TJOC - Chapter 11

Aaron shook his head with a smirk, looking like he didn't know what to say. There was a hint of thirst in his eyes as he tried to avoid Leila. A sigh-like exhalation escaped his lips.

“That’s not it...”

“...”

“That’s it, back then.”

Aaron's gaze returned. His eyes were looking at her without the slightest wavering, as if he had avoided her. She felt like she was sinking into his pupils. Leila's back stiffened slightly.

“I’ve never been this excited before. But now, just... Just holding you like this makes me feel like I’m going to die. I’m getting dizzy.”

“Why are you being kind to me?”

Instead of answering, Aaron hugged her tighter. Something warm touched the nape of her neck. It was lips. It tickled pleasantly. When Leila flinched at the unfamiliar sensation, Aaron whispered pleadingly.

“Leila is too pretty for someone like me.”

“Aaron is handsome.”

“That’s not what I meant.”

Aaron laughs softly. The lukewarm breath on the nape of her neck made Leila's limbs relax. It felt good. It wasn't just simply good, it was so creepy that it was indescribable. The lips brushing against hers, the lips rubbing against hers, the breath hotter than her body temperature.

So all Leila could do was hold onto his clothes tightly and keep herself from shaking.

“I missed you.”

Her heart was pounding. She answered inwardly. 'I did that too.' It was because she remembered Penny telling her not to say she liked a guy out loud. She always said things that didn't make sense, but she had more dating experience than she did.

Aaron continued.

“I know I shouldn’t be like this, but Leila is accepting me like this and showing me kindness. I can’t help it. Little by little... little by little.”

“...”

“I couldn’t sleep at night when Leila didn’t come. The flower basket I left in front of the house was also an excuse. I thought I could at least see your face if I went there with the excuse of thanking you. But your house was empty, so how much? That day... Leila... Leila. You really...”

Aaron's voice, which had been continuing as if he was going to cry, became thinner and thinner, and eventually became 'Leila.' For the first time, she felt like he was a child. Leila eventually ignored Penny's advice.

“Me too. I missed you.”

“You missed me?”

“I kept thinking about you... And I kind of hated it. It was kind of ticklish. Hmm.”

Aaron's arms soon tightened around her, making her spine ache. The moment Aaron bit the nape of her neck, Leila groaned and shuddered.

“Ah! Yes, let’s go to sleep... Ah!”

Aaron didn't stop and placed kisses that were never light on her neck, jaw, and earlobes. His breathing became ragged. Leila unconsciously hugged his back, feeling the pleasant goosebumps that made the back of her neck stand on end.

“Aaron, do you like me?”

Aaron, who had been stiff as if he hadn't expected such a straight ball, burst into a breathless laugh.

“This is really unacceptable... Are all the Casniers this honest?”

“I’ve never seen a dishonest person except Penny. Oh, and Andrew too.”

“Andrew?”

“There’s a stupid kid.”

“Leila, I like you.”

Leila's body tilted toward Aaron. As she groaned and held onto Aaron's knee to keep her balance, a warm kiss dug into her, which Leila could only describe as such.

Warm breaths mixed. The tightly held back hair twitched in his grip. The tongue digging into the lips that were open for moans was unfamiliar. The excited breath flowing into the lungs with each breath was also unfamiliar.

Everything felt like an adventure.

This is what it felt like to be a stranger's tongue. He tangled, sucked, and gently rubbed her hardened tongue. He swallowed even the moans that escaped from the pain of crushing their lips a little harder. She breath hitched to the tip of her chin, and she just wanted to cling to this person.

At that moment, Aaron opened his lips instead. His breathing was more rapid and labored than usual. A low, cracked voice whispered in his ear.

“Can I kiss you again?”

“...You already did it.”

“This time, think carefully and allow it.”

“...”

“If you don’t refuse, I’ll do it again.”

“Why should I think carefully?”

'I already did it,' Leila muttered, pressing the back of her hand to her flushed cheek.

“You really don’t know?”

Aaron smiled with a slightly embarrassed expression.

“If you keep kissing.”

A large hand ran down the back of her neck, past her chin, down her shoulder. It slid a little slower, reaching her plump breasts. The hand was hot, the autumn was cool, and her heart was racing.

“...I want to do it like this.”

Leila unconsciously lowered her eyes and looked down at her chest, which was barely touching his fingertips.

“Then, the next time, you’ll want it even more... even more. So, ah... also, it’s good to be like this, ignorant and well-behaved... No, I’m not teasing you on purpose.”

His ears turned red, and he seemed to be rubbing his face, trying desperately to calm himself down.

“So what I mean is.”

"...hmm."

“I like Leila, so I keep losing patience. I should be grateful just to see you and talk to you, but I keep forgetting the topic. When I see you like this, I have to...”

Aaron's voice was pushing but cracking like begging, pleading, but with a deep sense of desperation, so Leila finally spoke honestly.

“I want to do more.”

It was unexpected that Aaron's expression began to distort.

‘Oh, maybe I spoke too openly.’ She felt nervous inside.

"...Ah."

Aaron, who had jumped up, turned around and was pacing around the campfire, rubbing his face. He was groaning, swearing at someone she didn't know - "Fuck", "Fuck", "She's a Ramrock" - and muttering to God - "God". Why did he seek God when he hated the sound of church bells?

'Cute.'

Leila tried a slightly more daring prank.

“Do I have to wait long?”

“Damn, what if you give in to everything a guy asks you to do?”

“Not just anyone can accept it.”

"Ah..."

“If you don’t like it, then don’t say anything. It’s a shame.”

“...Leila, please.”

Leila, who had been touching her knees, snickered. A good person. A person like that must have been unable to endure the terrifying battlefield and fled. He said he was ashamed of himself, but perhaps it was because he was ashamed of not being a courageous soldier, but Leila liked his lack of courage.

“Aaron... where are you from?”

“Fuck, what am I thinking right now... Ah, I’m from Eastern Rock...”

“Then, should I say you are a rock star?”

Aaron, who had been mumbling to himself, stood tall. He was biting his lip, half-hiding his chin, so Leila could only see his eyes. But wouldn't that be enough? Those were the eyes that were longing for her.

She couldn't tell anyone with confidence. She still had doubts that she might be making the wrong choice. But the heart doesn't always follow the head, right?

She didn't know how to stop the feelings that were rushing into her wide-open chest. She didn't want to worry too much.

“I’m a Casnier. I’ve never heard of a Casnier and a Rock-born being on bad terms. So I wish you’d just be a little less concerned...”

Aaron approached her with long strides. The atmosphere was so ominous that she felt a little nervous.

“Oh, but it’s a little scary when you look at me like that. It’s just a kiss.”

Aaron knelt before her. Leila looked into the eyes of the stars that had descended on the Cask. They were so beautiful that it was hard to look at them for long. Leila pulled her trembling lips and smiled, slowly closing her eyes. It was thrilling.

“I promise... I will.”

She felt Aaron's face getting closer. She couldn't open her eyes because she was embarrassed.

“Just the lips...”

Leila thought nervously.

I was wrong. How could I be excited by such a poor man? He's a Dubliner, and my father might come with a club and beat him. But what can I do with a good thing? What am I doing? Oh, what should I do? This is really bad. Just a kiss. Just a kiss...

But the moment their lips touch, her head is filled with a white light.

It was a magical night, one that later left Leila feeling a little uneasy.
