THIBV - Chapter 80

That doesn't mean Eleanor came to her senses.

Her anger was directed at Bridget, nor Isaac.

'That woman stole my son, and she used tricks to keep him completely out of his mind!'

If this happens, it's a do-or-die situation.

Now that she was an old woman with not much time left to live, she didn't care if the King came and killed her.

Eleanor decided to risk her life to protect her family from her treacherous daughter-in-law.

"Penelope! Penelope, come here!"

Eleanor called out loud to Penelope.

Penelope had been standing on the stairs for some time, eavesdropping on the conversation downstairs.

She came down with an oblivious face as if she had been coming down to the commotion, pretended to be startled, and supported Eleanor.

"Mom! Are you okay?"

"Oh my. I'm fine."

Eleanor got up. patting her back.

Isaac glared at Penelope.

"I heard from the butler that you called my mother?"

'That annoying butler.'

Penelope hated Cedric so much for not telling Isaac anything advantageous to her and only telling him disadvantageous things.

"I just..."

"Why did you do something useless and create this situation? Are you thinking about it or not? I told you to be quiet!"

Isaac was becoming increasingly annoyed with Penelope.

If she hadn't been pregnant, I would have kicked her out long ago.

He added, watching Bridget's expression.

"And who is your mother? What connection do you have with this family?"

Then Eleanor heard Penelope's surname.

"What are you talking about? Why isn't this child related to our family? The child in this belly is your child!"

"Yes, that's right, but strictly speaking, Penelope is still a Bellingham, Mother."

Penelope quickly wiped away her tears.

"Look at this, Mother. Is it just as I said?"

Eleanor was worried that Penelope would run away with her grandchild.

"I don't think this will work. I need to make this issue clear. Everyone, gather in the reception room."

"Mother, do you know how busy Bridget is?"

"What, are you busy with qs concubine? This is absolutely outrageous. What a world! Bridget, you are also responsible for this. If you were truly the mistress of the Winston family, you wouldn't have let this child's problem go unchallenged like this. Isn't that right? If you won't fulfill your duties as a mistress, then divorce Isaac!"

Isaac jumped at the mention of divorce. He was doing everything he could to prevent it.

"Mother, why do you say that! Oh, really."

But Bridget actually agreed with Eleanor.

"Yes, I think so too."

The reason Bridget came to Winston Mansion today was because of Penelope's child.

Bridget was waiting for this day.

Isaac whispered to Bridget.

"What are you trying to do?"

"What can I say? Mother is right. It's time to sort out the family register issue."

"But that is..."

Bridget pushed Isaac away from her, took the lead, and headed toward the living room.

Isaac, Penelope, and Eleanor followed.

***

Write the memorandum immediately.

Eleanor placed a piece of paper and pen on the table.

"Write that you will adopt Penelope's child and register it in the family register."

The reception room was quiet.

This time Isaac didn't stop Eleanor.

Deep down, that was what he wanted too.

It appears that Bridget has had no children.

If Bridget gets pregnant, it will be Julian's child, not mine...

Isaac was also greedy about his seed.

They don't have many children, and right now the only one is the one in Penelope's womb.

That first child was something he wanted to take in.

However, it was a story that could not be brought up because Bridget and Penelope were not on good terms.

It was Bridget's sole prerogative to register the child, but it was convenient to have Eleanor take on this task on her behalf.

Eleanor hammered the nail in firmly.

"You can't get out of here unless you write a memorandum."

She was serious. She was going to hold on to Bridget and hang on until her life was cut off.

Bridget sighed.

"Yes. Let's write a memorandum."

It was a simpler answer than she thought.

Penelope looked at Eleanor, unable to hide her smile.

"But I have a proposal."

"Proposal?"

Bridget called Cedric over and whispered something to him.

Then Cedric opened the door to the living room wide and brought someone in.

They were the passengers who had ridden in Bridget's carriage earlier.

"Mother."

"Benjamin? Daisy? What are you guys doing here?"

"My sister-in-law called me."

They were Isaac's younger brother and sister-in-law.

"Today is a day when we have to deal with a very important family matter, so I thought it would be right to discuss it with the whole family."

"Well... I don't think it's Benjamin's place to get involved, but you have a point."

Eleanor and Isaac didn't pay much attention to Benjamin.

I just thought, why bother?

But Bridget's next words were like a bolt from the blue.

"I'm going to give Mother and Isaac a choice. Either register one of Benjamin or Daisy's children to become the heir to the Winston family, or register Penelope's child."

Benjamin and Daisy, who married and had children at a young age, already had two sons, aged seven and four."

"What...?"

Isaac snorted.

"Why are you putting your nephew on the family register when my child is fine? It's ridiculous."

Bridget looked at Benjamin with a surprised look on her face.

"Benjamin, Daisy. How are you two?"

"Sister-in-law, this is so sudden..."

Then Daisy gently stepped on Benjamin's foot.

"Honey."

Bridget was doing this because she wanted to get Penelope off her feet without any other intentions.

Daisy knew this was a great opportunity.

During that time, Daisy had many sorrows while taking care of Eleanor.

Eleanor was a demanding and harsh mother-in-law.

She always compared Benjamin to Isaac, saying, "Eldest son, eldest son," as if it were a habit, and he treated Daisy no better than a maid.

Benjamin also had sorrow, having been compared to his brother his whole life.

Isaac's father and mother, concerned that if the property were divided, it would be difficult for the family to maintain its prestige, left little of their property to Benjamin and left it all to Isaac.

All Benjamin received was Fleanor's farm and land.

However, Isaac, who inherited everything, did not even want to support his mother and passed it on to Benjamin.

Benjamin set foot in the beautiful Winston mansion today for the first time in a long time.

He also lived in this magnificent mansion when he was young.

But now?

'If I do well. I might be able to come back here again.'

If his child becomes the heir to the Winston family, then there will be a chance that Isaac's children will be born and registered in the family register in some way.

You never know what will happen to people.

"I'm happy. If my child is registered in your family register, he will be able to receive a good education and live in a nice mansion like this."

Bridget smiled as she saw the desire in Benjamin and Daisy's eyes.

"Benjamin! What kind of unconscionable thing is that? You're going to push your child into my house when I have a child coming soon? I can't tolerate that."

"I'm just saying that if you want, I'll accept your offer."

Isaac questioned Bridget.

"Bridget, what are you doing? Yes?"

"Think carefully, Isaac. I can keep Penelope's children, or anyone else, out of the family register. Of course, I won't bear you any children, It was written in the government contract you signed that you wouldn't mind not having an heir from me."

Eleanor was furious.

"That's ridiculous! You have to have children and continue the family line! If you won't fulfill that duty, then divorce Isaac immediately!"

Bridget looked at Eleanor.

"What I mean is, even if I don't have an heir, Isaac can't divorce me over that, Mother. Because he agreed and signed it."
