Episode 51. I'll Wash Up and Go
Kassius frowned slightly and pulled away.
She looked surprised at his movement away from her.
Kassius had tried to stay close to her before, but never before had he pulled away like this.
Renisha, who had been leaning against the sofa, straightened up.
On the other side, Kassius, who had moved to a seat farther away from her, called out to her.
"Kassius?"
"...I smell sweat."
"Ah."
Renisha laughed.
"Why are you laughing like that?"
Kassius asked curtly.
"Sweat? I never even thought of that."
"Then...?"
After all that sweat pouring down his face, there was no way he wouldn't smell something.
Kassius unfolded his shirt sleeve and sniffed.
Renisha's smile deepened at the sight.
"Kassius, I have something to do in the capital. Do you want to come with me?"
“...Is it okay if we both leave at the same time?”
“It’s after two weeks anyway. We should be able to settle in by then. Even if we leave for a while, there shouldn’t be any major problems. Solein is here, and Lindy and Sir Terion are there, too. Right now, I need to focus on repairing the castle and running the forge, so I think I can trust them with that.”
“Then I’d like to go with you,”
Kassius said with a serious expression.
He didn’t even ask why Renisha was going to the capital.
Kassius had blindly trusted and followed Renisha.
His heart pounded.
“...Would Kassius even swallow poison if I told you?”
“Are you planning to poison me?”
Kassius asked with a puzzled expression.
“No, that’s just the metaphor. Why don’t you question what I’m doing? Don’t you have any questions?”
“I believe Renisha does it for a reason. Isn’t there something you absolutely have to do in the Capital?”
“What if you don’t have to go?”
"If it puts Renisha's mind at ease, then I think it would be best to do so."
Renisha let out a breathy laugh.
His pure and unadulterated faith felt like it could purify even Renisha.
Living as Empress, Renisha had to learn to doubt and calculate before she could trust.
But with Kassius, she didn't have to.
Kassius wasn't one to hide anything from her.
That's probably why Renisha kept laughing like she had lost her lungs.
She felt at ease.
Even the venom that filled her often seemed ineffective in front of Kassius.
Renisha smiled, her expression broken.
Renisha stood up.
She extended a hand to Kassius, who was sitting on the edge of the room, as if he were worried about the smell of sweat.
“Our little lady.”
Kassius frowned slightly and pulled away.
She looked surprised at his movement away from her.
Kassius had tried to stay close to her before, but never before had he pulled away like this.

She extended a hand to Kassius, who was sitting on the edge of the room, as if he were worried about the smell of sweat.
“Our little lady.”
Kassius frowned. Fortunately, no one was listening at the moment.
Kassius sighed deeply.
"Renisha, please."
"Stand up."
Kassius tilted his head, grabbed Renisha's hand, and stood up.
Kassius, who had been obediently following her orders, was pulled toward the bathroom by Renisha.
"What...?"
"If you're worried about the smell of sweat, you can just wash up."
"That's true."
Kassius blushed.
This was Renisha's bedroom.
That meant the bathroom she was leading him to was also hers.
"I'll go wash up, I'll wash up."
"Do you really need to?"
Renisha pushed Kassius into the bathroom, and she stepped in as well.
Click.
The door closed,
leaving Renisha inside. Kassius blinked slowly.
"Renisha?"
Renisha unbuttoned all the buttons on Kassius's shirt.
Her movements were as natural as flowing water.
Renisha brushed her lips against the nape of his neck and pulled away.
Renisha untied the ribbon on his shirt and whispered softly,
"Kassius, you can take the rest off yourself, right?"
Kassius's face turned the same color as his hair.
It was so red it looked like it was going to burst.
Kassius lay face down, gasping for breath.
From the bathroom to the bed.
He followed Renisha's lead.
Kassius buried his face in the pillow.
No matter how much he thought about it, it was clear Renisha had Siren blood.
How else could she be so captivating?
He watched Renisha in the bathroom, pulling down her own clothes with her own hands, and his heart nearly burst.
Kassius lifted his head from the pillow.
Wait.
Where on earth did Renisha learn this?
Kassius hesitated.
“Renisha.”
This isn’t something to take to heart.
“Have you ever done this before?”
“Hmm?”
Renisha, her eyes closed in languor, turned to look at Kassius.
Kassius’s face was half-hidden behind his strong shoulder.
His cat-like, upturned golden eyes held a grudge.
Renisha stroked Kassius’s cheek.
“What are you talking about?”
“Have you ever done this to anyone else before?”
He didn’t even want to say Laxus’s name.
Renisha blinked at Kassius’ question.
For a moment, he was dazed, but then understanding dawned on him.
“Are you jealous?”
Kassius turned his head at Renisha’s question, turning in a direction where Renisha couldn’t see him.
“Right?”
Renisha whispered, her voice brimming with laughter, leaning toward Kassius.
Her cool skin touched his hot, firm back.
Kassius flinched and shifted.
“You’re jealous, aren’t you?”
Renisha traced her fingertips along Kassius’s waistline.
“Are you upset that I did this to Laxus?”
“Emperor.”
“Yes?”
“Call him Emperor, not Laxus.”
Renisha’s eyes widened.
“Hahaha. My husband is cute when he’s jealous.”
Renisha pressed her lips against Kassius’s shoulder.
Kassius gritted his teeth and closed his eyes.
Renisha was acting this way knowingly.
Knowing that Kassius would find it difficult to endure Renisha’s stimulation...
Kassius rolled over.
He placed Renisha beneath him and squeezed her cheek.
A shadow fell over her.
“Answer me, Renisha. Has anything like this ever happened?”
“Kassius, I swear on you. I’ve never done anything like this with an Emperor. And for me, you’re the only one.”
The strength in Kassius’s shoulders fell.
Hearing the answer he hoped for, his pent-up feelings began to ease.
Renisha kissed Kassius’s cheek, where his emotions were clearly visible.
“My sweet puppy, my husband.”
Renisha hugged Kassius like a vine.
She thought Kassius was breaking Renisha’s composure.
And she was right.
Kassius was the one who kept giving Renisha hope, even when she had thrown everything away.
She could live like a human being, be happy, and be loved.
Kassius kept instilling in her the things she had discarded.
So she tried to let go.
“It was futile.”
It was right not to be so complacent as to think you could let go of what you already had.
Renisha entangled herself with Kassius's hot flesh.
The chilled air between them warmed up again.
"You're the only one for me."
Kassius was helplessly subdued by Renisha's sweet whisper.
Laxus chuckled and stared at the Foreign Minister standing before him.
"I know the Prince of Shamdir is preparing to leave. But so what?"
"Shamdir is a powerful ally of Hientri. It's right to protect the Prince before anything happens to him."
"Aha. So that's why the Foreign Minister personally moved his heavy butt and came here."
Laxus clapped his hands.
"You're right. If something happens to Prince Meteo, we'll be in trouble. So what do you propose?"
"I think it would be right to have Count Calliot escort Prince Meteo."
"Count Calliot? I thought we weren't on good terms."
"Besides that, he has to work for Hientri."
Narrowing his eyes, Lexus examined the Foreign Minister.
Count Calliot might harbor animosity toward Laxus, but the man before him harbored a grudge against Renisha.
When Renisha became Empress and Laxus became Emperor, the Prince he had supported fell.
Because of this, he had to lose his only daughter, the Crown Princess.
It wasn't like Count Calliot had any relationship with Renisha.
Count Calliot was a solitary, wolf-like man, living alone in the world.
It was difficult to believe that Count Calliot or the Minister of Foreign Affairs had any ulterior motives.
'Perhaps it would be better to be public,'
Laxus thought, running his tongue over his lips, as he had already secured those who would follow Meteo.
Their words were flawless.
Whatever Meteo was doing here, he was a guest of the Empire.
It was also his duty as the Emperor to protect him and send him back safely.
"I think you're right. Send a letter to Count Calliot. Prince Meteo wants to stop by Hiloshine before he returns, so have him escort him there. And make sure he leaves safely and issue orders for him to return."
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
Laxus smiled.
“It’s comforting to have you. I have a wedding this weekend, don’t I? It’s only two days away.”
“Congratulations, Your Majesty.”
“It’s a shame I can’t invite you.”
Although she spoke as if she were normal, everyone knew the madness in Laxus’s eyes.
The Foreign Minister lowered his head even further to avoid eye contact with Laxus.
His gaze seemed to pierce his heart.
“Just look upon Canary with affection. Isn’t she a pitiful person?”
Laxus said affectionately.
However, the Foreign Minister could not have missed the barb in her words.
To ask the Empress-to-be to look upon the Emperor only with affection? He really intended to turn her into a bird that sings. Of course, a bird trapped in a cage would be pitiful.
Laxus patted the Foreign Minister on the shoulder.
“Ah. While you’re at it, would you please tell Count Calliot to ask after Renisha? I should take care of Renisha. Now, I’m the only one left for Renisha.”
Laxus smiled coldly. The Minister of Foreign Affairs swallowed, his face like a blade.
“What could a slave knight do for Renisha? Tell Count Calliot that if Renisha is having a hard time and suffering, I will allow her to stay in the capital.”
The tone was filled with mockery.
But why did Laxus look so anxious?
“...Yes, Your Majesty.”
“I miss Renisha.”
It was a question of what exactly he meant.
Kassius, who had been obediently following her orders, was pulled toward the bathroom by Renisha.
