CYSWTF - Chapter 116

Episode 116. The Princess's Gift

I went to greet the Duke before entering the palace at the invitation of Her Highness Princess Milliora. Prince Kydel was supposed to meet me at the palace.

For several days after we got married, we were like that. He would wake up at dawn, disappear, come back at night, tease me, and fall asleep on the sofa.

Watching him from the side, I could see how busy he was, and he really needed a wife to help him.

Anyway, as I was walking down the hallway after receiving permission from the Duke to go out, a large man came across me.

I must have seen him at the wedding, but I couldn't remember who he was. I was torn between thinking whether I should talk to him briefly or pretend not to see him if he didn't greet me first.

However, as he approached me, he had a smirk on his face, making my worries seem meaningless.

When we passed each other, he deliberately nudged my shoulder with his shoulder and muttered as he passed by.

His low voice cut into my eardrums like a knife.

“You’ve thrown the honor of the Duke’s family into the gutter, and you still walk around like it’s your own home.”

Maybe I would have tolerated it yesterday. Anyone who takes pride in the Kydel family would naturally hate me.

But now I know that this isn’t just my problem. Whether I like it or not, I have to share in the responsibility for the prestige of the Kydel family.

I braced my stomach and turned around.

“What the hell, what did I just hear? You’re just a slit in your mouth...”

The man slowly turned toward me with his mouth wide open. But the size difference was huge. I had to end the match before he came to his senses.

I used my superhuman concentration to swear at him. My mind was missing the sailor I met on the high seas.

And after a while, I left the man, who was panting against the wall, and leisurely left the hallway.

I rode in the black carriage of the Kydel family that I had seen on the day of the Academy entrance exam and headed to the palace.

Looking out over the streets of the capital from the shiny black carriage with the emblem of the fire-breathing eagle, I felt as if even the colors of the world had changed.

'Is this how a married woman feels?'

When I arrived at the palace, the servants I met recognized me and bowed. Somehow, I didn't feel bad about that, so I smiled back.

However, I couldn't help but feel nervous in front of the reception room of the princess's palace.

Eria was so happy to see me that she didn't know what to do. I hugged her tightly, too.

"Maid! No, Lady Kydel. Congratulations on your marriage."

"Eria! How have you been? I missed you!"

"I'm doing well. Oh my... Lady Kydel, I think you've gotten prettier. I don't know..."

"Um... What exactly do you not know?"

I felt very uneasy as I watched Eria blush and twist her body.

However, in a situation where she was happy to see me after such a long time, I couldn't say anything, so I handed her the box of snacks I had brought.

"They were delicious. You'll keep them."

"Oh my, thank you, Lady Kydel!"

“Hey, what? With this.”

“Should I report it?”

“Yes.”

I looked nervously at the reception room door and straightened my expression and posture.

‘Her Highness Miliora is in there.’

When I suddenly said that I had to resign, Her Highness the Princess couldn’t control her excitement.

If Eria hadn’t stopped her then, I would have had to wear a hood instead of a high-quality lace veil during the wedding ceremony. I wouldn’t have had any hair left.

After Her Highness’s permission, I bravely went in and bowed with the brightest face I could.

“I, Lorisha Loire, greet you, the little sun of Tagar, Her Highness the Princess Miliora. How have you been, Your Highness?”

Her Highness Miliora was sitting on the sofa in her usual slanted posture. Her fresh eyes didn’t change even though I bowed.

She said, displeasedly.

“Who are you? You’re my former maid, and you can’t even introduce yourself properly?”

This time, my face turned red. It was as if someone had shoved a rag down my throat, and I couldn’t speak.

When I panicked, Her Highness the Princess turned her head like a snake and narrowed her eyes at me.

She was clearly enjoying my panic.

Her lips trembled as she spoke.

“Lorisha Ky...del, Your Highness the Princess… Your Highness!”

“Hohoho! Got it. Got it. Sit down quickly, Lorisha!”

Her Highness the Princess burst into laughter and pulled me to sit next to her. Then she frowned again.

“Isn’t this the same outfit you wore before? Are you wearing this again?”

“It’s still new...”

“Hey. You’re Madame Kydel now. You have to think about your husband’s honor, too.”

My heart pounded every time the word Kydel came out.

I realized that Her Highness was determined to tease me today and decided to change the subject.

“Your Highness is single, how did you know that...”

“Are you trying to say that you’re not my maid anymore?”

“Oh my, no way, Your Highness! How could I do that to Your Highness?”

When I laughed and laughed, Her Highness laughed.

She leaned toward me and asked secretly,

“How was your first night...? Are you happy now that you’re married?”

Alcohol. Harassment. Alcohol. Each room.

There was nothing I could recall about my wedding that I could say in front of others.

My face turned red, and I spoke very timidly.

“I don’t remember, Your Highness.”

At that, Her Highness Milliora’s eyes shook helplessly.

“Huh... That much...?”

“Yes.”

I was completely passed out because I was drunk.

“Oh my!”

Her Highness’ face turned red, and she fanned herself.

I somehow felt like our conversation was out of sync, but I didn’t want to continue this conversation, so I smiled and asked something else.

“How is Lord Rond?”

“Yes. He’s been feeling really well lately. He must have told me to go out of the palace because I said I wasn’t feeling well. I’ve been holding back from wanting to go out for so long because I was afraid his condition would get worse, but anyway, it’s good.”

It was admirable that she had held back something out of consideration for the other person.

“You seem to have become much closer to Lord Rond, Your Highness.”

“Oh my, this kid! How can we be close...?”

I said it out of joy, but Her Highness blushed and blushed for some reason. I didn’t think we could continue this conversation for long.

“Still, I feel a little relieved that you seem to be doing well. I didn’t do much, but I was very sorry for leaving so suddenly, Your Highness.”

“Sorry... What did you do?”

I thought Her Highness would get angry again. But she turned her head away from me and muttered softly,

“I’m sorry.”

“...Yes?”

Her voice was so small that I couldn’t help but ask without noticing.

Then Her Highness the Princess suddenly got irritated and said,

“I’m sorry for framing you as a thief and... Anyway, I’m sorry! Yes? Does that make you feel better?”

This time, my face turned red. It was a feeling that was really hard to express.

I had gotten along well with Misha, and now Her Highness the Princess is apologizing for the past. I felt like it was time for me to die.

Of course, I didn’t hate it at all. It was ticklish and uncomfortable, but Her Highness the Princess and Misha looked happier than before, so I was happy too.

When I smiled bashfully, Her Highness the Princess glanced at me.

I don’t know why, but I must have lost my mind for a moment. I felt sorry for Her Highness Milliora, who was watching me, but at the same time, I hugged her tightly. You can’t touch the bodies of the royal family without permission.

“I forgot everything, Your Highness! Your Highness should be happy even without me. Got it?”

The Princess’s body, which had been frozen in surprise, slowly softened. She didn’t dislike my hug.

I couldn’t possibly know how she felt right now, but I felt like I knew a little bit.

Apologizing to someone for their mistakes gives the person doing the apologizing a wonderful feeling. It’s like they’ve become a much better person than before they apologized.

I felt that way after apologizing to Prince Kydel about the letter. I was glad that the Princess felt the same way I did.

She said softly,

“Hey. It’s stuffy.”

Only then did I snicker at the Princess. The Princess also smiled and avoided my eyes.

“But isn’t your husband coming?”

“Yes? Who said... Ah...He’s coming soon.”

When I belatedly remembered the existence of Prince Kydel and stuttered, the Princess made a pitiful expression as if she were going to die.

“Don’t do that in front of Duke Kydel. He may look docile on the outside, but he’s really strict.”

“I’ll be careful. Anyway, Prince Kydel said he’d be here right away, but it looks like he’s late.”

“You should say ‘my husband.’ Hohoho!”

“Your Highness.”

At that moment, Eria announced Prince Kydel’s arrival.

He bowed to Her Highness the Princess with a cool look.

“Oh my, Prince Locard! Look at how much better your face has become!”

I felt a little betrayed as I watched Her Highness greet him much more enthusiastically than I did.

And he smiled at me as if he were boasting.

“They say my face has become brighter. But don’t worry, I’m a loyal man to my wife, Lorisha.”

“Oh my, Prince Locard has become such a lover? Hohoho!”

I’ve been hearing Her Highness’s cheeky laughter a lot today.

Her Highness says it’s fun to watch me, but who’s that Locard Kydel guy who takes it a step further?

The two of them started a pleasant conversation, leaving me in the middle of my indifferent state. It was a scene that reminded me of an old tea party.

The only difference was that this time, I was part of it too. Thinking about it that way, I felt strange, but not unpleasant.

Her Highness took out a small box on the table and said.
