7MIP - Chapter 65

Phew-

The noise was suddenly silenced by the loud blast of a horn.

The Emperor, standing in front of the throne on the dais, was holding the Second Prince, Fernand, close to his side again today. Fernand's expression was not very good.

The Emperor, dressed in splendid hunting attire and riding his horse, announced in a cheerful voice.

“From now on, the first hunting festival of autumn, hosted by the Imperial Family, will begin. I will personally award a great prize to the winner who catches the most games today, so everyone, do your best.”

“I will do my best, Your Highness.”

The Emperor, accompanied by his guards, his huntsmen, and the royal hounds, was the first to enter the forest, accompanied by Fernand.

There were also contacts prepared to ensure that routes did not overlap.

As the nobles prepared to go into the vast forest, each with their own escort of knights, knights, and hunting dogs, Agatha also saw off Enoch's procession on horseback.

“Have a nice trip.”

“It won’t take long.”

Agatha waved her hand, kissing his cheek lightly as usual.

As Enoch walked away, the Crown Prince, Anthony Roxiba, who still had not given up on his foolishness, rode by on his horse with a thumping sound.

“...Do I really have to be there?”

“Of course, Your Highness.”

“Before it starts, don’t come. Go.”

The Crown Prince's procession disappeared into the forest.

The hunt had begun and the fight was just beginning.

After all those who participated in the hunt went into the forest, the empty lot became a stage for the remaining nobles.

After the chaotic atmosphere of seeing each other's families or lovers has calmed down, people will gather in small groups and start talking.

'I don't know if the carriage is coming.'

Because a dessert party was suddenly scheduled, they didn't have enough time to give the chef enough time to prepare.

There was no time to obtain precious materials, and even if they were obtained, there were no conditions to prepare large quantities.

"It will take time to move, but I still want to serve desserts that will taste the same."

The chef, who was struggling with Agatha's request, said.

"We just happened to have a lot of fresh blueberries. How about a blueberry tart?"

Luckily, they had plenty of cream cheese and blueberries in the kitchen. The only problem was that a delicious dessert took time.

"As soon as the tart is finished, I will send it to the hunting grounds."

"I'll get it to you soon. Don't worry, ma'am
."

After seeing that the first tart was properly prepared, they set off for the hunting grounds. Now, it was time for the carriage carrying the finished tarts to arrive.

“Shall I send a servant to the mansion?”

Jessie asked quietly.

She thought maybe it was Neuta who was doing the trick.

To prevent any unforeseen circumstances, Agatha had assigned some knights to the dessert carriage.

He even gave orders to fill the carriage with ice to prevent the cheese from melting.

“No. Just check up on the hunting grounds.”

“I'll be back soon.”

After sending Jesse, Agatha planned to stay with Lady Iris and her entourage.

Jessie, who had gone to check if the carriage had arrived, returned shortly.

“Madam, the tart has arrived.”

"Yes?"

“It looks like it was baked deliciously.”

The tart Jessie brought was exactly the same as the one she had eaten at dawn.

Bite-sized pieces of fresh blueberries were topped with glistening sugar and cheese.

“How is it?”

“Yes. I think this will be enough.”

It was sweet and soft at the same time. It was a combination that could never be tasteless.

After assigning a few maids to guard the food to prevent anyone from tampering with it, Agatha moved to where the Crown Princess's quarters were.

Naturally, her entourage followed her. Numerous nobles were moving in the same direction as them.

“Lady Agatha. It seems like it took a long time to see you off.”

“It’s not just about seeing you off, but also about dessert. The tarts from the mansion have finally arrived.”

“Oh, I see that the Marchioness Aratus is planning to present a tart. I have prepared a madeleine.”

“Is this the bread that your mother used to love to serve?”

“Yes, I was given that recipe.”

As Agatha got her start, interest in the dessert party naturally began to grow.

They were secretly showing off the desserts we each brought, so much so that she had the illusion that she could smell a sweet scent even though she hadn't eaten them.

The one who welcomed this unexpected party the most was Crown Princess Elizabeth.

Instead of a large tea party to enjoy before dinner, the joint dessert party was simple, featuring only tea and one dessert.

Moreover, it was a golden opportunity to easily reconsider the influence of social circles.

In front of the Crown Princess's barracks, work was in full swing to set up a gazebo and curtains in preparation for the dessert party.

Crown Princess Elizabeth, who was checking the tea and dessert she had prepared, spotted Agatha and smiled gently.

“Madame Agatha.”

“Your Highness, I greet you.”

“Raise your heads. It looks like everyone has been preparing desserts with great enthusiasm.”

The Marchioness Adlerunk, who was standing nearby, nodded confidently.

“I am confident that Your Highness will like it very much when you try it.”

“Well, it was a party that started thanks to Madam Adelunk, right?”

“Of course, Your Highness took charge of the preparations.”

Agatha, who had gathered everyone's attention by clapping her hands, praised the Crown Princess's achievements even more.

“Everyone, Her Majesty the Queen is hosting a dessert party today and has prepared tea and a dessert from the palace to accompany this meal. His Highness the Crown Prince is also scheduled to arrive soon.”

“Oh, is that really true, Madame Agatha?”

The nobles preparing the dessert party could not hide their joy at the unexpected news that the crown prince would appear.

'Perhaps this is my chance to catch the eye of Our Majesties.'

Elizabeth pointed elegantly to the gazebo that her servants were setting up.

“Nothing. I just prepared a place, tea, and one of the palace desserts for everyone to enjoy. I accepted Lady Agatha’s request because I thought it was reasonable.”

“This is the first dessert party held at the Autumn Hunting Festival, so of course Your Highness should host it.”

“Thanks to Your Highness, we can taste desserts from each family in one place.”

The party was finally ready, with a few nobles from families with no connection to the royal family showing an exceptionally warm welcome.

About ten tables were set up to serve desserts from each family, and gazebos and curtains were hung over them to block out the sun and wind.

“Please put Madame Agatha’s dessert here.”

Elizabeth gave Agatha the most prominent spot next to the dessert she had placed.

“Thank you for your consideration, Your Highness.”

Her maid, Jessie, brought in blueberry tarts from the carriage and placed a small flag bearing the Aratus family crest on it.

The tart was placed on a pure white plate and covered with a crystal lid, making it sparkle like a jewel.

As Agatha was checking out the place she had just prepared, the Crown Prince, Anthony Roxiba, returned to the party venue.

In that short time, he must have caught something, as he even brought a cart with him.

“Your Highness the Crown Prince.”

“Hello, Little Sun of the Empire. I am so happy that Your Highness has come to the dessert party.”

“Your Highness, please try our family’s proud almond madeleines.”

“Oh, you managed to catch a deer in such a short time! You are truly His Highness the Crown Prince.”

Anthony, who had been walking in while being greeted arrogantly by the crowd of nobles, approached Agatha straight away.

“I'm here.”

He whispered softly and looked at the table.

“Aratus is a blueberry cheese tart. Can I look forward to its taste?”

“I just happened to have some fresh blueberries.”

Agatha turned her gaze towards the Crown Princess, Elizabeth, with an air of courtesy.

“Shouldn’t you go and see His Majesty? I’m sure His Majesty will know you’re here.”

“I was planning on going anyway.”

“I will accompany you, Your Highness.”

Perhaps Anthony had been hoping for that too.

Agatha and Anthony walked together naturally and checked out each family's desserts. Some families had overlapping types and ingredients, while others developed completely new desserts.

Laren was not easily used because it could be used to give a desired color, but it had the disadvantage of taking away the flavor of the dish.

There were traces of Laren being used in many desserts. Representative examples include the Neuta family and their entourage and all of their followers.

“Oh my, the colors are really pretty, but there are a lot of desserts with light flavors.”

“Oh, that’s because I used Laren. But the taste is still normal.”

To give up the flavors of so many desserts.

There was even a dessert that still had a subtle fragrance even though it had been made with Laren.

'I'm going to expose your weaknesses, no matter what.'

“Now, how about you tell me what interesting things are going on?”

Anthony whispered softly as he watched Agatha cautiously inspect the tables of the other families.

“There must be a good reason why you brought me here.”

“Your Highness, whenever I give you the signal, you can take the dessert from my plate and eat it instead. It would be better if you could help me avoid the moment when I need to eat it.”

“Rather than planning things, you were more of a blocker?”

“You’ll know when you watch.”

Anthony wanted to ask more questions, but he couldn't. Just five steps away stood the Crown Princess, Elizabeth.
