TMTNO - Side Story 2-2 (4)

“What?”

Yuno's eyes turned round.

"You're going to rescue me?"

He asked again, as if he didn't understand what he had heard.

"Are you trying to save me from the past, the me on that smuggler's boat?"

"You understood correctly."

"The future can change!"

"You don't want things to change? You want the miserable situation to continue."

Yuno suddenly became dumbfounded.

“You don’t want it.”

Everything was created by me.

A single, lightly written sentence, saying that the male protagonist of a story about a man in ruins must have an unfortunate past, made Yuno who he is today.

Maybe coming to this era was for my good.

A chance to change Yuno's personality, which has become passive and loves being grabbed by the collar!

My future self won't feel guilty when looking at a more polished Yuno.

"Lily, what do you believe in to be so reckless?"

Yuno, having come to his senses, started to shoot back at me.

"I know you're a god, but you're really insignificant. Dispelling magic is fatal to a great wizard like me, but it's useless against ignorant people like that."

Yeah, it really hits a sore spot.

"I know. That's why I asked you to make a tool for me."

"Even so, it's dangerous. Lily, do you have any powers I don't know about? Are you immortal?"

"That's not it. If I get stabbed when I'm old, I'll die."

Maybe? I don't age, since my fingernails and hair don't grow.

“But what were you thinking?"

Yuno, who had his hand on his forehead, looked at me, sighed deeply, and then took my hand.

"Let's go back to the accommodation first."

***

On the way to the inn, Yuno bought several bundles of beads.

When I returned to my room, he breathed magic into the orb and engraved something into it. It was the same with the jewels I had.

He was doing similar work, and he turned around and threw it away.

"Stop it, please."

He must have thought I would take the marbles, so he magically levitated the work into the air.

"Hyaah! Ugh!"

I tried to jump hard and catch it, but it was too high.

"Yuno, why are you suddenly changing your words? Didn't you also agree with me punishing those who commit crimes?"

"If my past self isn't sold."

The golden eyes were trembling slightly.

"I can't meet Lily."

"..."

"Actually, it's a lie that I've never been here before."

What?

"I've been to the past many times, trying to erase those terrible memories, but I couldn't change them."

I was speechless at the completely unexpected story.

"Do you know how the previous Tower Master died? He went to the past, faced his past self, and died. The moment he faced his past self, he turned to dust."

Yuno's long eyelashes fluttered.

I was wondering why Yuno was so passive and timid, but it turns out he saw something wrong with the late Tower Master.

So, he couldn't save his past self because he thought he would become like that, too.

"If the past changes, the future changes too."

"..."

"The previous Tower Master has disappeared, Lily. I remember him clearly, but no one knows him anymore."

Has he become someone who never existed?

"I seem to remember because I saw his disappearance, but other people don't know anything about him."

Yuno grabbed me with his long, thin fingers.

"Lily, I'm sorry for what I said yesterday. Forget it all."

"..."

"Don't try to save me because I did something wrong. Just stay here. Yes?"

Yuno's face, which was holding my arm, was terribly distorted. I took off his glasses, as if he was about to cry, and rubbed his eyes.

"It's not because of what you said."

"Sure?"

"I do it because I want to."

"Why? Why on earth? Lily doesn't even like me."

Finally, Yuno began to shed tears. Transparent water droplets fell onto his jaw.

"I know. We're annoying you. That's why you try to run away whenever you get the chance. To go back to your original world."

He cried sadly, looking like a child who had lost his mother.

Did you cry like this on the day you were abandoned by your mother?

I slowly raised my hand and cupped his wet cheek. I wiped his eyes with my thumb, but he wouldn't stop crying.

"I don't want to be abandoned again. Lily, I was wrong, so please don't go. Don't abandon me."

"No, Yuno. I'm not abandoning you. You're mistaken."

"Really? Aren't you going?"

I shook my head.

“I like you."

Yuno looked like he didn't understand what he was hearing.

"Because I like you, it means that when you're tired because of the past, it bothers me too."

"Lily..."

Yuno's body shook as if struck hard by a blunt object. Soon, tears welled up in his eyes, and he tightened his grip on me.

"What if the past changes and I can't meet Lily?"

“We will meet.”

This much I could be sure of.

"It may take some time, but you will become a great wizard, and you will find me."

"..."

"Just like this time."

Yuno still remained silent.

"Don't you believe that your heart loves me?"

When I said that with a slight smile, only then did Yuno deny it.

"No, I will find Lily no matter what."

"Yes. Then you help me increase my operation's success rate."

Yuno, seemingly energized, explained the situation in detail. I carefully observed his expression, wondering if he was having trouble recalling his memories, but he seemed even more excited.

The operation will be carried out tomorrow night, when the guys leave.

I decided to definitely take a break today.

"If you're going, please do me a favor."

"Yes, what is it?"

"Have a relationship with me."

It's been quiet lately, so I completely forgot, but I never thought I'd get hit in the back of the head like this.

"Lily, please love me. If only..."

Yuno finished speaking, his face distorted, as if he was exhaling a sharp breath.

"So that I can live with memories that make me believe that you truly loved me."

What was in those golden eyes was desperation.

Looking at the glass-like eyes that seemed ready to shatter at any moment, I slowly unbuttoned the clothes I was wearing.

We lay on the wide bed and stared at each other.

"Aren't you really disgusted by me?"

"Of course not."

I muttered to myself, "I like it," and caressed Yuno's body. The part he was embarrassed about.

Even though he showed his weaknesses, he was greeted warmly and started to shed tears.

"You are the only one for me."

He rubbed his drenched face against my shoulder and kissed me. We shared a breath.

Yuno's cheeks turned red as he stroked me for a long time.

“I will do it, Lily..."

“Yes.”

He, who still had a childish look on his face, twisted his face and showed himself to me.

"I love you, Lily. My savior."

All night long, he wouldn't let go of me. I held him tightly and whispered to him over and over again that I wanted more.

***

"Lily, if anything goes wrong, throw this. Yes?"

Yuno put a necklace with five unusually red beads around my neck.

"What is this?"

"It's a signal flare. I'll be waiting nearby and come to Lily's rescue if you're in danger."

"Yes, but don't worry, I'll never die."

"Lily, are you immortal?"

Yuno's eyes flashed as if he were about to dismantle me at any moment.

"No, who would want to kill me if they saw me? They would want to get married."

As I said playfully while wearing a hood, a murderous aura emanated from Yuno.

"I will kill anyone who approaches Lily."

Even this morning, people talked to me a lot even though I was eating breakfast with my hood on.

The problem was that 99 percent of them were the opposite sex.

Even if it was the past, it was proof that I was definitely the heroine.

If you cover your face, the influence is somewhat less, but if you show your face, you have a special constitution that immediately turns the opposite sex off.

"Don't worry too much, no one's going to try to kill me anyway."

I stroked Yuno's head.

I dressed up nicely, half covering my face with my hat, and headed towards the smuggling ship.

Today is the day that Yuno is locked in a box and transported to the ship.

My plan is to rescue Yuno and place him in a decent foster home, so he can grow up with a little less pain.

Even if Yuno himself doesn't participate, isn't it already half a success since he created something incredibly useful?

Yuno decided to hide in a warehouse near the port, hiding behind a factory wall.

“I’ll be back.”

With a rather light heart, I blended in with the traffickers and smugglers.
