DYBAR - Chapter 61 < The Precious Things That Have Finally Found Their Place #1 >
Do Your Best And Regret It
Evening time with the sunset shining through the window.
"... Did I hear wrong? You're reserving a magic seal."
Edwin, sitting across from me in the restaurant, laughed as if he had heard a funny joke. I, wearing an ivory dress, said with a grin.
"You heard correctly."
A slight look of embarrassment passed over Edwin's face at my immediate denial. It was rare for the always relaxed Edwin to react like that. So my mischievous feelings would creep into me whenever Edwin was embarrassed or shy. But I was a little different now. Such a shocked reaction to the fact that the White Crystal Mine was his mother's memento and Lowell's treasure that he so desperately wanted to recover... thought he would be very happy.
Just like when he looked overwhelmed after finding out about the mine yesterday.
I said, trying hard to suppress my disappointment.
"I'll tell you again exactly. By placing a reservation in the magic seal, on the day we get married, the White Crystal Mine will automatically become jointly owned by Grand Duke Vikander and his wife. It's like a long time ago when royal families got engaged."
The method I came up with appeared in old books, such as the 'one-year grace' to prevent me and Edwin from getting married. I turned my head for a moment to look at Bethany standing behind me.
"...Of course, Bethany, the 'Wizard of the North', will have to help."
"If it's what you do, I'm welcome to do anything."
Bethany smiled brightly. This was exactly the reaction I expected. While she smiled a little at my relief, Bethany quickly glanced at Edwin. She meant, 'Why don't you just accept it?', but Edwin couldn't laugh easily.
Bethany hoped she would sleep well. She immediately dismissed any thoughts of handing over the White Crystal Mine to him and wished herself only good dreams.
However. The moment he saw Olivia with her excited face talking about giving him the White Crystal mine, he tightened his grip on his hand under the table. He felt dizzy and couldn't stand it. Olivia was embarrassed by the gifts he was giving her, but he did not spare anything for the people of Jeniv Street.
Liv Green, a strange supporter who sent him every little thing on the battlefield, and despite her stiff tone, was very concerned and affectionate. His Young Lady, who was always straightforward, looked at him this time with an expectant look on her face, waiting for an answer. The connected thoughts gradually formed a puzzle.
The moment Edwin faced the completed painting, he was out of breath. Because it was Olivia, who always sacrificed everything for her family and the Prince, who was not even human.
Edwin's heart sank. Could it be that she feels burdened by the way he treats Olivia and is trying to be nicer to him?
It was when Edwin suddenly raised his head to look at Olivia.
"Excuse me?"
The friendly voice was too close. Edwin's eyes widened at Olivia's face right in front of him. Olivia's gaze was slightly higher than that of Edwin, who was sitting in his chair. Olivia laughed a little because the feeling of her looking down at Edwin, who always looked up at him, was unfamiliar to her.
"You're so thinking that you don't even know I'm coming."
In addition, Bethany, Sir Interfield, and the employee who was standing behind were bitten.
His expression darkened as if he had heard a sad story rather than a gift. I swallowed my words. Indescribable emotions were flowing through his red eyes as he looked up at me. Because his eyes were dull and heavy, unlike his usual look at me, which was always affectionate, and sometimes covetous.
I quietly waited for Edwin to speak. Soon Edwin slowly opened his lips.
"Me? Olivia, why are you always trying to give?"
I was momentarily embarrassed and asked, pointing to myself. A dress, jewelry, a place to return to. It was actually me who only received it from him. I couldn't understand what Edwin meant.
"The White Crystal Mine belongs to Olivia. You don't have to transfer it to me so easily or to make it joint ownership right away."
However, the moment I heard Edwin's soft voice, I felt like I had glimpsed just a little bit into Edwin's inner thoughts.
"...It's entirely Olivia's responsibility."
My complete share. The things Edwin always wanted to give me.
While Edwin was speechless for a moment, I bit her lip. No matter how hard I tried to control myself, it was too much for me to bear. I wanted to talk about the day Jeniv Street was completed. I didn't know I was this impatient. I felt like I couldn't get over this feeling that came to me without saying it.
I suddenly grabbed Edwin's hand. Edwin looked at me with a little surprise at the sudden warmth.
"Is it so? I.....I thought I was taking after Edwin."
Is it because of nervousness or anticipation? I felt like my lips were dry. Good thing I bit people in advance.
I slowly opened Edwin's hand, which I was holding, and exposed his palm. The moment my heart pounded as if it was going to explode I looked at his large, firm hand that obediently obeyed my will. I looked straight into Edwin's eyes and kissed the palm of his hand. His palm trembled slightly as it touched my lips.
This hand is so heartbreaking and I desperately want to touch it. We finally met each other today. I parted my lips, hoping that my confession would be fully conveyed.
".... I am also earnestly requesting it."
"You knew, did you? What does it mean to kiss the palm of your hand?"
The meaning of a kiss on the palm. I ask you earnestly. I spoke in a relaxed tone to Edwin's deep voice.
"You really thought I didn't know yet? You are quite naive, Your Highness."
Edwin really didn't seem to know. The initial purpose of why I always visited the library. Before Jeniv Street, what was more important to me was Edwin. Looking at the beautiful face with a mix of confusion and joy, I pulled Edwin's hand once again. I rolled up the sleeves of his white shirt. And when Edwin's wrist was exposed, I spoke each syllable with sincerity.
"...... And, I crave and hope for it like this. You are the most precious."
"I am always a greedy person. Isn't it natural that I am full of precious things that can only be obtained with the greatest effort?"
The meaning of a kiss on the wrist.
I desire you.
The pulse touching my lips was extremely hot. I kissed it for a long time as if imprinting me on that pulse. I then parted my lips and naturally placed my fingers on Edwin's hand. Edwin's red eyes became darker as he looked at me.
Above the restaurant, only the sound of each other's slow breathing was heard.
"...I feel the same way as Edwin."
My small, delicate hand wrapped in Edwin's hand twitched. This was not a dream or a fantasy.
"I want to look better. I want you to think of me more. That's why I want to give more."
When he realized that this lovely woman who wanted to look good for him was real. Edwin's heart was pounding too loudly for him to bear.
A lovely blushing face faced him and said.
"What you most precious want."
"What you desire most preciously."
The moment the words he said came to mind clearly above Olivia's words, Edwin held his breath without even realizing it. Olivia's shy expression is evident, but she doesn't let go of his hand or gaze. The girl in front of him was proudly declaring to him. It's the same feeling he had when he fell helplessly in love with Olivia.
"...... So, are you going to refuse my gift like this?"
"Tell me again."
Edwin said to me with a squeeze. It could have been a plea for this unbelievable moment to last forever. I also love him a lot...
"I like it, Edwin."
A voice full of shame but confident. The trembling sincerity in that voice reached him. Edwin, who had been holding his breath, began to breathe again throughout his entire body.
I met Edwin's red eyes. All of Edwin's gaze on my body was tickling and good. I don't know about Edwin, but it was all thanks to Edwin that I could say this. My expectations and hopes, which Edwin had planted and sprouted, have grown completely. So I could say.
"With all my heart."
I truly love you, who shines brightly.
It was that moment. Our joined hands were pulled tightly together, and soon his hot body was embracing me. Edwin's gesture of putting his arms around me tightly was speaking to me.
"Me too, Olivia."
A warm and wonderful voice reached my ears and was directed towards me. And the moment I heard those words, I felt like I could bet my life that my expectations would never be trampled upon again.
"I like you very much."
Even though I knew that, I somehow felt like crying. I hugged Edwin tightly. Heart sounds that were indistinguishable from each other filled the right side of each person's chest...

"Before applying the magic seal, you two need to sign first."
The drawing room on a dark evening. Bethany looked at the two people in front of her with suspicious eyes. His Highness the Grand Duke looked at the Young Lady lazily as if he were going to eat her.
"I would like everyone to leave for a moment."
Just as the Young Lady said, who took advantage of His Highness's thoughts to bite everyone, he only left the restaurant for a moment.
But when they returned, the inside of the restaurant was filled with a strangely heated air. Naturally, Bethany looked at the two of them with a sinister expression. The sight of the two of them sitting facing each other was almost as good as Bethany had expected before leaving the restaurant.
"I'll bring you dessert."
Bethany pretended like nothing was wrong and looked at the two of them carefully. The girl's hair was disheveled as she looked at the distance away, as if embarrassed, and the front hem of His Highness's shirt, which was always properly ironed, was wrinkled.
Bethany's happy expression momentarily distorted. Strangely enough, his face was so normal. Even the lipstick lightly applied to the Young Lady's lips showed no signs of smearing. Bethany sure something happened...
Did nothing really happen as it seemed?
Two people of that energetic age, really? Nothing? Without knowing anything about Bethany's feelings, Olivia looked at the documents with nervous eyes.
"Sleep, Olivia."
Edwin's brightly smiling eyes are so kind today. As soon as I received the papers, I wrote my name next to Edwin's.
-Olivia.
Looking at my own name, which now had no last name, I glanced at Edwin's name.
- Edwin R. Vikander.
A pleasant tension passed through my body as I thought that that last name would soon be added to my name. I, who was looking at Edwin's handwriting, paused for a moment. It felt like I had a sense of déjà vu, but I brushed it off. thinking it must be because I was nervous. With good timing, Bethany called me.
"Did you write everything down?"
"Yes."
Bethany looked at my name for a moment and then shrugged. Then she made a magic seal and spoke as if making a declaration.
"With this, on the day you two get married, this White Crystal Mine will also automatically be transferred to the couple's joint ownership."
Bethany's solemn words felt like the final words of the wedding vows.
The reason I keep feeling so embarrassed even about trivial things is probably because I confessed to Edwin a little while ago.
"It's all over, shall we go to sleep?"
I tried my best to not make it awkward, but the words that came out of my mouth were hard for anyone who heard them. Edwin smiled slowly as he looked like he didn't know what to do now that the courageous way he had spoken to me had gone.
"I have to take this."
Then he took a ring case out of his pocket and opened it. Strangely enough, when the familiar case opened, I let out an exclamation without realizing it. That was Edwin's ring that I had seen at Madame Deaton's boutique. It's also a wedding proposal ring.
Edwin naturally took my hand and put it on my fourth finger, holding a ring with a red jewel that shimmered as if on fire. I blinked my eyelashes slowly. An Ivory dress, documents signed by me and Edwin at the same time, and even a ring to propose. It's really funny.
The moment I thought this felt like an engagement ceremony, Edwin whispered sweetly.
"Finally, this ring is back in its rightful place."
This chapter was too sweet 😍
I agree ☺️! Once again thanks for all your hard work. At least Edwin has the common sense to question why Olivia is always giving her best to him. He reflected if it was right to receive the gift of the mine, or if Olivia was simply used to giving everything of herself to receive affection. If that was the case he wanted to put a stop to it. Which is commendable as he would be giving up the thing he wanted most. Also I had to laugh at the low key burn on the prince. As of now the only people who have shown true regret and are trying to make amends is her younger sister. Looking forward for the rest of them to wake up.
