IWAEBS - Chapter 151 < It’s been a while >

“Let me go too!”

I hurriedly put on my gown and followed him.

He looked down at me with a displeased look as he opened the door.

“Where are you following me in that outfit?”

“That’s why I prepared this outfit as well.”

I quickly put on the robe I had in my hand and wrapped my body carefully.

Linel still looked displeased.

However, he knew that I wasn’t the type of person who would just sit there quietly if he didn’t let me out.

“Instead, don’t leave my side.”

“Yes, I’ll protect you.”

When I said that while patting his back, he glared.

When I came out of the door, Raphael and Stiane were already in the hallway, and Bonis and Sharon also opened the door with surprised faces.

“Did you all hear the screams?”

“Yes, Your Majesty. We were drinking another glass of wine in our room and came out in surprise.”

Raphael said with a slightly reddened look.

“Commander Macrom went to where the screaming sound was coming from.”

Stiane also looked bewildered.

According to Stiane, the screaming sounded from one of the stairs on the right, not far from our room.

“Let’s go.”

We walked to the place where Commander Macrom had run.

As we walked, Prince Norton came out of his room, and Rosie’s door, located a little further behind the Prince’s room, also opened cautiously.

Rosie approached me and asked in a frightened voice,

“I thought there was a fight.”

“I don’t think there was a fight, Rosie.”

At that moment, Commander Macrom’s urgent voice was heard.

“Raphael! Stiane!”

Everyone almost ran up the stairs where the voice had come from.

“We need first aid. Bring the wizard Big right now!”

Commander Macrom was holding a woman in his arms, and he was holding his shirt to the nape of her neck.

The white shirt was quickly turning red with blood.

If that much blood was flowing out, it must have been a pretty serious injury.

“Who got hurt?”

Linel asked.

“I know the energy, but I don’t know exactly who it is.”

It was an obvious answer for Commander Macrom, who couldn’t see.

Rosie, who was next to me, suddenly covered her mouth with both hands and shouted.

“Oh my god!”

At Rosie’s surprised reaction, I went down a few more steps and examined the face of the woman in Commander Macrom’s arms.

She was a face I recognized.

“Misha?!”

She was Rosie’s attendant.

“It’s a deep cut on the back of the neck.”

Linel said after examining Misha’s wound in Commander Macrom’s arms.

“It looks like someone attacked her from behind.”

I also approached her and examined her wound with her, then looked up at Rosie and said.

She jumped down to Misha in a state of deep thought.

“Oh my god, what kind of crazy guy is that...! Why can’t you come to your senses? Misha, open your eyes!”

As Rosie was shedding tears and fainting, she touched Misha’s face, then placed her hand on her neck, felt her pulse, and let out a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, Misha was still breathing.

On the landing where Misha had collapsed, there were silver plates and sausages scattered here and there.

“Isn’t it when Misha was coming up from the restaurant?”

I asked calmly, rubbing Rosie’s back as she cried.

“Yes, Your Majesty. Actually...”

Rosie stopped answering me and looked around at the faces of the people standing around her. She wiped her tears with the back of her hand, as if her vision was blurry due to her tears, and looked again.

“It’s okay. They’re all my close associates.”

Rosie, relieved by my words, continued talking.

“Moiya said he wanted to eat sausages. I think Misha had this accident on his way up from the restaurant with sausages...”

“Who tried to kill Rosie’s maid?”

Linel shook his head at Raphael’s words.

“If the intention was murder, this wouldn’t have been the case. They would have aimed for the vital point, rather than cutting off the back of the neck.”

“That’s right. Something is off.”

Prince Norton also agreed with Linel and looked down at the crying Rosie with pity.

“We’ll have to wait until this servant wakes up to find out what’s going on. Is Big here yet?”

Linel looked up at Raphael, looking away from Misha, as the Lord of Magic Tower appeared behind Raphael.

“Take her to my room. I’ll treat her myself.”

“Matapju, you?”

“Big fell asleep an hour ago because he was drunk. So let’s move her to my room.”

“Yes. Macrom, to the Lord Magic Tower's room.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Commander Macrom lifted Misha up in his arms, and Bonis quickly pressed the shirt that was on Misha’s neck instead, keeping pace with the Commander.

***

Fortunately, the Lord Magic Tower's room was located close to the stairs.

“Put her on my bed. I’ll get the first aid supplies from Big’s room.”

The Lord Magic Tower instructed Commander Macrom as he headed toward the wizard Big’s room.

“Yes, I will.”

Commander Macrom immediately went into the Lord Magic Tower's room and laid Misha face down on the bed.

After a while, the Lord of Magic Tower entered the room with the first aid kit.

“You can let go now.”

The Lord Magic Tower said to Bonis, who was sitting on the edge of the bed and continuing to press the shirt on Misha’s neck to stop the bleeding.

“Yes.”

Bonis took her hands off the shirt and stepped back.

Then, blood poured out from between the split flesh.

The Lord Magic Tower quickly finished disinfecting, placed both hands on the wound, and closed his eyes.

As if he were reciting a magic spell in his head, his mouth moved busily and silently.

Surprisingly, the blood that had been flowing out ceaselessly gradually decreased, and after a few minutes, it stopped completely.

Everyone gathered in the room was amazed by this sight, and they came closer and closer to the bed to look closely at Misha’s wound.

When the bleeding stopped, they could see how bad the wound was.

The back of Misha’s neck was cut so deeply that the bone was visible.

“Can’t you make her come to her senses?”

“I’ll try.”

At Linel’s words, the Lord Magic Tower finished treating Misha’s wound and laid her down straight.

The Lord Magic Tower placed his hands on Misha’s forehead and concentrated again like he had when he had stopped the bleeding, and recited something in his head like before.

After a while, Misha’s eyelids fluttered and she slowly opened her eyes.

“Misha! Are you awake? I’m sorry, I made you run errands for sausages and made you go through this...”

Rosie grabbed Misha’s hand and sobbed.

“Your Highness... Where is this place?”

Misha asked Rosie with slightly relaxed eyes, looking up at the ceiling. Then she rolled her eyes and found Linel and me, startled, and tried to get up.

“It’s okay, just lie down.”

I said, gently pressing Misha’s shoulder as she tried to get up.

“Yes, you’ve lost a lot of blood, so you’re dizzy. Fortunately, the Lord Magic Tower treated you, so the bleeding has stopped.”

Linel pointed to the Lord Magic Tower and said to her.

“...Thank you, the Lord Magic Tower.”

“I’m glad you were found quickly.”

Misha’s worried expression changed into a relieved smile when she saw the Lord Magic Tower, and the Lord Magic Tower smiled similarly.

It seemed like a slightly different smile from the one she gave to the person who treated her. The Lord Magic Tower was the same.

“Do you remember anything that happened on the stairs?”

When Linel cautiously asked Misha a question, she closed her eyes and tried to remember something.

“Yes... Your Majesty.”

After a while, Misha opened her eyes again with her brow furrowed and said.

“I was going back up the stairs after getting sausages from the kitchen. I thought someone was behind me, so I turned around to look, but suddenly someone covered my mouth from behind and grabbed the back of my neck...”

Misha trailed off, perhaps recalling the fear from that moment.

“You didn’t see hia face?”

“Yes, Your Majesty. I didn’t have time to look.”

“He suddenly appeared, covered your mouth, and grabbed the back of your neck? Hmm... Is there anything else that’s unusual?”

Linel muttered to himself as if he thought that wasn’t all, and then asked Misha again.

“That thing... after cutting my neck...”

Misha hesitated to say something after carefully starting the conversation.

“Anything you remember is fine, so feel free to tell me.”

I said, sitting on the bed and holding Misha’s hand.

“He cut off my neck and sucked my blood... my blood.”

“What?!”

The expressions of everyone present were strangely distorted by the unexpected story.

“Are there any vampires among the people participating in the Continental Hunting Competition?”

Linel looked at Prince Norton and the Lord Magic Tower with bewildered eyes.

“That’s right. What on earth is going on...”

Prince Norton also looked like he couldn’t understand.

The Lord Magic Tower narrowed his eyes and seemed lost in his own thoughts.

“But vampires don’t pierce people’s necks with their teeth to suck their blood, they don’t cut them with knives, right?”

Everyone nodded at my words.

“Now that I hear you, that’s true. If you’re a vampire, there’s no reason to use a knife. Isn’t he just a bloodthirsty human?”

Rosie rubbed her arms hard with her hands, feeling goosebumps at her own words.

“If he subdued you with force, it would have been a man, right?”

“Yes, Your Majesty. Judging by the size of the hand that covered my mouth and the strength I felt, it must have been a man.”

“Did you feel like he was big?”

“It seemed that way, but he didn’t seem to have much strength. When I struggled, he moved with me. But the strange thing was that as time passed, the strength he held onto me seemed to have gotten stronger.”

Everyone looked at each other with bewildered expressions at Misha’s explanation.

“At first, you resisted so strongly that he was surprised and staggered, didn’t you?”

Rosie asked. Misha nodded as if that could have happened, then placed her hand on her forehead. She seemed to be dizzy from losing a lot of blood.

“I think we should let her rest.”

The Lord Magic Tower put his palm on Misha’s head as if checking her condition.

“Let’s do that. Rather than moving her right away, I think it would be better for her to rest here a bit more. The Lord Magic Tower, what do you think?”

“I think so too. I’ll watch her condition and send her back when she gets better.”

The Lord Magic Tower readily accepted his opinion.

“Yes, you’ll take care of it. Do you need someone to guard her?”

“No. I think I can take care of her by myself. If that guy wants more blood and comes into this room, I’ll give him the back of my neck.”

“I wonder if that criminal will try to consume the blood you've been living with for 270 years.”

Everyone’s serious expressions eased as Linel continued his joke following the Lord Magic Tower.

Even Misha smiled faintly.

The tense atmosphere seemed to have returned to normal.

“For now, I’ll do as you say. And if you think of anything else, go and tell my secretary without delay.”

After Linel patted the Lord Magic Tower's shoulder and spoke, he turned his gaze to Misha.

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

With Misha’s words, everyone left the room. I looked back at the Lord Magic Tower and gave him one last request.

“Then, take care of it.”

“Don’t worry, and go to sleep right away. Your Majesty.”

I nodded at the Lord Magic Tower's words, turned around, and raised the corners of my lips.

It sounded like an order to go back to my room, stop doing other things, and go straight to sleep. As I exchanged greetings with the Lord Magic Tower, my eyes fell on the Incarnation Sword that I hadn’t noticed before.

The Incarnation Sword was in a cloth that was used to carry swords, and strangely enough, it was upside down.

As I was about to turn around, the Incarnation Sword, which had been leaning against the wall next to the bed, fell to the floor.

As it fell, the cloth came off, and I could see the handle of the Incarnation Sword.

There was a red jewel embedded in the handle.

“Have a good night, Your Majesty.”

The Lord Magic Tower moved his body to greet me, obscuring the Incarnation Sword.

I nodded lightly and left the room.

'It seemed like the sword was vibrating slightly... Did I see it wrong?'

***

"I see the Lord of the Tower."

After everyone returned to their rooms, Misha got up from the bed and bowed.

Since Misha came to the Lapion Empire from Aklatto Island, she had mainly communicated with Bellos through letters, but this was the first time in a long time that she had seen him.

Even after Bellos participated in the Continental Hunting Competition, the two had only exchanged glances and had not had a chance to have a direct conversation.

"Don't move. It's not good for you to move your body yet."

Bellos lifted Misha up and made her lie down on the bed again.

"I'm sorry. It's been a long time since I've seen you, and I have to show you this."

"No."

Bellos looked down at the Incarnation Sword that had fallen to the floor and replied.

'It's reacting to you.'

The red jewel attached to the sword's handle was shaking in a whirlwind shape as it received the energy of fire.

He picked up the Incarnation Sword, tied the flowing cloth back together, and propped it up against the wall.

“I, Lord Magic Tower.”

Misha called out to Bellos in a different voice than before.

“The person who sucked my blood...”

“So, is there something else you’re thinking of?”

Bellos raised his eyebrows and sat down on the bed.

Misha pulled back the blanket and showed the Lord Magic Tower's hands that had been clenched into fists.

“This is...?”

“It’s his hair.”
