SPMB - Chapter 213

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

Raphael asked to take him in as a servant, but Kanna shook her head.

"I don't have the strength to do that."

Kanna explained her situation to Raphael.

Current position in the Addis family. That she is a despised Princess who has no right to hire as many employees as she wants.

After hearing the story, Raphael seemed to have decided on something.

"I will take you to a better place."

"Nice place?"

"Yes. But I don't have anything now, so just wait a few years. I will prepare to serve you."

It was what she hoped for. Because they can't be together right now anyway.

"Good. I'll wait."

"I won't remember you."

It's not like she can't remember.

Hated and tormented.

Some time from now, the Joo-hwa and the body will switch. It was Joo-hwa, not herself, who met Raphael again.

"Hey. If I forget you, don't be too upset. I will definitely remember you someday."

Raphael's eyes narrowed at those words.

"Is it possible to forget a moment like this?"

"How many years does it take? It can happen if you go through various things in the meantime."

It was a ridiculous story. Raphael had an unforgettable appearance once seen. Aside from his handsome exterior, his unique sensual aura is nowhere to be seen.

But Kanna insisted strongly.

"And I'm not good at remembering people's faces."

Raphael didn't seem to like that. He narrowed his eyebrows slightly.

".... I am an apostatized priest."

"Huh?"

"Apostate priests are rare, so that's all you need to remember."

"..."

Kanna was speechless.

"No way?"

Is that why he insisted on wearing black priestly uniforms?

Even though wearing clothes that revealed his identity made him easier to track down from the Great Temple, he always wore the prison uniform of an apostate priest.

Every moment that came into Kanna's field of vision was like that.

"Raphael."

"Yes."

"I will make it up to you someday."

Making him wait until he turned white, making him wear an apostate priest's uniform, everything.

Raphael slowly lowered his eyes.

"Do as you wish."

***

So she parted ways with Raphael, promising to see each other later.

The road to the stagecoach stops.

'But that person seems to have been following me since a while ago?'

Kanna veered off the road several times, but it still chased her...

'Are he a Black Apostle?'

Or a kidnapper.

The intention of the man secretly following the girl could not have been good.

'Yes, come, come.'

The approaching popularity is getting closer and closer. Kanna took a deep breath and turned around behind her.

No, she said, turning around.

But before that, a carriage stopped in front of her. Suddenly, the window opened.

It was Sylvienne.

He smiled and greeted her.

"What a coincidence. We met again, Young Lady."

His eyes glanced somewhere beyond Kanna, then returned to Kanna.

"If it's okay. I'll take you to the Duke's residence."

It was a good thing. Because Kanna doesn't want to fight and waste her precious blood. She got straight into the carriage.

"It's not my business, but ugly incidents often occur outside the mansion."

Sylvienne spoke in a kind tone.

"Please be careful, Young Lady."

"Yes, I will keep that in mind."

As if there was no further interest, Sylvien did not open his mouth anymore.

Then silence fell. Kanna secretly observed the boy sitting across from her.

Perhaps because he was still young, his face, which had not yet fully grown up, was strangely androgynous, giving off a fairy-like feel.

'What is that?'

Kanna glanced at the book on his lap. The title of the book was "The Unknown World: Does the Eastern Continent Exist?'

'The East Continent has not yet been discovered.'

Does he have the foresight to already be interested?

The moment Kanna lifted her gaze in admiration, she was shocked. His bright blue eyes were piercingly staring at her.

"..."

'Since when have you been watching?'

Although Kanna was surprised, she met his gaze with a calm face. If he had something to say, it was right to say it from the side he was looking at first.

But surprisingly, he did not open his mouth. It was a response she couldn't imagine with his usual polite attitude.

'Why are you doing that?'

After exchanging glances for a while as if in a snowball fight, Sylvienne finally burst out laughing.

"Excuse me, I was rude."

"Yes?"

"Unlike when I saw you before, you had your bangs up."

That's right, bangs. Kanna pulled down her bangs again. It was long enough to almost cover the bridge of her nose.

"Why are you pulling it off?"

Is he asking because he doesn't know? Kanna responded bluntly.

"Because there are many people who feel uncomfortable when they encounter black eyes."

"I'm glad I'm not part of that stupid crowd."

Kanna couldn't believe her ears. What did she hear just now?

"But according to what the Lady said, only a few people have seen those eyes. If so, it would be an honor for me."

Sylvienne spoke casually and lifted up the book. He added, unfolding the middle point.

"The Lady's eyes shine like jewels. So much so that it's hard to take my eyes off it."

Then he started reading the book.

'What... Why is this such an incongruous compliment?'

Kanna was embarrassed.

Sylvien was a person who pretended to be kind and smiled, but she never said anything bold. Kanna can't believe that such appalling praise comes from such a person.

The carriage shook. There was no further conversation beyond that.

Until she reaches Addis.

***

By the time they arrived in Addis, the night was already deep. The gatekeeper looked surprised when Kanna arrived in Duke Valentino's carriage.

"When did you leave?"

Sylvienne heard that, but thankfully she pretended not to hear it and left.

Kanna tried to head straight to the lab. But she stopped when she saw one of the mansion's windows, a room with streaming lights.

'That room...'

The Secret Room' by Alessandro Addis.

That was Alessandro's bedroom in the past, the room he shared with her.

'It looks like he gave it all to Seon-hee later on.'

But now, light was streaming from the window of that room. In that room where entry is prohibited.

'Who went in?'

Kanna thought for a moment and then headed toward that room.

'I understand that Alex is not in the mansion right now...'

In front of the room she arrived at, she carefully turned the doorknob.

As expected, it is open.

Squeaking, the door opened slowly. Only the faint candlelight flickered in the room.

Kanna carefully walked inside, tip-toeing. But soon she stopped.

'Alex?'

Alessandro was there. In front of the window, leaning against a rocking chair with his eyes closed.

'Weren't you in the mansion?'

Everyone probably knows that, but to be in a place like this...

Kanna looked at his face bathed in pale moonlight.

Looking at his eyes closed, it looks like he's sleeping...

There's no way he's sleeping. Because he can't sleep.

The next moment, Kanna's eyes, which were examining him, wavered. Old parchments were scattered across Alessandro's lap.

It was a letter.

A faded letter that seems to have been written a long time ago.

There were characters written that people in this world could never recognize. Kanna held her breath.

She knew what that letter was.

She knew it very well.

At that time, Alessandro's eyelids slowly rose. The eerie eyes turned to Kanna.

"..."

There was silence. Kanna met his gaze, clutching the hem of her skirt tightly.

Despite sneaking into the forbidden room, he was not angry. He wasn't even surprised.

There is no reaction. It was only then that Kanna noticed. A small medicine bottle was placed on the nightstand next to the rocking chair.

"I am..."

While looking at the vial, Alessandro opened his mouth. Kanna looked at him again.

For a moment, Kanna felt like her heart was going to drop.

Those were extremely sad eyes. Sad eyes, something she had never imagined from him.

"I can't."

Kanna mumbled quietly and closed her eyes again.

"Nothing."

"..."

"I am..."

The ends of her words become blurred. Then silence fell again. Kanna approached him very cautiously.

It felt like she was walking on shards of glass that would break at any moment.

He was sound asleep.

'No. He's not asleep."

Kanna noticed the smell flowing from the medicine bottle.

'This is poison.'

Her heart felt cold. This was a very powerful poison.

'Could this be Celia's medicine?'

Kanna bit her lip because she felt like moaning.

'You've been taking this poison?'

It is a poison that forcibly dims consciousness. It must have been forced to blur consciousness for a mind that couldn't rest.

Just like crumpling a clean piece of paper and ruining it.

'If you keep taking it, it will eventually tear.'

Isn't that a side effect of this drug?

'You shouldn't use something like this.'

Of course, Alex and Celia would know. And yet he takes this medicine?

"Alex...."

Kanna called with a trembling voice, but he did not open his eyes. Is the medicine working?

He seemed completely unconscious.

What he just said whose meaning she doesn't know would not have been said in a sane way.

Heat gathered around her eyes. But Kanna endured it, clenching her fists tightly.

It was not he who suffered. It was Alex. So, there is no right to be weak.

Kanna stared at the face of the cursed man. She then lowered her head and kissed his cheek. His skin was as cold as ice.

"Wait just a moment. I will definitely save you."

Because she's the one who put him through hell.
