Kanna stood up. She no longer wanted to be in the same space as Sylvien.

"I will fill out the documents at home. If you have anything else to say, send a messenger."

As she swung open the door, she encountered a maid approaching with tea.

Kanna sneered awkwardly.

"I see you brought tea. Is it yours?"

"..."

"I hope you didn't mess with his stuff."

And then she just passed by.

"Tea, tea has been served, Your Excellency."

The maid, who was watching, lowered the teacup onto the table. She nods and leaves.

The sound of Kanna's footsteps moving away. Then, he heard the maid closing the door and leaving. And then it went away. Silence descended.

Sylvien sat quietly and looked ahead. He only stared at the spot she had been in a moment ago, across from him where Kanna had been.

In the thick silence, there was a faint scent of tears.

Sylvien didn't move for a very long time. He was as unwavering as a breakwater that withstood the constantly surging waves.

Then at some point, Sylvien stretched out his hand. He passed his own and lifted Kanna's teacup. He took a sip.

After pushing the tea that was on the tip of his tongue to the back of his throat, Sylvien lowered the teacup again.

His lips were twisted.

They made it. It was extremely salty.

"Where are you?"

While Kanna was walking quickly, I ran into Josephine. But Kanna passed by without even listening.

"Kanna! Now an elder is talking..!"

A hand that grabs her shoulder. Kanna frowned and turned her body around.

"Don't touch my body."

Then Josephine snorted.

"If that's the case, you shouldn't have come to my mansion in the first place. How dare you come crawling here?"

Josephine had been waiting for this day. The day she met Kanna. When she thinks about the humiliation suffered by that girl, a fire still boils inside her.

How dare she humiliate her in front of the Princess, turn the family into a mess, and then come in and tell her what this place is!

"I threw away all your things. So don't come here again!"

"The mistress of the Valentino family bought the goods with Valentino's money, so of course they are mine, and..."

Kanna took a step forward. Completely taken aback, she glared straight at Josephine and laughed.

Kanna spoke bitterly.

Is it because of the aftereffects of the harsh emotions she expressed to Sylvien, or is it because of the numerous hardships Joo-hwa went through?

Kanna feels like he's going to get angry and turn away. She no longer wanted to sound noble or elegant.

"You are the one who is cocky. What was your maiden name? I don't even remember. From what I can see, it must be a little, shabby family."

"You..!"

"So, I understand that you're struggling somehow. You don't have a husband, your new son is indifferent, and your mother's family is shabby, so now you have to go to the back room and embroider by yourself, right?"

"How dare you! Keep your mouth shut!"

Josephine's lips trembled. And then she raised his hand. Kanna roughly grabbed the wrist that was being thrown down. And she twisted her wrist tightly.

"I'm sorry, but I won't accept you so gently anymore."

"Hey, let go of this! What are you guys doing! Hurry up and catch her!"

Josephine struggled and shouted at the employees around her.

"Hurry and catch Kanna!"

"B-but Ma'am..."

"Right now! If you don't listen, I will kick you out!"

At the threatening order, the servants came and grabbed Kanna's arms. Finally, her grip broke away. She felt hot and painful in her heated wrist.

How dare she do something like that!

Josephine slapped Kanna on the cheek.

"You cheeky thing. Say it again!"

Once again, she slapped the other cheek. However, Josephine's anger did not subside and she shouted.

"Get out now! Never come back to this mansion again!"

Kanna burst out laughing. She then twisted her body and violently shook off her grasped arm.

It must have been difficult to hold her by force, so the servants hesitated and let go.

And at that moment, Kanna slapped Josephine in the face.

Josephine's face suddenly turned.

The air froze for a moment. She could feel everyone around her being surprised. But instead of stopping, Kanna slapped her on the other cheek again.

And a deathly silence followed. Not only the employees but even Josephine was so shocked that she couldn't say anything. Josephine caressed her cheek and slowly gazed at Kanna. She couldn't believe this situation.

"You... You're crazy."

Josephine's voice trembled. Blood flowed from her torn lip.

"Yes. That's right. There's no way I'm still sane with people like you all around me."

"Even after all this... Do you think you'll be safe after doing this?" 

"We'll have to wait and see whether I'll be safe or not. But one thing is clear."

Kanna took a step closer. Then Josephine stepped back. Goosebumps rose up Josephine's back. 

Kanna, who was approaching with a bright smile, looked really crazy!

"If you touch my body one more time, it won't end like this."

"..."

"How far do you think I can go? If you're curious, hit me again. Because I'm a person who doesn't have much to lose anyway." 

At that time, Kanna's eyes turned to Josephine's back.

Sylvien was coming down the stairs. I could feel the employees becoming very nervous once again at his appearance.

"..."

Sylvien stared at Kanna's red, swollen cheeks with an expressionless face. 

Since Kanna didn't want to be here anymore, she turned her back and left.

“Si, Sylvien!”

Josephine beat her chest as if she felt aggrieved.

"Did you see it? "Kanna used violence against me!"

"Yes. I saw it."

Sylvien answered coldly. In response, Josephine shed tears.

"How can she commit such immoral behavior? She's ignoring me because I don't have a husband! If your father was alive..."

"Well."

Sylvien cut off Josephine's words.

It was a voice that was even heartless.

"It seems like the Countess has reaped what she has given."

"... What?"

Could it be that he is trying to take Kanna's side?

Josephine's mouth opened at those words.

Josephine's voice continued behind him.
