TCIWTFY - Part 2 Chapter 41

"You did this to my son!"

"Uncle, you must be careful about what you say that you cannot take responsibility for. If you are not confident that you can face us alone."

"..."

Joaquin paused.

This girl is no longer alone. Beyond her insignificant shoulder lies Peleus, and now a vast new empire.

Joaquin suddenly became afraid when even Samon, who had been Ieading his family like the only lighthouse, collapsed like that.

The pain from that day when a piece of metal had been stuck in one of his blindfolded eyes seemed to surge back.

"Uncle, what if you just tuck your tail in like a dog that's been hit with a club?"

A refreshing laugh, like water droplets breaking, erupted, completely out of sync with the insulting language it contained.

"Well, it's time to look at the reality in front of you. I know. My uncle is acting so miserable as if you've lost everything. But you haven't given up yet."

"..."

"But your only son, who could make that dream come true, ended up Iike that..."

Medea's eyes drooped as if she felt pity.

"It would be difficult to leave behind even my uncle's bloodline, let alone a candidate for Valdina's succession."

The provocative voice was slow and sweet.

Each syllable was like a knife piercing Joaquin's heart, making his blood flow.

"It is truly a blessing for us. Seeing that this has happened to my uncle, as well as my brother Samon. I think the goddess must have awakened my uncle."

"..."

"I dare say, throw away that vain dream that doesn't even fit your abilities."

"Medea, you look so happy. You look so excited."

Joaquin gritted his teeth as he spoke, but Medea calmly bent her knees slightly.

"Then, uncle, please take care of yourself. This will be the last time I see you while I am alive."

It was said with the assumption that Joaquin would never return to his homeland of Valdina.

Dulgurrur.

Medea's carriage drove off, raising a cloud of dust.

Joaquin stood there, his eyes bloodshot as if nailed to the spot.

Until the antique Valdina royal emblem is no longer visible.

"...Fuck."

He couldn't take a single taunt from his fucking niece.

Because it was all true.

Joaquin never for a moment gave up his desire for the throne.

Even now that one eye is gone.

There was a strange hope, one that even he thought was absurd, but it was there.

One day he will return to Valdina and regain his place.

"But my only son, who could make that dream come true, ended up like that...'

Medea's voice from earlier replayed in his head.

"My blood. My lineage. My..."

With Samon crippled, his long-heId wish is now impossible...

Joaquin's heart grew impatient. Was it really the end?

'Is there still no chance left for me...?'

He started to get absorbed.

Without realizing that he had fallen into Medea's trap.

At that moment, when his son was on the verge of death and his wife was crying.

Joaquin Claudio was a selfish and self-centered man from birth to the core.

'It can't just end like this.'

Joaquin bit his lip.

A poison as fragrant as a rose sprouted in his head.

"Samon! Come to your senses!"

At that time, Samon finally woke up.

***

Claudio's mansion.

"Ahhhhh!"

The sharp scream that pierced the clear sky resonated similarly to that of Birna, who had once been his blood relative.

"A cripple! Are you saying I'm a cripple?! Don't lie to me!"

The fluttering hems of his trousers felt unfamiliar.

The wooden splint that had been in place of his right leg, and the story that one of his legs was missing, all seemed like lies.

It certainly would have been so, if it weren't for the dull ache that was constantly pounding at his body.

He couldn't believe it.

'Why me? Why?'

Why did I end up like this and not Peleus?

"Ahhhhhh! This is ridiculous!"

"Simon, hhhhh!"

Catherine shed tears as she felt sorry for her son who could not accept reality.

"Simon, my son, ugh, don't get excited, you must remain absolutely calm..."

Clang!

Before he could finish speaking, there was a sharp crack. Samon had picked up the cup next to him and thrown it down.

“Samon!”

As Raju stood guard over Catherine, Samon was already grabbing the doctor next to him by the collar and threatening him.

"Speak! Tell the truth!"

"Master, what Madam said is right. Da, the leg can't be revived-"

The doctor trembled as he answered, but it was not the answer that Samon was looking for. As his eyes widened like an animal, the doctor's neck shrank even further.

"It's true. I tried every possible method, but there was absolutely no hope-"

"Shut up! Before I rip your mouth off!"

Samon shouted fiercely.

He was thinking of pulling out the sword standing by the bedside and cutting off the doctor's insolent tongue.

But the moment he tried to get up, his body began to sway on its own, as he could not keep his center of gravity on one leg.

Thud-!

A jolt, louder than the sound of his body hitting the furniture, struck Samon's head.

'This won't work?'

His eyes widened in shock.

It was a very simple movement that could hardly be called an act, just getting up from one's seat.

But even that simple thing was impossible.

The fluttering of his right leg's trousers drove the cold reality into Samon's head.

The unbearable shock and shame boiled over him like lava.

"Samon!"

"Master!"

With a surprised look on his face, he shook off the hands of those who tried to support him and sat down, stretching out his arm and holding his sword.

"Say no! Say you can fix it! Say you will fix it, even if it means risking your worthless life!"

When the sharp sword was placed against the doctor's stomach, the doctor trembled as if his life was in danger.

"Please, please spare my life."

"I'm telling you, that's a lie!"

That day, in Claudio's mansion, the sound of a beast howling did not stop for a long time.

***

But just as surviving the explosion seemed to have exhausted all his luck, Samon's misfortunes were not over yet.

Before he could even accept the shock of his missing right leg, a golden letter came flying in.

"Master..."

"What, again!"

"This is a letter from Her Highness the 4th Princess."

When Samon checked the letter, his face became as evil as a demon.

It was a divorce paper.

It was so incredibly fast. It was as if someone had placed a guard next to him just for this moment.

When the 4th Princess heard the news of Samon's accident, she couldn't bear it any longer.

She somehow tolerated the fact that the idiots were using her. But the moment Samon's leg became crippled, she saw hope.

A golden opportunity to break off this tiresome relationship.

"Oh, oh, oh, please. Do you want me to be tied to a cripple for the rest of my life?"

Emperor Perdiccas II of Katzen also threw his teacup upon hearing the news of Samon's accident.

He was expecting some unfortunate accident to happen to the insolent Valdina's skeleton.

Not to mention the news that Peleus's only rival, for whom he had paid a high price, had lost his body, thus making his lineage completely unshakable!

"I didn't cross the strait just for something so worthless! Didn't I personally lay the foundation for Valdina?!"

But neither the Emperor's anger nor Catherine's desperation could reattach Samon's broken leg.

Samon, who received the divorce papers, tore them into pieces.

"Fuck! Fuck!"

He slipped and fell on a piece of torn paper while supporting himself with one uncomfortable leg.

"I've become such a cripple that I can't even stand properly!"

Samon shouted, unable to contain his rage that threatened to burst his chest.

The people had no courage to stop the crazy, raging Samon.

After losing his legs, Samon became a very different person.

He was very irritable and got angry easily.

When something came up that he couldn't do on his own, he would just pick up anything he could find and throw it.

Family members were no exceptiоn.

Even Catherine, who cherished her son so dearly, was almost hit by an ashtray thrown by Samon.

He was now the tyrant of this small mansion.

Every other day, the caregivers, fed up with his hysteria, came running out crying.

It was the same even then.

"Ugh!"

Unable to control his anger, Samon rolled around on the floor. He kept slipping because his legs wouldn't listen to him.
