CYSWTF - Chapter 112

Episode 112. Drunken Night

Locard flinched, pulled his hand away, and smiled like armor. He couldn’t look weak in front of her.

Lorisha squinted her eyes to focus her eyes, then looked like a child who had her candy taken away, as if she was about to cry.

“Prince!”

Her voice was extremely soft.

“Tell me.”

“I think I messed up with a lady earlier. What should I do? Lorisha is the number one accident!”

“Who?”

“She... has slanted eyes, blonde hair, and a dress the color of blood... and her speech is unlucky...”

Locard knew right away who she was. She was the wife of the training captain, Baron Hyman.

He asked softly with a faint smile. It was because of the relief that she was still the Lorisha he knew.

“What kind of mistake?”

“The Countess badmouthed me to the ladies of the Prince’s household, and it’s only natural that anyone would dislike me after hearing such things, so I glared at her for saying something unpleasant...”

“Glare at her?”

“I drank it in one gulp while glaring at her.”

She exaggerated the movements and expressions she had made earlier.

Locard asked lowly and softly. Her voice matched the silence and regret that filled the room.

“What did she say, Lorisha?”

He had wanted to try this for a while. He wanted to speak to her innocently, like a childhood friend.

Purely. Honestly.

But she was drunk and didn’t notice what had changed in him. Fortunately.

“Um, did she call me a drunkard after teasing me? Hehe. I don’t know.”

Locard shrugged his shoulders and tucked her hair behind her ear as she laughed.

He whispered.

“You should have sworn at her.”

“No matter how much I’m Lorisha, I didn’t want to cause trouble for the Kydel family... I should have held back...”

Lorisha muttered and lowered her head. She was already asleep.

Locard slowly got up. The laughter from earlier was nowhere to be found.

He muttered, looking down at her with a cold gaze that had no sympathy.

“You shouldn’t have held back then. If you were my wife.”

He was also drunk today.

He closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath, perhaps overwhelmed by the sadness that was welling up in his chest, similar to the boiling anger.

When he opened his eyes again, Lorisba was still in his sight.

Locard bit his teeth, realizing that his lust was such a sharp and painful sensation.

He held his breath, lifted Lorisha up onto the bed, and covered her with the bedsheet.

Then, her petticoat, which was open like a bell, made the quilt look like a tent.

“I can’t stop you.”

Locard, who was trying to sleep on the sofa, didn’t think he could sleep looking at that scene.

So he went back and took the covers off her and carefully removed her dress. Then he took off her petticoat.

It was a very slow and careful process to remove her without touching her fingernails.

When he was finally done, she squirmed and mumbled, feeling much more comfortable.

His eyes caught the last remaining corset on her body.

'She's wearing armor today, too.'

He felt astonished.

Marriage is not war.

He went to untie the corset that was squeezing her thin waist even tighter, but the knots were endless. He gritted his teeth softly and brought out his dagger. He cut the corset laces all at once. If anyone had seen it, it would have been like murdering his wife on their wedding night.

He pulled the corset gently down her back, threw it away, and looked down at her. Her single layer of underwear had caught his eye.

His eyes had taken on a different color at some point.

The realization dawned on him that Lorisha was now legally his. Mind, body, all of it.

It had to be that way.

He slowly touched her face. Then he noticed the dried tear stains at the corners of her eyes.

“Fuck.”

He stormed out of the room.

***

The day after the wedding.

I looked terrible. Hangover, a headache, and my eyes were swollen from crying while drunk.

Most of all, I had no memory.

This was my first day on the wedding day!

“Ah, Lorisha. You crazy bitch!”

I sobbed as I got out of bed and stepped on something strange.

“...?”

A corset cut cleanly with a knife.

When the maids of the Kydel family dressed me up yesterday and threatened me that I had to wear it today, I felt the urge to cut it off just like that.

Did I actually do it because I was drunk yesterday? Me?

“Let’s quit drinking.”

I shook my head and changed my clothes. Then Madame Olga brought in tea.

“It’s good for hangovers.”

“Um.... Garorin?”

“Do you know about tea?”

“It’s more like knowing about herbs.”

“Oh, I see.”

Madame Olga smiled slightly, and I asked while keeping an eye on her.

“By any chance, I... yesterday...”

Then Madame Olga smiled and answered.

“There was no mistake, my lady.”

“Haa, thank goodness!”

I immediately relaxed my body and sighed. Only then did I laugh out loud.

“What about Prince Locard? I think he drank a lot yesterday, too. Is he okay?”

“The young master went out to the training ground at dawn.”

“Huh?”

I knew that he was an unnecessarily sincere person. But even after drinking so much, he still had no humanity.

My habit of trying to find his faults was still the same.

Madame Olga spoke as she tidied up my clothes scattered on the floor.

She noticed my corset, and her voice wavered for a moment, but that was enough to make her look perfectly composed.

“He had a sparring session with Baron Hyman, the training leader, at dawn, and I heard that his shoulder was dislocated.”

“Uh...”

A feeling of dizziness grew in my daze.

What should I know about the atmosphere in this house? Usually, people pull each other’s shoulders during dawn exercise.

But Madame Olga continued speaking as if nothing had happened.

“You met his wife yesterday, right? She has narrow eyes and reddish blond hair.”

“Huh...”

My mind, which had been as hazy as the streets of the capital in the foggy dawn, suddenly became clear at the word reddish blond hair.

How could there be no mistakes?

But Madame Olga, as if she knew nothing, put my clothes in the closet and only rolled up the broken corset and held it in her hand.

“Would you like to wash first or eat? Prince Kydel entered the palace a little while ago at the call of His Highness the Second Prince.”

Did he pull his training captain’s shoulder because of me? Saying, “You can’t properly educate your wife!”?

My mind was in a mess for a moment, and I couldn’t think of anything else. So I answered,

“Well, I should wash first and then greet the Duke.”

“The Duke also went on a patrol early in the morning and will be back around lunchtime. You can go greet him then.”

Different. Different from me, Count, too different.

In Count’s house, only the Count woke up early in the morning to read books, and the daily routine started slowly according to the Countess’s time. She said that it was natural to sleep late for skin care.

When I despaired, Madame Olga consoled me.

“The discipline of the Kydel family is stricter than any other family. No one expects the young lady to adapt to it right away. So you can take it easy.”

“Lady Olga.”

“Yes, young lady.”

“Don’t be nice to me. I’ll get spoiled.”

I slurped my tea with a sullen face and drank it all in one go. It wasn’t like I’d sober up any faster.

I didn’t know what kind of expression to make on Lady Olga’s face, so I corrected myself and said,

“It means thank you.”

She finally smiled.

“What do I have to do in this house? Please tell me everything. I want to know before I meet the Duke.”

“I’ll bring the information soon, young lady. Before that, I have something to tell you.”

My heart sank.

“Yes?”

“It seems like you slept in separate rooms last night... Since the younger ones are watching, I think it would be better for you to share a bedroom from now on. I’m sorry to say this.”

“We slept in separate rooms last night!”

It wasn’t a scary thing, but it made my spine tingle. He must have gone to his room and slept.

But I answered as calmly as I could.

“I don’t remember because I was drunk. Maybe the young master was drunk and did his usual thing. I’ll keep that in mind .”

Madame Olga nodded and quietly left.

I slowly put down my teacup and slowly lay down.

While I was staring at the unfamiliar ceiling, an incomprehensible feeling washed over me. I was slowly able to figure out the cause of that strange and unpleasant feeling.

'He hated me too...'

***

Locard appeared in front of Grayon, his face showing fatigue and blatant dissatisfaction.

"I got married yesterday, Your Highness."

"So?"

At Grayon's dissatisfied gaze, Locard looked at him disapprovingly and sat down.

This time, it was hard for him to hide his boiling irritation. However, looking at Grayon's attitude now, the feeling was subtle.

This was definitely jealousy.

His master was jealous of him. Over Lorisha.

Locard felt annoyed. However, if Grayon was complaining because it was hard for him to share him with Lorisha, then he would have to wait a little longer.

However, one thought seemed to prick his chest.

The suspicion that Tagar was in front of him might make Lorisha leave him.

Locard closed his eyes for a moment and then opened them. Then he smiled brightly, running his hand through his bangs.
