100CIM - Chapter 34

Quad Deuk! Kkjjik!

As the tightly closed door was broken, the screams of the occupants in shock echoed throughout the hallway.

In a dark room, blood pooled like a river, a terrible smell, and animal corpses piled up like a mountain. In the middle of it, something was tied to a stake.

“What the hell is this...”

When everyone froze and forgot what to say at the miserable sight in the room, someone's painful groan was heard from the deepest part of the room.

“Ugh... Ugh...”

Louis reflexively ran into the room.

It was Simone's voice.

"Light! Light up here!”

Illestone was able to come to his senses only after hearing Louis's shout.

“Kelle!”

“Yes, yes?”

When Kelle hesitated to enter while holding the candlestick, Illeston snatched it and hurried towards them.

Only after turning on the light did the Grand Duchess and Simone appear. Louis and Illestone swallowed the screams that could not escape.

Simone is trapped between the wall and Florier with her head down. Her body trembled like an aspen tree.

Louis' gaze naturally turned downward.

Blood was dripping from her stomach, soaking her clothes and the floor.

“...Simone! Blood!”

Louis hurriedly got between Florier and Simone, and Illeston ran over and pulled Florier away from Simone.

The pain must have been so extreme that as soon as Florier fell, Simone fell to her knees.

"Damn! How could this happen!”

“Kelle! Quickly go to the village and bring a healer!”

"Yes!"

Louis checked Simone's condition.

"Ha...”

Fortunately, the blood-soaked stomach didn't seem to have been pierced. Instead, the blade of a dagger is held in Simone's hand.

It seemed that Simone was holding the sword aimed at the abdomen with her hand.

The blade was stuck in her hand and she was holding it without being able to do this or that.

"Are you okay?"

“Am I okay?”

How can you be so carefree when it hurts so much!

When Simone got angry, Louis became restless and looked outside the door.

“The healer will be here soon. First of all, the sword...”

Simone ignored Louis and glared at Florier.

The Grand Duchess's strength was so strong that Simone thought she would not be able to escape on her own, but fortunately, now that Grand Duke Illeston is holding Florier, she can say what she wants to say.

“Your Highness, Grand Duchess, we cannot lift Jace’s curse by doing something like this.”

Simone pointed at Jace. It's dark so Simone can't see it clearly, but is that a person's face?

Just by looking at the silhouette reflected in the candlelight, you could tell that it was by no means normal.

Florier didn't seem to hear Simone's words at all.

If only you die, if only the last person dies

“How do you save someone’s life with black magic?”

Simone has to say something that makes sense. It makes no more sense than saying that a necromancer saves people.

If you are full of bad breath like this, you will also develop diseases that you never knew existed.

It’s not that she doesn’t know about Florier’s situation. There is no hope anywhere, and the existence of her son is gradually being forgotten by the world. So the warlock's sweet words must have felt very sweet.

Florier wants to lean somewhere. Since her son's life is at stake, she won't be able to see anything.

As if the nerves had been cut, Simone now has no feeling beyond the pain. She doesn't even know if her hands can move properly.

Her whole body is shaking because of the wound on her hand.

Even though the wound was very deep, her head felt tight, probably because she thought she was relatively safe now.

What would happen if Florier got another hope?

What if she were to find another path for someone who was walking along a straight path while looking straight ahead?

“I will save his life. Jace definitely exists.”

Simone becomes Florier's new savior.

Simone roughly threw the dagger in her hand to the floor and rummaged through her belongings.

Louis hurriedly picked up the dagger and watched her actions.

'I made it for times like this.'

What Simone took out from her bosom was an amulet that absorbed the mana of death that she had made with her servants. Simone exhaled harshly as she walked towards Florier and slowly lifted her up.

Then, thud!

Without hesitation, she attached the amulet to Florier's forehead.

“What is this!”

It was Kelle who shouted out loud and approached her. How dare you put a paper on the face of the Grand Duchess? What a disrespectful act!

However, Grand Duke Illeston stopped him. It meant leaving Simone to do whatever she wanted.

As soon as Simone attached the amulet to Florier's head, she trembled and then fainted.

“I’ll say it again, it’s a talisman that chases away evil energy into even more evil energy.”

Simone walked to the window without hesitation, drew the curtains, and opened the window.

The light coming through the window clearly revealed everything inside the room.

Kelle froze in shock at the cruelty that was clearly visible, and then hurriedly got out. A sound of vomiting was heard from behind. It was probably the voice of someone who was watching this.

Grand Duke Illeston was also frozen and unable to move, looking around the room with trembling eyes.

Animal and human corpses were strewn about, and blood-soaked paper was floating on the blood-soaked floor, creating some kind of pattern. And in the middle of it all, there was a wooden board and a skinny mummy covered in dried blood.

Simone pointed to mummy with difficulty.

"Ha... This is Jace.”

“...”

“It’s largely the Grand Duke's fault that things have gotten to this point.”

He knows. Grand Duke Illeston also knows that it was a curse induced to bring about this inevitable ending. However, he still wondered if he would have gotten to this point if he had tried to overcome this situation a little sooner before it became really dangerous.

Today, Simone and Jace almost died.

But Simone couldn't be more angry with him.

Simone could feel her body temperature gradually dropping. Now, if she don't really treat the wound, she will die from excessive bleeding. Louis also tried to get Simone up and lead her outside, as if to tell her to stop talking.

"Ha."

Simone pushed Louis away as if it was okay, reached into her arms, took out the box, and headed back to Jace.

“You should consider it a miracle that Jace is alive.”

This scrawny man must be alive and listening to their conversation.

Seven years since he stood at the border between death and life. Nevertheless, the fact that he was still holding on and alive also meant that he had a great desire for life.

The faint sound of breathing seemed to be saying that he wanted to live.

Simone opened the box and took out the jewel.

“Let’s live.”

The blood-stained jewel in Simone's hand headed towards Jace, and at that moment, the jewel began to glow and a large white aura spread out, enveloping Jace's body.

Simone didn't think he was gross, scary, or dirty when he turned into a mummy.

It was just sad.

How difficult was it to get to this point? Who on earth made this hat like this?

Simone poured mana into the magic stone.

“Jace.”

Grand Duke Illeston stared at Jace in the sunlight. It was his first time seeing Jace properly in several years.

He felt dizzy as Jace looked like a corpse.

If he had been here any longer, Jace would have truly become a non-existent person.

'What on earth have I done...'

Meanwhile, Simone, who had been sticking to Jace for a while, took a step back.

“Please wash her and let her lie down comfortably anywhere.”

“The curse... Has it been released?”

Simone shook her head in response to Grand Duke Illeston's question.

“His memories as Jace haven’t returned.”

Right now, they just took Jace out of this room and separated him from Florier before the black magic ritual was completed.

Jace might be able to survive if he overcomes the crisis, but it's not over unless his memories return.

Simone finished speaking and looked around the room. Then she shook her head and started walking to get out of the room.

“Once the sun rises, it comes back. Don’t let anyone into this room yet, and it would be best to get the Grand Duchess and Jace out of here as soon as possible.”

Grand Duke Illeston said to Kelle.

“Move the Grand Duchess and Jace.”

“...”

“Kelle.”

“...Yes."

At the call of Grand Duke Illeston, Kelle belatedly came to his senses and moved.

“To the employees, the Grand Duchess and...”

Kelle looked at Jace. A skeletal figure covered in black blood. He could barely tell that it was a person just by its shape, but it was so emaciated that it was hard to tell whether it was a person or a corpse.

What should he call him?

However, Kelle lowered his head when he felt Grand Duke Illeston's eyes on him.

“I will wash hi. and take him to a clean room. Should I call a healer?”

Just as the Grand Duke accepted Simone as a guest because he said she was a guest, he also said Jase was his son, so Kelle only accepted him as the Master's son.

"Yes...”

Simone looked at her hands and moaned.

It really hurt.

Louis, seeing this, approached Simone and snatched the saint's desire from her hand.

Then he placed it on Simone's wounded hand.

Then the deep wound healed in an instant.

“Why can’t you think of using this on your own wounds?”

"Ah."

Simone was so out of it that she couldn't think of doing anything other than what she had planned. Simone gently squeezed the jewel with her pain-relieved hand and immediately handed it to Kelle.

“Call that healer. It’s more urgent for Jace than for me.”

Little by little, the unpleasant smell and energy were swept out the window, and at the same time, a refreshing breeze came into the room.

Now this room will no longer be a defrauding, forbidden room.

***

The next day, Simone headed to the Grand Duchess's room again.

All the animal and human corpses were removed, but everything else remained the same. A calm man's voice came from behind Simone, who was standing still and looking around the room.

“It was a time when Jace was being forgotten by people and the Grand Duchess’ heart was very weak.”

It was the Grand Duke of Illeston.

“At that time, he approached the Grand Duchess. Like you told me, he said he would lift the curse on her.”

Illeston recalled the day he first met him. He was a person whose gender was unknown because his entire body was wrapped tightly in black cloth.

He taught Florier black magic and disappeared after ten days of interaction.

Until Simone came to the mansion, the only hope for Florier was the black magic he taught her, so naturally Illeston supported Florier's wishes.

Without even knowing that this was the beginning of a nightmare.
