TVTLQ - Chapter 103

The Villainess Wants To Live Quietly

Rosenia and Rexed are busy for their own reasons.

An unseasonably academic atmosphere was flowing in the Duke of Altemir.

And at the center was Calix.

Recently, he had been waking up early in the morning to study and then falling asleep late at night. Just like a test taker about to take the academy graduation exam.

He was so focused that he couldn't even notice if someone was singing next to him.

'I serve this person, but I'm really scared.'

Dominic, who was watching this, trembled.

'You're saying this to help Lady Pierre with her business."

There was a mountain of books piled up around Calix. And most of those books were analyses of recent domestic and international markets and industry trends.

In particular, there were a lot of things related to textiles, clothing, and logistics, which are the fields that Rosenia Pierre has been targeting recently.

'How long has it been since I last saw the Duke like that?'

There was once in the past when Calix was as focused as he is now. It was a time when the opposition from the commercial companies, that had been targeted for mergers and acquisitions was severe and it was difficult.

Calix studied then as he does now.

The analysis was done in such a detailed and persistent manner that it was possible to disassemble it into cell units and diagnose it. Just two weeks later, the company that Calix had been targeting knelt before him.

Calix did not have the talent to withstand the fierce pressure he put on his opponent by bringing even the smallest illegal actions to the surface.

'No matter how much it was stolen and disintegrated...... It almost made the other side look pitiful.'

People who don't know the extremely personal circumstances of Calix's love for Rosenia will definitely think this if they see this now.

Calix is targeting Pierre as his next prey.

The pages of the book on the desk turned frighteningly quickly. Calix finished reading quickly and reached for the next book. At that time, Dominic cleared his throat.

"Duke."

Calix, who had been picking up a book, slowly raised his head. Although he was a little dull, his handsome face still showed signs of fatigue. Under silent pressure to speak quickly, Dominic approached him, pushing the cart he had left behind.

"It's already well past noon. Please finish reading after eating."

"Later."

"Didn't you just skip breakfast? Everyone is so worried. So much so that Lady Logiam asked me to personally deliver the meal to the Duke."

Dominic opened the lid on the plate. Then the fragrant smell of cream soup wafted in the air.

He paused as if the food the chef had carefully prepared had stimulated Calix's hunger. Dominic took the opportunity and quickly prepared a meal in front of him.

"Eat first. If you don't eat now, I don't think you'll last until dinner."

"Okay."

Calix slowly lifted the spoon. The way he ate his food with perfect dining manners looked elegant, but he was actually combative. There was quite a bit of food, but he started eating it all without leaving anything behind. It seemed like he was planning to eat enough and just skip dinner.

Dominic, who was liberated, asked him.

"Wouldn't it be okay if you took it a little slower? Lady Pierre's business doesn't start right away today or tomorrow."

"I have to help before that."

Calix muttered as he put down his soup spoon.

"And from the moment we sorted out Dominic, it was already a race against time."

The day Calix returned from a short trip with Rosenia. Calix toured the orphanages he was sponsoring. It was to find a child to use in his plan. He is a smart child who is strong and adaptable. He is also the child who played the main character in the theater performance prepared by their orphanage at the end of last year.

"You look a lot younger than I thought. How old are you?"

"He's just short, but he's not really that young. He's already approaching seven years old."

He eventually found a child with brown hair who matched his requirements. And they pretended that the child was Dominic Willock's son.

His plan went smoothly.

"Please forgive me for finally revealing the truth."

After hearing Dominic confess that he had a son, Rosenia couldn't bear to hold on to him and let him go. Dominic was able to leave without a hitch and just disappeared.

It was a perfectly clean ending.

Of course, his plan had only just begun.

"For Rosenia, Calix Altemir, no one else, should be the best."

"Isn't the Duke the best for everyone?"

"No. Dominic Willock is the only person on Rosenia's mind right now."

Whether as a loved one or as a talent who will lead the top together. This was also proof that Calix had contributed a lot to Pierre's superiors to gain her trust.

But now Calix has to take Dominic's place.

"The way to make Rosenia turn her attention to me is simpler than you think."

"If you say that's the way..."

She just needs to have a much more capable and wiser man by her side than Dominic. Dominic also gained her favor that way at first.

"Once she realizes that her Pierre upper develops faster when Calix is by her own side rather than Dominic, she too will forget about Dominic in no time."

"Okay. But Duke, I... Suddenly, I had a wish."

"What?"

"Please do not use my name as an alias from now on."

Dominic put his hands together, neatly and cried out.

"Doesn't it sound like I seduced Miss Rosenia?"

But Calix didn't really listen to what he said.

"And the faster the process to get there, the better. As time passes, people begin to remember the past. Even if Dominic wasn't that outstanding. I think there was no one like him."

"I'm also a talented person."

"So now is a good time to help her as she may feel betrayed by Dominic. What did she say earlier?"

"No."

Dominic closed his mouth. As expected, Calix didn't listen at all. He'd rather die than get sick.

"Furthermore, there is news that Rosenia will be attending Count Lancon's social gathering this weekend. I still don't have enough time to fit in on that day."

"Will you attend this time? You didn't go out in the first place."

Calix, the owner of the continent's leading merchant house, was also a member of a social gathering hosted by Count Lancon.

However, he rarely attended meetings. He was so busy that he didn't have time to attend, and he already knew the key people at the meeting personally.

"There are a lot of good people in that meeting. Some people will be helpful to Rosenia's business. I plan to help by building a bridge myself."

"If the Duke personally introduces Lady Pierre, the other side will do their best."

"Yes."

So even now, Calix resists the urge to go see Rosenia right away and analyze her business. To provide her with the things she needs promptly.

No one could stop Calix's determined passion.

***

The Count Lancon family is a family that has produced imperial court doctors for generations.

Working as an imperial court physician was certainly an honorable job, but from a financial perspective, it was not a job that earned much money.

But a few years ago, the young Count Lancon, who had just entered his mid-thirties, changed the family's fate. The digestive medicine he developed became a hit across the country, making his family wealthy in an instant.

Having achieved both fame and fortune, he created a social group to socialize with people similar to himself.

"I have confirmed the invitation. Please come in."

The first thing I felt as soon as I stepped into Count Lancon's residence was that the Count was truly amazing. Working as an imperial palace doctor or earning a lot of money does not mean that you are great.

'How did they get all these people together in one place?'

I knew it was a social group that not everyone could join, but the members were truly amazing. That person is a wealthy man who owns several large theaters that are famous for staging only hit films.

That company is a new business that has been doing well recently in the export reporting agency business.

Except that they were all young, in their forties or younger, their business fields and genders were diverse.

"Whoa."

I felt exhilarated.

I was nervous coming to a place full of prominent people, but ironically, that tension made me feel at ease. I feel like I can't think about anything else while I'm here.
