TCIWTFY - Chapter 132

He froze, unable to even express his anger, holding onto the dead Ost.

Medea watched indifferently as the last target she had missed on the battlefield died.

'I was determined to get rid of him before he left Valdina.'

She was a little surprised because she didn't expect Peleus to be the one to finish it off.

At that moment, D'Angel winked at Medea.

"Tom? Who are you looking for, still with the arrow hanging?"

"Yes, Sir. Her Highness the Princess has ordered that the Grand Duke of Castullo's secret escort be eliminated."

When Gilliforth leads the Agemas to attack the village where Jason's secret army is hiding, D'Angel happens to be by Tom's side.

"Oh, if it's Her Highness says... Hmmm, should I help you?"

"I would appreciate it if you would do so. You said that they are people who wear laurel wreaths on their helmets and never leave the Grand Duke's side, so it shouldn't be hard for you to find them, Senior."

Tom was able to deal with the three hermits without missing a beat thanks to the assistance of Agema's leader, D'Angel.

He told his lord all about the interventions of Grand Duke Castullo and the elimination of his secret escort before Peleus showed up.

"Bring the Grand Duke back. This time, my knights will bring him 'safely' back to his homeland."

Peleus's speech was not at odds with the etiquette required to treat the royal family of a foreign country.

However, just because the words were beautiful, the actions were not the same.

The Agemas moved to Jason's side and grabbed his arms. Their hostility and anger could be felt in their grip, which was so rough that it stopped the flower of blood.

Jason bit his lip and chewed on the shame that was creeping up on him.

There was also a handful of resentment towards Medea.

"Princess Medea. Are you really going to turn your back on me like this?"

The words came out of Jason's mouth without him knowing. Peleus frowned and blocked his sister's path.

Even Jason's eyes were unpleasant to touch. A sense of shame as if he were being treated like an insect, rose in Jason's chest.

"I really did try to protect you. It was the Princess who rejected and insulted my favor, not me!"

Does she know what I've lost?

The more Jason spoke, the more angry he became. Before he knew it, he lost his temper and shouted.

"I have never done anything wrong, so what on earth could possibly be wrong with me..."

Jason really didn't understand.

Even though she couldn't return the favor, Medea pushed him away every time and glared at him with hate. His teeth chattered.

"Well."

Medea shrugged.

"I don't know. Maybe there was some bad relationship from the past."

The light answer contrasted with his heavy emotions and made the insult even more intense.

Jason clenched his fists. Anger at being ignored rose in his veins. he had never been rejected so much in his life.

A sense of loss that had nothing to hold onto permeated his bones, and the fact that he was surrounded by the murderous King and Agemas and could not fight back hurt his bones.

'If only there were barbarians and hermits...'

He wouldn't have withdrawn so shamefully. He had lost all the cards he had in his hand and gained nothing.

Before Jason could swallow his anger, the Agemas on either side of him grabbed him roughly again.

"Let go! I'll go on my own two feet!"

Jason shook them off and turned around. It was a very shabby exit, unlike when he had come to Valdina.

"Then, Grand Duke Castullo, I would like you to take a look. I assume you have no intention of setting foot on Valdina's land again."

Peleus, who had issued the banishment order so clearly that it was almost contemptuous, turned to the Regent.

"Imprison them all. Execute them without any exception."

"Your Majesty... Your Majesty the King!"

The ministers held their breath.

The Regent's face turned pale.

"Peleus! I am your uncle!"

So the implication was that there should be exceptions.

However, the one who was actually affected by those words was not Peleus, but the nobles of the Regent faction.

'You're saying you're royalty and you want to escape alone?'

They too were the embodiment of greed and lust for power, which would make them second to none in this country.

With life at stake, there was no more loyalty or duty.

"Your Majesty! The Regent was the first to threaten us by bringing up our corruption! If we do not participate in the rebellion, he will report us!"

Someone shouted, It only took one person to open the floodgates.

"Your Majesty, the Regent has conspired with the head maid, Cuisine, and the Minister, Ettiene, to raise rebels with money stolen from the palace!"

"With the seal of Her Highness the Princess, he has replaced all the officials who do not cooperate with him!"

"I was in charge of laundering the money of Duke Claudio's family. The Duke's family is full of gold and jewels, and there are more than ten places in the country and even the empire where they have hidden slush funds!"

As if they had been waiting, revelations continued one after another.

The Regent, who had just tried to sell Jason without hesitation, was met with the exact same reaction from his subordinates.

They exposed the corruption, bribery, and crimes that the Regent had committed thus far.

In fact, they may have been expecting this moment when the Regent had, without hesitation, removed Minister Ettiene, his right-hand man.

So, they did;t feel any guilt about selling him to save their life.

"Your Majesty, the Regent also instructed that when he kidnapped the Princess, he scarred her face! So, even if the Grand Duke rescued the Princess, Her Highness would not be able to become the Grand Duchess!"

"I am subordinate of the little Duke, and under his orders, I annihilated Count Etienne. During the hunting competition, I attached a scented bag to Her Highness's horse to lure the beasts."

It wasn't just the nobles and vassals of the Regent faction who were looking for a way to survive.

The Regen't face turned pale.

"Hey, you guys! You ungrateful bastards! How can you live off my money and power!"

He was furious with the deep sense of betrayal in his bones. Even the veins in his one remaining eye were red and ready to burst.

The people who had gathered under the walls and surrounded the sinners also heard the revelation.

"My goodness, he's really done too much. It wasn't the Princess who made this country poor, but the evil Prince Regent!"

"A guy like that wants to be King! Wake up! Claudio! Even a swarm of ants would reject someone like you!"

"Not only did he kidnap his niece whom he cherished so much, but he even made orders to disfigure her face. he is a monster in human skin!"

People were astonished at the unprecedented brutality.

"Your Majesty wise King, please weigh the pros and cons! We have no other option but to face the Regent's threats."

The nobles of the Regent's faction bowed their heads and asked.

"..."

"Your Majesty, Your Majesty...?"

But when there was no response, they raised their heads.

Then, they met the eyes of the King, who was looking down at them with an indifferent face, and their bodies trembled.

Peleus was not fooled by their excuses.

'Dea's revelation of the decree to the world must have been to root out the corrupt people, including the Regent.'

"They are the ones who fill their bellies with the blood and flesh of the people. Are there any exceptions to treason? All internal strife is punishable by execution."

The authoritative voice was firm, like a branding.

"Phew...Ha..!"

The mouths that had been gaping like fish thrown out of the water were clodes by Peleus's cold murderous intent.

The Regent's men finally realized.

The King before their eyes is neither young nor weak anymore.

He was a warrior who survived the years of battles and a conqueror who brought the tribes of the plains to their knees.

Their incompetent blindness has long been seen through to the bone.

"Take them and go. After the ceremony, we will hold their execution ceremony in the square."

"Understood!"

Beneath the knight's united shouts, the cries of those who foresaw death leaked out.

'I too will end up on the guillotine.'

Theo, kneeling beside the sinner, though absentmindedly.

'I wish I could see Saya at least for the last time.'

But Theo knew it was too much.

Because he couldn't leave Saya with the burden of being a traitor's family.

'If I had known it would turn out like this, if I had known this was the end of the revolution, I would not have left like that.'

"Just a moment."

A bright voice rang out, but it went unnoticed by Theo's ears.

A shadow fell over his head as he lowered his head in a sense of despairing defeat. At the sound, Theo raised his head without thinking.

When his eyes adjusted to the stinging sunlight, he could finally see the stunningly beautiful girl standing before him.

"Your Highness, this is..."

The Princess stopped the approaching knight with a raised hand and looked down at Theo.

'Princess... you say?'

It was Theo's first time meeting this person so closely, someone he had only known through letters.

Theo took a deep breath.

The shock was greater than when he first saw the shadow of a person standing on the wall.

"It's you. You who beheaded the leader of the rebels and told me about the Regent's crimes."

The Princess's voice was soft.

Her white cheeks were as smooth as an angel's, and her expression was pious and pure.
