TAPGB - Chapter 17

The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride

[... Isn't something going on?]

It had only been 10 minutes since Caesar left. But why do I still have this ominous feeling?

Lucian is smart, so he won't do anything dangerous. No, he can enter the realm of beasts without even knowing how to do it.

Many thoughts flowed one after another. At the end. I imagined Lucian becoming food for an animal and disappearing forever.

[Unlucky thought.]

That can't be possible. Lucian will definitely emerge safely.

It's not my wish, It has to be that way. Otherwise, what will happen to me...

Bang-!

"Ghost! This guy is going to die!"

At that time, the door burst open and Caesar appeared. At his words, my soul dispersed for a moment.

[Lucian!]

I hurriedly approached Caesar. Lucian in his arms looked different from when he saw him in the afternoon.

There was no sound, his clothes were covered in mud and sweat, his whole body turned red and he was breathing heavily.

"This guy's fever is no joke. He's going to die like this."

I bit her lower lip and took Lucian from Caesar's arms. Caesar stopped when he saw Lucian floating in the air.

Ignoring whether Caesar was watching or not, I focused all my attention on Lucian.

I quickly went up to the second floor and got some water in the bathroom. I was so shocked that I couldn't use my magic at will. I couldn't wrap my mana properly, so my hands kept slipping.

I felt like I was going to drop Lucian if I continued like this, so I put him down on the floor for a moment.

[Shit! I don't know how to use healing magic!]

I was scared that if this continued Lucian would really die.

"Leah..."

A hoarse, ungainly voice was heard. I lifted my head and looked at Lucian. He must have cried so much that his brilliant golden eyes could not be seen properly due to his swollen eyelids. But the water was gathering between the eyelids.

[Shh, don't cry. Everything is okay now. I'm with you.]

"Sorry. I only said mean things to Leah..."

I tried to scream like usual, but I bit my lip.

[No, I'm more sorry. I should have found you sooner. No, I shouldn't let you go into the forest...]

"...Are you forgiving me??

[Forgiveness and all. You didn't do anything wrong. So get some rest first. Because I will continue to be by your side.]

"Hehehe..."

Scarred cheeks, torn lips, and swollen eyes. Despite his poor appearance, his smile immediately calmed my anxious heart. After that laugh, Lucian fell into a sleep that was close to fainting.

"Hey, ghost. Is the kid okay?"

While I was in the middle of filling the bathtub with water. Caesar came in with a quick glance.

He looked around, seeing that the room and bathroom were noticeably different from before. I looked at Caesar and took the stone tablet from the room, and I wrote.

Thank you. Thanks to you, my child was able to live.

Huh. Throughout his life, he heard people say they were thankful to him.

"Even when I gave you a gift, you never said thank you."

Caesar was a little embarrassed and then grumbled bluntly. I chuckled at that.

I know that you always come for me. Of course. I appreciate that too.

"Hehehe! Is that so?"

I owe a lot to Caesar. Honestly, if it wasn't for him, I might never have found Lucian.

If Caesar had been a human and not a dragon, he would not have been able to find Lucian so easily. Since he is a dragon who freely uses magic...

[Ah! That's right, there was one!]

I remembered something and hurriedly wrote on the slate.

Do you know how to do healing magic?

"Healing magic? Of course. I'm pretty good even among hatchlings? Mom said I have a natural talent for magic."

It just worked out well.

Then please treat this child. There is no way I can treat the child on my own.

“Eeeeeek-!”

Caesar was openly disgusted and showed his dislike. Caesar, who was looking at Lucian with disapproving eyes, pointed his finger at the stone tablet that I was holding.

"You seem to keep forgetting things. I'm a dragon?"

Yes, I know.

"A guy I know is Just asking me to run an errand! Threatening me all the time! Now you're telling me to treat people like that? Why me!"

I'm a good listener, so I thought he would say he understood this time too, but that wasn't the case?

"You need to know that I care about you. Do you know if there's anyone else in the world who swings a dragon around other than you? If my mother finds out, you and this  mansion will be burned to the ground."

[Anyway, whenever I try to be good to him, he always ruins the mood with that snout.]

"And what is he in the first place? At most, she's a human who can't live even 100 years! Why do you care so much?"

[Huh?]

I blinked at the tone of voice that seemed to be more than just annoyed but somewhat sad.

When I looked closely, I saw that Caesar was puffing out his cheeks. What is this disgusting guy who is almost 300 years old doing?

"I always tell humans to fuck off! At 50, they kicked me out for setting their ass on fire, so why is he being treated specially? Be nice to me too!"

Whining.

The dragon's whining was truly beyond imagination. Moreover, since he was polymorphed into an adult male, the sight of him lying on the floor and being stubborn was truly terrifying.

I realized a new truth. No matter how handsome and beautiful the shell may be if the core is small. It is of no use.

"I want you to be good to me too!"

The dragon went on a rampage, causing the mansion to shake slightly.

"Uhm."

Finally, when Lucian, who was sleeping, started moaning, I finally raised my hands and feet.

Okay, okay. I'll be good!

I hurriedly put the slate in front of his nose, and he stopped like a lie.

"Really?"

[Wow. I want to hit you.]

Lia wrote while trying to suppress the swearing that was about to come out of her mouth.

Okay. I'll do the same to you as Lucian, so please stop.

"Who is Lucian? Oh, the boy?"

As the stone slab was shaken up and down, Caesar slightly pursed his lips and glanced at Lucian.

Lucian even moaned and couldn't come to his senses from the excitement.

"If I treat him, what will you do for me?"

I'll call you pretty.

"You should do that on a regular basis."

[Baby bastard. There are so many things I wish for.]

Then what do you want?

"Hmm well..."

[If you don't know what you want, just keep quiet! Look at Lucian's face! I'll be out of breath in a little while!]

Lucian's situation was gradually worsening, and Caesar, who was easygoing, was just obnoxious. However, since there was no one else who could treat Lucian, I used my secret trick.

I'll give it to you.

"Huh?"

I'll give you one of the things you want from the mansion you coveted last time.

Caesar's eyes widened. As expected, there were quite a few things he coveted among the items in the mansion.

It's something that's hard to find these days or something. Anyway, he was always looking for things from the mansion, but one time he was caught stealing and got scolded harshly.

Because of that record, I never allowed him to touch anything from the mansion. However, I am not lending it, and I am willing to give it to him, so from Caesar's point of view, he is the same as getting caught.

"Um, uh, really? You don't have anything else to say?"

Okay.

"Then I'll get Raphael's ring!"

[This bastard, that is my favorite...]

"No, no. Not that, the Spear in the Sky!  Weapons made by that maker are now hard to find!"

[ When did you enter the armory? You never told me about it?]

"No, would I rather use Trin's compass? Wow! What should I choose so that I can be known for choosing the right one?"

[This bastard is so determined to rob me. Isn't he? How did he end up picking out all the expensive things that were hidden all over the place?]

Caesar was in constant agony, choosing and choosing things over and over again. The more it happened, the worse Lucian's condition became. I got so restless that I smashed the chalk.

Kikigeek- Kkiiii-!

"Ahh! It's the sound I hate the most!"

I'll give you anything, so just save him quickly!

Caesar Immediately crumpled after seeing the handwriting scrawled in anger. Then he grunted and approached Lucian.

"Hmph. I know it's an honor. A dragon that saves humans. If my mom finds out, she'll scold me a lot."

Contrary to his words, Caesar wiped away the smile on his face and opened his mouth. Be healed.

It is the exclusive property of dragons. It is the ability to use magic using just a single phrase without chanting or magic circles. White, holy light poured out from Caesar's fingertips and permeated every part of Lucian's body. Then, in less than 10 seconds, everything from his minor cuts to major wounds began to heal.

His torn mouth and swollen eyes gradually recovered to their original state, and he looked much healthier than before entering the forest.

His breathing could be heard evenly.

[Ha, thank goodness...]

This allows me to take a breather. I washed Lucian, who was fully recovered. Caesar said, leaning against the bathroom door after seeing that.

"But what on earth is this kid doing here? I think it definitely wasn't there when I came here before. Have you raised the human?"

Come to think of it, I haven't said it yet.

I wrote down my relationship with Lucian on a stone tablet. Caesar saw that and reacted belatedly.

"What what what?! Married?! With this kid?"

Okay, so don't treat my husband rudely from now on.

Caesar was even more dumbfounded by the text that followed.

Thanks to that, I was able to quietly wash Lucian.

***

Ssaaaa-

A strong wind blew in the dark forest. The leaves swayed with the wind, and an eerie sound was heard. In it, Lucian ran aimlessly, and an eerie sound...

Huh, huh, huh, huh.....!

When he looked back, he saw wolves running towards him, drooling.

'Uh, I have to go to Lia quickly...'

He knew it instinctively. If he is caught by a wolf now, he will not be able to save your life. The moment Lucian looked back in front, his foot got caught on a tree root that he had not seen before. Lucian lost his balance and fell hard.

There were stones everywhere, so he felt a dull pain all over his body.

"Ugh, it hurts... Oh!"

After moaning at the sharp pain he felt in his knees and palms, Lucian realized for a moment that he was being chased and raised his head.

But it was already too late. The wolves that were far away soon arrived right in front of him and surrounded him.

At that moment, what came to mind was Leah, not the family he had never seen.

Leah...

Is he going to die like this? Lucian only said mean things to Leah and broke up with her. He should have listened to Leah.

His heart is pounding.

He couldn't tell if it was because his heart was constantly pounding or if he was reacting out of fear.

But this one thing was certain, he didn't want to die like this. He has to get back to Leah no matter what.

However, against his will, his body, which had already reached its limit, did not move, and physiological tears blocked his vision.

Crumbling-

A wolf that looked like a leader approached with his teeth bared. Lucian reflexively raised his arms and closed his eyes.

He knew it was the end, but no matter how long he waited, he couldn't feel the pain.

Rather, the cool breeze gently enveloped his entire body. When he opened his eyes, the thief he saw in the forest was standing there. After defeating the wolves, the thief looked at him.

He was nervous about what would come out of his mouth.

"Why don't you wake up like this?'

Huh?

A much younger voice was heard than the voice he first heard. With that, his charismatic face was crushed and he took on a strange appearance.

It had a strange appearance that seemed either lizard-like or human-like.

"Hey! Kid! Get up now!"

Lucian suddenly opened his eyes at the sound of a voice that resonated in his brain.
