7MIP - Chapter 19

Agatha was slowly growing tired of the shameful behavior of her second husband, who was obsessed with women.

Then one day, an incident occurred that she could not ignore.

'Who is that?'

A boy with pure white silver hair and dull purple eyes was standing in the center of the palace hall.

She asked in shock, but the truth was that there was no need to.

The child with similar hair and eye color to Fernand was undoubtedly his illegitimate son.

'Your Highness, I am not of a status that Your Highness should be concerned about.'

'His Highness the Crown Prince will take care of everything.'

'So that's something Fernand needs to deal with.'

It was obvious that this was something a man who had nothing to do other than lying around with women cared about. Agatha stopped her desperate attempt to defend Fernand.

'It was done.'

She went back to her room and began writing a letter to his godfather, King Warmilai II.

The letter had just been completed when Fernand came in.

'Agatha, my little wife.'

He must have just gotten out of bed, as he had messy hair and was only wearing a shirt.

The strong scent of the woman's perfume that had been with him wafted through her nose. Agatha, who smelled the strong perfume, did not hide her discomfort.

'You said you saw that guy Adan?'

Fernand chuckled and pressed his butt against Agatha's desk.

'I forgot to tell you not to let it get to your eyes. But Agatha, I'm a victim too.'

Then he started spouting nonsense that couldn't even be excused.

'That cute thing tricked me and gave birth to a child. I was so shocked!'

He pretended to cry, saying he was also a victim. It was the most shameless nonsense Agatha had ever heard.

'You were surprised.'

'I told you it really happened?'

Fernand took Agatha's hand and placed it on his chest with a grinning face.

'Can't you feel the thumping sound of surprise?'

Contrary to what he said, his heart was calm, and the body heat that touched her palm only made Agatha angry.

No matter how much she needs the right to succeed in the Mainukor Empire, she cannot live with people like this for the rest of her life.

So Agatha added the last sentence to her letter to the emperor.

"I must divorce you, Your Highness."

A few months later, Agatha returned to the Roxbard Empire. It was her second divorce.

After escaping from a past she didn't want to think about, Agatha held back her discomfort and raised her head.

The wedding reception isn't over yet. She had to finish her schedule with a smile, at least here.

While Agatha was dancing with Anthony, Enoch was chatting with other nobles.

Most of them were people who exercised great influence in the court.

The biggest magnate was Count Thear, who owned the largest granary area in the empire.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that half of the food consumed in the empire's largest castle and capital came from the hands of Count Thear.

As grain from Count Thear was brought into the palace, the Emperor's trust in him was also strong.

As soon as Agatha saw Count Thear holding Enoch's hand and shaking it, she took a step forward.

“Enoch, have you been waiting long?”

When the main character of the reception appeared after dancing with the Crown Prince, the expressions of the central nobles, including Count Thear, changed.

Aratus, which was currently recovering its status as a prestigious family, was also a good subject of exchange, but it was nothing compared to Nobilis.

It's already been three months since her sixth divorce.

The Nobilis family, which exerted enormous influence at court, was the subject of keen attention and friendship from the central nobility.

“No, Ma’am.”

Enoch naturally put his arm around Agatha's and led her into the conversation.

“It is said that Count Thear has succeeded in cultivating a new crop.”

“Oh my, is that so?”

The Count quickly intervened.

“If you check, you will see that the wedding gift I gave you this time was the crop that I had successfully grown, Marquis.”

As Agatha looked at the Count, he began to brag openly about the merits of the new crop.

“We successfully imported and improved wheat that was native to the southern region.”

After talking for a while about how the grains are much larger and sweeter than regular wheat, he opened his mouth with a meaningful expression on his face.

“I would like to give you the first harvest to congratulate you on your marriage. And if we hear better news through this grain, wouldn’t that also be good for both sides?”

Agatha realized that Count Thear was trying to use the new crop as an excuse to be kind to Aratus and, by extension, to Nobilis.

There was no way that the amount of grain harvested in the empire's greatest granary would be small.

They must have come here after hearing that they have recently been purchasing a huge amount of wheat from Nobilis Upper and supplying it to the existing and new Aratus territories.

“I heard you’re very interested in wheat these days. Would you please invite me to your mansion sometime, Marquis?”

For her husband, who needed a steady supply of wheat for the time being, Count Thear, who had the best granary in the empire, was not a bad match.

'Well, he's the one who was asked the question. If you like it, you'll nod your head.'

As expected, the man, who understood the hidden meaning behind it, nodded slowly.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what it tastes like. I will accept your gift well, Count Thear.”

She has to review the contract when she gets back.

Following the Count of Thélear, the one who came out in a friendly manner was the Count of Molpinier, the Minister of Finance.

“You two look great together.”

He seemed very satisfied with the marriage of Enoch, who had secured territory for a new trade route, and Agatha, who would gain the upper hand in negotiations with the Mainukor Empire.

Given the nature of the Ministry of Finance, whose power grows as tax revenues increase, the Minister of Finance enthusiastically blessed the marriage of the two.

“I have never seen a more beautiful wedding in a long time.”

The nobles who had been watching for an opportunity to get involved began to gather little by little as the Molpinier, who had served as finance ministers for generations, appeared.

“I think so too. Indeed, Lady Nobilis, no, now you are the Marchioness of Aratus. Indeed, you are the Marchioness of Aratus.”

Agatha stood leaning on Enoch's arm and listened to the blatant flattery pouring out.

“Madam Agatha, would you mind giving us some time?”

After several rounds of back and forth, it was Agatha's closest associates who approached.

Agatha first greeted Marchioness Iris Domunia, who was at the forefront of them all.

“Thank you for coming to our wedding, Lady Iris.”

“You look beautiful today, Lady Agatha. Congratulations on your wedding, Marquis.”

After Lady Iris's greeting, Princess Kate Eveline spoke.

“Congratulations on your wedding. It may not sound like much, but today’s wedding was truly wonderful.”

“Ho ho ho. Wouldn’t everything be changed starting next week, starting with the decoration of the salon?”

Another close aide, Countess Celia Cameron, chimed in to praise the wedding.

“It was a hastily prepared wedding, so I’m glad you praised it so much.”

“I didn’t feel that way at all. I was really impressed by the wedding arch.”

“I really liked the crystals I put on display outside. I want to decorate my garden like that too.”

After that, thoughts were exchanged about how beautiful the wedding hall was, how wonderful today's wedding was, and how well the bride and groom matched each other.

Agatha praised Enoch appropriately and made her associates remember him as her seventh husband.

“The Marquis helped me a lot. He brought the vassals of the Aratus family to the mansion and helped me with the work himself.”

Another close associate, Princess Vanessa Beatriz, who heard the anecdote about the cooperative Enoch, her eyes sparkled.

“Oh, Marquis Aratus is a very meticulous person.”

“I remember when I was preparing for my wedding. My mother and I were so out of it.”

“I heard you’re going far away for your honeymoon?”

“That’s right. While I’m at it, I’m thinking of checking up on the progress of the construction on the fiefdom. It’s going to be a center of trade, so I think it needs some attention.”

The expressions of the nobles surrounding them, as well as her entourage, changed completely. Negotiations have not yet begun, but the fact that it was mentioned was a signal that if you want to get involved in this situation from now on, you should quickly prepare the conditions.

“Ah, ah, that’s right. By the way, do you receive any investment when renovating the island?”

“It seems like a lot of money will be needed for the city expansion and port maintenance. There will definitely be a lot of nobles with one hand, my lady.”

"Well. I plan to focus on internal affairs for now. I think my husband will take care of the outside work.”

At that moment, all nobles' eyes turned to Enoch. Enoch, who was looking down at Agatha as he stood next to her, hugged her a little closer and opened his mouth.

“It’s not something I can decide without seeing the scene. I’ll think about it after I return from my honeymoon.”

“Oh, that, that’s right. Have a nice trip.”

“I hope you had a fun time.”

The reception ended after a few more hours of entertaining more active guests.
