SPMB - Chapter 76
My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone
Ugh. Kanna swallowed her moans inside her. She barely lifted her heavy eyelids.
'How many days has it been?'
It must have been about three days since she came to her senses. It only hurt that much and it was poison.
Ugh. It was stronger than she thought.
'I didn't know it would hurt this much."
But...
Kanna grinned. The poison seemed to have done its job as she saw Kalen dozing off while sitting on the bedside chair with his arms crossed. It was then. Did he sense a presence? Kallen lifted his face.
"Are you awake? Can you hear me? Please answer me."
Kallen's complexion turned pale.
"Wait a moment, just a moment. I'll call the doctor."
Soon, a doctor came in and announced that Kanna had fully recovered.
"But there may be aftereffects, so you need to take care of yourself for a while."
Kallen's relieved expression at that time. Kanna suppressed her sneer.
'I didn't know it would work this far.'
It was a good thing she took poison and stood in the rain.
'Because it's a poison with no aftereffects. If I suffer for a few days, you will be completely cured.'
Although it took a few days, it was worth it. She brought back all of Kallen's guilt and pity.
"Are you okay?"
Kallen came in personally carrying the medicine.
"Take your medicine."
"Thank you."
Kanna weakly drank the medicine.
'Yuck.'
Was it revealed on his face? Kallen held out a small piece of candy.
'What?'
At that moment, a feeling of rejection struck me. She doesn't want to take the candy Kalen gives her...
***
'There's no need to hit your hand and drop the candy on the floor!'
She wants to shout. But it would be foolish to refuse his favor now. Kanna took the candy, making a grateful expression on her face. She put it in her mouth and rolled it around.
It tastes like strawberry.
It's so cliché.
"Thank you."
"No."
Then he wanders around the room as if he has something to say. Kanna expected what he would say, but she tilted her head, pretending to know nothing.
After a while, Kallen spoke as if she had made up her mind.
"Sorry."
Kanna knew he would say that. But Kanna opened her eyes wide as if she was surprised.
"You went through this hardship because of me."
"No."
"I am truly sorry."
Kanna smiled darkly and lowered her head.
"I think I've been harsh on you all along. He only said bad things and acted coldly. So it's natural for you to ignore me."
"No."
Kallen quickly cut her off.
"No. Don't say that. It all happened because I was narrow-minded."
She knows. Fortunately, he was amazingly good at self-reflection.
"There was something I really wanted to say to you when you woke up."
Kallen came to the bedside. He sat with her knees bent on the floor. Is it to get on eye level with Kanna. Is he to get down on his knees and confess his sins?
"I was wrong."
Kallen's voice was trembling slightly.
"This incident and everything from my childhood."
His fingertips were also twitching slightly.
"I regret it."
"..."
"I don't even dare ask for forgiveness. I just want to pay for my sins."
Kalen Addis. The one who is said to be the next head of Addis, and the one who is famous for being cold-blooded and looks just like Alessandro.
"Please punish me. I will accept anything."
He is now on my knees begging for punishment.
'You're serious.'
If Kanna slaps him, he will receive it obediently, and even if she spit on him, he will endure it quietly. Even if she swung a whip at that perfect back, it seemed like he would endure it without a single scream.
Well, she thinks that might be a bit refreshing. It was both rewarding and laughable.
Of course, Kanna was happy that she had achieved her goal, but that was all. I'm not interested in Kallen's repentance. If it were Kanna from a while ago, saying things like that would have been just annoying. He must have been annoying.
'Do you want me to punish you? No.'
Kanna whispered in her heart.
'If you punish, you get a chance to pay for your crime.'
Memories of the past. He has forgotten it, but she has not forgotten it.
'I tried to kill myself then, Kalen.'
At the age of fourteen, Kanna, tired of being bullied and treated coldly by her family, decided to die. To kill herself, she made her own poison and poured it into her mouth. She thought dying would be sweeter than being alive.
'Even though I failed to die. How could he forgive Kalen like that?'
But Kanna didn't particularly want to burn her heart with hatred. She didn't want to give Kallen forgiveness or punishment, let alone even an ounce of hatred. It was a waste to even think about him and get angry.
So Kalen was just nothing, nothing. Well, now it has been promoted to the level of a chess piece, but it was going to be thrown away without mercy once its usefulness was exhausted.
But now was the time to smile. This guy is not a person to her. He is a tool that should be utilized. A tool that will be thrown away without mercy once it is used up. Well, if she needs it again, she can recycle it.
“Kalen.”
Kalen dutifully raises his head at the call. Those earnest eyes. She wanted to show his handsome face to the world. It would be fun for everyone to see Kalen Addis pleading.
"You know, remember when I told you not to call me sister?"
"Yes."
"You can call me sister from now on."
"Yes?"
"You can call me sister."
Kallen stared at her in silence. Funny enough, his lips were trembling slightly.
'What, are you really moved?'
It's boring. However, Kanna said a more lame line.
"I've been thinking a lot lately."
She recited the lines she had prepared with a sad expression on her face. Almost getting killed by Prince Cassil, her thoughts changed while going through the crisis of death.
And the importance of family naturally came out. blah blah blah.
"At that time, when Prince Cassil was about to shoot an arrow at me."
Kanna paused on purpose and looked embarrassed.
"It reminded me of you."
Kallen seemed speechless. He had an almost visionary face.
"What you said to me before, means that I only have you and to lean on you. That came to mind."
It didn't come to mind at all, not even the slightest bit. She didn't even think of Kalen's character until she thought about selling perfume.
"You were right. You are all I have, Kallen."
Ugh, this line is a bit difficult. She feels like my tongue is rotting. A crisis came, but Kanna focused on the next line.
'Tears, tears! Even just one drop is good, so please come out!'
Finally, a single, barely squeezed teardrop. She deliberately tilted her head so that Kallen could see her better and let out a sob.
"I was really scared."
"Sister..."
Kallen's voice trembled. Kanna glanced down and saw that he was now trembling down to his fingertips. It seemed like he was completely immersed in this scene.
"Black, dark."
Kanna covered her face with both hands. The way her shoulders were shaking was so thin. It was like a pitiful flower. Kallen unconsciously extended his hand to Kanna's trembling shoulder, but lowered it just before he reached it.
He clenched his fists tightly. Once again, self-destruction tore him apart.
'Poor sister. How pitiful. I feel sorry for you.'
"Kalen, you are right."
Kanna cried and held Kallen's hand.
"You are all I have, Kallen. You are the only one who thinks of me, yes?"
Kallen stared at the hand holding him, then covered the back of her hand with his other hand.
"Yes."
For some reason, Kanna was startled by that heavy weight. For a moment. She tried to pull it out without realizing it.
"What you said is right."
Kallen gently pressed the back of her hand. It's as if he won't allow it even if she tries to leave now.
"You have me."
Kallen looked up at her. His eyes were so passionate that she was blind.
"So rest assured now."
So take advantage of me. That's what it sounded like to Kanna's ears. It was a very beautiful line.
he's suddenly looking pitifully laughable
