IWAEBS - Chapter 150 < Scream in the Midnight >

“Orange Head wants Blue Diamond! Oh, I played the game hard and got it...”

At Moiya’s words, Linel and Prince Norton looked at me with expressions like ‘Who is Orange Head?’

“You should share it. You borrowed Rosie’s body.”

The two people who heard me talking to Moiya giggled when they realized who Orange Head was, and Moiya immediately refuted.

“I borrowed Rosie’s body to get it, so I was going to lend her Blue Diamond when she needed it!”

What kind of logic is that?

But when you listen to it, it’s strangely convincing.

Linel and I laughed at Moiya’s words, who thought it was just fine.

However, there was someone who couldn’t join in on the laughter.

“Moiya, you were the one who played in the handkerchief game...?”

Prince Norton asked, staring at the white butterfly sitting on Linel’s shoulder as if he had never thought about it.

“Huh! Am I really fast? Rosie can’t run that fast because her ankles are made of wooden beams, Moiya~.”

Moiya brightly revealed Rosie’s ankles, which she didn’t have to reveal.

“Anyway, Rosie said she’d look three times prettier if she wore a blue diamond necklace and earrings. Huh, that illusion is totally diamonds.”

Linel and I exchanged glances, holding back laughter, when Prince Norton, who had been surprised the whole time, made a sound like a doctor giving a diagnosis.

“Three times... I don’t think it’s an illusion. And her ankles don’t look that thick when you look at her shoulders and body shape...”

I could definitely feel his affection for Rosie in Prince Norton’s unobjective opinion.

“So Norton says you’ll do it too?”

“...What?”

“Oh really, you’re a human, but you really don’t understand human language. Mating!”

Moiya shouted softly, as if he was frustrated.

“!”

The human Prince Norton’s face turned red in response to the animalistic, or rather wyvern-like, expression of language.

“Tell me quickly! Tell me quickly that you’ll mate even without the Blue Diamond!”

Moiya urged.

Prince Norton looked at me and Linel for help with a puzzled expression, wondering what the hell was going on.

I was equally flustered, so I just blinked.

“Tell me quickly. We have to go down to the restaurant and eat dinner quickly!”

Linel said to Prince Norton, imitating Moiya’s tone of voice.

“Moiya, tell Her Highness Rosie that she’s beautiful even without the Blue Diamond.”

Prince Norton cleared his throat and spoke to Moiya as if he were asking him, but Moiya immediately cut him off.

“You’re lying!”

As Moiya concluded, Rosie’s door opened in the distance.

Rosie smiled brightly as soon as she saw us and walked over to us.

Then, she frowned when she saw the white butterfly sitting on Linel’s shoulder.

She looked worried that Moiya might get into trouble again.

“Yeah, the accident has already happened, Rosie.”

“Everyone is gathered here.”

Rosie said shyly, glancing at Prince Norton.

“I’m going down to the restaurant now. Let’s go down together.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Moiya’s bombshell came flying at Rosie, who was smiling calmly.

“Norton doesn’t want to mate with you. You’re a loser, Moiya~.”

“!”

Prince Norton was startled by something he didn’t even say and looked at Moiya with a look that said, “What’s this?”

“But he says your body is amazing. He says you’re pretty even without Blue Diamond. I guess Norton has poor eyesight like you.”

An awkward silence descended.

“I’m going to go play in the forest. I’ve made a lot of butterfly friends.”

Moiya, who felt the life in Rosie, hurriedly flew to the open window in the hallway.

She stretched out her arms and tried to catch and kill Moiya, who was running away, but she failed.

“We should go down first.”

Linel pushed me back slightly toward the landing.

Even as we moved away, Prince Norton’s expression was still blank.

I just hope Rosie will clean up what Moiya has done.

***

The first night of the Continental Hunting Competition was going amicably.

After the meal, various fruits were served for dessert.

The concubines mentioned the wild strawberries and berries they had picked in the forest, and were delighted to find fruits to eat like that tomorrow.

Melanie whispered to Rosie in a very small voice that she wished there were more valleys and lakesides in the forest rather than fruits.

As they were chatting away, when the topic of the weather came up, everyone spoke in unison.

It was around the time when they were worried about the much hotter summer weather than usual, and suggested that they start hunting tomorrow morning.

“Ugh.”

A small retching sound was heard from somewhere.

Several of the guests and concubines turned their gazes toward the direction of the retching sound.

“Pesilini again?”

In particular, the eyes of the concubines and some of the guests who had already witnessed Pesilini retching at the Lapion Imperial Palace were focused more on her.

“Are you okay?”

Rosie asked Pesilini, who was sitting in front of her.

“Yes, the orange smell was a bit strong... I’m okay now.”

Does anyone find the orange smell strong?

Looking at the concubines, it seemed like they all thought the same as me.

My gaze naturally turned to where Prince Tesla was sitting.

As I had expected, Prince Tesla was glancing at Pesilini.

However, the Prince’s gaze as he looked at her was... not worried, but rather, an extremely annoying look.

I suspect that Pecilini is pregnant with Prince Tesla’s child, but I haven’t found any convincing evidence yet.

If Pecilini is indeed pregnant with Prince Tesla’s child, I somehow feel like I should keep an eye on her.

A few minutes later, Pecilini was happily smiling as if she had never felt nauseated before and was eating grapes.

Since Pecilini was eating grapes so deliciously, I took a bite of the grape in front of me.

“Wow, this is so sour.”

I couldn’t help but think.

The grapes were still unripe, so they were very sour.

I looked at Pecilini, who was comfortably eating sour grapes as if she were eating chocolate, with curious eyes.

***

Roxana returned from the witch’s house.

The servant guarding the door approached Roxana and whispered,

“He has been waiting for you for two hours.”

There was only one person who would come to her room.

Roxana sighed softly, calmed her expression, and went into her room.

“You’re late.”

“I apologize for keeping you waiting, Your Majesty.”

“Did it take a long time for the attendant’s wounds to heal?”

“Yes... Ah, it took some time to choose a dress in the costume shop.”

Roxana touched Zelda’s dress that she had secretly stolen and put on, looking at Hetor.

“It suits you well. It’s better than the dress you were wearing earlier.”

Hetor, who had been looking Roxana up and down with an indifferent gaze, let out a word of praise in an even more indifferent voice.

“...Thank you.”

Roxana felt strange.

‘Better than the dress I wore?’

There was something about that that didn’t suit her.

Maybe it was because the dress belonged to Empress Zelda, but she felt an inexplicable sense of irritation.

“Why are you standing there?”

“Huh?”

“Do you have to tell me everything you need to do when you see me?”

“Oh, I’m sorry. I’m going to take a bath.”

“Hurry up.”

Hetor picked up the parchment he had been looking at on the table and went to Roxana’s bed very naturally, leaning his back against the headboard.

‘What is that guy looking at? Is it a map?’

Roxana stared at the parchment that Hetor was looking at and headed to the bathroom. After finishing her bath, Roxana returned to the bedroom and approached the bed without making a sound.

Hetor was still asleep, holding the parchment in both hands. Roxana carefully approached the sleeping Hetor and looked down at the parchment in his hand.

'The map was right.'

It was a map that expanded from the Lapion Empire to the Valley of Death. Judging by the red lines drawn, it seemed to be the route of the Continental Hunting Competition.

'Elanji Forest' was written near the red lines on the map. There were also places where house shapes were drawn here and there, which seemed to be villas where the VIPs stayed.

Roxana pointed to the villa marked closest to the Lapion Palace in the Ellanji Forest.

'That must be the villa I visited today using space teleportation.'

She snickered as she recalled her impulsive behavior.

It was a reckless act that would have gotten her whipped all night if her father had found out.

It was also the first impulsive act she had ever committed in her life.

Moving to another space without fear, naked.

It was a dizzying moment even when she thinks back on it.

'But I didn't get caught. And...'

Roxana recalled the feeling of Emperor Linel embracing her from behind, thinking of her as his wife. She tried not to forget the hand that affectionately stroked her back.

But that moment already felt like a distant memory. She wrapped her arms around herself with regret.

“Did you wash?”

“!”

Roxana flinched in surprise as Hetor spoke with his eyes closed. She was surprised for a moment, but Linel’s voice overlapped with Hetor’s words.

‘Did you wash? Can I check?’

Emperor Linel had said the same thing there.

However, the two men were not only different in their faces, but also in the feelings they gave off.

“Yes, Your Majesty. You weren’t asleep?”

“I woke up. Because of your scent.”

If it were any other time, she would have laughed inwardly and not even asked...

“What... scent do I have?”

Roxana asked curiously.

She suddenly remembered what Linel had said.

‘The scent has changed? The original scent was better.’

So she was curious. What scent did she have?

The scent of the soap that Empress Zelda used was a lilac scent with a faint hint of rose.

“Scent? Yes. A proud scent.”

Hetor replied briefly to Roxana’s serious expression.

Roxana frowned.

“Not bad. It’s a good scent. Even though you’re awkward in bed, the reason I don’t kick you out is because of your scent.”

Hetor grabbed Roxana’s arm and laid her down on the bed.

“I wish Emperor Linel thought the same as this barbarian.”

She closed her eyes as Hetor’s sturdy upper body approached her.

After all, she wouldn’t be able to see anything if she closed her eyes.

Just like her past.

But the future would be different, Roxana promised herself.

***

After dinner, the guests sat down and drank wine, and got drunk. Everyone began to drink too much, saying that the wine that had been stored in the villa for a long time had aged incredibly well. As the night grew deeper, one by one, they staggered back to their rooms, and Linel and I also came into our rooms and lay down on the bed.

“I can taste the wine in your mouth.”

Linel licked my lips once and then smiled softly.

“Really? Then stop now, you’re already drunk.”

I said, pushing his chest with both hands.

In fact, I had no intention of pushing him away.

There was no strength in my hands pushing his chest.

“No, the alcohol soothes me more?”

He shook his head from side to side and insisted.

“It seems like everything wakes up at night, Linel...”

“So what, you’re tired? But you’ve been talking less lately, Empress.”

“I guess my nights are shorter because of someone.”

“In return, I’ll make you feel good for a long time... Then, will you let me off easy? Yes?”

Linel’s husky voice was caught in my collarbone and gradually lowered.

I took a deep breath and felt him.

His hands and breath holding me made me feel good already, and I laughed as I heard my breath leaking out between my teeth.

But the moment a happy scream was about to escape my mouth,

“Gyaaak!!”

A scream of pain was heard from somewhere else.

Linel raised his head and met my eyes.

After confirming that the scream was not coming from my mouth, he spoke first.

“...What is it?”

“Really? What does that mean?”

“Stay here. I’ll go out and check.”

Linel quickly got up from the bed.
