7MIP - Chapter 75

The moment when the palace slowly wakes up.

The Emperor's chamberlain greeted Agatha, who had come early in the morning.

“Marchioness Aratus, you have arrived early. His Majesty is still in his bedroom.”

As expected of the head of the chamberlain, he looked neat even in the early morning, but his slightly dilated pupils showed a hint of doubt.

“I will wait in the reception room. Will you tell His Majesty that I am here?”

“Yes, please do so, Marchioness.”

The chief chamberlain who had guided Agatha to the first reception room disappeared, saying he would report to the Emperor.

The cool air typical of early morning flowed in through the slightly open window of the living room.

As she waited, enjoying the refreshments brought out by the servants, news soon arrived that the Emperor had coughed.

“Would you like to have breakfast together?” he asked.

“Please tell him I would be happy to do so.”

The Emperor, who greeted his goddaughter in the breakfast room as soon as he woke up, looked obviously tired.

“I guess I'm getting older. The mornings are not so refreshing.”

“You seem to have been in very good health during the hunting season. If you eat some good nutritious food, you will feel better soon.”

When Agatha refused to accept the joke, the Emperor motioned for her to sit at the table.

A simple meal was served, consisting of fresh, half-boiled eggs, salad, fruit, butter, syrup, and thin, flat bread, topped with freshly squeezed fruit juice.

“Would you like some milk?”

"Your Majesty."

“Kekeke, can’t you concentrate? Let’s just listen first.”

Agatha began breakfast with the Emperor. She ate melted butter on bread with syrup and had yogurt for dessert.

As the meal was almost over, the Emperor opened his mouth strangely.

“You’re dressed up so scary this morning. Is something wrong?”

“There is a war in the Nobilis territory. The announcement from the opposing side should have reached the Imperial Household by now.”

The Emperor's hand, which was eating dessert, stopped at Agatha's report.

“You don’t have any relatives?”

“Baron Elibeth is involved. I’m more concerned about the other four families.”

“The seat of the master has been empty for a long time, so it looks like the lynxes are starting to swarm.”

The Emperor ordered his chief chamberlain to retrieve the proclamation that had been submitted to the Imperial Household Department.

The Emperor's analysis could be said to be accurate.

If a legitimate successor is born to Nobilis, all blood relatives will submit to him.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to covet that wealthy estate any longer.

“Enoch will be leaving soon.”

“Still, it’s a good thing this happened while you were still married.”

The Emperor clicked his tongue and gave advice to Agatha.

“Use this opportunity to make sure that they never dare do something like this again.”

“I think so.”

The foundation of a family is its territory. If the area around the territory is peaceful, then it can overcome any problem.

Agatha took a sip of juice and looked at the Emperor strangely. The Emperor opened his mouth after checking the proclamation presented by the chamberlain.

“You know that I can’t help you, right?”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Territorial wars are legitimate territorial conquest battles between noble families that also appear in imperial law.

Here, the Emperor, as the guardian of imperial law, would maintain neutrality by mediating and judging victory or defeat.

There are always exceptions.

“But wouldn’t it be possible for His Majesty to grant you some convenience? For example, to allow us to pass through His Majesty’s direct territory?”

“I’m not getting involved in the war.”

The Emperor, seeing Agatha smiling beautifully, gave her what she wanted with a hollow laugh.

It was a pass that allowed passage across imperial territory and the right to unrestricted movement of troops while on the march.

“Don’t go back. Just go.”

“Thank you, Your Majesty. I will try to repay Your Majesty’s kindness this time as well.”

That's it. Agatha left the Emperor's palace with a bright smile on her face.

The faces of the escort knights, including the first vice-captain and the maidservant who noticed the green light in her expression, brightened.

“Madam, you succeeded.”

“Let's go back quickly.”

It was time to tell Enoch the good news.

As she returned to the mansion with the documents that the Emperor had stamped, the eyes of the vassals and knights who had been moving around busily gathered together.

“Madam, have you returned?”

Allen's eyes, which came out to greet her, were filled with anticipation that could not be hidden.

“Everyone to the conference room.”

“Yes, Ma’am.”

Enoch, who was already awake and moving, and the vassals of Nobilis and Aratus gathered in the conference room.

Agatha placed the permit she had received from the Emperor on the table.

“His Majesty readily granted his permission.”

“Wow! This will shorten the travel distance a lot.”

“As expected, you are my lady.”

Even though it's just going, where is this?

To be honest, there was no need to rush once the Territory War was over, so there was no reason to cross the Imperial Territory.

The vassals quickly discussed the second plan, the route of advance and supply route across the imperial territory, and the joining of the army.

“You don’t have to take a detour since you have a pass.”

“Then how about we start by hitting the Jennings family?”

“It’s not bad in terms of travel distance either.”

“It’s also a good idea to first reduce the enemy’s troops.”

Because they had been at war for so long, everyone was quick to calculate how to deal with the five families.

The opposing side would not have expected that they would appear across the imperial territory, so a surprise attack was possible.

Or, they could appear from a completely different direction from the capital and devour the troops.

“To maximize the effect, it would be good to hit multiple places at the same time.”

“You are right, my lord.”

Are the attacks coming simultaneously or in groups?

There they will find out whether there will be a grand battle or individual defeats.

The meeting was drawing to a close.

“I guess we can decide the rest as we go.”

Enoch declared in a place where all the vassals of the two families were gathered.

“Tomorrow morning. I’m leaving.”

It was the second advance towards the Nobilis territory.

Preparing for the territory battle that you have prepared once before shortly means that you can prepare more perfectly.

“This time we won’t be passing through Roan, so we won’t have to carry a lot of supplies and move around.”

“Surprisingly, rivers are common.”

“I guess I just have to keep running, so I guess I’ll just have to pack more horse food.”

But even if more perfect preparation is possible, that doesn't mean that the clouds of war won't gather.

Some of the vassals who had gone to the battlefield and the knights, including Aratus' vassals, were feeling excitement, tension, and a sense of victory about the battlefield.

Late at night.

After preparing supplies, identifying supply routes, and conducting on-site inspections, Agatha headed to the capital city of Aratus Mansion.

“Are you here, Ma’am?”

Ben, the chief butler of the capital city Aratus Mansion, was there to greet them.

“Marquis?"

“He is in the room.”

He's probably preparing to go on a mission.

Agatha walked familiarly down the hallway to Enoch's room. She knocked on the door of the most beautiful and delicately carved room in the central hallway on the third floor.

Knock.

“Who are you?”

“It’s me, Enoch. May I come in?”

The man who opened the door looked down at her with a slightly embarrassed expression.

“What brings you here?”

He was wearing a light shirt and trousers.

“I want to help you prepare for the battle. Of course, I have prepared all the supplies perfectly.”

“...Come in.”

Fortunately, Agatha was not late and came inside. Inside the room, there was armor, coats, boots, etc.

Agatha, along with her butler and Ben, helped Enoch put on his armor, imprinting his appearance on her eyes.

It's war again.

This was already the second time since their marriage that he had stood up for her.

It seemed like she was forcing a man who had been on the battlefield his whole life to keep getting bloodied.

“You came back not long ago and now you're out again.”

Enoch, who had been hesitating, pulled on his partial armor and opened his mouth.

“It is quite possible that this could happen since the seat of the head of the household has been vacant for a long time.”

But the word "sorry" lingered in Agatha's mouth.

Agatha said something else instead.

“Can I see you off again this time?”

“You are most welcome to the training ground, Agatha.”

He smiled and lowered his body slightly towards Agatha.

Agatha wrapped a cloak and a coat around the man who had come up close to her.

A cold chill came from the iron armor.

Finally, Agatha, who was holding his cloak with a brooch engraved with the Aratus family crest, looked up at Enoch.

Beneath the gray eyes that she loved, she could see the familiar swordsmanship, the graceful nose, and the red lips, one after another.

It was a face she hadn't seen for a while.

As he scanned them one by one as if engraving them in her eyes, Enoch's eyes, which caught Agatha's gaze, softened.

“How about we stay together in the Nobilis Territory after the Territory War is over?”

It was an unexpected suggestion. Agatha had never stayed in the manor except during her childhood when her parents were still alive.

Before marriage, she lived in palaces and mansions in the capital, and when she got married, things were not much different.

She always spent her time in the safest capital, ready for attack.

Agatha's eyes shook slightly in anticipation.
