ICTFF - Chapter 26 < There Is No Flower With One Leaf (6) >

There is no flower with one leaf (6)

As the decision to go to Eldern was made, the person who became the busiest was Nadia.

She despaired for a moment when she heard that she only had one night to prepare, but she quickly cheered up and began to pack her bags.

The night passed by in a flash, and the time to leave finally arrived.

In front of the main building, a large wagon carrying Montpain and a luxurious carriage were parked side by side.

The servants began loading five suitcases into the luxurious carriage.

Compared to the two-month trip, my luggage was light. This was the result of a compromise with Nadia, who was about to move my entire bedroom.

As the luggage was loaded, Ian checked the carriage. His expression was very serious as he examined the wheels and the inside of the carriage.

I was waiting behind and stared at his shoulder.

Ian and Kalit. The number of candidates for benefactor has increased to two.

'Who is my benefactor?"

There's no need to rush. There are still two months left to check.

I smiled secretly as I smelled the soapy scent coming from Ian.

"Youngest..."

At that moment, Chevio grabbed my shoulder. His expression was gloomy.

He had that expression on his face ever since he got scolded by my father after insisting on following me all day.

Kjer, who approached next, spoke coldly.

"If you're not going to control your expression, get in."

"What's wrong with my expression?"

"Brother, don't worry too much. I'll be back safely."

"Ugh."

Chevio took something out one by one and held it out.

"Take this."

"What's this?"

"It's my lucky charm. I'm only lending it to you for a little while, so don't lose it."

This is the handkerchief I gave you a few days ago.

I was shocked, but I didn't show it and accepted the handkerchief.

"Okay, I'll go and return it to you."

"Ugh..."

"Get out of the way."

Kjer pushed Chevio away and put the necklace around my neck.

The design featured a uniquely shaped pendant hanging from a luxurious gold chain.

"Is that a necklace?"

"If you ever stop by an inn or a shop, show them. They'll usually treat you like royalty."

"Then it's important. Can you give it to me?"

"It's not more important than you."

"Thank you."

"Don't look at dangerous places and don't wander around late at night."

A sigh came out as the gratitude faded.

"Brother, I told you I'm twenty years old."

"Watch out, especially the male pups. They're all wolves except for us."

"It's cliche."

Kjer chuckled and flicked the tip of my nose.

"Come back on time. If you're late, you'll get in trouble with me."

"Ha, I got it."

"I want to go on a trip with my youngest too..."

Chevio buried his face in my shoulder and whined.

Just as Kjer was about to say something with a frown on his face, the employee came running in in a hurry.

"Miss! A guest has arrived!"

We're about to leave, and I have a guest? Who is it when no one else is coming?

By the way, there was a commotion at the main gate. Chevio tilted his head and asked.

"Who is it?"

"That is His Highness the First Prince."

"What?!"

At that moment, a dark blue carriage entered the center of the estate.

The imperial emblem on the carriage gleamed in the sunlight. Five knights escorted it on horseback.

He came in through the main gate in a carriage like that, accompanied by a driver. I think I can hear the reporters' cries from here.

The carriage stopped nearby.

Soon the carriage door opened and Kalit, neatly dressed in white, got out.

"Your Highness, have you arrived?"

When Chevio greeted him politely, Kalit responded with a bright smile.

"It's been a while. Commander of the Knights. How was your vacation?"

"Thank you, I am resting well. My father is inside. Please go in."

"It's okay. The person I want to see is here."

"Who are you talking about...?"

Kalit walked past the bewildered Chevio and approached me.

"Fortunately, I think I got the timing right."

People's astonished gazes were focused on Kalit, who was naturally kissing the back of my hand.

"What's going on..."

"I have something to tell you."

He bent his head close to my ear and whispered secretly.

"I changed bedrooms. To the second bedroom on the third floor."

Ah! You really trusted me and changed your bedroom. I couldn't help but smile in gratitude.

"I see. Thank you for believing in me.'

"That's about it between us."

He smiled faintly and looked around at the knights of Eldern.

For a moment, Ian and Kalit's eyes met.

As Ian silently bowed his head, Kalit raised her graceful eyebrows.

"Your companion is unnecessarily cool."

He muttered as if talking to himself and then grabbed my hand again.

"If possible, don't get out of the carriage."

"Yes?"

"Especially outside the capital, stick close to the little Duke. I will endure the jealousy."

"...?"

Ironically, those were his last words.

What?

As I watched the rear of the imperial carriage moving further and further away, I remembered what Oslo had said to me before.

"Everyone is being deceived. Kalit is not as good a person as he is known to be. Even Father doesn't know that."

Kalit is indeed an unpredictable person, but he doesn't cross the line for power like Oslo.

It would have been much better for him if he had secretly eliminated me in my past life, but the fact that he didn't is proof of that.

A person who keeps the right measure, an Emperor should be like this.

As I was thinking that, Chevio and Kjer grabbed me by the shoulders.

"It seems like our youngest has a lot of secrets from his brothers?"

"Let's talk before we leave."

"Your Highness, isn't it time we left?"

Please tell me so.

But Ian mercilessly turned his back on me.

"There is still time. Let's talk until the Marquis comes out."

Oh, I'm already tired before I even set off.

***

Marquis Astrod, who was being interviewed by a newspaper, hurried down the stairs upon hearing the news of the First Prince's visit.

Marquis Astro asked the butler.

"I heard His Highness the First Prince has arrived?"

"He left after talking to the young lady for a while. It seems he came to see her off."

"Is that so?"

According to Kjer, the two played chess, and they must have become close enough to see each other off.

'The youngest isn't that sociable... How strange.'

Outside, the knights of Eldern were lined up and waiting for him.

Even though thirty knights, considered the best in the empire, were escorting Millenia and Nadia was following her, he still felt unsatisfied.

He wished he could have given her dozens of knights and servants from the family, but Millenia flatly refused.

"Father, there are knights of Eldern, so is there any reason to add more guards?"

"Then take more employees with you."

"Nadia is enough on her own even on normal days.

"But..."

"I know what you are worried about, Father. But no one can do it for me."

The people Millenia will meet in the future will not be easy.

Some people will criticize openly, while others will turn around and curse.

It would have been helpful if she had at least one more person on her side at that time. Millenia chose to handle it alone.

Does my daughter know how wonderful and heartbreaking it is?

Marquis Astrod sighed and walked quickly. In front of the carriage, Chevio and Kjer were whispering something with Millenia in the middle. It was obvious as expected. Kaer will be spewing harsh reprimands at Chevio, who is making a fuss about following her again.

'When will you grow up?'

As he was sticking his tongue out, his daughter suddenly turned her head in his direction.

"Father?"

"Are you ready? Is there anything you forgot?"

"Nadia will take care of it. Don't worry."

The child laughed as she said that.

As he looked into her eyes that didn't meet his, a familiar chest pain came over him.

It was a fantasy that started when the child was chosen as a guardian.

My child, for whom I would not mind giving my life.

To Marquis Astrod. Millenia was that kind of daughter.

Compared to the troublemaker Chevio and the naturally cold-hearted Kjer, Millenia had never once given him a hard time.

That's why he thinks he treated her more harshly. He was afraid that if he pampered her too much, she would go astray.

Was that the problem?

At some point, Millenia started to distance herself from him.

He realized his mistake later and wanted to approach the child, but perhaps because he is blunt by nature, he didn't know what to do.

Every time he would hang around in front of his child's bedroom and then come back. He would repeat this.

Another heartbreaking piece of news has arrived.

Millenia lost her sight overnight when she was chosen as a prophet.

Why does it have to be my child?

If he could, he would give his two eyes to Millenia.

However, there was no way to go against God's choice, so he had no choice but to accept it even if it meant shedding tears of blood inside.

After that, Millenia's relationship with Marquis Astrod reached its worst when she met Oslo.

'I thought I would never see this child smile again until I died...'

But Millenia was smiling at him now.

'Thank you, my daughter.'

Marquis Astrod did not say anything in the end. He simply held Millenia in his arms.

It was the first time he held his child in his arms since she became an adult.

Millenia paused for a moment as if surprised, then quickly wrapped her arms around his back.

Marquis Astrod closed his eyes without realizing it.

He felt like crying, even though it was just a joke.

"Have a nice trip."

The next day, a new scoop appeared in the morning paper.

< Lady Millennia Astrod, Transferred to 1st Prince as Soon as She Broke Up with 3rd Prince >

But Millenia, who was traveling, had no idea.
