SPMB - Chapter 152

SPMB - Chapter 152

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

There was a loud noise as the world collapsed.

Everywhere we passed was broken and collapsed. And fires were burning everywhere.

Raphael's arms, back, nape of his neck. his legs stretching out in a stride, brushing against his entire body. I swallowed it.

It was awful, but despite this, there was not a single tremor in the grip holding Kanna.

Kanna watched the scene with wide eyes through a gap in her clothes.

The sight of Raphael being consumed by fire.

***

"People are coming out!"

"Lawmaker! Assemblyman. Come t his way!"

Kanna let out a cough. People were coming.

'Raphael.'

Kanna grabbed Raphael's collar. Her head was spinning. She inhaled too much smoke.

'Raphael.'

I'm like this, but Raphael is even worse.

Maybe I'll die.

"Doctor, this way!"

Kanna's consciousness faded.

'Raphael.'

from Raphael... I held Raphael's clothes tightly. Because I'm fine, therefore.......

But soon the power slipped away from my grasp.

I missed it.

***

While Kanna was unconscious, she was dreaming. It was her old memory. Was it when she was fourteen?

The moment she tried to escape Addis for the first time in her life.

Khanna traveled to and from the slums several times, planning to run away from home. She met a lot of people there.

Half of them were beggars and half were sick. They had no money, food, or medicine to treat their illnesses. All they have is a body waiting for death.

'They're pitiful.'

It was there that Kanna learned compassion for the first time in her life. And from then on, every time she went to the slums, she took food with her and escaped.

It wasn't just food. She brought along a beautiful collection of all kinds of healing medicines she had made. And distributed it to those in need.

Food was distributed to the hungry and medicine to the sick. She has dealt with more people than she can remember.

"Thank you so much, sister. This is the first time in my life I've met such a kind person."

"The little lady is my lifesaver. The world is more beautiful than I thought when you treat me like this without any compensation."

"I was going to die. But you made me want to live."

Countless words of gratitude passed by.

Fourteen years old. That was the first time Kanna sympathized with someone and helped someone. And she heard gratitude for the first time.

"Sister, when I earn a lot of money later, I will definitely pay for your treatment."

"This old man has experienced all these great things in his life. Thank you."

"I want to give my life to you. And one day,  I will return this favor."

It was a very wonderful thing to save someone who was about to die. It was more sacred and wonderful than anything else in this world.

"Certainly."

***

"Raphael!"

For some reason, the moment Kanna came to her senses, that name came out first.

Kanna jumped up from the bed. At that moment, she swallowed her screams as the pain pierced her.

"Sister, are you awake!"

Kalen hurried over. Kanna gasped for air and looked around her. It was her bedroom.

Her legs, arms, and head were bandaged, as if she had been treated for a fallen bird.

"What about Raphael?"

"Yes?"

"The person who saved me."

For a moment, Kalen's face became blurred. He was silent for a moment and then answered slowly.

"I don't know who you are talking about. When I went there, my sister was being treated by doctors."

For a moment, a sense of desperation came over me.

It seemed like that too.

It seemed like he would suddenly disappear without receiving proper treatment or compensation. Because he's always been like that

'Is he okay?'

Kanna felt anxious.

Kanna sent Kalen away with the excuse that she was too tired and asked to be left alone. She hung her handkerchief on the window.

Maybe he won't come.

Because Raphael must have been hurt a lot. No, maybe...

'He might be dead.'

In an instant, fear struck her like lightning.

Kanna's fingertips trembled slightly. She held her breath under the blanket and waited for him.

Every minute and every second was terribly long. It was a painful time. Even into the early morning when everyone was asleep, Kanna waited with her eyes wide open.

How much time has passed like that?

Squeak.

Kanna heard the door opening. Kanna stood up straight away.

"Raphael?"

A tall man stood in the dark.

"Is it Raphael?"

"Yes."

A heavy bass sound. As expected, it is Raphael. Kanna felt a sense of relief as if she was collapsing.

He didn't die.

At least he didn't die.

"Come on. Show me your face."

"You'd better not do that."

"Why?"

"It will be uncomfortable to see."

"Please."

After being silent for a moment, he walked three steps forward. The moment he took his fourth step, moonlight poured in through the window and fell on him

"...!"

Kanna grabbed the blanket tightly.

Raphael's face was distorted. The skin on his chin had melted away, and the nape of his neck seemed to have peeled off,  revealing bright red flesh.

A dizzying burn just to look at. Red scars covered his entire body.

The back of Kanna's hand turned white. That was the only emotion revealed.

She asked calmly with an expressionless face.

"Why didn't you get treatment?"

"If I leave it alone, it will heal on its own."

"Healing on its own, what does that mean?"

"Two days is enough. So don't worry."

It was impossible for an ordinary human being. Raphael casually said something unbelievable.

But what was even more surprising was that he wasn't that interested in what he was saying.

Now her attention was on something else.

"But that doesn't mean there's no pain."

How much did it hurt?

"If the scar starts to form I can't do anything about it. But I can fix it perfectly now, so leave it to me."

"..."

"Come and sit here, huh?"

Fortunately, he complied. Kanna sat down next to him and first looked at the burns on his face. Seeing it up close made it even more gruesome.

Kanna bit her lip as her heart throbbed as if it was being squeezed. And she was deeply relieved.

'Thank God.'

She was very fortunate that she could heal this burn.

Kanna carefully applied medicine to the burns on his face and upper body. Since the lower body was within her sight and reach, she handed over the medicine.

"You can use these three medicines in order. Apply the red medicine first, then the blue medicine, then the white medicine, and then cover it with a bandage. And..."

Kanna's words became blurred.

"Raphael?"

Is he listening properly?

Kanna felt Raphael's gaze staring at her more intensely than ever. Just as she was about to ask.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Raphael stretched out his hand to ward Kanna without warning. Kanna stared blankly at the fingertips approaching her.

For a moment, time seemed to pass slowly.

His hand touched the hair that fell over her shoulder. Just like that, he digs into her hair and gently sweeps it up.

Just as she was panicking, he gently grabbed her hair. And he pulled. Resolute strength without any hesitation. It was like an unspoken command.

For some reason, Kanna couldn't refuse. She didn't even feel like she should refuse, so she just let the force guide her and twisted her head. The solemnly closed lips caught the eye.

For a moment she thought he was going to kiss her. What a foolish misunderstanding it was.

The place where his attention fell was on the nape of her neck. His eyes examine her exposed neck, and her swollen handprints.

It seemed like an eternity, but it was actually a very short moment.

"Who is it?"

Finally, he let go. Her hair was scattered and covered the nape of her neck.

"Who did this?"

Kanna exhaled slowly. And she answered.

"Don't worry. Because he's already dead."

It was a very unfamiliar voice. Even though it is her own voice.

There was silence. In the silence, Kanna lowered her gaze. Is it because she made a very pathetic mistake?

She came to her senses as if she had been hit by something.

Sympathy for Raphael. Sorry. It's a pity.

Kanna feel like she was completely consumed by those emotions and lost herself.

The moment she recognized it, her eyes, which had been wet with vagueness, immediately became cold and dry. She returned to her normal temperature in an instant.

Then she looked at Raphael with a very objective gaze.

This situation, is messed up and distorted.

No matter how many times she saw it, it was still pitiful. And then she realized.

This makes absolutely no sense.

"Raphael, I have a question."

"Please ask."

"If I wasn't the daughter of a spirit, you wouldn't have cared about me, right?"

"No."

"What do you mean it's not?"

"It's not just about that."

It's not just because of that. His extreme politeness is probably because she is the daughter of a divine spirit. So he politely accepts it.

Kanna could understand up to that point, but...

'Risking his life is a completely different story.'

Is he trying to save her life by throwing it away because of that? An apostate priest?

If his faith was more important than his life, Raphael wouldn't have left the Great Temple in the first place.

'Something is strange.'

It didn't fit. Kanna couldn't understand what emotions his actions were motivated by.

Kanna asked while staring at his profile.

"By any chance, have we met a long time ago?"

At that moment, Raphael's eyebrows trembled slightly.

"Did you ever meet Duke Valentino before I married him? Raphael said you left the Great Temple 12 years ago, right?"

At that time, he was fourteen years old. That was when Kanna made plans to run away from home..

"Did you meet me then?"

It was a question suddenly asked. But she wasn't embarrassed. On the contrary, he raised his downcast eyes and greeted her. He stared at her directly in her eyes. Their gaze was deeply intertwined.

Kanna noticed that this messily distorted man was nervous.

"Yes."

"Did I save you?"

He took a deep breath. And he vomited briefly.

"I see."

"Yes."

Suddenly, laughter came out. It was a story like a fairy tale book.

A man who never forgot the rope that came down to him when he was in a corner when he was young.

How can he be so kind? His innocence was pitiful.

"I don't remember you."

"I know."

"Sorry."

"It's okay."

It was so long ago. There were not just one or two people who she helped.

Moreover, the anger of the moment she failed to run away from home overwhelmed everything else. So everything else faded into obscurity.

This man must be somewhere in Kanna's blurred memories.

She can't even remember.

This man walked through hot flames for nothing more than that.

'Pity.'

At that moment, a very drowsy impulse came over her. Should she hold on?

Kanna thought about it for a moment, but it was only a momentary conflict.

Kanna found no reason to endure. She didn't want to endure it.

So she stretched out her hand. She buried her fingers into his hair, just as he had done to her. She pulled him strongly and buried it on her shoulder.

At that moment, Raphael's hand twitched as if he had been electrocuted. Then he became dead quiet again.

Kanna rested her chin on his hair. She whispered softly.

"Thank you."

"..."

"I survived this time thanks to you. Thank you so much."

'But don't risk your life for me again. I am you, you are me.'

Since we exchanged money with each other once, let's assume we don't have any debt anymore, because...

'I'm leaving now.'

And she won't take anything with her. That includes Raphael too.

Kanna swallowed the sincerity that she couldn't bring herself to express. She knew that if she said it, it would be of no use to her.

"With me..."

Raphael, who had no way of knowing this kind of intention, opened his lips. It was a hot voice that seemed to scratch his neck.

"Would you like to leave with me?"
