IDMH - Chapter 41

IDMH - Chapter 41

I Decided My Husband

Sir Aldor was the least emotional person I knew. In particular, he rarely showed it even if there was something he didn't like or was uncomfortable with.

Of course, he was worried when my father tried to do something dangerous, but he never showed such obvious discomfort. However, it was surprising that he openly showed signs of discomfort.

This meant that he felt uncomfortable with Perdes, so I was a little worried about whether I could entrust Perdes' education to him.

'It'll be okay, right?'

The Sir Aldor I knew was not one to get caught up in personal emotions and not do what he had to do.

"Sor Aldor, there is something I would like to ask you."

So, I thought I could trust him and leave it to him, so I brought up the story.

"I would like to entrust the education of His Highness the Prince to you."

"What?"

I spoke to Sir Aldor, but Perdes answered on his behalf.

"What kind of nonsense is that all of a sudden? Is this guy the one who trained me?"

"That's literally it."

"No."

Perdes shook his head, clearly showing his displeasure.

"I don't want to learn anything from this guy."

I could roughly guess why Sir Aldor disliked Perdes.

The spouse I choose will later become Duke Leopold and the Lord that Sir Aldor must serve.

However, since I chose the 4th Prince, who was famous for being an idiot and half-hearted, it was clear that he did not like it.

In fact, when I chose the 4th Prince, Sir Aldor showed his displeasure. But I didn't understand why Perdes disliked him.

Did Sir Aldor do something mean to Perdes?

He's not that type of person.

While I was looking at Perdes in confusion, Sir Aldor, who had been silent the whole time, spoke.

"I also don't feel like taking charge of His Highness's education, Young Lady."

It was surprising that Sir Aldor would refuse my request, but the reason was even more unexpected.

Even if he refused, I thought he would say that he wasn't capable enough or that he couldn't do it right now because he was busy, but he didn't feel like it.

As I looked at him in confusion, Sir Aldor drew his lips into a straight line, thought for a moment, and then opened his mouth again.

"I don't feel like it, but since it's your request, I'll do it."

"Thank you."

When I expressed my sincere gratitude, Sir Aldor smiled faintly. I thought this would be enough to last another hour, but another ambush remained.

"I do not want to."

It was Perdes. He crossed his arms and said dissatisfiedly.

"If this is because the Duke's retainers are talking about how I should have a certain level of dignity as the Lady's fiancé, then please give me a proper education."

He heard that. Well, he also has ears, so there's no way he couldn't hear what people were talking about.

"I'm sorry, Your Highness."

I didn't mean to, but I felt bad for hurting his feelings and apologized. Then Perdes crossed his arms and waved his hand.

"It's okay. It all sounds correct, but there is no need for the Young Lady to apologize."

Perdes turned to Sir Aldor.

"So please give me a proper education system. I want to be worthy of being the fiancé of a Young Lady, I don't want to become a knight."

Oh, he said he didn't want to learn from Sir Aldor because he was afraid of being trained as a knight.

"I think you're misunderstanding something, but I also have no intention of making you a knight."

If our relationship didn't stop at engagement and continued into marriage, Perdes had to become a knight. To become the head of the Leopold family, known as the Sword of the Empire, he had to have a knighthood.

Of course, since it was not stipulated by law, there were exceptions.

Chernosor became my husband in my first life, and he was one of those exceptions.

I, a descendant of Duke Leopold's family, was opposed to becoming a Duke because I had no knighthood, but Chernosor was allowed.

'How funny.'

No matter how many times I thought about it, it was absurd.

This meant that the Emperor's influence had a strong influence on the aristocracy, so it was written in the mouth as if chewing medicinal herbs.

Of course, the noble council did not blindly oppose me becoming a Duke. The reasons they gave were sufficiently valid and justified.

So, we must prepare perfectly so that no one can give such reasons and that no one dares to raise doubts and doubts about me succeeding Duke Leopold.

"Sir Aldor is the second son of Viscount Shanktys, one of the vassal families of Duke Leopold, and received a proper noble education from an early age."

To do this, I really needed Perdes' help, so I explained it step by step even though it was a little annoying.

"Plus, he graduated from the Knight Academy at the top of his class."

"... This man?"

Perdes looked Sir Aldor up and down, looking slightly surprised.

Sir Aldor's expression was slightly crumpled, perhaps because he felt bad about that gaze.

"Your Highness."

There was nothing good about the relationship between the two becoming worse than it is now, so I stopped him. Then Perdes snorted and looked at me again.

"So what does graduating from the Knight Academy at the top of his class have to do with teaching me? You say you have no intention of making me a knight?"

"To graduate from the Knight Academy, you must complete not only swordsmanship but also various subjects such as martial arts, history, ballroom dancing, medicine, humanities, and rhetoric."

"The bottom line is that this guy got excellent grades in all of those subjects."

"Yes. So Sir Aldor will have no shortage of teaching you."

It might be true that Perdes was above a certain level, but since that was not the case, considering many aspects, Sir Aldor was the perfect teacher.

"So, I will ask you to educate His Highness, Sir Aldor."

When I asked again, Sir Aldor nodded.

"All right."

"I didn't say I accepted it yet?"

Perdes interjected as if it were extremely absurd. Even though I explained it that way, he still don't understand.

I sighed inwardly and was about to explain again when Perdes glanced at Sir Aldor from the corner of his eye and nodded.

"Good. I will accept the Lady's offer."

"Really?"

Is this problem finally being solved?

"Huh. Instead, the Lady herself will guide me to the territory."

"Me?"

What kind of nonsense is this?

Not only me but also Sir Aldor looked at Perdes with puzzled eyes. Perdes crossed his arms and lifted his chin.

"I listened to what the Young Lady wanted, so you should also listen to what I wanted."

That... Yes.

Although it was a bit absurd, I couldn't refute it because it wasn't wrong.

When I nodded willingly, a mountain of documents piled up on my desk stopped me. Can I do all of this while giving Perdes a tour of the estate?

I guess it would be possible if I reduced my sleeping time...

"The education you will receive in the future will be of great help to your life."

While I was thinking about it, Sir Aldor spoke to Perdes.

"It will be even more helpful, especially if you become His Excellency Duke Leopold in the future."

"...I will become Duke Leopold?"

"Yes. If you become the official spouse in the future, you will receive the title of Duke of Leopold. Are you sure you didn't know that simple fact?"

Sir Aldor asked a bit sarcastically, but Perdes did not answer and just looked at me. The look in his eyes was like, 'This guy doesn't know that?'

What Perdes was talking about seemed like he was talking about taking revenge on the Emperor, so I nodded.

Then Perdes' face, which had been crumpled in disapproval, straightened up.

"Oh, I did."

The smoothly lifted lips showed a sense of composure.

"I forgot for a moment. I guess I was too focused on acting like an idiot."

"Sometimes I wonder if His Royal Highness is really acting."

"Does that mean I'm that good at acting? Thank you for the compliment."

"..."

Sir Aldor seemed to be at a loss for words due to the 180-degree change in reaction from before, but he kept his mouth shut.

I too was curious about Perdes's changed attitude and looked at him.

Was there some kind of change of heart?

Even so, I don't think there was any particular reason for that.

"So are you going to guide me?"

Even though the attitude changed, the proposal did not change.

Hmm, what should I do?

I answered after checking the piled-up documents and schedule checked on the desk calendar.

"I can't do it tomorrow, but I can make some time the day after tomorrow afternoon."

"That's enough. It is important for the Lady to personally guide me through the territory at any time."

Why are you looking at Sir Aldor while answering me?

"Then when can I start receiving education?"

This part should be Sir Aldor's time, not mine, so I asked him.

"Sir Aldor, how far has it been in organizing the knights?"

Sir Aldor was in charge of organizing the Order, which had become chaotic after the sudden death of my father, who was the leader of the Order.

"It's almost done. At the current rate, I think it will be resolved within four days."

"Still, I don't know what will happen, so let's reschedule once the knights are sorted out."

Originally, I was planning on sending him out of the family as soon as the arrangement was completed, but it ended up being postponed again. This doesn't mean I can't send Lord Aldor out.

Swallowing his slightly anxious heart, Sir Aldor explained in detail the subjects he would teach Perdes from now on.

Sir Aldor, who had been listening intently, asked in puzzlement.

"Am I also teaching administration and politics?"

When I nodded, Sir Aldor was silent for a moment and then asked a gain.

"Are you really planning to entrust the Dukedom of Leopold and the duchy to His Highness the Prince?"

The question was whether I was going to make Perdes a Duke.

"For now..."

I have no intention of doing so, but I can't tell you that.

However, I expressed it differently because I was afraid that Sir Aldor would later ask, 'You said that back then.'

It was doubtful whether Sir Aldor would even exist by then.

Then Sir Aldor's expression became strange. He must be worried about Perdes, who is rumored to be an idiot, becoming a Duke.

Sir Aldor knew he wasn't really an idiot, but his public image was cause for concern.

"Don't worry too much, Sir Aldor."

Because it won't happen like you think. I wanted to say that, but I couldn't and laughed.

Sir Aldor stared at my face, then bowed his head and went out.
