TPITT - Chapter 49

For the royal family to keep each other in check or have emotional battles

Harassing direct knights as agents was a daily occurrence in the imperial palace.

It was a low-level feud, but the royal family actually turned it into a fight.

Michael thought it was a gentlemanly and dignified sport.

Rather than directly causing friction with members of the same royal family, indirectly to the knight under his direct control.

The logic was that inflicting damage would be more peaceful.

When Michael was also in the training center, he heard more than three figures of related stories.

Thanks to his wealth of indirect experience, Michael felt his head become calmer even in the face of a crisis.

‘This might be better. If I were the target, nothing bad would happen to the Princess who went to regular tea time.'

The windbreak forest, thick with zelkova and hackberry trees, was truly reminiscent of a natural forest.

Stronger than the pillars of the main palace hall, the beautiful trees that were visible were forming a roof with their leaves and branches, tightly blocking the sky.

'In a place like this, it would be difficult for the surveillance golem to function properly.'

Michael suddenly felt something strange.

The surroundings were so quiet.

The battle noise coming from the Coloso Arena stopped at some point.

There wasn't even a sound of a bird that is commonly heard

'It's a barrier.'

The types were expected to be access restriction barriers and soundproof barriers.

Finally, Michael was able to find a human shadow among the bushes.

He saw a blonde Princess with six thick curls of hair and a Prince with curly hair who looked very similar to her.

It was the 6th Princess Stefania and her half-brother, the 6th Prince Derek.

There was also one female and one male homunculus nearby.

They were knights directly brought by the royal siblings.

“Aww, it’s annoying. Anyway, why does Betty always make me do this?”

“Calm down, sister. Betty is going to become the Crown Princess in the future, so she should look good.”

Stefania and Derek's conversation gave Michael information about the background.

‘The 3rd Princess... It seems she has a grudge against my Princess because of the last slum relocation policy.'

Before they knew it, Michael was standing in front of Stefania and Derek.

“I brought him here as ordered. Her Highness the Princess, Her Highness the Prince.”

“Oh, good job. Just go.”

The Homunculus pushed Michael in and left.

Stephania tilted her head crookedly and looked at Michael from top to bottom.

Stephania and Derek, who were appreciating Michael to their heart's content, each snorted and jeered.

“Huh, this is Michaelis Agnito?”

“Hey, it looks like Eve's face is brightening up quite a bit, isn’t it?”

Michael politely behaved like a knight.

The floor was covered with sharp pebbles, but the posture of kneeling on one knee was flawless.

“I meet Your Highness the 6th Princess and His Highness the 6th Prince. I'm called Michaelis Agnito.”

"Uh. Stay where you are. Don’t get up.”

Crack!

Derek hit Michael on the shoulder twice with his right hand.

It seemed like an encouraging gesture, but in reality, it was an action of pressing down so that one's weight could be placed on Michael.

Michael's face was against the gravel and his left knee was pressed deeply.

Sharp pebbles dug into his knees with only a piece of cloth between them.

Michael did not even lift an eyebrow despite the pain.

“Tch.”

Derek clicked his tongue as if it was not funny.

Then he looked back and said with an arrogant gesture.

“Hey, you guys press it.”

Those who received the order were Stefania and Derek, the two direct knights accompanying them.

“I will do as you command, Your Highness.”

“I understand, Your Royal Highness.”

A male knight with a sturdy, wheat-colored body, but with a gentle appearance, giving the impression of a large dog.

And a black-haired female knight with bloodless white skin answered.

They are Ritver Berman, a knight under Stefania's direct command, and a barrier demon and a knight under Derek's direct command, respectively.

She was Snorret Wint, a master of the law.

Snorret and Ritver stood on either side and placed one hand each on Michael's shoulder.

Snorret spoke softly before applying force.

“It would be better for you to get down on both knees, Michaelis agnito.”

“Only the Emperor and my master can order me to behave like a slave.”

“... I get it."

Immediately, Michael's shoulder was crushed mercilessly.

The strength of the homunculus was nothing compared to that of the Prince, who had grown up in the imperial palace.

Michael's left knee quickly began to turn bloody.

The same was true of his right hand, which was placed on the floor with a clenched fist.

Stefania approached Michael, shaking her hair in a bun.

Coral lips sneered.

“Hmm, you’re saying you can’t kneel on both knees in front of other royal family members? This is such a loyal dog.”

Michael didn't react.

Then Stefania lifted Michael's chin in a derogatory manner with the tip of her fan.

“Do you know why I called you?”

“...I do not know."

“I heard that Eve is having a hard time training the knights under her direct command.”

There was a rumor going around?

He needs to be able to stay still.

“I had no choice but to become the representative of the Princess sisters.”

“If there is anything I am lacking in serving Her Highness the 7th Princess, please tell me. I will correct it right away.”

"Yes?"

Stefania's sinister smile deepened.

“Lord Michaelis Agnito.”

“Yes, Her Highness the 6th Princess.”

“It’s been almost a month since you became the direct knight of our lovely sister, Eve, right?”

"Yes, that's right."

“But I heard Eve sent you back to your dorm without missing a night? Aren’t yiu not properly practicing our duty of ‘service’, the largest duty of a direct knight?”

He expected to catch a raw fish house.

But he never thought it would be like this.

He couldn't imagine it.

'Ha.'

Insulted Michael felt the left side of his chest rapidly becoming cold.

“Why is there no answer? Don't you understand? I asked if you couldn’t satisfy Eve.”

“...Her Highness the 7th Princess does not ask me to serve her like that.”

Michael can resist even if he knows it is not a good response in this situation.

There was no outside.

Stefania and Derek, who had an excuse, were excited.

“Oh my, that’s strange. Are you asking for it? Isn’t it a duty that a homunculus must take care of?”

"Yes! That’s what you guys have to work hardest at.”

Stefania said, tapping her palm with a fan.

“I heard that you were sent back very early on the day it was engraved. It's not like you haven't even been 'inspected' yet, I guess?”

"..."

"What? Why is there no answer? Is it really true? Oh my God! Inspection is a natural procedure that should be done if a direct knight is hired!”

Stefania made an exaggerated fuss about the nightly service as if it were the first night of a wedding.

Derek added, pretending to calm his sister down.

“Oh, no way. Speaking of our Hadelamide Imperial Family, we have energy. Isn’t this a lineage known to be enemies? If Eve inherited the blood of the supreme Father, then that wouldn’t be possible.”

“I see. You're right, Derek. Skipping the inspection... As a bloodline of Abamama, this is impossible! Or she is one just being completely ignorant of imperial traditions!”

The royal siblings acted as if they were determined to frame Eve.

Even if Michael tells them, ‘I didn’t take the physical service test,’ it will only backfire.

It was self-explanatory.

Michael chose silence.

“Look at this. Lord Agnito doesn't say anything either. Seeing as you’re not denying it, I guess you were inspected.”

“So, doesn’t that mean that you killed it during the day? Maybe it’s because you ended too quickly and you’re not satisfied?”

“Oh, that makes sense. I think that’s the right answer?”

"Oh my God. This kind of homunculus enters the palace after receiving a superior grade. Does that make sense? I need to tell them to immediately strengthen the middle school martial arts education at the training center.”

Stefania turned to Michael and asked as if interrogating him.

“Do you have something to say, Lord Agnito?”

"No."

“So you’re admitting that you’re useless?”

“...As a knight, I will give my all to assist Her Highness the 7th Princess.”

"Ha! How are you pretending to be a noble knight? Homunculus!”

Derek chimed in, pointing.

It was an insult that even denied his identity as a knight.
