DYBAR - Chapter 62 < Precious Things That Have Finally Found Their Face #2 >

Do Your Best And Regret It

"It's the perfect size."

I felt a little strange even as I spoke. The ring was the perfect size for my finger, as if he had it custom-made.

"That's right, it's a ring meant for just one person."

Edwin rolled his eyes and smiled as if it was obvious. I avoided my gaze as soon as I made eye contact with him. A warm feeling rose up to my cheeks. How much time will have to pass before I can face those friendly gazes without any problem?

I chuckled as I remembered his red eyes, which made my heart tingle and beat loudly just by looking at them. With Edwin in front of me, I think about Edwin again. If I see him often anyway, I will eventually get used to it.

I shook my head and held out my hand towards Edwin.

"Edwin doesn't have a ring? I'll put it in for you."

I thought he would smile brightly and quickly hand out the ring as if he had been waiting. Unexpectedly, Edwin faced me with eyes full of regret.

"Can you wait just three more days and say it again?"

"Yes?"

"Well, the gift ring is still being crafted. I will ask them to bring it to me within three days at most, so can you wait just three more days?"

Bethany, behind them, looked at Edwin with a face full of things to say, but Edwin paid no attention and had an earnest look on his face.

I said as I gently lifted the ring on my finger.

"What about this?"

Edwin smiled at my question, which seemed natural to the marriage proposal culture in a system where a marriage proposal ring was also a wedding gift ring.

"As I said, this is a wedding proposal ring. It's my favorite ring, so whenever I meet someone I really like, I want to propose to them right away with this ring."

Someone I truly like. I thought for a moment about the first time I saw that ring in Madame Deaton's boutique.

"How did you know that ring was yours?"

Also,

"It's really late, but the lady said she wants it, so I'll think about it again."

When Edwin once again took out a ring in the carriage that took me to the Duke of Madeleine's residence.

"Finally, this ring is back in its rightful place."

And now. The ring that spun around was finally put on my finger. Without me noticing, I ran my other hand over the ring. Edwin's eyes were slowly widening at the careful gesture as if it were important.

I suddenly raised my head.

"I really like this ring, but..."

Edwin's heart sank as Olivia began to speak hesitantly. Is there perhaps something wrong with the ring?

Or maybe she just didn't like the ring.

However, Edwin burst into laughter without realizing it at my answer.

"Well, what should I do if I want to wear a gift ring?"

I glanced at Edwin's left hand. Unlike my own hands, his hands were devoid of any jewelry, which was proof to anyone that he was unmarried. It was fun just to imagine wearing a ring like mine on Edwin's hand. So it wasn't a problem to wait three days, three weeks, or even three months. The wait to wear the same ring will actually fill me with excitement. But even though I could wear the same ring, I couldn't take off this red gem ring.

“Ha ha ha.”

I glanced at Edwin at the sound of wonderful laughter.

"Why are you laughing."

The trap was that even those pale eyes gently curved the moment Edwin made eye contact.

"Then we can put them together."

"Yes?"

Olivia's eyes widened like a rabbit. The moment he saw her lovely face, Edwin unconsciously gave strength to her hand that held Olivia's hand. His young lady truly made him feel helpless at every moment. Despite the drowsy heat, Edwin smiled as if nothing had happened.

"... I'm going to be putting rings on all ten fingers soon, so I think I'm practicing in advance, Olivia."

"You're kidding, right?"

"That can't be right."

Edwin smiled brightly and spoke clearly, adding as if he were acting.

"Oh, it's already night. I will escort you to bed."

It was deep at night. When he reached the door, Edwin stopped with a gentlemanly look on his face.

"Have a good night, and see you tomorrow morning."

Thoughtfully, Edwin, who always volunteered to be an escort in front of the door, did not always enter the door. Oh, just once. Except when I revealed that I had a White Crystal Mine, and Bethany fell down in front of me, really.

Normally, I would have entered the room around this time, but today, strangely enough, I didn't want to let go of this hand. So, instead of going into the door that Bethany opened, I stared at Edwin's face. His most beautiful face in the world smiled as if my gaze was blissfully satisfied.

"Why don't you go in and look at it like that?"

Unlike his languid voice, his deep, sunken eyes stared at me. My gaze slowly moved down and stopped in his strangely deepening mood. Well-shaped red lips. Without even realizing where my gaze was heading, I kept looking at Edwin's lips. My palms and the inside of my wrists seemed to be heating up, and I was satisfied with the way I was now, filled with a hot feeling.

In an instant, the memory of walking all night in the cave, holding his hand, flashed through my mind. I was like that at that moment too. I didn't want to let go of his hands all night.

At that moment, Edwin's lips slowly fell.

"If you keep looking at me like that, I think I'll be here forever?"

Naively, Edwin didn't seem to even want to come inside the door. The moment I realized that a blush appeared on my cheeks.

"Oh, is it hot? Your cheeks are red."

Edwin, who was asking curiously, placed his finger on my cheek with a careful gesture. The heat of his fingers that brushed past me stuck to my cheeks, making them blush even more.

I said, hastily letting go of Edwin's hand.

"Yes. It's a bit hot. Sleep well too, Edwin."

"You must have forgotten something."

It was Edwin who caught me, who wanted to go into the room right now. I forgot. I can't remember anything like that. I, who wanted to hide what I was thinking, rolled my eyes wide in embarrassment. Edwin, who was leisurely watching the scene, curled the corner of his eyes at me and smiled. And in an instant, he brought his body closer to me.

Hook, my body tensed as soon as his refreshing scent hit me. Edwin came right in front and whispered sweetly.

"We are now in a relationship where light kisses are allowed after saying goodnight. Yes?"

The voice made the fur around my ears stand up, and tension ran down my spine. But Edwin could only look at me with his gentle face. As if he couldn't do anything without my permission. My heart was pounding like it was going to explode.

I saw his red lips, which I had only been looking at a moment ago, more clearly. And finally, I gently nodded my head, as if under his spell. His red eyes, which were smiling seductively, were shining with an angry expression.

The moment Edwin approached me, I closed my eyes tightly. Just as I was waiting for him, his soft, melting lips kissed my cheek. The gentle kiss on my cheek fell before I even opened my eyes.

"Good night."

Edwin, smiling brightly, took a step away from the door.

Now... What happened?

I blinked my big eyes. While all of this felt blank, Bethany closed the door. Only when Edwin could no longer be seen did I absentmindedly stroke my cheek. There wouldn't have been a trace of his lips, but the part where Edwin kissed me was hot.

My eyes kept lingering on the door out of a strange sense of regret. At that moment, a small laugh was heard cutting through the silence.

Oh, Bethany!

Only then did I come to my senses and my face turned bright red.

"I didn't see anything."

Bethany's singing voice was filled with laughter. But I didn't know what to do with my embarrassment. Normally, I would have changed into my pajamas and written a diary, but then went to bed because of Bethany's nagging.

My mind went blank. Without even thinking about what to do, I went straight to bed. Even though I didn't just have to hide my head like a bird, I pulled the blanket all the way up to my head.

"Miss, what about pajamas?"

Bethany, who was speaking, also seemed to know that I would not come out of the blanket. Instead of hiding her laughter, she could be heard rushing out of my room without calling me any further.

Inside my room alone, I, barely able to get my feelings together, pulled my blanket down under my face. Was it because I was trapped under the blanket, or was it really Edwin's fault?

I felt the warmth that touched my cheek spread to every corner of my body. U quietly looked down at the ring. And then I placed my hand, with the ring on it, over my heart. The sound of my heartbeat was above the silence in my room.

When my heart is satisfied, this delightful feeling I can feel. The happiness that had enveloped me as I strode forward rushed to me. I was able to bring my happiness so close to me.

smiled brightly, as if I was enjoying it.

Meanwhile, Bethany, who had left Olivia's room, showing her frustration, looked at the Grand Duke at the door, as if she had expected it. The Grand Duke, who had escorted the Young Lady like a gentleman just a moment ago, looked at the door Bethany had come out of with completely sunken eyes.

If he looks at it like that, this solid door will break through. It was clear that something had happened in the restaurant earlier.

Bethany, who was smiling happily, said to the Grand Duke.

"Oops. By the way, Your Highness. You said you would bring the ring in three days."

They probably haven't even been able to dig up the gems yet. Bethany remembered what the Grand Duke had said to Baron Stone, the head of the mines.

"This is the ring that my most precious Lady in the world will wear. I have no doubt that the Viscount will bring you the best diamonds."

It was my first time seeing the Grand Duke speak so kindly. There were also rumors that the circumference of Baron Stone's stomach had already shrunk by several inches, as he was delighted to repay his trust.

It's the best diamond. Bethany shook her head at the sight of the Grand Duke not considering that he had already given the best pink diamond to the Young Lady last time. But that was all.

In Bethany's mind, Olivia was already a very precious person who should wear a ring made of the finest jewels.

"Three days is right. After tonight, it will be two days."

"Yes?"

Bethany, lost in thought, thought she had heard wrong. However, Edwin chuckled as if Bethany's reaction was amusing.

"Why are you so surprised? Isn't two days enough time to get the ring?"

"Have you heard any news from Baron Stone yet?"

"There is no need to have just one ring as a gift."

"Yeah......"

Bethany answered without thinking, and a smile of understanding spread across her lips. And she too looked for a moment into the Lady's room.

The precious Young Lady was planning to wear a ring full of gorgeous jewels on all ten fingers.

"I will contact Baron Stone right away and have him select the engraved rings."

"Leave it to Dean to bring it."

"To Dean?"

Not to Howard, who always entrusts work, but to Dean, who is in charge of escorting the Young Lady?

Seeing her puzzled gaze, the Grand Duke shook his head and grumbled.

"That guy (Howard) is a lot more charming than I thought, so I can't do that. When I go out, he rarely leaves my girl's side."

And he took the first step.

A happy smile slowly appeared on Bethany's face as she looked at his tall figure walking with great strides.

She thought that today she would have a lot to tell to the Princess in the portrait.
