IYDGMYD - Chapter 141

“Huh?”

The wizards looked puzzled.

The white-robed wizard who was speaking as a representative of the three laughed as if it were nonsense.

"You seem to be misunderstanding something. As you know, when our magicians enter the Magic Tower, they swear a magician's oath. It's a pledge to use magic for the benefit of the world. If they break this oath, the Magic Tower will severely punish them."

The black-robed wizard next to him also nodded.

"You will be subjected to a horrific punishment: your magical powers will be erased, preventing you from ever using magic again. No wizard of the Magic Tower would dare break their oath."

“Because to a wizard, magic is like life itself.”

The two men insisted strongly.

I wasn't flustered because I didn't think they would admit it easily.

'There are three possible scenarios. First, they're lying. Second, Luca lied. Third, even within the Magic Tower, those who know the truth about the Dark Magician Training Academy and those who don't are divided.'

For now, we've ruled out the assumption that Luca lied.

'Oh, the first and third cases could be happening simultaneously.'

If, as they say, magic power is like life to a wizard, then Luca sacrificed his life to uncover the truth about the dark magic training academy.

There was no reason for him to lie.

I didn't budge and spoke more forcefully.

"It doesn't matter if you don't know about this. It's a clear fact that the Magic Tower is perpetrating such acts. Please convey my intentions to the Magic Tower Lord."

“But Your Highness, the Princess.”

“I am the Marchioness of Rodrian.”

"Oh, I'm sorry, Marchioness Rodrian. I repeat, the Tower would never do such a thing..."

“I would have told you to finish it as quickly as possible.”

Callius interrupted the wizard, leaning against the window with his arms crossed.

He stared at the white-robed wizard.

"I guess you didn't understand what I meant. I meant you shouldn't try to persuade my wife with long explanations."

The wizard gulped and struggled at the low, heavy voice.

“Your, Your Excellency...”

“To my wise wife, how dare you sway her with false rumors without even looking into it? Do you want to say something like that?”

Callius looked at each wizard, emphasizing the word "dare."

The two men couldn't even make eye contact with Callius, and the white-robed wizard was the only one fidgeting, his eyes darting back and forth.

“That, that’s absolutely not the case!”

"Or maybe? My wife knew it all, but she doesn't want to admit it, so she'll lie. Is that it?"

“That’s not right!”

“Then I don’t know on what basis you are denying the truth my wife told me.”

The wizard was speechless and kept his mouth shut when Callius, who was insisting that what I was saying was the truth, cut him off.

He was a wizard of the arrogant wizards of the Magic Tower. Judging by the fact that he was the representative, he must have possessed considerable authority and skill within the Magic Tower.

He couldn't hide his embarrassment, as if it were the first time anyone had treated him like this.

Still, he maintained a polite attitude, as if he hadn't forgotten that they were in a difficult position.

It was unusual for a towering figure with such incredible abilities to find himself in a position of regret.

The Mana Stone of Rosendal. That meant it was so important to them.

The wizard nodded with a forced smile.

"Understood. I will clearly convey the Marchioness's wishes to the Lord of Tower and determine the situation."

I kindly gave him a hint, thinking he might really be unaware of the matter.

"I suggest you investigate those associated with the Warlock Training Academy. I, too, am very curious to see if the Magic Tower is keeping its oath."

As I spoke with a smile, the wizards' stiff expressions relaxed a little.

The white-robed wizard spoke quickly, as if his breathing had cleared.

"We will ensure that it is done. While it's unlikely that wizards would break their oaths, if such an unfortunate incident were to occur, we would be more enraged than anyone else. We will not tolerate those who dare to tarnish the honor and value of the Magic Tower."

Callius frowned as he watched someone who couldn't even look me in the eye or speak to me at length insist that they weren't wrong.

Even if the white-robed wizard truly believed with a pure heart that the Magic Tower was sacred and made such a claim, Callius and I knew that the Magic Tower's magicians had joined hands with Kavala and hidden in Ronheim, so we didn't look at him kindly.

'He may be a fool who believes only what he wants to believe, or a fool who doesn't realize the division of the Magic Tower. Or perhaps he's a clever person.'

When Callius sighed with discomfort, the wizard quickly turned away and changed the subject.

"I'm sorry, this has become long-winded. Could we please see that magical artifact?"

He nodded to the maid next to him as a sign of permission, and the maid placed several boxes containing magical artifacts in front of the wizards.

The wizards carefully opened the box and looked at the items inside.

Some magic stones were crafted into jewels for use in accessories like earrings or rings, while others were made into parts for everyday items like lighting fixtures.

“Are you saying that even something this small can contain enough magical power?”

The wizard looked at the ornament carefully and was amazed.

After examining the appearance of the magical artifact for a while, they finally began to analyze the quantity and quality of mana contained within it, as well as the type of magic.

But soon their expressions hardened.

They exchanged glances with a puzzled expression and then asked me.

“Do you happen to know the person who put the magic here?”

I smiled brightly.

The reason I readily showed them this magical artifact was to answer that question.

“His name is Luca Osijek. Oh, you already know him, don’t you?”

“...!”

The wizards opened their eyes wide.

The reaction was that they had no idea that name would really come up.

The wizards wiggled their hips in excitement, whether out of anger or embarrassment.

“Luca Osijek was banished from the Magic Tower after being punished by having his magic powers erased for breaking his wizard’s oath!”

"Did he create this magical artifact? When? Before he was banished from the Magic Tower? I haven't received any reports of anyone discovering such a mana stone...!"

“No. These were made only a few days ago.”

“That can’t be...”

The white-robed wizard took a sip of tea with trembling hands and spoke calmly.

“Madam Rodrian, I don’t know how Luca Osijek was able to use magic again, but I advise you to stay away from him.”

“Why?”

"He was the one who tried to cause division in the Magic Tower out of personal feelings. Ultimately, unable to overcome his greed, he used magic to attack the Magic Tower's wizards."

The black magician intervened.

“As you know, any wizard affiliated with the Magic Tower who uses offensive magic without permission to harm others is subject to severe punishment.”

“He is a shameless man with the appearance of a brutal murderer.”

“If such a huge mana stone falls into his hands, I wonder what he will do in the future...”

I nodded, listening to those words seriously.

“So my friend was kicked out on that false charge?”

“Are you a friend?”

When I called Luca, my friend, the wizards' faces became wary of me.

"Luca was instrumental in protecting Ronheim from the magicians of the Magic Tower, who invaded Ronheim and sought to slaughter its people and innocent children. He is our friend."

“Are you saying that the wizards of the Magic Tower attacked the children of Ronheim?”

The white-robed wizard gaped as if he had no idea what I was talking about.

I again had the maid show the wizards several objects.

These were the belongings of those who had hidden in Ronheim.

The wizards who immediately recognized it were astonished.

“Do you recognize these items?”

“These are the photos of my colleagues who recently took a vacation...”

“I thought it was strange that I hadn’t seen them for so long.”

When presented with evidence, no one said they could no longer believe it or that it couldn't be true.

The white-robed wizard spoke with a stern face.

"I will report this to the Magic Tower and investigate further before returning to you. I apologize, but please give me just a moment. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you."

"Ah, regarding that, I've already sent someone to the Magic Tower to inform them of all this. Please, don't harm our people and return him safely to me."

“Why is the tower of the Marchioness Rodrian’s person...”

“You will know when you go back.”

I smiled and emphasized to the bewildered wizards, wondering what he meant by "return the person I sent safely."

“He is someone I care about very much, so I would be very upset if something happened to him.”
