THYU - Chapter 26

The mansion where Violet lives is full of valuable and hard-to-find items.

Ella knew that her son-in-law was a tycoon, but she had never felt it like this. The trolley pushed by one of the maids was filled with tea leaves from all over the world, and each teacup she placed on the table was encrusted with finely cut jewels.

Ella opened her mouth.

"Your husband makes a lot of money."

"There are many types of tea because my husband imports them. If you need it, I'll take it with you when I go. I think he also imports chocolate. And again..."

As Violet pondered, Flip, who entered carrying a basket of chocolates, spoke quickly.

"He also imports horses."

"Oh, they said so. Where on earth does he import horses?...."

Violet said as if she didn't understand. Winter didn't know how to ride a horse, but he knew how to see. It was an amazing thing.

Ella looked out at the garden beyond the spacious and ornate drawing room. It was inevitable that she kept thinking about her pitiful son. She continued.

"Violet, didn't you say it yourself? Your relationship with your husband is not that good. Wouldn't your relationship get better if you two had a child?"

"Even if you say that..."

The chat started with Ella sitting down and continued until the tea cooled down. It came down to the question of whether Violet could persuade Winter even if she gave him an excuse.

While Violet was having a hard time, the sound of horses' hooves was heard outside. Violet jumped up.

"My husband is here. I'll bring you."

"Sure."

After Ella gave her permission, Violet ran away. Violet was exhausted from dealing with her mom whom she could not do anything about. So he decided to argue with Winter.

However, before she could say anything, Winter got off the carriage, walked over with a cold look on his face, and grabbed his wife's arm. He then without saying a word took off her gloves and started checking her fingers one by one.

Violet, who missed the moment to start an argument, asked, folding her fingers in an attempt to free the hand that was being held by him.

"Did you have a good time?"

"Oh, you'll know when you see it."

Winter answered half-heartedly and unfolded her folded white fingers again.

After checking both of her hands and then her face and neck, he saw that there were no injuries and looked at Violet.

Winter, who noticed the bewildered look in her eyes as she folded her hands and pulled her into his arms as she was being examined, spoke as if making excuses.

"You got trapped somewhere again, but I'm afraid you won't tell me. I have to check, is there anything I can do?"

At that time, Violet heard a voice from behind.

"What does that mean? You're trapped?"

Ella asked, belatedly deciding that even though she was a stranger, she should go out to meet her son-in-law, so she followed Violet out. Winter was about to answer right away, but Violet spoke quickly.

"It's nothing."

"So?"

Ella seemed suspicious, but she didn't think much of it because she couldn't have imagined that her daughter would be trapped somewhere and that the cause would be her good pitiful son.

Winter greeted.

"Long time no see."

"Long time no see."

Ella greeted him with her characteristic cold voice, then quickly turned around and headed back to the living room.

As she left, Violet sighed and looked at Winter.

"Please keep it a secret."

"My mother-in-law should know what kind of bastard her son is."

"Ever since the death of Father, mother has thought that my brother means the world. Anyway, the violence... She might be a bit shocked."

Winter tried to open his mouth but closed it again. At first, he thought he was being weak when he said that his wife was going to die. But the more he learned about her, the more he realized that she had no one to rely on. The more he learned, the more he realized that he was glad he found out before it was too late.

Just in case, he never knows. That's what's going on in the world.

Violet asked him, who was inwardly relieved.

"Can you change your body for a moment?"

"Why?"

"You're the one who doesn't want to have children, but I'm the one nagging you. I need you to tell me something. Besides, I'm not done with the garden work yet."

"If you do garden work, it's a noble Lady's pastime, but if you do it yourself, everyone will think you're just a gardener"

Winter grumbled like that on the outside, but whenever the topic of children came up, he felt like his blood was draining. Even so, it looked as if something had been broken and he couldn't have predicted how his wife would react when she found out.

"Anyway, I'll tell you about the child. When my mother-in-law goes, please talk to me."

"Ah .. What should I do because I'm sorry?"

"I have an appointment."

Winter stood tall in his seat. Violet continued.

"I heard there's a book club being held at the silk shop on Leon Road. I guess merchants and low-level officials are coming."

"Why do you hang out at gatherings at silk stores and such? Anyway, I'll go too."

"I'm trying to make friends in the south as well. And only those invited can enter."

"Why is it so hard to talk about something?"

Even though Winter spoke angrily, he felt that there was something wrong with her words. Violet must have felt that too, she replied, glancing at her husband.

"You originally said you would come a week ago, but you came too late, so our schedules overlapped."

"That's because I didn't go twice and solved it all at once!"

When Winter felt aggrieved, Violet looked at him as if she were looking at a stubborn child and sighed heavily.

"I'll be back early."

"Shit."

Winter also seemed irritated because he felt like he was a child, but he obediently backed away.

As if Ella had already had enough of nagging, she left the mansion shortly after. Winter dropped Ella off at the nearest hotel and returned straight home. When he returned to the mansion, Violet was just ready to leave. Flip was seen putting a parasol on Violet. Violet, wearing white lace gloves, held out her hand to Flip.

"I will carry the parasol."

"It's heavy, so I'll lift it."

"I'm sure your husband doesn't look down on my physical strength as much as you do, right?"

"Hey, you look down on me! That's absolutely not the case!"

When Flip said this in surprise, Violet smiled as if it was a joke. Flip eventually hods out a parasol, but Winter suddenly catches it in the middle. Then he looked at Flip with a crumpled expression and asked.

"Have I cut you off yet?"

"Yes. I was debating whether to retire or not, but then I think. Rather, you even left important work to me."

At Flip's words, Winter's hand holding the parasol tightened. He couldn't help it. Flip was the one who cared for Violet the most in this mansion, so he entrusted him with watching over Violet to make sure she didn't get hurt.

Violet said in surprise when Winter finally bent the middle of the parasol.

"Winter, watch your hands."

Winter clicked his tongue, threw it away, and placed one hand above Violet's head, where the sun was, blocking out the sunlight.

"Go to Leon Road and buy a new parasol."

"I'll fix that. I mean, it's something I cherished."

"You can just make ten of the same thing."

Although the parasol was broken, Violet did not feel bad. The reason why she complained so strangely, saying that she cherished it, was because his hand blocking the sunlight made her feel excited. Her heart, which had been heavy due to the story about the child, became much more at ease.

It was partly because Violet was beginning to give up more and more easily about things she couldn't have, but this moment was also truly a simple happiness for her.

Violet stopped and looked at Winter's hand, then reached out his hand and gently placed it on her m hand.

She wondered what was so funny for a while, then looked back at Winter and smiled.

"The sun is completely covered by your hand. We go around like this often."

"..."

When he saw his wife smiling so lovingly that the corners of her eyes curled, a huge bell rang in Winter's head.

What is this? What on earth is my wife so excited about now?

And he wonders where this bell suddenly comes from...

Violet was suddenly surprised and her eyes widened.

"It's going to be late like this."

As she hurriedly got into the carriage, Winter put one foot up and said, as if to prevent the carriage from starting.

"Wait for a second."

He rummaged through his wallet and produced a piece of paper with the words Leon Road written on it.

"This is like the currency used within Leon Road. Buy food for the book club people, use this."

"Ah, thank you for your concern."

Violet seemed to find the paper fascinating and took it without refusing.

 "Will the Princess come?"

"Can she possibly come? At this gathering of merchants."

"But her husband is of mixed race Kanik."

"No, Mr. Winter Blooming is just a Kanik mixed race? He owns all the land here in the downtown area."

Everyone gathered at Maureen's Silk Shop Book Club was in a state of restlessness. It was beyond embarrassing that a Princess would join such a small gathering of people who had nothing but money. She wasn't even just a Princess: her husband was a Winter Blooming.

After about 5 minutes of meeting time, they became convinced that no one was coming.

At that time, the sound of the door opening was heard and everyone looked towards the door.

A woman was standing there. Despite her simple attire, everyone in the group immediately recognized that she was Violet Blooming.

She had a straight posture and facial expression, and a unique rigid softness that made others nervous.

"I heard that a book club was held here. Did I come right?"

When Violet asked, one of the people who had rolled their eyes, Paula, a doctor, stood up.

"That's right. Come in."

"I'm sorry I'm late, from the first day."

As Violet said this, she sat down in the chair with her name tag and placed the book on her lap. Maureen, the silk shop owner, fidgeted and asked.

"Well, the chair might be uncomfortable... Oh, it's nothing special, Princess."

Maureen waved her hand mid-sentence, feeling burdened by Violet's attention, which always paid attention to those who spoke to her. Then Violet smiled and said.

"Thank you for inviting me to a cozy and nice-smelling store."

Maureen glanced at Violet again. She was a person who gave off a more difficult atmosphere than she had feared, but at the same time, she felt strangely likable about her.

As if everyone else was doing the same, they soon forgot about the stranger and the book club began. The discussion became longer, and the book club ended up being longer than either of them expected.

"I'm starting to feel hungry."

Violet must have finally remembered what someone said and took out the paper Winter had given her.

"Now that I think about it, my husband gave me something like this to treat me to a meal. Is this something I can use here?"

It was a bill bearing the name of Winter Blooming and the stamp of Leon Road. Among the people in there, all of those who were related to Winter in business, their faces turned white and they jumped up.

When Winter Blooming served a meal to someone related to the work, there was only one reason.

'If you don't want to cut off business with me, let's do better from now on.'

Violet had a lot of resentment toward her husband, but she didn't know that he was a person who would do bad things whenever he felt like it. Of all the people on Leon Road right now, the only one who didn't know that was Violet.

The people at the meeting were busy trying to figure out why Winter had bothered to buy his wife a meal. Is It just to be nice to his wife, or to send her back, or even to hold on to her for a long time?
