THYU - Chapter 15
To Help You Understand
"It's broken."
Last dawn, Winter tapped the solid green indicator with his finger, convinced that Violet couldn't have come in by this time. Then he lost his temper and banged on the bell next to him.
As a result, Lulu, who was sleeping in the room right next to the guest room, got scared and ran out.
"If there's a fire somewhere..."
Lulu saw Winter ringing the bell with a puzzled look on her face. Then Winter pointed to the indicator and said.
"Call the facilities department and tell them to fix it right away."
"Yes? It's neat."
"Can't you see this? It said Violet was going out."
"That's right. The little Lady didn't come in today."
"What?"
"She said she was going to have fun, but she had so much fun she didn't even call me."
"No contact?"
Winter, whose face had turned pale, asked with a wrinkled expression.
"She went to have fun, right? Are you sure?"
"I'm sure! The chef made a lot of desserts and she took it with her, saying she would share it."
"My wife is a woman who hasn't even invited anyone into the house for three years. She doesn't go out to have fun, so she stays out? Violet? If you didn't hear from her, you should have checked to see if she was okay!"
Winter's crumpled face was so scary that Lulu cowered in fear. However, Lulu, who had recently seen Winter, was also a person whose roots had grown stronger as she faced all kinds of truths at this hotel.
She said with an aggrieved look on her face.
"No, it's not like putting a child out in the water. What's dangerous in a flower garden? It's a nice day, so she could go have some fun! Why do you always say that you live in the capital and only come in for a day?"
There was nothing to refute Lulu's words. Winter, who hates her, got up to his throat with swear words, but he couldn't bring himself to spit them out because he could see that Violet liked Lulu.
He said as he did his best to sound calm.
"Therefore...... I mean, how can someone who hates even a short tea party stay up all night having fun?"
"Little Madame loves being around people, but she hates tea parties? Aren't you mistaken?"
"After living for three years, I know better. Anyway, give me the keys."
Winter entered Violet's room, holding it as if taking a key. When he went inside, he found a room that was as neat as Violet always was. Lulu must have shown him all the nice rooms in this hotel, but he couldn't understand why she chose this small, unremarkable room.
Winter sat down on the chair in the living room, looked at the guest room door, and began to wait for Violet. If it's Iate and she decides to sleep in, she'll come tomorrow morning. In a few hours, he will see her come back safe and sound.
If he hadn't said that to himself as if life wasn't fun, he wouldn't have been so scared.
He looked at the door and thought. As time passed, he thought that Violet would come in the morning, at lunch, and perhaps before dinner. However, when Violet did not come in the evening, he became scared and wondered if something had happened to her. Eventually, he contacted the Ogel Garden where Violet had gone to play.
Winter was relieved to hear that Violet was there, but his fear didn't completely go away. Even if he tried to do a job, he couldn't get it to work at all.
***
When the Blooming family took Winter in, for about a year he had a rare dream of being grabbed by the collar and dragged away by the owner of the restaurant where he worked as a servant.
He doesn't know if it's related, but it felt exactly like he was having that nightmare while he was waiting for his wife. He guessed he was being too complacent, comparing the disappearance of her wife to a twelve-year-old having a nightmare about losing her parents.
When he arrived at Enna's Mansion, Winter found his wife enjoying dinner with a beautiful face.
It was the first time in his life that he had seen his wife's face so happy, but at the same time, he hated her for causing him such great fear.
Who in the world would be this late without even contacting him? What should a person who is waiting do?
When Winter, who had thought it was a red flag, was starting to feel a sense of déjà vu, Enna brought wine and poured a glass for each of them.
"Don't you know if I can accept such good wines?"
"Because I'm an uninvited guest."
"What are you talking about? If you're Violet's husband, you'll always be my guest. Moreover, if a guest brings wine like this, I will come running out even in my sleep."
As Enna spoke with sincere joy and left, Violet looked at his wine glass and asked Winter.
"Is this such a good wine? Enough to welcome you when she wakes up?"
"It's a good wine, but it's hard to find.
"I did not know,"
"There are some things the Princess doesn't know."
"Strangely enough, I get drunk easily when I drink red wine. I hardly ever drink."
Violet smelled the scent first and took a sip of the wine.
"Oh, it smells really good. It's sweet..."
"I heard you get drunk well."
"Because I'm going back with you."
Violet said without thinking, then stopped and looked at Winter..
"Oh, do I have to go right away?"
"..."
"It's too late, how about we do it tomorrow? The wine is sweet. I'd like to drink just one glass and go."
Violet made an excuse for wine. Because if she asked him to stay, he wouldn't stay.
After a moment, Winter opened his mouth.
"I'm not going. Drink more."
"Is it so? It's a big deal."
Violet felt relieved and started drinking wine again. Then she grabbed Winter's arm and dragged him away.
"I'm going to say hello."
For the first time since getting married, Winter was led around by Violet and greeted the dinner guests. By the time he finished spinning around, Violet's glass was empty.
Judging from the fact that her cheeks were flushed from just one glass, she seemed to really get drunk on red wine. The dinner was supposed to last all night, but the couple left the mansion early because they had a two-hour drive home.
Enna and Sharon caught them, but when they soothed them by saying they would come again, they sullenly let them go.
Violet was pleasantly drunk as she headed to the carriage. When she stumbled as she walked, Winter rushed to hug her around the waist. And when she turned her body towards him, Winter saw that the alcohol on her cheeks was blooming like a peach, and her quiet eyes were full of sleep.
She curled the corners of her eyes and smiled.
"I wanted to try it."
"What?"
"Introducing my husband to people. It's nice to try it."
Winter never imagined that his wife would be this happy after just attending one party with him. Winter's heart was weighed down by his wife's constant worry that he would leave midway.
Violet, who was in the carriage, was so drowsy that she dozed off and eventually leaned her head against the door.
However, soon she became concerned that there was someone next to her, she opened her eyes and saw Winter.
"I'm tired because I didn't sleep well last night preparing for the party."
Winter wrapped Violet's head and made her rest on his shoulder.
"How can two hours go by like this? Just sleep."
Violet's eyes opened again at his actions. As he continued to do things he didn't normally do, she suddenly woke up.
After hesitating, Violet carefully reached out and took Winter's hand. Then she raised her head and saw Winter.
"Winter. Let's really talk this time."
"If it was about divorce, I answered. "LI said no."
"If divorce doesn't happen... I'm talking about children."
"..."
When the path to death was blocked, she thought of leaving.
But it wasn't that Violet wasn't afraid. She wanted to maintain her marital relationship if there was even the slightest possibility, especially since she was a member of the royal family who would not allow her to divorce.
She thought these two things had to happen first for the marriage to survive.
It was a branch house in the capital and a child.
Violet continued, pulling Winter's hand and wrapping it with both of her hands.
"I know you're busy. But now we need to talk about the child... "
Before she could finish her sentence, Winter's hand slipped away.
"I have no idea."
He turned his head out of the carriage window as if he wanted to end this conversation..
Violet asked, looking at his back.
"What do you mean? I have no thoughts."
"Kid. No need, not at all."
"Is that it?"
Winter said nothing more.
Violet stared at his back. She knew he would avoid conversation whenever the child was brought up, but she had no idea he would react so strongly.
Without another word, she turned to the opposite window.
"Yes. Now I know."
And there was no more conversation in the carriage.
By the time they got to the hotel, Winter looked in Violet's direction. She must have sobered up and was staring out the window without moving.
Winter understood that what Violet was talking about was a condition in line of divorce. He was upset because he knew, but he couldn't give it any space when it came to the child.
That was impossible for him.
***
Violet opened her eyes late in the morning.
It wasn't that her memory was interrupted, but she was very tired, so she vaguely remembered getting off the carriage and entering the hotel, and pushing Winter who was trying to help her.
As she raised her upper body, the sunlight coming through the window was too bright. She looked around in confusion and woke up scared when she found the clock showing it was past 11 o'clock.
"Lu, Lulu? Why didn't you wake me up?"
She got up quickly and stopped at the sight of her husband through the open bedroom door. Winter finished the tea with a bored expression and looked at Violet.
"I told you not to wake me up. I didn't expect you to sleep until this hour."
"What are you doing?"
"I make time."
".... Yes?"
"Come on. Let's eat. Because I'm on the verge of starving to death."
Violet was about to walk out with a puzzled expression on her face, but when she glanced at herself in the mirror, she was startled and closed the bedroom door. Then Winter, who was killing her with his impatient temper, walked over with a crumpled expression and opened the door.
"I'm sure you don't want to sleep anymore.
"It's not like hibernation."
"My hair..... It's scattered."
"Good job cutting it."
"Would you please let me finish my sentence?
When Violet couldn't stand it anymore and started to argue, Winter crossed his arms and looked down at her with annoyed eyes like always.
"Try it, what?"
"My hair is a mess, so please leave."
"No."
"And I don't eat boiled vegetables for breakfast like you do."
"What are you eating?"
"Toasted bread and jam."
"You say something sweet starts in the morning?"
"That's not something you should say when you drink more sugar than coffee."
"For some reason, when my body changed, every cup of coffee served was a hit. It was your taste that was the problem."
"I'm the problem?"
Violet asked as if she was shocked. Then Winter shrugged his shoulders and turned away.
"I guess you know that now. Then, brush your hair as much as you want and come out. I was starving so much that I don't even feel hungry anymore."
Winter, who was so sarcastic, closed the bedroom door. Violet looked at the door with eyes filled with absurdity. She couldn't figure out why it was suddenly like that. Did she say something crazy because she was drunk yesterday?
Violet searched her memory, but the most she could do was to discuss the matter of the child.
It was a conversation that Violet had tried several times in the past and one that her husband always put off, saying it would be later.
Although it hurt her to be told that he didn't need children, it was nothing compared to the pain she felt when she was neglected by her husband.
So, it meant that it wasn't a big deal enough to take the time to come here and have breakfast like that.
"What kind of trick is this?"
There was no way he would take time like this for no reason.
There's clearly something up there.
