Episode 82. You Don't Need to Worry
Time in Hamuel flowed like water, and before she knew it, the morning of the day to return to the capital had dawned.
Olivia and Noah were planning to stop in Lorewell on their way back to the capital city of Herrington, so they hurried to get ready early in the morning.
But an unexpected guest showed up just as breakfast was ending.
"Your Highness, Your Highness. I apologize for the sudden visit."
Noah frowned at Meson's appearance, put down the teacup he was holding, and immediately stood up.
“Liv, you finish it.”
He left a brief message for Olivia, who was about to get up, and then nodded to Meson.
“Follow me.”
Noah left Olivia behind and went out onto the balcony, and Meson greeted Olivia with an awkward expression before hurriedly following the Prince.
As the two stepped onto the balcony, the attendant at their side closed the door and the curtains. Their silhouettes were visible against the curtains, but no voices could be heard.
As Olivia stood there, staring out at the balcony, the head maid approached her and spoke affectionately.
“Please finish eating.”
She sat down at her suggestion, but ended up not eating anymore.
Meanwhile, Noah asked bluntly as soon as the balcony door closed.
“Are you talking nonsense at Wilhelm’s?”
If there was anything Meson could do right now, it was that. Indeed, as he had thought, Meson nodded.
His beautiful face, once tinged with nervousness, slowly relaxed. A stranger might have thought he was feeling better and his expression had brightened, but the truth was the opposite.
His current state was the precarious stillness of water on the verge of boiling, the precarious stillness just before a storm.
“Be specific.”
"He offered his condolences on the natural disaster and expressed his respect for His Royal Highness's efforts in saving precious lives. However, he said that since there were no defects in the Magic Dome, it was deeply regrettable that His Royal Highness had torn it apart."
Noah stood still, looking out at the garden, and muttered softly.
“That’s fun.”
“...”
“So that means I should have died there.”
Noah stared intently at a leaf with a completely withered tip and then gave an order.
"Contact the people you've narrowed down. Tell them not to fund Wilhelm."
Ansen Wilhelm likely assumed he could always raise funds even if Noah Astrid's planned investment disappeared. That's why he's babbling like this.
“Shall I send a withdrawal letter?”
“I will decide after meeting His Majesty.”
"All right."
Noah had a wry laugh on his lips.
The Polia royal family is ruined, and he guesses he looks ridiculous. Or maybe he's blinded by jealousy and has lost his mind.
You little thief, how dare you climb up here?
The door that had been shut suddenly opened.
Olivia, who had been sitting upright in her chair, quickly stood up. Her eyes quickly scanned Noah's face.
Olivia was used to reading other people's emotions, and because Noah and Margot looked so much alike, she quickly realized that his mood was at rock bottom.
Noah asked Olivia as he put on the jacket the servant handed him.
“Is there a reason you have to stop by Lorewell?”
Olivia shook her head quickly, certain that something was wrong.
"No. You don't have to stop by today. Are you going to the capital now?"
“Yes. Get ready, Liv.”
"All right."
So, the Prince and his wife finished their preparations in the blink of an eye and boarded the carriage heading to the capital.
Olivia, who had been heavily influenced by corsets, was wearing an empire-style dress that did not require a corset, with a robe-style coat over it.
“Please take care on your way back. We will always take care of the mansion so that you can feel comfortable whenever you come back.”
“Thank you. Take care.”
Leaving behind the head maid's polite greeting, Olivia left Hamuel. She gazed at the mansion receding into the distance, then turned her gaze to the carriage interior.
Noah, sitting across from her, was busy reviewing the documents Meson, sitting next to him, handed him. Meson, too, seemed busy, checking off various items with a pen and exchanging opinions with Noah.
Olivia stared blankly at the sight, then pulled out a newspaper from the carriage. It was only a few days old, and it turned out to be today's morning paper. The front page contained an article about the Crown Prince's upcoming overseas trip.
After quickly reading the article, she turned to the next page, where she found the story of Olivia and Noah. Seeing her face in the article was more embarrassing than she expected.
Olivia ignored page two and turned her gaze to page three. For a moment, her brows hardened slightly.
[Wilhelm informs shipping companies that violate contract terms of the contract to withdraw their contracts.]
Under the eye-catching headline, a photo of Ansen Wilhelm appeared. Olivia quickly read the article with a stern expression.
Ultimately, Ansen Wilhelm refused to acknowledge the Magic Dome's defects. Although he didn't directly protest to Prince Noah, he held the shipping company responsible for allowing him to tear it down. Thus, he could be said to have indirectly expressed his dissatisfaction with the Prince.
“...Libero Aquitaine also has close ties to the Pulder financial community. Since he still resides in the capital, I would like to request a meeting.”
At the sound of Meson's soft voice, Olivia slowly looked up from her newspaper and gazed at Noah. His face, lowered, was frighteningly cool and composed.
Olivia hesitated for a moment, then carefully opened her mouth.
“Are you having trouble because you dismantled the Magic Dome machine room?”
At her sudden voice, Noah and Meson both raised their heads.
Noah relaxed his hardened eyebrows as he looked at Olivia's elegant face.
“Don’t worry about it, Liv.”
“...Wilhelm will probably never admit to a mechanical defect.”
“I know. It doesn’t matter.”
“...”
"By that kid's logic, we should have become fish food in that sea. That's ridiculous."
Noah glanced at the newspaper spread across Olivia's lap. There was a picture of Ansen Wilhelm on it.
Noah reached out and retrieved the newspaper, pulling out the page with Ansen Wilhelm's face on it. He then returned the rest of the paper and added:
"Don't mind."
Even the fact that Ansen Wilhelm knew Olivia's name was repugnant. The fact that he had placed Olivia in the palm of his hand and tried to manipulate her as he pleased was also repugnant.
As he remembered her walking down the old road and crying, Noah once again reflected on his promise.
Olivia, standing beside him, will walk only on well-paved paths, not on old stone paths, and will receive only sunlight in the peaceful garden.
"You have no need to worry or be concerned. So, stop worrying and read a book."
Olivia couldn't help but nod at his words, which were almost like a declaration.
Meanwhile, Meson looked at Noah with his mouth wide open in amazement.
Oh my god.
"There's no need to worry, and don't be concerned." How many times has he said that? Someone who absolutely hates being told twice?
As expected, you didn't go all the way to Pulder.
Then Noah turned his head and looked at Meson.
“...”
How can a person's eyes change like this?
“Shut your mouth.”
"Yes."
At those cold words, Meson quickly closed his gaping mouth and averted his gaze.
The carriage carrying the three men raced toward Herod's palace without a moment's rest, and Olivia didn't speak to Noah anymore. No, she couldn't.
She turned her head slightly, and her gaze caught the edge of the vast cosmos hill, which then disappeared.
About two hours later.
Olivia and Noah arrived at Herod's palace.
As was customary, the entire royal family gathered to greet them. Leonard greeted Olivia before Noah.
"Olivia! Come on in. You've been busy coming and going."
“I’m back, Your Majesty.”
But the overall atmosphere was chaotic. This was due to Leonard's attitude, and Beatrix, unable to bear it any longer, finally spoke up.
“The Princess and I will greet each other separately, so Your Majesty, please go and discuss with the Prince whatever you wish to discuss.”
“Oh, then is that so?”
“No, Your Highness. It was comfortable.”
Noah looked at Olivia and spoke softly.
“If you’re tired, you go back first.”
Then, before Olivia could answer, he looked at his mother and said.
“I’m back. If I get longer, please let Olivia go to the mansion, Mother.”
“Yes, I understand.”
But this time, Lucy suddenly intervened.
“Then, could you please stay with me?”
Olivia smiled and nodded, her sparkling blue eyes so cute.
“Yes, that’s right, Princess.”
“Wow!”
Noah chuckled as Lucy got excited.
“Yes, then show me your toy room.”
Noah glanced back and forth between Lucy and Olivia, then turned to Usher, who was waiting for him with a grin.
Beatrix stared at Noah's face intently and burst out laughing.
“Princess, you don’t have to worry about getting lost anywhere.”
"Yes?"
Olivia's eyes widened at the sudden remark, but Beatrix stopped walking through the door and looked at her son, who was staring at her.
“What are you doing, Noah? Why don’t you hurry up and go?”
At his mother's urging, Noah let out a small sigh and soon disappeared.
