TAPGB - Chapter 112
The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride
"What are you doing there?"
"Ah. I thought it would be a good idea to take a look in the basement."
The place where the two people were standing was the entrance leading down to the basement.
"I heard that there was a note left by Carcerine. I'm going to check it out."
"Now that the seal has been broken, we might discover something else in the basement. How about you, Leah, do you want to go with me?"
I hesitated when I saw Caesar's hand reaching out to me.
Last time I just woke up, I was out of my mind, so this was actually my first visit to the basement.
I was a little scared because it was an unknown space where only ominous things happened.
Even I am like this, what must other people be like?
Thinking of the humans who had been sacrificed, I made up my mind and held Caesar's hand.
The further down the stairs I went, the more I felt my heart pounding.
I was out of breath, and my hands were shaking. For some reason, an unexplainable feeling of anxiety crawled up from my toes.
"Are you okay?"
Age felt something strange and grabbed my shoulder. I was shocked and came back to my senses.
"...It's okay. I guess I was a little nervous."
Caesar looked at me and Age behind him and then went down.
'It feels like déjà vu.'
Caesar felt that Leah's shaking appearance was similar to himself when he first arrived in the basement.
Coming down the stairs, Caesar Iit up the entire place with magic.
"On the left is an underground tunnel. On the right is the room where sacrifices were made. And this is where you were, Leah."
In front was a room with the door wide open. A place filled with greenery, as if you were in a forest. It was a sight that was hard to believe was a basement.
"This is probably what Lucian was talking about."
Caesar led Leah towards the wall in front. At the edge of the wall was Carserine's confessional, which Lucian discovered.
Leah looked at it blankly, then used magic to embroider the letters in the air.
And as she enlarged the text, she was able to see exactly what Carserine had left behind.
"Carcerine."
"..."
Age was immersed in longing for Carcerin, and Caesar frowned.
To be more precise, his head was pounding and he was close to frowning on his own.
"It's like this when you come to the basement."
The feeling of someone pressing down on your head and sending shivers down your spine.
It was the feeling Caesar got when a ghost that tried to take over his body approached him.
Now that he think about it, he think he heard that guy's voice the other day.
What did he say? Did he say he can feel safe now?
Caesar thought deeply about the time he unsealed Leah. At that time, there was the sound of something falling next to him.
"Leah!"
Leah sat down in a cold sweat. At that moment, Age reflexively supported her. and Caesar also hurriedly looked at her.
“Aaakh!”
Caesar suddenly complained of pain and collapsed into his seat.
Age, who didn't know why, hurriedly tried to shake Leah and Caesar, but neither of them could hear his voice.
They had the illusion that everything around them, let alone their voice, was moving away.
Both Caesar and Leah were shaking and holding their heads.
“Aaaah!”
“Aaaahhh!”
Screams of pain filled the basement, and the surrounding scenery changed in an instant.
***
Caesar and Leah looked around, confused by the sudden disappearance of the pain. It was definitely the basement they were in, but something was a little different.
'Aaaaaaaah!'
A woman was screaming in pain. And black magicians were surrounding that woman.
[That...]
[... Me?]
The two couldn't understand the current situation at all.
No matter how they looked at it, the woman in front of them was Leah. No. to be exact, it was Arya, her from the past.
It seemed like the warlocks were sealing Aria.
A man stood behind the warlock. He had ordinary dark brown hair, but as the wind blew in the wake of the magic, the eyes that had been hidden by his bangs were revealed.
The moment they saw the golden eyes. Leab and Caesar's hearts sank.
[...Lucian?]
[No, the first Emperor...]
Although he was very similar to Lucian, he was also a very different person.
'Leon! I'm going to kill you! I'll kill you!'
At that moment. Arya screamed in pain.
'Aria, it's not too late.'
The first Emperor, who had been silent, opened his mouth.
'If you choose me, I will release y ou from here...'
Quaaaaang-!
Before the first Emperor had finis his speaking, a loud roar was heard. The mansion was so shaken that the warlocks lost their balance and stumbled.
The moment an opening appeared, a storm raged and something red passed before the eyes of the two people.
[Carserine...?]
The identity of the red thing was the hair of the red dragon, Carcerine. He urgently grabbed Arya.
Caesar looked at Carcerin as if he were nailed to the nail. He is the uncle he have only heard about.
But why did his uncle's face look exactly like the ghost that had been tormenting him?
Carcerine, who was embracing Arya, gritted his teeth.
'Do you think you'll be safe after doing this?'
The Dragon's Fear, the next Lord candidate was not at a level that a mere mortal could handle.
As the warlocks collapsed, writhing in pain, the first Emperor, Leon, looked at them indifferently.
'How did you find out about this place?'
'Leon! How... How can this happen! Are you going to shatter our friendship like this?!'
'Ha, it's obvious at first glance. Anyway, you is not helpful until the end!'
'Leon!'
The creepy Dragon Fear and his ferocious mana swirled around the basement. Even though Leon had a scratch on his cheek, he didn't blink.
Instead, he just looked at him coldly.
'Cough!'
'Arya!'
Arya vomited blood. Carcerine urgently grabbed her. Arya saw Carcerine with her bleary eyes and grabbed him by the hem of his clothes.
'Betrayer! You!How could you betray me...!'
Then, with an evil look on her face, she poured out her resentment to wards Carcerine. Carcerine shook his head with despair on his face.
'No. Not me...'
'Cough! Ugh! You also... I'm go ing to kill that bastard too...!!'
Arya's resentment did not last long. Because she just dropped her hand with which she had held on to Carcerine. Carcerine's pupils shrank.
Soon,a huge mana storm raged that was incomparable to the one before.
'Why! What you did to me!'
Carcerin shed tears as she held on to the fallen Arya. Leon responded coolly.
'You have to speak clearly. Arya became like that thanks to your magic circle.'
'I didn't mean to do this...!'
'Look down at your feet. Isn't it really the magic circle you made?'
Carcerine trembled and continued to deny.
'Carcerine, you can never disobey me. You haven't forgotten what contract we signed, have you?'
When Leon raised his left arm, a brand was revealed. And the same thing appeared on Carcerine's left arm.
'As long as the soul contract is valid, you probably know that you can't lay a finger on me, right?'
'Ugh!'
'Get out of there. Unless you want to end up like that too.'
As Leon approached, Carcerine gritted his teeth. Then he brought back the mana that had died down.
Leon's eyebrows twitched when he realized that he was defying himself.
'If this continues, you won't be safe either, right?'
'... Arya will never be handed over to you. Even if it means sacrificing my life.'
'Carcerine!'
Leon was the first to show his emotions and stretched out his hand, but Carcerin was faster.
White fire rose from his body and engulfed Carcerin and Arya.
'Not dead yet, not yet...'
Carcerine laid Arya down and muttered something. Then, purple smoke flowed from Arya's body and coalesced into one.
Carcerine blew purple smoke into the air with her trembling hands. Eventually, he removed any traces of her having vomited blood and treated her minor remaining wounds.
'You will be able to return to normal when someone who truly loves you appears. This is the best I can do right now.'
Every time he used his power, Carcerine's body crumbled into particles of light.
Leah and Caesar, who were watching the illusion, had a hunch. That he was dying.
Bang bang bang!
At that time, they heard a noise next to them. With a distorted face, Leon tried to somehow get to where Carcerine and Arya were.
In the past, he would have been able to easily pass in and out of this white flame, but now that he had acquired this power, it was no different from extreme poison. Carcerin muttered as he realized that he was no longer the Leon he knew.
'I separated your soul, but if things continue like this, that guy might do something strange to your body. I need to put it somewhere safer.'
Carcerine, who was breathing heavily, looked around at the place where he was and barely opened hismouth.
'This is a thorough conspiracy.'
[This...]
'There's no way I would betray you otherwise. Sorry. I also had no idea things would turn out like this.'
The confession they had seen on the wall flowed out of his mouth. This was the magic that would protect Arya, and the excuse Carcerine wanted to give her.
'When I found out that I had been used by that guy, the person we loved was already at a point where we couldn't save him. Sorry. I wanted to save him somehow. But, he asked me for you.'
The particles became a protective shield, and the protective shield event ually became a wall, completely blocking the entry and exit of others.
Caesar realized that this was the door and wall leading to the room where Leah had been sleeping.
It is a barrier created by Carcerine, not something that originally existed in the basement.
'I will sacrifice my whole body to save you. I will make sure that you do not fall into his hands.'
The light particles scattered from Carcerine's body surrounded Arya.
Seeing him approaching death, Leah reflexively stretched out her hand.
[Oh, no!]
But her hand passed straight through Carcerine.
Carcerine raised his lowered head. As if he was lying, he looked at Leah and Caesar. And he smiled and opened his mouth.
'I'm sorry, I love you, Arya.'
A bright light burst out from the smiling Carceline. When a flash disappeared, Carserine was nowhere to be found and only Arya, sealed in the Dragon Heart, was lying there.
The purple smoke floating in the air swirled around the dragon heart and then left the basement.
***
"Shit!"
Meanwhile, at the same time. As Leah and Caesar collapsed out of no where, Age muttered a curse.
Even if he shook their bodies, slapped them, or used magic, they didn't budge.
"It's not a curse, so why...?"
It is said that Leah lost her original memory, so she could collapse from mental shock, but why did Caesar also collapse with her?
As he was thinking about what to do with them, light came out from somewhere.
"This..."
It was the light coming from Leah's pocket. Age carefully pulled it out and found a self-luminous stone.
"Carserine?"
That was Carcerine's Dragon Heart that he had handed over to her.
That wasn't the only surprise. Some problem had arisen, and his sub-space opened of its own accord.
Age saw light leaking from there as well and took out all of Carcerine's Dragon Hearts.
"It's hot."
Once all the dragon hearts gathered together, things got hot in no time. Soon, a flash of white light burst out, enough to turn the entire basement white.
"Ugh!"
How much time has passed like that?
The light gradually faded. And the dragon heart that was in pieces suddenly merged into one and shrunk to the size of a fist.
"What the hell is going on...?"
Age's eyes wavered aimlessly.
