Queen of Villains - Chapter 141

<Episode 141: Side Story (5)>

When Emily and Killian returned to the mansion together, Cezanne, Chili, and Roxy were the first to greet them.

“Are you here?”

The three of them, seeing Emily's condition and realizing that their plan had succeeded, breathed a sigh of relief, saying, "Now, that's it!"

Emily, who was debating whether to be angry or praise them for deceiving her, decided to just let the incident pass without saying anything.

She was too physically and mentally exhausted to bother with this right now.

“Oh my, Your Excellency the Duke!”

Marlene, who had just come out of the guest room, saw them standing in the hallway and quickly came down the stairs.

“I heard you were hurt. Judging by the way you came here, I guess it wasn’t serious.”

“Oh, yes.”

Killian didn't know how to react to Marlene's words, so he gave a short and appropriate response.

“Oh my, look at all the scratches. Construction sites are truly...”

Marlene sighed in relief, thinking that he didn't seem to be seriously hurt, considering how much the maids had been fussing over him.

'You got scratched?'

Only then did Emily get a clear look at Killian's arm. Her face flushed bright red at the sight of the wound on his forearm, where his sleeve had been rolled up.

That was the wound she inflicted last night.

***

Just as a child becomes addicted to the taste of chocolate after tasting it for the first time, Killian's love affair was unstoppable once he crossed the line.

Someone was suffering from the scorching heat that was enough to heat up the entire Velvet Duke's mansion, and a meeting was eventually called.

“Whoever represents the boss, tie him up.”

“How do you tie up the boss anyway?”

“That’s not the boss we knew, it’s a beast.”

Of course, the one who suffered the most among them was the old bachelor Alvin.

“I can't do this, no, I won't do it anymore! I'm quitting.”

Even while eating, if his eyes suddenly met with his wife's, Killian would throw Alvin, who was serving him, out of the dining room with a chilling voice, making the old bachelor shed tears of blood.

“Mayo, you little punk, in this situation, you should have sent the food to his room yourself!”

"Why are you taking it out on me? Did I put some love potion in the food or something? What am I supposed to do about the two of you being so madly in love..."

Mayo muttered as if he felt wronged.

“Hey, Alvin.”

Chili, who was with them, carefully opened his mouth.

“I’m sorry to say this, but..."

“What is it?”

Alvin replied with a pout.

“Alvin, wouldn’t it be better to be introduced to a woman?”

It seemed to Chili that if Alvin got a girlfriend, 80% of this mess would be solved.

Coincidentally, Ivan and Roxy also got lovers around the same time, leaving Alvin lonely.

“...None of you introduced them to me.”

“That’s because Alvin’s eyes are so picky.”

Honestly, there were more than a few times when the words 'know your subject' were on the tip of his tongue.

“Do you know how difficult it is to find Alvin’s ideal type?”

Those who had gathered together to complain about Killian soon began to complain about Alvin's high standards.

"And Alvin's ideal types don't like him. It's time to face reality."

Alvin muttered gloomily at Cezanne's cold and firm words.

“Wouldn’t it look better if I decorated you?”

“It’ll get a little better. Have you been looking in the mirror lately?”

Alvin was furious at Ivan's words.

“Of course! Did you think I lived without even looking in the mirror?”

“That’s fortunate. I thought you had given up on life.”

Roxy breathed a sigh of relief.

“...Is that all?”

“Yes, let’s start by shaving the beard.”

So, in the end, the meeting went from the topic of how to tie up Killian to Alvin's solo escape.

***

Killian was spending time with Emily on the bed even at this hour, unaware that people were talking about him outside.

Maybe it was because of the alcohol he had in the evening, but his body felt like it was heating up faster than usual.

As the sky outside the window began to grow dark, Emily tapped Killian on the shoulder.

“I have to go to sleep now.”

Killian grabbed Emily's hand as she pushed him away and asked, placing his lips on her fingertips.

"Why."

"We're having a party at the mansion tomorrow. There's so much to do to prepare."

Emily jumped up from the bed, trying to push away Killian's body that was clinging to her, ignoring her words.

As he looked up with a look of puzzlement in his eyes, Emily spoke firmly.

“No, that won’t work. I’ll go to another room and sleep, so just understand.”

Only then did Killian apologize to his wife.

“Yes. I won’t touch you, so just lie down next to me.”

“You said that yesterday and didn’t keep your promise.”

Emily must have been sincere in her decision to move rooms today, as she found a robe and put it on, and even took her usual pillow.

Finally, Killian got up and stood up for Emily.

“I’ll go out. You sleep here.”

It would take quite some time to heat the other rooms. He could just move to his own bedroom anyway.

Emily, relieved that Killian had found his clothes and put them on, said goodbye as she crawled back into her own bed.

"Good night."

“...Good night.”

He looked at Emily with eyes dripping with longing and slowly closed the door.

Confirming that the footsteps had faded, Emily closed her eyes and tried to fall asleep. However, the thoughts that had plagued her all day returned to her mind, making it difficult to fall asleep.

'Why can't I have children?'

Despite making love with her husband every night, there was no sign of a baby. She feared that it might have something to do with her alteration of the original story.

In the end, she couldn't sleep because she was worried about kicking her husband out, and had to toss and turn all night.

***

When a healthy son is born to Maria and Endymion, the boss of the Gotio family, Emily throws a party at the Duke's house for her friend Maria.

“Thank you for throwing such a wonderful party.”

Maria quickly regained her slim figure, which was unusual for someone who had just given birth.

“Of course, for the sake of Endymion and Maria.”

Emily asked, carefully stroking the child's cheek in Maria's arms.

“Have you decided on a name for the child?”

“Yes, I’m thinking of calling it Romeo.”

“Romeo, that’s a beautiful name. It suits your baby so well.”

Emily couldn't take her eyes off Romeo, playing with his little fingers.

“Good morning, Duchess.”

Endymion approached after greeting the people.

The Gotio family had been liquidating their previous illegal businesses and was now engaged in a pharmaceutical-related business. Recently, the company has grown significantly after successfully developing a new drug.

Although he was very busy due to that, Endymion was never a father who neglected his children.

“Romeo, come here.”

As Endymion reached out to Romeo, Mary naturally handed the baby over to her husband.

Endymion, who received the baby, looked at it as if it were the most lovable thing in the world and held it in his arms.

“You hold a child better than I do.”

“Because I hug him every day. These days, I live for the joy of seeing him.”

“Yes, how pretty you are.”

Seeing Endymion so happy, Emily glanced in her husband's direction. Killian happened to be looking at his wife, and their eyes met.

Then Killian apologized to the person he was talking to and walked towards them.

“The baby is so small.”

His first impression of the baby was too short and insensitive.

“And isn’t it super cute?”

Endymion frowned slightly and said, "Is that all you have to say to such a cute baby?"

"Yes."

Endymion, feeling somewhat better as Killian continued to give short answers and nodded positively, held out the child as if showing it off and asked him.

“Don’t you want to have such a cute baby soon, Your Excellency?”

“Not really.”

The person most taken aback by Killian's quick and decisive answer was not the baby's parents, Endymion or Maria, but Emily.

"Yes?"

She asked him again, as if she could hardly believe it.

“You don’t want to have children?”

“Yes, I am happy enough without it.”
