IELNDMH - Chapter 32 You Left With Adrian?

IELNDMH - Chapter 32 You Left With Adrian?

I Ended Up Living Up Next Door With My Ex-Husband

"The starting price for the transaction is 500,000 Ruts per unit, and the total quantity is 500 units."

The host announced the start of full-scale trading by announcing the starting amount. Then an old gentleman wearing a gray fedora shouted in displeasure.

"What? The starting price of a special carriage that won't even be sold is 500,000 rut! I came here thinking I could at least get the price of junk by paying a cheap price, and hey!"

He shouted irritably and eventually stormed out. As the old gentleman said, that was an excessively high starting price considering the current value of special carriages.

However, it was clear that it was a much cheaper price compared to the ridiculously high price of a regular horse-drawn carriage, which costs over three million ruts per car. Furthermore, the only thing left to do is for the value to soar once the imperial family makes an official announcement.

'That stupid old man.'

Camilla looked at the back of the old gentleman leaving and snorted. Now, the only people left in the trading room were Camilla, Henry, and Grand Duchess Rebecca.

'It's a piece of cake to beat the stupid Grand Duchess.'

Camilla looked at Henry and smiled leisurely.

"This will be ours anyway, so would you like to have a little fun with the bored Grand Duchess?"

Camilla and Henry prepared enough investment money to cover up to 1.5 million ruts per car. According to information received, the amount prepared by Grand Duchess Rebecca was slightly more than 1.3 million ruts per car.

'No matter how much she is the Grand Duchess, she has spent so much money that there is no way she has any funds.'

There is no way His Majesty the Grand Duke would trust a novice like that and provide investment funds.

A wicked smile spread across Camilla's face. Henry would normally have praised her for being cute, but this time his reaction was different. Henry shrugged his shoulders with a very offended expression.

"Do whatever you want, Camilla. My opinion isn't important anyway."

Camilla, who was looking at Henry, elegantly raised the sign.

"Yes, the Lady in the front seat."

"Six hundred thousand ruts."

"600,000 ruts came out. Is there anyone you would like to call higher?"

Grand Duchess Rebecca held up a sign in response to the host's seat question.

"Yes, the woman in the middle."

"650.000 Rut."

Camilla tried to suppress her sneer from escaping.

'Omg, are you calling me with just 50,000 ruts?'

Grand Duchess might be scared because she doesn't have much investment money prepared. In response, Camilla jabbed Henry's side, who still had a dissatisfied expression on his face.

"Henry, why don't you come on and call me the next price? Bid 800,000 ruts."

Henry held up the sign as if he had no choice.

"Yes, the gentleman in the front seat?"

"Eight hundred thousand."

"Yes, eight hundred thousand ruts! Is there anyone next?"

Camilla turned behind her and looked at the Grand Duchess. She was whispering with a blonde man who came with her with a puzzled expression.

"Are you surprised that the amount has risen more rapidly than you expected, Your Highness?"

Camilla snorted her laughter and called the back.

"Here you go. A million ruts."

"Lady in the front, one million ruts!"

According to the script, Henry held up the sign.

"Then 1.2 million."

"Yes, 1.2 million ruts! Are there any more?"

Camilla was certain that victory was coming. The game was over when Grand Duchess Rebecca called in all of the investment money she had prepared, and she had to raise the amount a little more. The winner is herself, and the loser is Grand Duchess Rebecca.

Although she had already decided whether she would win or lose, the process was far from boring and she even felt a deep sense of joy.

"Yes, the woman in the middle seat?"

The host shouted to Grand Duchess Rebecca.

'It looks like we'll get to the last of the investment we prepared.'

It was at that time that the corners of Camilla's mouth slowly curved up.

"1.25 million ruts...."

There was not an ounce of confidence in the Grand Duchess's voice. She looked confused as to whether she could invest such a large amount of money.

'That's right, she will live like she always did, living in luxury and gambling.'

Why is she doing something unbecoming now?

Camilla, who had been mocking and insulting the Grand Duchess, smiled leisurely and held up the sign.

"Yes, the woman in the front seat. How much would you like to charge?"

Camilla took a long, broken breath. She was about to fully enjoy this moment, right before she pressed the Grand Duchess' nose flat. Camilla, catching her breath and savoring her nervousness, soon declared in a voice as elegant as that of a theater actor.

"One and a half million."

The amount is too high for a gift investment for a special carriage. It was a much higher amount than the amount suggested by the Grand Duchess, and was the majority of the investment prepared by Camilla and Henry together, the host shouted, unable to hide her excitement.

"One and a half million ruts! That's amazing!"

Even the host seemed to have no doubt that the winner of this competition was Camilla.

"Is there anyone who might ask for a higher price?"

He seemed to be worried that Camilla might change her mind and rushed to finish her transaction.

"1.5 million ruts! Do you have any more?"

Camilla covered her mouth with her fan because of the smile that kept leaking out.

'As expected, the sky is on my side.'

This was the perfect opportunity to flatten Grand Duchess Rebecca's nose.

"If it doesn't happen this time, I will close the trading session right away. Are you sure you don't have any?"

Camilla waited with bated breath for the moment when the host would announce her victory. The very moment when there was tension in the huge Hestia Hall.

".... Yes? Is that true?"

the host asked, her eyes widening towards the center of the hall.

'No way... '

Camila's face turned her head and became fiercely distorted in an instant.

'Nonsense... As far as I know, the Grand Duchess doesn't have the funds to raise it any further?'

Camilla, biting her lip nervously, calmly shook her head, trying to regain her composure.

'No, even if the Grand Duchess has more money to spare, she can't call her higher than me.'

In fact, before she came here, Camilla had prepared extra personal funds without Henry's knowledge. Of course, she had to resort to usury for it, but if she got the right item, she would be able to repay it in no time.

'I can comfortably call up to 1.8 million ruts per special carriage.'

But the Grand Duchess had to call more.... About 1.6 million ruts?

Kick. It was at that time that a new sneer leaked from Camilla's lips.

"Lady, how much would you like to offer for each unit?"

The host asked Grand Duchess Rebecca, and everyone's eyes turned to the corners of her lips. A moment when an unknown tension filled the hall with silence. Rebecca's voice rang out softly.

"Two million ruts."

The eyes of the people in the hall opened wide at the same time. Surprised, Camilla and Henry muttered loudly to themselves without realizing it.

"This.... Two million ruts?!"

"You want to buy 500 units by investing 2 million ruts per unit? And a special carriage?"

They were not the only ones surprised by the amount, which far exceeded their expectations.

"Madam, two or two million ruts? Of course, once the transaction is confirmed, it cannot be withdrawn... You probably know that, right? Even if the investment amount is insufficient."

The corners of the host's lips trembled as he asked that question. However, Rebecca, who made everyone her flagship, had a carefree attitude.

"Of course. I have absolutely no intention of backing out of the deal. There will be no shortage of investment funds."

Grand Duchess Rebecca's red lips rose in an arc.

"Go ahead and ask other people's intentions. Maybe there's someone who can offer a higher price than me?"

Camilla bit her lower lip in exasperation as she watched the Grand Duchess wink leisurely at her. The host urgently asked Camilla.

"Lady, would you ever consider offering a higher price?"

"... Yes?"

Despite the host's urging, Camilla had no choice but to remain silent. At that moment, Henry's complaint from the seat next to her sharply pierced Camilla's heart.

"Ha... You were so confident and this is what happened."

Camilla, who was glaring at Henry while biting her lower lip, slowly shook her head.

"Give up... I'll do it...."

When Camilla raised the white flag, the host nodded her head in satisfaction. And he announced in a loud voice to the audience.

"Successful bid for 2 million ruts per unit! The special carriage futures transaction has concluded successfully!"

Around the same time, inside the Grand Duke's office.

The workers repeatedly glanced at Cedric and then lowered his head. It was because of his behavior that was somehow different from usual. Cedric always maintains a neat demeanor, but today he often seemed distracted. Just now, Cedric was holding an already empty teacup and preparing to drink it.

The head maid, who could not stand to see him, carefully approached him holding a teapot.

"Well, Your Highness."

"What?"

"I'll give you some more tea.""

"Tea?"

Cedric looked down at his teacup blankly. And when he realized his careless behavior, he stood up with a low sigh.

Cedric, who had been pacing by the window, smoothed his eyebrows and then looked back again. Then, a new, unexpected name flowed from his lips.

"Has Rebecca come back yet?"

In response to Cedric's question, the aide tilted his head with a subtle expression. It was surprising that the question of finding the Grand Duchess came out of his master's mouth, but it was also quite surprising that the same question had already been asked several times.

The aide answered, carefully stepping in front of Cedric.

"Yes. Only ten minutes have passed since you asked, Your Highness."

"...Ah."

Cedric slowly shook his head and said.

'Is that so?'

He muttered.

Then he stepped forward as if he was going back to his office desk. But he soon stopped his steps and looked at the aide again.

"He left with Adrian?"

Likewise, this question is already number one. However, the aide could not hide his bewildered expression as he saw Cedric asking the question as if it were his first time asking it every time.

"Yes, it's just like I said before...."

Only then did Cedric nod his head slowly, as if he remembered the answer he had received from his aide a moment ago.

Finally, he returned to his office desk and sat down to look through some documents.

However, even to the head maid who had no idea about the Grand Duke's work, it was clear that he was only pretending to look at documents. In the end, it wasn't long before Cedric pushed all the documents he was looking at aside.

"... I can't concentrate on work at all."

Cedric, who mumbled, eventually got up from his seat.

"It would be a good idea to at least go for a walk."

As soon as Cedric spoke, the maids hurriedly returned with his coat. The moment she carelessly handed over his coat and was about to leave the office. Cedric's shoes stopped for a moment in front of the door.

"Ah, Lehman."

"Yes, Your Highness."

That's when the aide put his ear to Cedric's gesture to come closer. Cedric asked in a whisper in his characteristic low voice.

"If you want to go to the corner where the Grand Duchess returns.... Where do you think it would be faster to walk?"
