TCIWTFY - Part 2 Chapter 40

'Our Master has no such carelessness."

After finishing his report and leaving the Princess's palace, Kensington was secretly impressed by his master who was calmly embroidering the next number.

How will the 4th Princess, who usually hates her husband as if she were going to kill him, react to Samon's misfortune?

He was amazed at the precision with which she gradually pushed Samon's body and mind towards the edge of the cliff.

"Lord Kensington, I am afraid."

At that moment. Neril, who was walking next to Kensington, suddenly spoke.

"What do you mean?"

"I am afraid of Her Highness the Princess."

Kensington stopped walking, not understanding what Neril was saying.

"Valdina is no longer the small country it once was. Rather, it has grown strong enough to threaten Katzen, yet His Highness the Princess still refuses to stop using it."

It was the same today. Medea ordered her to stay by Peleus' side.

"You're the only one I can trust. Can you do that, Neril?"

"Don't worry about me. If everything goes according to plan, we'll be fine."

Neril also knew that this was to ensure Peleus' safety and to prevent his interference.

But no matter how many numbers she prepares, unexpected situations always arise.

Neril flinched.

The scene of shards of broken stained glass flying towards Medea was still vivid in her mind.

Living as a knight, she has experienced firsthand that life and death are always divided in a split second.

"Her Highness is not a god. One day, you may become irreversible."

"..."

"But no one can stop her. How dare they?"

She can't even reach the point where she sees her.

Neril bit her lip. Kensington patted her shoulder.

He understood both Neril and the princess.

"Not all of Her Highness's judgments can be understood by our minds. I dare not stop her. I understand your agony."

"..."

"We have no choice but to do our best to protect Her Highness, even while going through these worries and anxieties."

"Yes."

Neril nodded.

"One day, there will come a day when you will smile and remember today as a fleeting worry."

"...Please."

Leaving her deepening worries behind, the sound of footsteps grew distant again.

***

Several days had passed since the first day of the Continental Era when the Temple of El Amuz exploded.

An investigation team was launched to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the destruction of the temple.

"Blowing up the temple? This must be the work of heretics who are trying to suppress our old religion. What are you guys doing? Don't miss a single clue!"

Priests of the Holy Land, including Paul, were also present.

While Samon was struggling between life and death, the investigation team searched the scene like a thief.

And they found it.

"A large quantity of gunpowder was hidden in the cellar beneath the altar, right where His Majesty the Emperor performed his rites."

"Someone tried to assassinate His Majesty."

The investigation team soon transformed into a search party to find the perpetrators of the attempted assassination of the Emperor.

It was a crazy thing for Claudio.

Rather than receiving compensation for the damage his son got involved in, he was sure to be caught and exposed.

Besides, Samon's injuries were so serious.

Despite the desperate efforts of the Claudio family, no valiant doctor could restore Samon's leg.

"This is hopeless. Just focus on rehabilitation."

Even the doctor who Raju had secretly returned to the Katzen Empire and brought back in a hurry shook his head.

"Saintess, please help our son, please grant the miracle of the Goddess to Samon!"

"How dare you speak the name of our Saintess so carelessly! Get out of here!"

Finally, Catherine went to see Saintess Rachel but was rejected without even seeing her face.

Even the holy water that was barely collected had no effect.

The miracle of being able to rebuild a bridge that has already been broken is impossible even in the history of the Holy Land.

The crowd that gathered that night on St. Augustine must have numbered in the thousands.

The news that Samon Claudio had lost a leg spread throughout the world.

"It's unfortunate, but maybe it's because the opponent is Claudio, but I feel like they're a total loser!"

A very drunk man shook his beer glass as if to celebrate.

"Why not! Why on earth were you there? Why were you alone and gloomily under the altar during the festival when everyone was busy eating and playing?"

"That's what I'm saying. Weren't you planning something? There was gunpowder hidden where he was. He was going to blow it up at Our Majesty, but it ended up happening to him instead!"

Medea opened the floodgates, and the spark of suspicion that began through the mouths of the red foxes also grew in size.

"Aha! So the goddess knew first and punished him!"

"The goddess protects the Emperor of Valdina. That means no evil dogs can harm Our Majesty!"

"Ahahaha, if only Samon Claudio had known that, he would have saved his limbs!"

"One of his legs is in such a bad shape, I wonder if his middle leg is okay!"

The praise for Peleus and the ridicule for Claudio were inversely proportional.

"Why on earth, why did it turn out like this!"

Joaquin felt like he was going crazy when public opinion turned in completely unexpected directions, like when his son and daughter were oppressed by Minister Etienne.

It seemed like he had aged by decades.

"Ahhhh! Medeaaaaa!"

At that moment, an ear-piercing scream was heard. It was coming from Samon's room.

"What's going on! Are you crazy?"

Joaquin, who pushed his way through the helpless servants, found his wife throwing all sorts of things around like a madman.

"Then I am no longer mad? Medea, this girl is insulting me, our Samon!"

Catherine's flushed face looked ready to burst at any moment.

"What is that-"

Joaquin stopped in his tracks whe ln he saw a basket of flowers scattered on the floor. Next to it were bottles of what looked like holy water, broken here and there.

"Look! Look straight with your own eyes!"

He picked up the gold-plated card his wife was handing him.

[They say that good people are embraced by the Gods and evil people are struck by the Gods' hammer. I hope that with the goddess's protection, Brother Samon recovers quickly.]

The short card didn't have any names or anything written on it.

However, it was not difficult to guess who the owner of the neat handwriting was, and who would spare no expense in mocking an opponent.

"Medea, did that girl come and go?"

"You can't tell even if you look at it with your own eyes! Ugh! That girl. Samon, ugh!"

Catherine burst out in laughter again, falling onto her son's face as he closed his eyes.

Joaquin crumpled the card.

When Samonbegged and pleaded like that, the woman who never showed her face came to him in person because he looked like this?

What else could it be but to laugh at themselves!

"This, this insolent..."

Joaquin's eyes, red with anger like his wife's, saw a carriage parked in the mansion's courtyard.

And the moment he noticed the coat of arms of the Valdina royal family painted on the carriage, Joaquin's eyes lit up.

"There! There!"

Medea was just about to board the carriage when Joaquin rushed out like a fire-breathing dragon.

"Medea, you damned woman!"

And he threw the crumpled card at her.

He threw the card so hard that it fell, hitting the hem of Medea's dress.

Swish.

As Neril was about to draw her sword without saying a word, a white hand tapped Neril's forearm to steady her.

And said hello to Joaquin.

"I am sorry, Uncle. I did not know that you would distort my kindness like this, even if It was not a thank you."

Her drooping eyebrows were as if she was feeling sorry. Her soft voice, h /er friendly tone of speech. She was no different from the Medea of old.

Just like when she tricked Joaquin by pretending to be a powerless half-Princess!

"You. It was your doing, Medea!"

Joaquin, who had been deceived by her and lost both his title and his power, instinctively realized it.

Although he didn't know the exact cause or the whole story, he was certain that Medea was behind this incident.
