TAPGB - Chapter 16

The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride Episode

"Oh, shit. We've finally arrived."

A man who had wandered in the forest for half a day let go of his worries when he saw a mansion in the distance.

In his heart, he wanted to return to his original self, but he knew that if he did that, his mother and elders would nag him until he got scabs in his ears, so he had to be patient and suppress his frustration as much as possible.

"Really, I'm an adult now. I made it all the way here safely without setting fire to the forest, right?"

The man praised himself and walked lightly towards the mansion.

"Leah.. Leah..."

But then a young voice came from somewhere, the man stopped in his tracks and looked around him. His green pupils turned like snakes and caught sight of the boy a kilometer away.

"Human kid?"

Have you ever seen humans wandering around in this forest? There is no child that small.

The man, aroused by curiosity, jumped up from his seat. His hair fluttered in the sky and he moved to the boy's side in an instant. To be exact, he took ten steps back so the boy wouldn't notice.

"W-Where am I? Leah.... I was wrong!"

The boy the man was looking at was Lucian. He walked while crying until he reached the depths of the forest and was completely lost.

As time passed and Lucian could not return to the mansion, anxiety rose up to his ankles. To make matters worse, he fell over a tree root and his whole body was a mess, and the corners of his eyes were swollen from crying so much.

"It hurts..."

Lucian eventually stopped dead in his seat and sat down.

'I'm hungry, my whole body hurts, and I feel dirty and uncomfortable. I missed Leah.'

Even though he knew that Leah couldn't enter the forest, he kept calling her. Thanks to that, his voice became quite hoarse.

Even in the eyes of a man who could not feel any emotions towards humans, Lucian looked especially miserable.

The man who tried to just ignore him ended up standing in front of Lucian.

Lucian was so surprised that he hiccuped when he saw the man who suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Hey, Kid."

"Hi! Who are you?"

"You don't know anything. What are you doing here now?"

"I'm lost."

Where do you live? Can you take me there?"

Looking at the sparkling eyes the man spoke bluntly.

"I saw what you were doing. So where do you live?"

"A mansion near the forest. It's a two-story mansion, the roof is black and the bricks, ah! There's a lot of moss!"

The man who was quietly listening to Lucian felt a sense of déjà vu. It's a house that seems familiar.

"Don't you live in the village?"

"No, I don't live in that town."

"Then who do you live with?"

"Why do you keep asking? Are you a thief?"

As the man kept asking for personal information, Lucian felt strange.

Lucian remembered the 50 precautions that Leah gave him before going down to the village.

It was said that among those who approach in a friendly way, there are also those who try to rob innocent people. Their characteristic is that they keep asking for personal information.

Lucian stiffened his body and took a step back so that he could run away at any time.

"Who is calling me a thief now?"

"Ugh!"

When the man shouted. Lucian was startled and reflexively ran away. The man blinked when he saw Lucian who had already gone far away.

"What is it? At best, this body tried to help."

It seems like Lucian going deeper into the forest.

"Isn't it any of my business?"

The man immediately gave up his interest in Lucian and headed towards the direction where the mansion was located, If he walked for about 30 minutes, a mansion appeared.

"It's been a few years."

4 years? 5 years? He was recently stuck in a cold area and stuck in an ice cave, and he lost track of time.

Je could have stayed longer if that bastard hadn't kicked him out.

"But it's okay since I came to my nest, okay?"

He expected that if he said this, the ghost would run rampant, telling him that this was her house.

The man chuckled and walked lightly towards the mansion. He was excited to see how the ghost would welcome him.

***

[Lucian. you bastard! He's not going to come in at all, right?!]

Lewh huffed and sat down in front of the front door, waiting for Lucian to come.

Two hours have passed since he ran into the forest, and he still hasn't come back.

I thought it would be dinner time and he would come crawling in, but I wondered what would happen if he showed his guts like he did when he went to the basement.

[No! I can never lose. Since I always accept it, you get angry this time too.]

I couldn't understand why Lucian was stubborn even though he clearly knew why he couldn't use a sword.

I didn't let him hold the sword for fear of getting hurt, so he cried and threw a tantrum, lying down on the floor like a person whose world had collapsed.

The shock was even greater because he was a kind and gentle kid.

[Just come in. I will have to scold you a lot.]

Squeak.

At that time, the door opened. Leah uncrossed her arms and approached him as if she had been waiting.

[You! What time is it? Come in now! I did it wrong. I didn't do it... Uh?]

"Voila! This body appears!"

I, who had been nagging because she thought it was Lucian, opened my eyes wide at the appearance of an unexpected person.

 [Caesar!]

"Haha! Are you happy to see me? I know, I know, I brought this and that with me this time. So please hurry up and welcome this body."

Caesar. He had been frequenting the mansion since Leah had been living there for about 50 years, and he would visit her mansion once every four or five years to tell her stories about the outside world. As you might expect, he is not human.

[Lizard bastard! Why are you out there!]

He's a lizard... No, it's a red dragon. This is the dragon that has disappeared from the world for a long time and is now known to be extinct.

Caesar was self-absorbed, his red hair flowing. Leah was dumbfounded for a moment, then brought a stone tablet nearby and wrote.

"Oh oh! Write, write."

For reference, Caesar cannot see Leah. But he knew of her presence and communicated their conversation through the words she wrote on his stone tablet.

What are you doing here?

"What the hell! I took a precious step because I was afraid that you would wait for this body forever."

[It's worthless.]

You invaded another rare and got kicked out, right?

Caesar's shoulders trembled when he saw what Leah had written on the stone tablet. He was sweating and looked away awkwardly.

"Hmm! Do you know what kind of snobby hatchling I am? I'm all grown up now! Five years from now. I'll be an adult!"

 [It's a shame, really.]

I heard you have a lot of courage for a subject who is only 295 years old.

"Are you upset that I'm coming to your house?"

[What is your house! Are you going to drive me away with tears and snot like before?!]

As Leah waved the letters with anger in her eyes, Caesar giggled.

Still, it was nice to see it after a long time. Because before Lucian, he was the only one who could communicate with her.

Of course, since he can't see her, they have to communicate only through stone tablets, which limits communication.

"I brought you a huge gift! Look at this!"

Caesar quickly sat down where the sofa was and opened the subspace, spilling out various items.

Starting with bizarre items, there were accessories, magic tools, and all kinds of books.

He is indeed. She has no idea how hard he worked to get here.

"Don't you feel like I've become a bit mature just by not burning down the forest?"

If the forest had been burned down, you would have been trapped in Mother Lair and not be able to come out until adult.

"Ugh, you know me too well."

He grumbled, wondering if it would be any good if Caesar praised her.

"Oh right. Did I see some human kid on the way?"

I, who had been looking through the gifts indifferently, stopped at his words.

"It looks like he is lost. I tried my best to help him, but he ran away."

My hands were shaking. I was about to scream before I hastily picked up my slate and scrawled writing.

What does he look like?

"What does it look like? I don't know because I didn't look at him properly?"

[Why don't you look at him! You should have seen it properly!]

"Oh, by the way, he said he lives in a mansion near the forest. A two-story house with a black roof and mossy bricks... Uh? Isn't that this mansion?"

[Lucian!!]

I jumped up from my seat. As I got excited, the gifts near me all floated in the air. Surprised, Caesar bent his raised finger.

You! Where did you see him? Is he still in the forest?

"Why are you like this?"

Caesar, who didn't know what was going on, just stared blankly, and my insides were burning.

Shut up and speak quickly!

"The ferocity. Well, I don't know where he is now. I told you, he ran away when he saw me. Wouldn't he have been bearing food by now?"

Crack!

There were cracks in the nearby windows. Not only that, but the candles that had been lighting up the room flickered on and off repeatedly, making the entire house glow ominously.

Caesar felt something was out of the ordinary and rolled his eyes.

Bring him here right now...

"Why? Do you know him?"

Yes, I know him very well. So bring him quickly.

"Hmph. I hate it. Why me?"

Kang-!

Caesar closed his mouth as he saw the knife narrowly grazing his cheek.

(Go quickly when I say something nice.]

If you don't. I'll fold you in half.

Only after I broke the stone slab in two did Caesar move from his seat. He shouted that he wasn't going because he was scared, but his legs were shaking.

Either way, all of my attention was focused on Lucian in the forest. The sun has set and night has fallen.

I could only hope that he would be safe until Caesar left.

***

"Ah, why would I bother a ghost!"

Although Caesar was grumbling, he entered the forest under my order. Now that it's like this, is he going to delay it on purpose and leave late at all?

OK. What I'm saying is that you want to die by my hands.

When the phrase to be written on the slate came to mind, he immediately shook his head.

Well, let's not fuss either. Because there is nothing good to be gained from touching that ghost.

"How dare you bother this body! For such an insignificant human subject!"

My mother was right. That there was nothing good about being associated with humans. Caesar gritted his teeth as he looked back at Lucian's now blurred face. A roar more terrifying than that of an animal was heard, and flames flew from the corner of his mouth. At the same time, his pupils turned like snakes. Then the dark forest became clear as day. With the intention of quickly finding out what had happened, Caesar scanned the forest area.

"Leaaah..."

"Found."

A child's voice was heard from afar. Caesar immediately jumped to his feet.

Tung.

A small gust of wind blew and he immediately moved next to Lucian. At that moment, Lucian was in crisis. Because a pack of wolves were surrounding him.

If Caesar had been just a minute later, he would have become food for the wolves.

At the appearance of Caesar, Lucian barely lifted his tear-filled eyes, and the wolves lowered their tails a nd trembled.

"How dare a mere animal look up to someone like me."

Caesar's words penetrated their brain. At that, half of the wolves were foaming at the mouth, and half were in a panic, screaming as if they were going to tear themselves apart. Only after the beasts had completely retreated did Caesar live.

When he looked back, he saw Lucian looking even more disorganized than when he saw him about an hour ago.

"Hey, kid."

"Leah?"

"Who is Leah? If I were to speak in person, it would be the noble red dragon, Caesar... Uh, uh! Hey!"

Caesar about to tell him to bow his head and worship, but Lucian suddenly fell forward. Caesar was so embarrassed that he braced himself just before he fell to the floor.

"What, your whole body is a ball of fire?"

This situation is more serious than he thought. Symptoms of dehydration, bruises and abrasions all over the body, and even body aches.

"I think if the ghost sees it, she will go on a rampage."

Somehow he had an ominous feeling. Caesar was tempted to just lie and say that the little boy was dead, but he didn't know what to say, so he hugged him.

"Really! Where is the guy who sends the dragon on errands?"

Caesar screamed so loudly that the forest echoed, and then spread his wings, which had shrunk to their polymorph state.

He flapped his wings once and flew out of the forest in an instant. The forest where the dragon escaped gradually regains peace.
