THYU - Chapter 14

THYU - Chapter 14

To Help You Understand

"I heard from Sharon that there is nothing Lord Winter doesn't know about you."

Late at night, after everyone had gone to bed, Enna said that she and Violet were making decorations for tomorrow. Sharon was already asleep on the sofa like a child, and the two were standing in front of a wide wooden table. Violet looked at the ribbon in her hand and nodded once.

Enna looked at her somewhat stiff face for a moment and then spoke.

"Is life in the South very difficult?"

Then Violet opened her mouth.

"It's hard, but at the same time, I feel sorry for my husband who lost the money he loved so much and got nothing...Like Ash said. I wonder if I'm just being selfish and saying I can't endure what I had to endure."

"Umm. I'm sorry to say this as your brother, but Ash Lawrence is an opportunist. The words of such a man are not worth keeping in mind."

"Ha, grandma?"

When Violet looked surprised. Enna shrugged her shoulders.

"What do you think? I am already at an age where I have nothing to be afraid of. If there's one thing I'm afraid of, it's the chance opportunists like that take on the world my grandchildren and you will have to live in."

"..."

Enna, who was speaking bluntly, looked at a bundle of small tree branches tied with a green ribbon.

"Like you said, it's really cool."

Violet also looked at the completed bundle. Enna said with a tired expression.

"Oh, you must be tired. I'll just go in now."

"Ah yes. Please sleep first."

"And Violet, if you're having a hard time, come here anytime. I can take care of you."

At Enna's words, Violet's face spread with vitality like a flower blooming in summer. She smiled her joyous smile.

"Yes."

***

Winter didn't leave the representative's office until after 2 a.m. Hayel yawned and saw Winter off.

"Are you not sleeping at work?"

"My wife is in the capital."

"Because of the divorce talk? Do you think she'll feel better if you go home a 12 a.m.?"

"Don't climb."

"I have to speak up, too, but who does that?"

Hayel pouted. As he said, whenever they encountered Winter who was known for his foul temper, all the employees either ran away with a pale face or said hello and ran away. Hayel was the only person who could say this.

The headquarters of the Kanik Hotel were located on an island at the mouth of the Reel River.

Winter rolled up his warm shirt to his arms and headed to the carriage. Hayel, who was walking next to him, looked around the island with new emotions and said.

"Wow, when the CEO first asked me to buy this island, I thought you had lost your money and lost your mind."

"Why are you like this today? Did you turn?"

"I'm so excited! Hasn't today made us the largest hotel chain on the continent?"

"What does that have to do with me?"

"......If it has nothing to do with the CEO, then who does it have anything to do with?"

Hayel asked as if he didn't understand and opened the carriage door.

Winter, riding in a carriage, looked out the carriage window at the island for the first time in a while. Originally, he bought an island that existed only at the mouth of a river, laid a foundation for it, and built buildings on it. Now, it has become famous as a shopping tourist destination filled with luxury stores, and enormous profits have fallen into Winter's hands, companies on the continent are anxious to set up shop here, as advertising is more effective than anywhere else.

"Let's get some rest."

It was true that he had overexerted himself over the past three years. As he continued to live a miserable lifestyle of staying up all night for several days and sleeping through the day, he felt like his mind was exhausted even though his body was holding on.

The carriage ran along the river and soon arrived at the hotel. Now that he thinks about it, he doesn't know why he came back when he should have just slept at work.

Winter entered the hotel, ruffling his hair.

He thought he would go right in and sleep and have lunch with Violet the next morning. The Princess rarely came out of her room before breakfast. Only after eating a quick breakfast on the bedroom table did she leave the room.

Anyway, she is a woman who has nothing in common with him from beginning to end.

He was heading to his room, but without realizing it, he moved towards Violet's room.

In any case, it is impossible to pursue a divorce with Violet's power. So Winter had no fear of her leaving.

His wife seemed very shocked by the ID check, but to be honest, if Winter wanted to, he could have blown up the officer who did the ID check, as well as the entire Welton district. Rather, they were lucky.

So, no matter how much she was a Princess, tying her ankles because she was tied up with money was not a task. However, he couldn't just ignore the look in her eyes that seemed to make her tired of living. It was possible to trap her alive, but in the unlikely event that she had a bad mind, he had no choice no matter how much money and power he had.

His parents were happy to give him money, and they always returned their love. Even when he stopped by his house for the first time in a year, he never doubted their love.

So he didn't really understand why his wife was having such a hard time. Isn't a family originally maintained by money? Why can't his relationship with his wife be maintained like this?

While he was thinking that, he checked Violet's guest room door. Winter noticed that the indicator next to the cabin door had turned green.

It meant the guests going out.

***

Preparations for the dinner were not completed until the afternoon. Enna was very satisfied and said to Sharon and Violet.

"You worked hard, so go change your clothes and come back."

"I think I should head back now."

As Violet spoke, Sharon grabbed her arm with wide eyes.

"Where are you going? After going through such a hard time. Of course, we have to have dinner."

"I didn't even bring a dress..."

"I have an extra dress. There are a lot of things from my grandmother."

Sharon insisted on holding on and never letting go. Since it was a gathering of her old friends, she thought Enna would take her side, but it seemed like she had no intention of sending Violet away either.

In the end, Violet unexpectedly joins Enna's dinner party.

The guests who entered the mansion were a little surprised by the party filled with greenery but soon felt lively and happy.

Plants with cute green leaves decorated the tables and the unlit fireplace, giving off a refreshing scent everywhere. She filled a basket with a mixture of hedgehog-like purple Echinops flowers and artichokes that were blooming under the fence hung them up, and placed a pot of light green hydrangeas by the window.

Older, more elegant guests looked at the mansion and admired it...

"It was hot outside, but it feels cool coming in here."

"This is my first time having a party like this and it's really cool."

Enna had a calm expression on her face and made a fuss, saying that Violet had solved the problem with her wit. The guests who enjoyed the new atmosphere were so full of praise that Violet was so embarrassed that she didn't know what to do.

As Violet was sighing from the burden, an old gentleman stood in front of her. Violet's eyes widened as she recognized him.

"Sir Kenjes!"

Kenjes was originally the commander of the royal guard, but when the royal family was disbanded, he took over the job of chief of the Metropolitan Police Agency. He left without expressing his dissatisfaction because it was the order of Ash Lawrence, who was loyal to him by his side, but he always kept his affection for the Lawrence family in his heart.

When Violet held out the back of her hand, Kenjes bent down and kissed the back of Violet's hand, then straightened up again.

"It's been a while, Ma'am."

Enna, who saw this, walked over and spoke to Kenjes.

"I was wondering why someone who had never come to a private event for a while accepted the invitation. You came to see Violet?"

"I'm sorry, Ma'am. Now, as a person carrying out public affairs, private events..."

"Yes. I understand, you little brat."

Enna was scolded, then laughed as if it was a joke and left. Violet covered her mouth with her hand and laughed softly at the sight of the two old friends of hers from when she was a young socialite. Kenjes asked with a smile.

"How are you?"

"I am doing well."

"I should have continued to protect you, but I am always sorry that I could not."

Violet's clear eyes filled with joy at the sincerity of Kenjes, who always remained silent.

Kenjes continued.

"And I heard that you visited Welton West. I will pay more attention in the future."

"Thank you, and... It makes me feel good to see your face."

Violet smiled. Kenjes then responded with a polite greeting.

"I'm glad to be able to see you like this."

It seemed like she had nowhere to go, but when she came to the capital, there were people here and there who missed her.

Violet suddenly felt like the time she had committed suicide was a thing of the distant past. Even then, at some point, the depression comes back right around the corner.

Violet buried those feelings close to fear out of sight. It will be revealed again someday, but she wanted to be embraced by this warmth without fear, even just for a moment.

Enna served excellent food for dinner.

It was after 11 o'clock when the meal ended, and the pleasant stories continued. Violet glanced at her watch.

'I guess he's not waiting....'

Violet was worried, but she thought she was too weak and made up her mind. The man disappeared on the day of his wedding and returned months later. It was unclear whether the man would have even left work in the first place.

It was when Violet was concentrating on the dessert that had just begun to arrive and was erasing her worries. A servant walked over and whispered to Enna, and she said.

"Oh, tell them to come in."

"Yes, My Lady."

The servant left, and a moment later a man entered the mansion. Violet, who discovered him, was startled and covered her mouth with her hand.

"Winter?"

Violet stood up. Winter gave Enna the wine he had brought as a gift, feeling sorry for the sudden visit. Enna, who likes drinking wine, seemed to be quite good, so her expression was full of surprise.

Violet's eyebrows tilted in embarrassment. After greeting Enna and Winter, she approached Winter and asked with concern.

"What's going on?"

"..."

When he didn't answer, Violet raised her head, then turned it back. He normally doesn't go around haphazardly, but this is the first time Violet has seen him wearing such a formal tuxedo. His hair was completely pulled back, revealing his handsome face, and his fierce-looking mouth was clenched in displeasure.

After decorating himself like this, Violet was once again surprised by his appearance. Anyway, even though she hated him so much, she never got tired of his appearance.

"Are you here on business?"

There was no other reason than this, Violet was sure. Then Winter, who had paused for a while, answered.

"I stopped by while passing by."

"Here? A place two hours away from the hotel?"

"Is this a place I shouldn't pass by?"

"That's not it..."

Violet gave a puzzled look.

But Winter had to stop by as he was passing by.

That was because, if he told her about the emotional changes he had experienced from 2 AM until this hour, not only Violet but everyone in the world would laugh at him.
