IDMH - Chapter 20

I Decided My Husband

When I heard his voice, I stopped dead in my tracks.

May suddenly stopped and looked at me. That's how it happened.

I finally realized why May had suddenly invited me to take a walk.

She must have been ordered by the Emperor to bring me to the garden so that Chernosor and I could meet.

Or maybe Chernosor gave the order to Mei directly.

Anyway, I felt really bad when I realized that there was a shady plan other than the one that suggested it out of her pure heart.

It felt even worse that Chernosor and the Emperor were included in the scheme.

However, I had no intention of saying anything to May.

As a mere maid, she did not dare to refuse the royal family's orders and her only crime was to follow them.

If I want to be angry, I should take it directly to the Emperor or Chernosor. More than that, I thought he wouldn't come near me for a while because of what happened on the train with Count Martina, but he's already shown up.

Does he have no pride as a member of the royal family?

Although it was absurd, I was curious about how Chernosor would turn out.

To blame me for daring to trick him and bring me here, I decided to meet Chernosor.

I walked back and May followed behind me, visibly relieved.

"I told you not to be noticed, right?"

As we went, Chernosor's voice continued to be heard.

"You look at my words with such contempt. Otherwise, there's no way you keep appearing in front of me like this."

Puck, puck.

A voice full of anger and a sound like something hitting something echoed through the forest.

May, who noticed that Chernosor was not in good condition, blocked my path as if to tell me not to go any further, but I ignored it and kept walking.

"I'm already so annoyed by that crazy bitch..."

When I spoke, Chernosor looked at me in surprise. It was as if he had seen a ghost.

"H-Young Lady?"

I ignored Chernosor and looked back at the boy sitting in front of him with his head down.

From the way Chernosor started talking, I guessed that he wasn't alone, but there were other people as well.

Her pitch-black hair, as if it had melted the night sky, had grown so thick that it even covered her eyes. The clothes she was wearing looked luxurious, but that was it. It must have been old, worn out here and there, and didn't fit the boy's body. It didn't seem like the clothes were originally made for him.

Moreover, the arms exposed by the short sleeves were full of bruises and wounds.

'Is this a child who was beaten?'

The teachers of the royal family did not dare to touch the bodies of the royal family, so if they had a poor attitude in class or did not do their homework, they would beat a child of a similar age instead of the student.

That child was the one who had been beaten. As he was a minister of the imperial family, he was selected from among the children of nobles with a name of their own, even if they were not high-ranking nobles.

So that child will not be the one who was beaten.

Seeing that he is not dressed as a servant, it seems that he is not a servant either. Then who is it?

The boy looked at me, probably feeling my gaze.

Golden eyes could be seen at a glance through the hair that had grown long enough to cover the eyes.

Same eye color as Chernosor.

The only people who could have brilliant golden eyes that embraced the sun were the royal family.

That means that the boy is a member of the royal family.

'Nonsense.'

If the fabric of his clothes were not of high quality, his appearance was so shabby that you could believe he was a street outcast, but that boy is a member of the royal family.

I couldn't believe it, I couldn't believe it!

At the same time, one person came to mind.

An ill-fated Prince born from a one-night stand with the Emperor.

The 4th prince was called a half-punchman, an idiot, and an idiot more often than a Prince.

Perdes de Vincent Athanasius.

As I was staring blankly at the boy, Chernosor slowly covered him.

"You came earlier than I expected, Young Lady. I was waiting."

"I don't know why His Highness the Noble Prince was waiting for a crazy bitch like me."

"Well, it seems there was a misunderstanding!"

Chernosor shouted, fidgeting.

"That was not a reference to a Young Lady,"

"Then who was it?"

"That...!"

Silly Chernosor. If you're going to make an excuse, you have to do it properly.

I snorted and approached the boy. As I approached, the boy flinched and sat back slightly.

Looking closely, the boy's condition was more messed up than I thought.

If I hadn't looked into those eyes, I would never have thought this boy was a Prince.

I was still in a state of doubt.

I don't know if the boy is really the Prince, but I have to save him first.

I felt uncomfortable leaving the injured child behind, and I held out my hand because I thought I could give Chernosor more trouble if I took the boy with me.

"Can you stand up?"

Considering the fact that the boy might be a real Prince, I used appropriate honorifics.

The boy looked at me as if he was amazed, then shook his head and stood up.

Even though he is small and thin, he has a stronger grip than I expected. The boy's height did not even reach my chest.

It may be that I am not short, but considering Prince Perdes' age, the boy was too short.

Prince Perdes is 16 years old, two years younger than me. Even if he wasn't tall enough, he had to be taller than my shoulders.

Then, isn't he the Prince?

I guess it doesn't matter.

I took off my shawl and covered the boy, then held his shoulder and turned him around.

"Lady Leopold!"

Chernosor called me in confusion from behind, but I completely ignored him.

Likewise, I ignored May, who was at a loss and left the garden with the boy.

***

Chernoser, who had let Adele go in vain, sat down on the floor in despair.

In his mind, he clearly pictured Daimon being angry upon hearing this news.

His stomach tingled at the thought of seeing that sight again. The wound on his head, which had been broken by Daimon's ink bottle, seemed to be throbbing even more.

"What do we do?"

How can he avoid the Emperor's wrath?

Chernosor thought as he bit his cleanly cut fingernails, but no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn't think of a good solution.

If he asks his mother, the Empress, for help, he may be able to avoid immediate disaster, but there will be repercussions.

And the Empress' help had to be reserved for the worst. He couldn't waste it on something trivial like this.

"This is all because of that half penny."

It would have gone as planned if that Banpoon hadn't suddenly appeared.

The person who ordered May to bring Adele to the Garden of the Four Seasons was none other than Chernosor.

I had called her here following Daimon's orders to somehow win Adele's favor by this evening and attend the dinner together. Regardless of age or gender, anyone who saw the Garden of the Four Seasons for the first time was mesmerized by its beauty and could not escape it.

The same goes for Adele.

His plan was to apologize to her for what happened on the train and to win her over by praising her, as she was mesmerized by the beauty of the garden and was in a good mood.

Yes, that was the plan, but it all went to waste when Banpoon appeared.

This is all because of that half penny. Chernosor gritted his teeth. If it weren't for him, if it weren't for that bastard, he would have been able to win Adele's favor as planned!

“Aaaah!”

Chernosor shouted, shaking his head.

"I won't leave you alone, you son of a bitch!"

Swearing words that were too embarrassing to say reverberated throughout the Garden of the Four Seasons like an echo.

***

I have met all the royal family members at least once in my life, but I have never seen the 4th prince.

Although he was recognized as a member of the royal family at all.

He did not attend various banquets or even his wedding to Chernosor in my first life.

So, because I didn't know the 4th Prince's face, I couldn't be sure if this boy was really the 4th Prince.

Looking at the brilliantly sparkling golden eyes and shabby demeanor, it seems to be true.

Looking at his height and build, I don't think so.

"Miss, did you have a nice walk..."

"Huh!"

I was curious about which one it was, but my curiosity was resolved when I saw the reaction of the maid who was running towards me.

This boy is the 4th Prince. If not, the maid couldn't have been that surprised.

"You are the 4th Princess, right?"

I asked to be more specific, and the boy smiled brightly and nodded.

Anyone could see that the boy was lacking in laughter, even when the situation was not at all laughable, or he could not stay still and kept moving his body.

I could immediately understand why he was nicknamed the crazy idiot Prince.

The boy was still mentally unstable, and with no one to take care of him, his behavior was worse than that of a street vagabond.

The fact that the 4th Prince was much shorter than average was probably due to him not eating properly.

I briefly heard that there was a stable keeper named Jack nearby, but there was nothing a stable keeper could do.

Thinking about the 4th Prince's situation, I felt a little sorry for him.

My sympathy for the 4th Prince grew even more when I saw his pitiful body covered in wounds.

He probably wasn't born like this because he wanted to be, but everyone thought it was too much.

"You there."

I gave an order to the maid who came to call me but stopped when she saw the 4th Prince.

"Go to the kitchen and get something to eat."

"Something to eat?"

"Okay. Bring fruit or bread that can be eaten for a long time. Also brought medicine to treat the wound."

The maid immediately realized why I had given this order and looked at the 4th Prince.

It was a very disrespectful look that meant it was a waste to bring food for a guy like that, but the 4th prince couldn't help but laugh because it was so good.

"What are you doing if you don't go quickly?"

When I spoke angrily on behalf of the 4th Prince, the maid hurriedly ran towards the kitchen.

"Is that crazy bitch me?"
