THYU - Chapter 25

The reason Violet didn't tell her husband about being locked in the closet was because she repeatedly refused to tell him about it. Being the kind of husband he is, she thought he wouldn't be upset about something like this at all.

Violet had seen Winter get angry a few times, but she had never seen him get that angry outside of a wedding.

As she waited for Winter's answer, she spoke again.

"Why do you talk like it's nothing?"

"It's already in the past."

"So this becomes nothing?"

"When did I say it was nothing?"

"That's what your expression looks like!"

Unable to bear it, Winter raised his voice, swore once, and muttered to himself.

"Whether I get divorced or not, I am the one involved, so I don't know why people around me are meddling."

"That's right."

At that time, the door opened and Hayel stuck his head in.

"CEO, you really have to go now!"

"Wait. I'll be leaving soon."

" It's really urgent."

"Can't you hear me?"

When Winter frowned and looked back at Hayel, he flinched and quietly left the bedroom.

When the door closed, Winter looked at Violet again as if concentrating on his prey.

I'm the one trapped, so why is he so angry?

Violet sighed slightly and asked.

"Are you really angry this time?"

"To whom?"

“To me.”

"Do I look like I'm mad at you right now?"

"Yes."

"Has it been like that for three years?"

When Violet tilted her head in response to his question, Winter asked this time. His expression was clear enough to appear colorless.

"Did I look angry all three years? always."

Hmm... Violet smiled faintly.

"It's not that you looked angry, you were angry."

"..."

"Anyway, I really need to sleep now. I'm tired."

Violet sat down on the bed and took off her slippers one by one. But Winter, who was supposed to go out, came in instead and lay down on her bed.

Violet asked with a rare frown.

"What are you doing?"

"I lay down. Why?"

"It's my room."

"Just be nice. Now the bed has just been taken away by your husband."

"What a strange person..."

Violet looked unconvinced, but Winter grabbed her arm and pulled her, so she had no choice but to lie down next to him.

Winter pretended to be tired and lay down, just staring at Violet. Violet said, embarrassed by those eyes that were both cold and warm, and in a way, like her husband.

"You seemed busy?"

"I'll go when you fall asleep. If you want to kick me out, go to sleep quickly."

Winter said and closed his eyes first, and Violet followed suit and muttered.

"Now that's enough. Let's go to work."

"Why do you keep kicking me out? I want you to stay someday."

"This is a promise and something planned."

It was strange that someone who only knew about work didn't go out. In the end, Winter didn't go out and just lay next to her the whole time, and Violet was worried about him, but she was so tired that she just fell asleep.

***

As soon as Violet fell asleep early, Winter entered his parent's mansion.

After the sun had set, his parents were enjoying dinner and wine at a banquet hall with some nobles. Catherine spotted him and came over.

"Winter, what's going on?"

Then Winter spoke in a sharp tone.

"I heard that you punished my wife by Iocking her in a closet."

From the moment he came in, she wondered if something had gone wrong to make his face so angry. Catherine, who had learned to some extent how to control Winter's hot temper, spoke kindly.

"Winter, we did it all with you in mind. You know?"

"How on earth is that for me?"

"I don't know what happened between you two to bring up the divorce, but Violet shouldn't do this to you. I can't see my son getting hurt."

"No matter what, isn't it too much to punish her like that when she's not even a child?"

"You say Violet was hurt a lot? I'm sorry if that was the case. I'll go and apologize. I thought it was all for you..."

When Catherine spoke with an expression that made her look like she was about to cry, Winter's expression, which had been angry to the core, relaxed somewhat.

"Please apologize."

" I have to do it. Isn't it natural for me to apologize when she was hurt?"

"Anyway. This incident can't be helped, so let's just move on, but you shouldn't do that in the future. Never."

"Then, I never do that again."

Only then did Winter's furious anger subside. He had always been lacking in affection, so hearing these kind words from his mother often clouded his thoughts.

Catherine asked, giving Winter a warm hug.

"Would you like to eat while you're here?"

"No, I have to go right away. Then, Violet will receive an apology, and I will end this by not paying any more for this year's party."

"...Huh?"

Catherine, who was not at all embarrassed by his words, paused.

"What do you mean?"

"You can resolve the matter between my wife and mother on your own. But anyway, since my mother interfered with me in this matter, I will also interfere."

Catherine suddenly remembered the words that were like her son's motto. The idea is to never suffer any loss under any circumstances.

She had no idea that her son was so crazy about money that he even dragged his bad mood into money issues. Catherine asked as if she was shocked.

"Did Violet tell you to do that? She always hated coming to parties, so it makes sense."

Winter made a bewildered expression as if wondering how he could not notice something so obvious.

"Mom too. Money is involved, so of course that's my opinion."

"Winter!"

Eventually, Catherine's voice, which had seemed soft throughout, became louder. Winter wrinkled his expression and continued.

"I am now twenty-seven. I'm not even a child, so why did you meddle in my divorce in the first place? Besides, just because I haven't paid for a few months doesn't mean you can't throw a party."

"No matter what, that's true!"

"I'm really busy. If you're going to nag me, don't forget to write it down somewhere and do it next month. I'll listen to you until you get sick of it."

There were times when he was cruel. Not only to his wife but also to his parents, and he was short-tempered and angry.

Catherine knew that too, but he had never been so adamant about cutting off the money. Catherine's shock was even greater because he was a son who Iistened to his parents as much as possible.

In a world where titles were not everything, the Bloomings had no choice but to further solidify their power through social circles. This is because not being able to hold a party directly led to a blemish on one's power.

Anyway, Winter, who took such a shocking action from a parent's point of view, hurriedly returned home before Hayel stamped his feet and had a tantrum.

***

When Violet woke up in the morning, her husband had left. She thought she heard Winter say in her sleep that there wouldn't be a big party for a while and what he was going to do, but she couldn't remember because she was half asleep.

Fortunately, he told Flip to tell the story properly in advance, and Violet, who woke up, learned of Winter's actions.

Just as a singer with stage fright goes on stage and shuts up, it is Catherine's party that makes Violet suffer from fear. When she thought that Catherine would not be able to throw her favorite party easily because she would not have money for the time being, the fear in her heart disappeared and she felt lighter.

Perhaps thanks to this, the mansion was extremely quiet for a while while Winter was away. However, ever since her husband left, It felt like Flip had been hovering around Violet and snooping around.

When she asked him why he did that, he turned red with embarrassment and confessed that Winter had told him to keep an eye on her. Violet felt aggrieved, wondering if she had done something wrong and had to be monitored, but after a few days she got used to it and it didn't bother her that much.

By the end of August, Violet's hair had grown a little longer and it no longer felt awkward to tie it in one ponytail. The maid, Jen, who had grown fond of her, tied her hair with a white ribbon with a yellow dandelion on it.

Violet, sitting across from the mirror, asked, playing with her hair, which had fallen a little differently than usual.

"Isn't it really strange?"

"Not at all! You're so cute!"

When royal women decorated their hair, they usually tied their hair neatly and pinned it so that it did not look messy at all.

However, it bothered her that Winter asked what kind of couple they were if they couldn't sit face to face and talk if he didn't brush her hair.

She told Jen about it and she insisted that she try her hair, which was trendy these days, and she tied it loosely.

Jen chattered.

"The Lady of the house I used to live in said this was a trend. What should I say, like a southern girl?"

"I don't know why I have to be like a Southern girl. I am from the capital and an adult."

"Ah, Little Madam, why are you wasting your pretty face so stubbornly? I'll take care of it."

Jen pouted like a child. Violet found Jen cute like that and smiled a little. After tying her hair up to Jen's liking, Violet put on the boots she bought last time and went out into the garden. Fortunately, as talented as she was, all the places she paid attention to were in great shape, to the point where Winter even threatened to fire the gardener if he saw one.

While Violet was engrossed in gardening, she heard a voice behind her.

"Violet."

Violet paused and turned around. Her mother, Mrs. Ella Filice, was standing on the stone path.

"Mother?"

"Oh my god, what are you doing?"

Ella looked at her daughter with astonishment in her eyes. She then spoke as if it was no big deal to Violet, who was a little taken aback by her mother's sudden appearance.

"Because I don't like my husband being too neat."

"Even though!"

"Like my mother said, I am no longer a member of the royal family, but a member of the Blooming family."

Ella was dissatisfied with Violet's quiet but firm words, but she did not make any further comments about her outfit. She asked as Violet took off her gloves, placed them in a bucket, and headed towards her mansion.

"What's going on here?"

"I came here wondering when I could show my grandchild. I can't see any signs of it. Hasn't three years already passed enough?"

"My husband doesn't want children."

"What if you always blame my husband? You have to make an effort."

She remembered Ash's words that divorce should never happen. Violet asked calmly, thinking that the child was what Ash came up with as a measure to keep his younger sister from getting divorced.

"I guess my brother told you to go see me. Tell me about the child."

"He's doing that because he's worried about you. It's because he has a lot of work to do, but he is a soft-hearted child."

Violet smiled bitterly and nodded, pointing to the mansion.

"My husband will be back this evening, so I'll try to persuade him again. First, have a cup of tea."

Still, it wasn't a bad thing that she finally had a chance to have a cup of tea alone with her mother.
