TAPGB - Chapter 111
The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride
Leah arrived at Lucian's office and found James coming out from inside.
"James, is Your Majesty inside?"
"Yes, he is there."
The moment Leah smiled brightly and was about to knock, James gently blocked her hand.
"Your Majesty is not in a good mood right now."
"Yes?"
"Yes. Leah, please take good care of Your Majesty."
Leah smiled as James' concern for Lucian was clearly visible.
"I'll keep that in mind. Thank you."
Leah passed James and went inside. Lucian didn't even know that Leah had come and was contemplating something about her while resting his chin on her.
It was definitely a different atmosphere than usual.
Leah carefully approached him. Seeing that he still didn't notice her, Leah knocked on the desk.
Knock.
"Leah? When did you come?"
Seeing Lucian returning to his usual self, Leah went to his side.
"What were you thinking so hard about?"
"Ah... I guess it's because I heard something a little unexpected."
"What is that?"
Lucian hesitated and then told Leah what he had discussed with Ruber.
"...I see."
"At least he didn't send me there for any other purpose."
Lucian was a little confused as he had to face the feelings of his father, whom he had ignored and did not want to know.
"But what's going on here at this hour? Are you done with your business?"
"No, I think the information is a bit lacking, so I'm going to go to the mansion."
"Mansion?"
"Yes, I thought I might be able to find out the reason more clearly if I go there. Caesar wants to go now, is that okay?"
Lucian chuckled and played with Leah's hair.
"You don't need to ask me for permission one by one. I want to be with Leah, not to tie you down. If there's a place you want to go, go anytime. Of course, you have to tell me in advance. That way I can prepare my mind."
"Okay. I understand. Age decided to go with us, but you..."
"As you can see, I don't think I can go. I have a lot of work to do and I have something to look into."
There was already a huge pile of documents on Lucian's desk.
I felt sorry for Lucian, who must have been very distraught and had to work without being able to rest properly.
I lowered my head and kissed Lucian. Lucian's eyes widened as if he hadn't expected it.
"You shouldn't overdo it."
Lucian smiled brightly after seeing her eyes full of worry.
"If it's a reward like this, don't you think I can stay up all night for a few more days?"
"Where did I hear you not to over-exert yourself?"
"Do it one more time."
Leah, who was glaring at Lucian with her triangle-shaped eyes, trembled at the sight of Lucian hugging her waist and being very affectionate.
And once again, she gathered courage and kissed him lightly.
However, the moment her lips touched, Lucian immediately wrapped his arms around Leah's head and breathed deeply.
Leah was startled for a moment by the hot breath that quickly entered her mouth, but soon closed her eyes and enjoyed the kiss with Lucian.
After a short and long time, the two people's lips parted.
"Ha... I don't want to fall."
Leah wiggled her toes as the hot breath they shared a moment ago tickled her ears.
"No. I have to work now, and... Because you can do it anytime."
The sight of Leah whispering in his ear with a red face was very erotic. When Lucian couldn't hold back again and rushed towards her, Leah punched him on the shoulder.
"Hmm. I'll come back after finishing my work, so work hard too."
Leaving behind the regretful Lucian, Leah cleared her throat for no reason. As she was about to leave, something caught her eye.
"Lucian, is this me?"
A framed portrait of Leah was placed on Lucian's desk.
"That's right."
Lucian said as Leah tilted her head and looked at the portrait.
"I don't know if you know, but even before I left the mansion, I carried your picture with me."
"What?"
A portrait of her that he made after begging Leah when he was young. Lucian carried one of them in his arms every day. And it was the same when he stormed out of the mansion in a fit of rage.
"We broke up unintentionally. I looked at this picture every day. I miss Leah."
However, perhaps because it was simply drawn on the parchment, or because it was touched and stained so much, the parchment became increasingly worn.
Lucian thought he couldn't leave it like this, so he secretly hired a painter.
"As you know, I have no talent for drawing."
"It's terrible."
Leah still can't forget the first picture drew of Lucian.
'He almost pictured me as an evil spirit."
After thinking about the past for a moment, Leah looked at her portrait again.
"The artist is very skilled. Is he a royal painter?"
"To be exact, an assistant painter. I don't need someone with a loud mouth, so I deliberately asked an assistant painter to do it."
"Hmm, really? What's his name?"
"What did you say? Deanne Raple? Diane Reifle?"
"What?"
"EI don't remember all the names. but I think his last name was Reifle. Now that I think about it, it looks like a familiar castle."
Leah's eyes shook slightly. Because she was so familiar with that castle.
"Perhaps Lucian..."
"Hey! When are you going? Age has already arrived!"
Caesar threw open the door and grinned. It was he who had been waiting for Leah a little while ago.
"You passed all the work on to me, but you were happily dating? Come to work!"
"Now, wait a minute "
Caesar, lacking patience, grabbed Leah's hand. Leah quickly turned her head before being forcibly teleported by him.
"Lucian! Call me out later! I have something to check! Okay..."
Pot-!
Before Lia could finish speaking. Caesar teleported away, taking Age and Leah with him.
Lucian blinked as he saw the three disappear in an instant.
***
"We finally arrived."
Age, who had been quietly closing his eyes, raised his head when he felt a magical energy nearby.
Soon, Caesar and Leah appeared out of thin air.
"I! Would! Do! There is! Please! Teleport! Should I do it?"
"Evil! Argh! Why are you hitting me?"
Age's eyes naturally narrowed. Caesar was being beaten by Leah.
"Ugh. That's the next road candidate."
Don't say it, don't say it.
"Do it in moderation. Have you forgotten why we came here?"
Only after Age stopped them, the two separated from each other. Caesar huffed and glared at Leah, but no further argument occurred.
After taking a deep breath, Leah turned her head and looked at the mansion. After standing in silence for a long time she opened her mouth.
"This is what it was like here."
Even though the period of time she spent in the imperial palace was ridiculously short compared to the period of time she lived in the mansion, it still felt unfamiliar for some reason.
Even when she stood outside the fence, there were no chains or pain that bound her, and now she could not move freely through the mansion.
Sigh-
If she didn't take care of it, the hinge made noise. And the mansion, which had been empty since no one had come and gone for a long time, had dust settling here and there.
A musty smell that she had never smelled before made her realize that things had changed a lot from when she was a ghost.
Age came to the side of Leah, who was lost in thought.
"I heard the general story from Caesar. There are humans who live in the mansion, right?"
"Yes, I'm going to look up the life records of those people. It will take a long time to dig through each detail, so let's do our best."
They began searching the mansion in earnest.
First of all, if there was anything related to the mansion's secrets, sacrifices, temples, or the imperial family, it was decided to gather them together and check them all together, regardless of the reason.
Age and Caesar were each left with one room, and Leah was left with the remaining three rooms. Since she had organized all of this and knew where most things were located, she decided to check all three remaining rooms.
The first place she went to was Dadan Groot's laboratory.
He did not stop his research even after coming here, so he left behind research materials.
And fortunately, his records took the form of a diary.
"Next."
Next was Francis' room.
His weapons were kept in the underground armory, but the miscellaneous things he used on a daily basis were organized in a small attic. Strangely enough, he preferred the attic the most in this spacious mansion.
The diary was left on the desk because Leah had organized it last time, and she looked through his things to see if there was anything else.
"After all. It's just a diary. Huh?"
Something fell from clothes. It is a pendant necklace.
'Did he wear something like this?'
Just as she was thinking about it, Leah found a groove and squeezed through it.
Dalkak-
Inside was a portrait of a woman and an inscription.
"To my beloved Francis."
Perhaps the woman in the portrait gave it to him out of affection.
The woman in the portrait was quite beautiful and...
"Golden eyes."
Characteristics of the royal family. She had bright golden eyes.
Leah closed the pendant again and organized Francis's things with more reverence than before.
"As expected, there's nothing special other than this."
Leah took Francis' diary, which she had briefly glanced at before, and headed to the last room, Henri Leifle's room.
"Caesar, that bastard happened to come at that exact moment..."
The last name of the artist Lucian was talking about was 'Leifle'.
They have the same last name and the same artist. Is this really a coincidence?
"Besides, Henri Leifle was the last person to live."
About 50 to 60 years ago. In other words, there may be people who still remember Henri Leifle.
She took out the dusty clothes and rummaged through his belongings.
In fact, there wasn't much he left behind. He did not write a diary, nor did he leave any records, only drawings. Because he only left a picture.
He mainly painted the scenery seen here and occasionally drew self-portraits or fictional characters.
Among them, what stands out the most?
"It must be this one, after all."
The painting is smudged and smeared with hand stains. It was a portrait of a woman.
There was nothing to get from his room, but for some reason, she felt strongly that she needed to get this, so Leah took it down to the first floor.
She's organizing the things packed in the living room on the first floor.
"Why aren't you both coming?"
Age and Caesar did not come. There was no way they, who were in charge of only one room, could not have looked around while she had looked around three rooms.
Moreover, aren't there things in the living room that are presumed to have been brought by them?
Leah stood up and looked around to find them. She soon found them not far away.
