7MIP - Chapter 20

Agatha, riding in a carriage with Enoch heading to the capital Aratus Mansion, lay down on the sofa.

“Are you tired?”

“I think you was more tired than me.”

Enoch knelt down in front of Agatha, who was exhausted, and took off her shoes.

"Enoch?"

“This is how I relieved my fatigue on the battlefield.”

She could feel Enoch's large, firm hands through the thin stockings.

“How are you?”

When a thick finger pressed a certain part of the center of the sole, the muscles relaxed and electricity flowed. Everywhere he moved his fingers, those feelings arose.

Agatha kept her mouth shut and just left her feet to him.

She feels like she's going to make a weird sound if she opens her mouth.

The hand that had passed the foot now rose to the calf. Agatha could no longer bear it and placed a hand on Enoch's shoulder.

“It’s okay now.”

“Your calves were also very tight.”

“Still.”

Enoch, who was looking at his wife's red face, obediently let go. The man's eyes remained on her still-swollen feet as he picked up her shoes.

"Enoch?"

“...”

She whispered softly as he put the shoes back on her little, wiggling feet.

“Are you having any difficulties with external work these days?”

"Yes? No. There is no such thing.”

Agatha, wondering why she suddenly said this, remembered the existence of Fernand, whom she had forgotten.

Her ex-husband was said to be representing the unofficial delegation from Mainukor this time.

At that moment, Agatha slightly stiffened her body. The man, who had been looking up at her for a moment, sat up and casually added,

“I know you didn’t mean that, but I felt like you were sincere when you said you wanted to leave external affairs entirely to me for the time being.”

“...”

“If not, that would be fine too. If you need help, just let me know, Agatha.”

Seeing the man slowly turning his gaze to the window, Agatha pursed her lips for a moment.

“I think I’m okay for now. Thank you for your concern.”

He was a man with a very good sense. Should she say that he had a good understanding of her in that short time? No, was he watching her closely?

'I didn't think it was obvious.'

Establishing someone's authority and delaying an answer appropriately was one of the common speech methods used in social circles.

Everyone must have thought she was making excuses about her husband and delaying her answer.

'It must have been that shocking that Fernand showed up...'

Considering how strangely it reminded her of her second marriage, it seemed right.

It's still like this now, so she doesn't know if it will be okay if they meet during negotiations.

While Agatha was lost in thought, the carriage was running diligently and entering the capital city Aratus Mansion.

“Welcome, Master, Madam. Welcome to Aratus Mansion.”

In front of the main residence, the head butler, Ben, was leading the employees to meet them. Agatha, who got off the carriage with Enoch's escort, lightly nodded to him.

“I’m glad you welcomed me. Please take good care of me, even if it’s only for one night, Ben.”

“I will do my best, Ma’am.”

The reason Agatha came to the capital Aratus Mansion today was because the repairs to the capital Nobilis Second Mansion, which was to be used as a newlywed residence, were not yet completed.

It was her first visit to her husband's mansion on her wedding night.

“This way, Ma’am.”

Agatha held Enoch's hand and entered the main house, which glowed in an old-fashioned way even in the dark.

Like other mansions of prestigious families that have been passed down through generations, Aratus also has high ceilings and a spacious hall.

Perhaps because it had been recently renovated, the interior felt old-fashioned yet new, but Agatha followed Enoch around the mansion without letting on.

Tapestry woven with the family crest, an eagle pattern, sword decorations, iron armor, etc.

His personality was evident in the minimally decorated hallway.

The place where Enoch stopped was a room with the most beautiful and delicately engraved door in the central hallway that runs through the third floor.

“The place you will stay today is my room.”

Huh?

“Come in.”

Naturally, Agatha, who had thought she would be staying in the former Marchioness's room, stepped into the open door with him with a puzzled look on her face.

The embarrassment lasted only for a moment.

Agatha's cheeks heated slightly as she entered the inner room.

It was like this man’s room. The clean white interior was lined with essential furniture, including a thin tapestry, a wooden table, and a leather sofa.

The only thing that's a little unusual is the liquor cabinet placed on one side.

“Would you like to wash first?”

Agatha nodded reflexively. He ordered, undoing the shirt collar and chain that had been choking his neck.

“Let me guide Madam to a closer place.”

"All right."

Agatha was guided to the bathroom by the butler, Ben, who had been waiting.

The mansion, brightly lit by the reflections of lanterns and jewels, was empty and without any decorations, but the sculptures alone gave it a rather antique and cozy charm.

“The mansion is pretty.”

“It’s all thanks to your care in advance.”

"Me?"

“Before you got married, didn’t you know about my Master’s difficulties and send him gold?”

Ah.

Agatha was able to understand once again why Aratus's butler had been so polite and courteous from the first time they met.

The butler's heart touched that he quickly prepared to pay for his life to help Enoch.

“But there is a difference between having a mistress and having a butler take care of it. Now, this is your mansion, so please come here often and take care of it. I will do my best to assist you.”

The butler, Ben, arrived in front of the bathroom, bowed deeply, and opened the door.

“Okay. Please take care of me from now on, Ben.”

Agatha responded kindly and entered the bathing room with the guidance of the maid.

The family's private bathroom had a tasteful wooden floor.

There was a bathtub full of hot water right under the window.

On one side, there were various items including perfume and a shelter. The maid spoke while taking off the clothes that had quickly become damp from the warm steam.

“Madam, shall we open the window?”

"Yes."

A warm breeze blew in from outside, where the sun had almost set.

As she soaked in a bathtub filled with flower petals and scented sachets, a new maid presented her with a tray.

“The master ordered it to be put up.”

While she was getting a massage, she checked out the tray. It was filled with thinly sliced grilled beef, cheese, and bite-sized pieces of fruit, all served with cold white wine.

Agatha looked out the window and tasted some light food.

Small, soft foods. A body soaked in warm water and a glass of cool white wine.

The only thing that was disappointing here was the scenery. There was a garden right below the bathroom, but all she could see were green trees.

There's nothing.

This may be the shortcoming that the butler mentioned. Aratus Mansion had been neglected for 10 years, and the butler had limitations in taking care of the mansion.

“It would have been nicer if the garden had been beautiful.”

“I’m sorry, Ma’am. I said I would try...”

“I’m not blaming you. This is the role of a hostess. But I feel good.”

Agatha enjoyed her bath and left the bathroom. As she ate and enjoyed the food, her fatigue was already gone.

The maids who were close to Nobilis came in naturally and served together.

“Which do you like, Ma’am?”

“Um, with that one.”

After much deliberation, she chose a thin slip with a hint of lace. She wore a long gown over it and followed the maid who was leading the way, so she naturally felt nervous.

Today was the first night. Moreover, the place she was heading to now was his bedroom, which she had never been to before.

Agatha passed the inner room door guarded by knights and stood in front of the bedroom.

Knock knock, the maid knocked on the door instead.

“Master, the lady has arrived.”

“Take it.”

A heavy bass sound flowed in from beyond the door.

“We will now take our leave, Madam.”

"Yes."

The door closed behind her.

Once inside, Agatha quietly looked around the bedroom. It was a room with an appropriate mix of black, gray, blue, and white.

A quaint yet quiet bedroom with a hint of a sweet scent.

There, Enoch, who had finished his bath one step ahead of her, was sitting against the table, wearing the same robe as her.

When he saw Agatha, he held out his hand without saying a word.

“Have you been waiting long?”

"Very."

The soft carpet brushed under her thin slippers.

As she stood in front of him, holding his hand, his thick, muscular arms wrapped around Agatha's waist.

Agatha, who was sitting on Enoch's thigh, instinctively grabbed his robe.

“I didn’t have to wait that long.”

The man who had kissed her cheek lifted Agatha's thigh.

“Did the snack I sent you like it?”

"...It was delicious."

“Thank goodness.”

The man with a small smile walked straight to the bed. The curtains were fluttering under the bright moonlight.

She never imagined he would be this proactive.

Agatha let out a trembling breath and buried her blushing face on his shoulder.

Soon the curtain was drawn back.
