HFMD Chapter 3 < On The Bed? >

Randall's eyes widened in embarrassment at Sylvia's deep kiss, not the playful kiss he had given.

Something soft and warm brushed his lips once, then burrowed inside. When he flinched in surprise, she stroked and wrapped him as if to soothe him. However, just before he came to his senses and grabbed Sylvia's shoulder, Sylvia took a step behind and parted his lips with hers, as if asking when he had approached her.

'This should be enough.'

Sylvia thought indifferently. Now that she knew that God's eyes were always on her, she felt the need to be a little more careful. She needs to show that she gets along with her husband as much as possible so that it looks like she doesn't have any thoughts of death. Her kiss earlier also had that meaning. Since Randall was about to leave her after a touch that she could hardly even call a kiss, she just tried to appear as faithfully as possible at this wedding.

“...!”

However, Randall, who did not know her true intentions, only pursed his lips as if he were greatly embarrassed. The hall rang loudly with applause from guests who had not noticed the subtle movements between them because the bouquets were covering them. Sylvia smiled softly through the fluttering flower petals, signaling the end of the wedding.

“Then please take care of me in the future.”

At those words, the back of Randall's neck suddenly heated up.

After the wedding, the reception continued smoothly. People gathered around the banquet hall and talked non-stop about what happened that day. The topic that made up the largest proportion of the topics was definitely the beauty of Sylvia Florette.

“Oh my God, is this really a person?”

“At that level, I think I’d believe she’s a succubus (*a type of demon that seduces humans).”

“The people who have been talking about Lady Florette having problems will not be able to show their faces at the party for a while.”

“It’s a good thing to be self-employed.”

People glanced at Randall and Sylvia, who had changed into light clothes and were dancing in the center of the banquet hall. The two were such a perfect pair that you could even believe they were decorative dolls placed on top of a cake. Not to mention Sylvia, standing under the chandelier light, Randall was also a handsome man with a rare aura in the capital.

The male nobles in the capital were generally close to the image of handsome, well-bred masters. However, Randall was a handsome man with a strong body, tanned skin, and a strong wild scent that had accumulated time spent on the battlefield. In addition, he has hair that is a subtle mixture of gold and brown, and light green eyes that somehow attract people's attention.

Even now, several noble ladies and ladies were peeking at Randall's forearm through the fan, making them blush. Although the two were such a picturesque pair, they were each immersed in different thoughts.

'It would be better to hurry up and go to pay the first night  .'

Sylvia, who was slowly running out of stamina, blinked her eyes without thinking that Randall would be horrified if he found out. Soon the reception will end. Then, it takes about an hour to travel to the vicinity of the duchy by using the moving magic circle opened by the castle wizards, and then take the carriage again to enter the duchy.

'Let's hold on just a little longer.'

The patience she has honed over the past 99 reincarnations is here to be used. She didn't waste her age. Sylvia moved her feet, repeating that thought. Left, right, left again.

‘Who is this person...?'

Meanwhile, Randall looked at Sylvia discreetly and made a serious face.

Then, please take care of me in the future.

At the time of the kiss, he was so frozen by the sudden situation that he didn't have time to think about anything else, but it was different now.

The reception lasted a few hours after the wedding. Here, Randall had enough time to observe Sylvia. After a long period of observation, his conclusion was ‘This is strange.’

'Are you really 22 years old?'

A noble lady who has never left the Florette mansion for the past 22 years. However, the attitude Sylvia displayed throughout the reception was one that one would have believed even if she were a noblewoman who had spent her entire life in society.

Her gaze, her tone of voice, her voice, even every little action. In all of that, he felt the weight of time that could never be hidden. Randall wondered for a moment whether he could ask her about it.

‘Anyway, how should I call you...'

“Sylvia.”

"Hmm? Just call me by my name. You look like you’re worried.”

"That...”

“If you don’t feel like it, ma’am, honey, wife. I think you can choose whichever one is more convenient for you.”

Sylvia calmly, at first glance, spun around, calling out names in a dry manner. In contrast, her face was mesmerized as Randall spun her around in the way she was accustomed to.

'...Just what?'

I'm sure you read everything right?

'Am I not the type to write my words on my face?'

It gives the impression that people say it's scary if you stay still. Additionally, she felt like she was being called a lot of names, but she thought it was just her mood. Randall was confused by the series of attacks, but from Sylvia's point of view, her parents simply brought up the names they called each other every day. Anyway, they were a couple now. She thought that title would be more natural. Of course, Randall did not know this.

He looked distraught for a while, then sighed.

“...Please call me Randall. It's okay to speak comfortably. I don’t have a hobby of treating people alone.”

At those words, Sylvia's eyes widened this time. Although he seemed like a good person, he was much more upright in even the smallest details than she thought. It was difficult to find such a healthy person even in her past 99 lives.

“You are a good person.”

“...Well."

No matter how much it was his duty as a lord, he did not feel like a very good person to keep a watchful eye on his wife. Randall swallowed a bitter laugh. Whether Sylvia was the King's spy or not, she was now his wife anyway. Therefore, he should at least fulfill his responsibilities to the extent that he does not go against the duties of being ‘her husband.’

'I wonder if Sylvia has really never left the mansion... It would be better to say hello to the Count and ask him.'

Meanwhile, the thought of asking Sylvia about the foods she likes and dislikes naturally followed. It was unconscious. At that time, the song ended with good timing. The royal maids who had been waiting on one side of her came to Sylvia's side and bent her waist.

“Now you need to get ready. We have arranged for you to depart immediately after your return.”

Sylvia looked back at Randall at those words. Randall nodded and let go of her hand.

“Please come back.”

“Yes, I’ll see you later.”

Sylvia smiled slightly and disappeared with the maids to change into comfortable clothes for movement. Randall glanced around at him among his subordinates who were slowly gathering around him. Eventually, he noticed Count and Countess Florette, whose eyes were red, and took a step forward.

“Count Florette.”

“Oh, Duke Belfort.”

When the Countess saw Randel approaching them, she secretly patted him on the back. The Count, who quickly wiped away his tears instead of sobbing, calmed his expression. As soon as Randall reached them, he first bowed deeply.

“I will do my best for your daughter, even if it is not enough. So, if you see any shortcomings, please scold me without adding or subtracting.”

Count Florette and his wife opened their eyes wide at those words. No matter how much they were called his father-in-law and mother-in-law, there was no need for Randall, who was second only to the royal family, to show such a polite attitude. But he humbled himself out of courtesy to Sylvia and her parents.

The Count and his wife, who had always been worried about their daughter, felt their anxious hearts calm down a little. The Count cleared his throat and spoke with full sincerity.

“Please take care of our daughter.”

“Don’t worry. But before I leave, I have a few questions.”

“What do you mean?”

“Is it true that your daughter really stayed in the mansion for twenty-two years?”

"Yes?"

The Count's eyes widened as if he had heard something unexpected. And then his face became serious.

“Lord Belfort.”

“Please speak.”

“I know this may sound strange, but please listen anyway.”

“What do you mean...”

Randall became more serious at the same time. Does Sylvia have a hidden chronic illness? However, in the words that followed, he was at a rare loss of words.

“My daughter... In fact, she is rarely out of bed, let alone out of the mansion.”

“...?”

Invisible question marks appeared above Randall's head.

***

Because she is a very helpless child by nature...

Sometimes she stays asleep for more than a day, so don't be too surprised. Because she's not dead, she's just asleep.

Once, we were so surprised when she didn't move for three days, hoho!

In the end, Randall had to leave with more questions than before he started talking with the Count and his wife. All he found out was that Sylvia had lived a much more miserable life than he thought. Also, she rarely put anything in her mouth, and he didn't really know what she liked or disliked about food.

'She's almost never been under the bed....'

Since she's been doing only the bare minimum of breathing exercises, she's ended up with a body without any muscles.

Randall shook his head and resolved to go north and take the dog for a short walk at least once a day. He thought that if Sylvia had found out, she would have been horrified.

Randall and his party came down to the front gate with Count Florette and his wife. Then, the three Royal Wizards, the King, and Sylvia, who were preparing a moving magic circle, greeted them.

“Are you here?”

“Sigh.”

“You’re crying again.”

Sylvia comforted the Count, who burst into tears again as soon as he saw her. The King, who was happily looking at the scene, lightly tapped Randall on the shoulder.

“Live well.”

"Thank you."

Randall lowered his head, his voice becoming horribly callous, unlike when he was dealing with Sylvia and the Countess. The King also said this as a goodbye, so he just nodded his head and stepped back.

“Shall we go... Ma'am."

After hesitating, Randall hinted at one of the titles that Sylvia had recommended. Sylvia, noticing that brief hesitation, unconsciously felt a new smile leak from her lips.

'Cute.'

It was such a trivial thing that she could have forgotten, but he remembered it and listened to it. The more she looked at him, the more she saw him as a truly upright and genuine young man. So she felt a little sorry. She was wondering how she could fool God and die. But her guilt was short-lived.

'...Well, for a person like that, even after death, there will be a lot of talk about getting married.'

For Sylvia, the fatigue she felt was greater than the regret she felt toward the man she met for the first time today. No matter what anyone said, Randall was the best groom of the Elvares Kingdom. She doesn't know how long it will be before she succeeds in her accidental death, but Randall will at least live much longer than her.

An honorable title: Master of the North and Shield of the Kingdom. The status of a Duke. On top of that, he has a great appearance and personality. It was clear that the loss of his wife would not even be a blemish on that perfect man. Therefore, she will end her last life as quickly as possible and remain unchanged.

After greeting the Count and Countess, Sylvia boarded the carriage, and Randall mounted his horse with his attendants who had accompanied him to the capital. A huge magic circle billowed in the air beyond the front door. Randall grabbed the reins and raised his voice.

“Everyone, let’s go!”

Starting from his voice, the horses kicked the ground. The moment she passed through the brightly shining magic circle, Sylvia closed her eyes once and opened them as she felt as if her entire body was being pulled up into the air and then coming down.

In the blink of an eye, the vision and air were changed.
