Queen Of Villains - Chapter 80

When they heard that Emily was going to the Sinope estate, the Starr family came out to see her off.

“Madam, please take me too.”

Cezanne followed Emily until she got into the carriage and tried to persuade her, because Emily had decided to leave Cezanne behind at the Starr mansion.

“Cezanne is from here.”

“Madam, but still...”

Cezanne was very worried about Emily being alone, as she had never been away from her since she came here.

"Madam."

Alvin, who had come over before anyone knew it, also persuaded Emily, along with Cezanne.

“His Grace is also very worried about Madam going down to the estate alone.”

“Yes, that’s right. So you should take one of our maids.”

"But..."

Emily pointed behind herself.

“Ivan and Knox are going together.”

Emily had been looking at Alvin and Cezanne with a puzzled expression, as they had been telling her not to go down alone.

“That’s no different from going down alone.”

Alvin's expression was stern.

First of all, Ivan was chosen because he was the best at driving a carriage among the members of the organization.

And of all the capable capos who could escort Emily, only Knox had the time to accompany her.

'Why Knox?'

'The other capos are busy with their assigned tasks, but Knox has nothing to do.'

'This is the worst.'

For that reason, Killian and Giovanni had no choice but to send Knox as Emily's escort.

"Ivan and Knox are also quite skilled. Don't worry."

"Yeah, Alvin. It's just annoying to worry so much."

Knox grumbled and argued with Alvin.

“Knox... and Ivan! You come here, too.”

Ivan muttered, "Here we go again," and came towards Alvin, picking his ear.

“Both of you, please don’t cause any trouble and bring Madam safely to Sinope territory.”

“Alvin, are you really treating me like that, Ivan, right now?”

Ivan frowned at Knox's words, which seemed to be absurd.

Although Knox was higher in rank than him and couldn't say much, he was shocked that he was being treated the same as Knox.

“Anyway, I’m telling you to pay special attention to Madam’s safety!”

“I said I understand.”

Alvin clutched his pounding head and pretended to swat away a fly with his other hand.

“If you understand, everyone return to your seats.”

Fortunately, Alvin's nagging didn't last long because he was in front of Madam. Ivan and Knox returned to their original positions, groaning.

“Madam, please take care of your health.”

“Thank you for everything.”

Emily said goodbye to the Starr people working in the mansion, including Alvin, Cezanne, Chili, Roxy, and Mayo, who was in the kitchen.

“When John returns and sees that Madam is not in the mansion, he might cry.”

Emily smiled wryly at Chili's words.

"I feel like I'm going to faint just from seeing John. I'll go to the academy and say hello to John."

As she said this, it really started to feel real that Emily was going to divorce Killian soon.

“Then, everyone, take care.”

If Killian really sent the divorce papers to the Sinope estate, Emily would never come to Starr Manor again.

Emily fought back tears as she climbed onto the carriage. She'd thought everything would be alright, but when this situation actually happened, tears welled up in her eyes.

The Starr family, who had grown very attached to Emily, also waved towards the carriage Emily was riding in, swallowing their regret and sadness.

A few minutes later, upon hearing that Emily had left for the estate, Killian put down the papers he was reading and went to the window.

Emily's carriage had passed through the main gate and shrunk to the point of being almost invisible.

“Lord Killian.”

From behind, Giovanni called him quietly.

“Are you confident you won’t regret it?”

Killian didn't want to waste time reliving something that was already irreversible. He opened his mouth with a numb expression.

"Now we're going to start fighting the Giuliano Organization in earnest. Before that, it's right to let my wife go."

And there was another reason why he had to break up with Emily.

Killian returned to his desk, away from the window, and picked up the envelope lying on it.

It was a letter from the Robert Empire.

Giovanni, who had been watching Killian's actions, asked cautiously.

“What will you do if the Crown Prince finds out that you are divorced and approaches Madam?”

At those words, Killian's face hardened into a murderous grimace.

“That will never happen.”

Since he had decided to send Emily away anyway, he thought it was natural for her to remarry.

But the Crown Prince was absolutely unacceptable. Regardless of his personality, he couldn't stand to see her connected to someone from the royal family.

So, the person Killian thought of was Duke Charles Sadie. They were originally supposed to be married, and he seemed like he could protect Emily from the royal family.

“I’ll deal with Lucius before he resorts to any foolish means.”

It's just that the timing has been brought forward a little because of Emily, but he's been waiting for the day to take revenge on them for a very long time.

As he read the letter, Killian's expression seemed to soften a little, as if he had heard good news.

“Chambers and Alvin, once the urgent matter is over, send them to the Sinope estate.”

"All right."

Giovanni, on the other hand, still had a worried look on his face.

With an all-out war with the Giuliano Organization just around the corner, Killian was ready to send all of his key members to escort Emily.

Still, the reason he followed Killian's orders was that he had joined hands with Gottio and the Rezetta organization.

Giovanni sincerely hoped that this would all end quickly so that Killian could live in peace.

***

Emily was writing a letter in the carriage.

This was because many people were unable to say goodbye. After all, she had suddenly chosen to go to Sinope to vent her anger on Killian.

'Where in the original are we now?'

As Emily was writing the letter, a thought suddenly occurred to her.

Because she had already twisted many parts of the original work, it was impossible to predict what would happen next.

If things had gone as planned, she would have been pregnant with Killian's child by now.

And soon she would have been targeted by the Giuliano organization and would have been on the run.

Emily trembled with fear.

'Are we now truly free from the danger of the original?'

It seemed that if she got a divorce, she would definitely be free from the threat of the Giuliano organization.

'But...'

Emily crumpled the letter she was writing.

She didn't want to divorce Killian. She told him to send her the divorce papers in a fit of anger, but she still didn't want to break up with him!

For now, she was giving Killian time. She hoped he'd realize something while she was gone.

He also lacks the confidence to live alone without her.

Instead of sending her divorce papers, if he came to her in person and apologized and admitted his wrongdoings, she should just pretend not to give in and accept it. While Emily was daydreaming about this, Knox knocked on the door from outside.

“We are now in the Sinope territory.”

Emily opened the window. The scent of her longed-for home drifted into the carriage.

“This is my first time in this area, and the town is very lively.”

Emily nodded at Knox's words.

“It’s almost the Carrot Festival. That’s probably why there are so many people on the streets.”

“Oh! There’s a festival going on?”

Knox already knew this, but he pretended not to know and asked.

“Since we’ve come this far, can we enjoy the festival together?”

He planned to use that as an excuse to stay in town and escort Emily.

"Yes?"

Emily smiled awkwardly, embarrassed.

"Even if you call it a festival, the atmosphere will be very different from a festival held in the capital. It's just a small town festival..."

"It's okay! We have simple sensibilities. Right, Ivan?"

Ivan, who was driving the carriage, answered loudly.

“Of course! I love it so much! I love festivals like that.”

“Still. Shouldn’t you go back to the capital?”

Emily's eyes were like, 'Can you really be so annoying?'

As she remembered Alvin nagging them before coming down to the estate, she was afraid that the sparks would fly to Emily herself.

“Don’t worry about that. Neither of us had anything to do, so we just happened to be on vacation.”

“...Then that’s fortunate.”

When he said that, she had no reason to refuse.

Meanwhile, the carriage entered the Sinope mansion.

The servants of the Sinope mansion, who had heard the news in advance, came out to greet Emily.

Since Emily hadn't brought up the topic of divorce yet, they simply assumed she was visiting the estate for the festival.

“Welcome, I’ve been waiting.”

Since their last visit had cleared up many misunderstandings about the Starr family, they welcomed Knox and Ivan warmly.

“But this time, the Marquis didn’t come with you?”

The nanny looked behind Emily and asked.

“Yeah, he’s very busy.”

Emily gave Knox and Ivan a wink, telling them not to say anything.

Fortunately, Knox and Ivan had no intention of making a fuss about their lord's divorce, and they were still against it.

When Killian told them he was divorcing Emily for her sake, Knox felt the urge to smack him hard on the back of the head.

If you want to protect it that much, you should protect it yourself until the end. What kind of nonsense is it to say you'll let it go?

Hr thought that was really unmanly behavior.

Knox had been left here to protect Emily until the capital was stabilized, as instructed by Killian, but he had another purpose.

Here again, they connect Killian and Emily.

What about that plan? He hasn't made any plans yet.
