SPMB - Chapter 164
My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone
"Raphael?"
Black priestly robes fluttered in the wind.
Kanna couldn't believe it when she saw him. Why and how is Raphael here?
"You must not follow him."
Raphael vaguely warned.
"These are people who will take advantage of you even if it means forcibly drawing your blood. It's dangerous."
"Ha! That's funny. I can't believe the words 'dangerous' are coming out of your mouth. Aren't you the most dangerous person in the world?"
However, Raphael ignored Jerome and extended his hand to Kanna. It was a signal for her to come.
"Don't go, Kanna. The author is a more dangerous man than anyone else."
Jerome's sparkling eyes glared at Raphael.
"Do you know how spirits are created in the first place? A spirit is a being created by scraping together human life!"
Kanna listened to their conversation in silence. But she didn't go either way. There was no movement as if both legs were rooted.
At that time, she made eye contact with Raphael.
He was wondering. Why doesn't she come to him? Those were the eyes that asked that question.
The moment Raphael's attention was focused on Kanna, Jerome took something out of his pocket and threw it.
Phew!
A very eerie sound was heard.
Kanna blinked.
Raphael's forearm crossed in front of her, his black sleeves were torn and the blade of his sword was sticking out. The red liquid flowed from the pointed end and dripped down.
Kanna stared at the veins and then looked beyond.
Jerome was running away.
'Why did you attack him?'
The answer was obvious.
Because he knows Raphael will try to protect her, and because he knows he will get hurt instead of Kanna.
'We shouldn't send the author away like that.'
If she let it go like this, it was obvious that he would later lead the other Black Apostles to track her down. So, there is no chance but now.
The moment Kanna grabbed the drinking circle in her hand, Raphael pulled out the dagger stuck in his forearm. Then he threw it without hesitation.
The dagger pierced Jerome's neck. He couldn't even scream and fell over. He is probably dead.
"You don't have to do that when I'm around. Don't get hurt by performing.'
Kanna watched his loyalty without expression. Then she spoke in an indifferent tone.
"Then Raphael got hurt again."
"I am okay."
"If you leave it alone, It will heal quickly, right?"
"Yes."
" It's amazing. Is it because it is the body that will become a spirit?"
Raphael closed his mouth. But there was no sign of surprise. It was clear that he had been listening to the entire conversation between Jerome and Kanna.
So, he probably knows that the fact that he is the successor to a divine spirit was revealed.
"Do you even have the ability to find people?"
Otherwise, this doesn't make sense.
Kanna apparently boarded a small boat on Riben Island. There was nothing else but that ship on the open sea.
In other words, it was a place where no one could ever pursue.
But Raphael followed her.
"Yes."
Raphael casually said something surprising.
"That's right."
Rather, it was Kanna who was embarrassed. She meant this to be sarcastic, but she never thought he would have such a strange ability.
"Does that mean the spirit knows I'm alive?"
"No."
"Why? If you, the successor to a divine spirit, can do it, isn't it possible for a divine spirit too?"
"I am made better than that."
He was talking about himself like a product that was released with better performance than the old one.
It was strange. Everything.
What he says, his identity, his abilities. Raphael.
At one point, while Kanna was staring blankly into his eyes, she felt goosebumps running down her spine.
So Raphael was not an ordinary human being.
Raphael was a completely different creature from her. Like a God. No, with powers that even a God doesn't have, like a monster...
Splash.
At that moment, the sound of water drops was heard. Kanna lowered her head without realizing it.
And saw Raphael's red, wet hands. The blood constantly flows down those fingertips.
'Again.'
He got hurt again. Every time Kanna sees him, he gets hurt somewhere.
The moment she thought that, the strength in her shoulders dissipated as if it were collapsing. Kanna let out a sigh.
"Stop hurting yourself. No matter how quickly you get better, that doesn't mean there's no pain."
"It's okay."
"Raphael."
"Yes."
"Are you by any chance my blood relatives?"
It was a sudden question. However, Raphael's expression was as calm as a lie.
"That may be so."
"What does that mean?"
"Those born in the Great God Temple do not know who their parents are or who their brothers and sisters are."
She guessed so.
Only if you do not know who your biological relatives are, you will be able to maintain the terrible system of incestuous marriage.
"But from the moment I was born, I was destined to be the successor to a divine spirit. Therefore, I think there is a very high possibility that I am the son of a spirit."
He was right. That is highly likely. Then,
"I think we could be siblings."
The moment she muttered that a hint of emotion finally emerged from Raphael.
Slightly narrowed eyebrows. There was a feeling of discomfort between them.
Does he wish they weren't blood relatives?
But now that Kanna looked again, his eyebrows were straight. She guessed she saw it wrong.
"When did you know that I was the daughter of a divine spirit?"
"I knew it from the moment I first saw you in the ghetto."
"But why did you do that?"
"What does it mean?"
"Why did you act like a servant? When I revealed that I was God's daughter, I had the opportunity to say that we might be siblings."
"I dare not be your equal."
Raphael answered quietly.
"My life is ugly, and I am a cowardly fugitive. But you are different."
He stared at her with straight eyes.
"You are the one who rescues others even in despair. You deserve to be worshiped."
Oh my God.
Kanna sighed. Raphael really saw herself as a Saintess.
It was truly a huge misunderstanding.
"Raphael, I am not who you think I am. I'm selfish and do whatever it takes to survive. Rather, I am closer to a villainess."
"Not to me."
Raphael said firmly. He had strict eyes that did not allow for counterarguments.
"If I hadn't met you, I would have died a long time ago. It is a life that would have been lost even if it had been taken by oneself."
Kanna was speechless. The confidence in his eyes overflowed, and it seemed like the truth.
"But you told me to live. That is the only reason I am still living this humble life."
"Don't say that!"
She can't take it anymore. Kanna could not bear it and shouted.
"It's annoying and burdensome to see you show up so devotedly. I don't even remember you...!"
"I remember."
"..."
"I don't necessarily want you to remember me. I don't want anything from you."
He meant it. Raphael wanted nothing from her. He asked for no affection, no favors, or even a little attention."You can just use me at your convenience."
That's all he wants.
"Use me as your shield and as your spear. If I break down one day, throw me away then. It would be an honor for me to die for you."
Only then did Kanna fully realize. Raphael doesn't know how to live life. He does not know joy, he does not know happiness. He doesn't care. He was like a black bottomless pit with no reason to live.
It is said that he once tried to die. There must have been a good reason for that.
But he says Kanna blocked it. He is said to have given food, spoken hope, and healed the wounds of a boy who had decided to die. An irresponsible pity that Kanna doesn't even remember now.
It was the result of that trivial act of kindness.
So, in other words, Raphael was his own business. He is the karma of recklessly offering life to a man who had decided on death.
"Damn."
Kanna could not pretend not to notice this past karma that was persistently following her. Rather, he didn't fall down. Like a thorn under her fingernails, she couldn't ignore it.
"No."
However, contrary to his feelings, she spat it out coldly.
"I will live a new life. Do you know what that means? I'm going to cut ties with everything in the past."
"I will help."
"I have to leave. You are being pursued by the Great Temple."
Kanna fired quickly.
"If you stick around by my side, the Great Temple may find me. My survival may be known. I'm not willing to take that risk."
Silence fell.
He looked at her with her expressionless face. Then Raphael spoke very seriously.
"I am good at many things. I can satisfy you in many ways."
He continued speaking quickly.
"I am also excellent at housekeeping. including cleaning and cooking. Whatever you ask, I'm sure you'll be satisfied."
"I do not need."
"How about using me to protect your home?"
"I do not need."
"You can just set me up like a statue for ornamental purposes."
Is this a joke?
No. Surprisingly, he was more serious than anyone else in the world. Raphael was serious now.
How could he seriously ask for a statue to be erected like that?
It would be a pleasure to the eyes to have such a handsome statue at home.
"I do not need."
"Am I of no use?"
"Huh."
"All right."
He finally understood. He bowed and greeted Kanna politely.
"I will follow your will. Please be happy."
Then he turned around. The back of her walking without a single trace of regret. Kanna was rather surprised by that sense of ease.
'Wait a minute, you're not trying to die, are you?'
The back of her head became stiff due to an ominous feeling. For some reason, it seems like that.
Kanna clenched her fists and held back.
But the further away he got, the clearer Kanna remembered that moment.
Raphael's hand, which ran wither in the blazing flames, and his body, which completely melted because of it.
Damn it.
"Wait."
Raphael immediately turned around. The moment she met those eyes, Kanna was overcome with a feeling of extreme defeat.
'So, live your life well first before taking care of me.'
"Can you help me as I am being pursued by the Great Temple?"
You have to choose the wrong answer even though you know it is wrong. It was a very miserable feeling.
Raphael pondered his words and asked.
"Is it okay if I don't get chased by the Great Goddess?"
""That's basic!"
Oh. She doesn't know. Kanna let out a sigh of relief.
"I don't need a slave to die for me. There is no need for yard dogs, ornamental statues cleaners, or cooks."
"So what do you need?"
Kanna continued speaking with a feeling of despair.
"I might need a protector strong enough to protect me from Addis, the imperial family, and the great temple."
Honestly, it was nonsense. Kanna realized long ago that expecting someone to protect her was a very dangerous gamble.
Therefore, this was purely a rumor to give Raphael a new goal.
But Raphael asked more seriously.
"Then can I stay by your side?"
"I don't know. I'll think about it."
Kanna responded coldly.
"Until then, don't even think about meeting me. Don't look for me even if you can. Because it's a hindrance."
"All right."
"If things have changed that much in five years, we'll meet here. Until then, don't approach me."
Kanna turned around after saying those words. She said it back and forth, but in the end, it was parting words.
This is the end with Raphael.
'Of course, it's impossible.'
Even if it takes 5 years or 50 years, it won't happen. But Raphael had different thoughts.
"3 years."
Raphael spoke quietly as he watched her retreating back.
"Three years is enough."
