SPMB - Chapter 74
My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone
"What?"
Kalen, who was training, stopped moving.
"What did you say just now, Alric?"
"Duchess Valentino has requested a meeting."
Has Kanna ever found him first?
She was the one who kicked out, shook off, and kicked Kalen, who always came to visit. But why is she suddenly looking for him?
'Why now?'
He was able to make up his mind at best. Kallen pursed his lips. Recently, he suffered all kinds of ridicule and rejection that he had never experienced before in his life.
It was all given to him by Kanna.
What was his most recent rejection?
"I want you to Ignore me. If I had feelings for you, they would probably be terrible hate. I don't want to waste my emotions hating you."
The moment he returned to his room after being hit with violent words. He felt cold all the way to his toes from the emptiness. He still wasn't sure whether the emotion that struck him at that time was shame, anger, or misery.
'It looks like your relationship with Sylvienne Valentino has improved.'
He also had ears to hear. Sylvien shoots the Prince with an arrow to save Kanna. Also, the fact that she accepted the Emperor's compromise to alleviate her guilt was already so famous that no one knew about it. After chasing him around like that, it seemed like she finally won Sylvien's heart.
'Yes, it went well.'
Meanwhile, Kalen's feelings toward Kanna were half pity and half guilt. He believed so.
So he didn't want to be swayed by those petty feelings anymore.
"What should I tell the Duchess?"
Kallen shook her head in response to the butler's question.
"Tell her not to wait."
"Yes. I understand."
After the butler left, Kalen swung his sword again.
Okay. It's such an easy task, so why did he hesitate for so long?
He won't see her again from now on. He won't even get involved in his sister's affairs. It should have been like this a long time ago. Right away.
***
Don't wait.
When the butler relayed Kalen's words, Kanna nodded obediently. Maybe she really thought he might be busy.
But since that answer was repeated for three days, Kanna couldn't understand it.
Kalen was avoiding her on purpose.
"No, I'll wait."
Today again, when the answer came back saying 'Don't wait', Kanna sat down on the sofa.
"I will continue to wait here. Tell Kalen that."
"Yes, Ma'am."
She waited, flipping through the book she had prepared in advance. After three hours, raindrops began to fall, pounding on the window.
It was five minutes later that Kallen returned.
"..."
The moment he opened the door and came in, Kalen stopped.
Did it rain during practice? His body was lightly wet.
"What are you doing here?"
"I waited for you."
"I would have told you not to do that. It looks like the butler didn't do his job properly."
"No, I said I would wait."
"So that's what I'm saying."
Kalen walked in with strides and filled the empty glass on the table with whiskey.
'Oh, it looks like you're training hard.'
Kanna stared at his back. Perfectly shaped muscles were revealed under a rain-soaked shirt.
'Well. Addis is Addis.'
She didn't know because she always saw him processing documents, but he was a model student who put in just as much training as he did.
"From now on, if you have anything to say, please do it through the deacon."
Kallen drank the whiskey in one go and turned around.
"I have nothing to share with you."
"..."
"So don't come looking for me anymore."
He raised his hand holding the glass and pointed to the door. It was a congratulatory message.
"Get out, Kanna Valentino."
***
'How do I do this?'
Kanna sat by the lab window and looked out. Her aggressive torrential downpour was falling as if it were crashing down on her earth.
That was the only thought. Kanna thought hard about how to move useful chess pieces efficiently.
There are no other impressions. When Kalen stares at her coldly, he tells her not to come when he chases her out of the room. Kanna wasn't surprised at all. Of course, there was no harm done.
'Yes, that is Kalen Addis.'
On the contrary. Kanna was used to it. It's just that he returned to the original younger brother she knew, rather than the strange Kalen he had been.
'What's clear is that he feels guilty about me, perhaps because he's older."
So some time ago, in an uncharacteristic way, he bowed down and asked for reconciliation.
Although it was a feeling of guilt that would soon go away.
'I thought it would be just that much. It's a good thing I didn't take it seriously.'
But Kanna needed that attitude now. But somehow, the guilt is gone now.
'In that case, just make it come back and that's it.'
The answer is here.
Kanna got up from the chair. She looked through her hanging bottles of medicine, selected one of her own, and held it up.
'This medicine might be appropriate.'
Kalen Addis. I need your guilt now. To do that, sacrifices were necessary. Very little sacrifice.
***
Has the rainy season started?
The rain continued to pour for several days. Kalen swung his sword in the indoor training hall. Maybe it was because his mind was complicated, but the tip of the sword was duller than usual.
A little while ago, the deacon came and said this.
"The Duchess Valentino came to visit today as well."
Kalen was taken aback by those words.
He didn't expect her to come back again despite being shut out yesterday. But his mind did not change.
"Get me out of the room. Make sure you don't run into me when I get back."
Not only that, Kalen deliberately extended the training time. He did it so as not to meet Kanna.
His own decision was funny. To avoid her, to not meet her, to change her schedule at will.
What on earth is he afraid of?
'Is it? Is it scary?'
Kalen plunged his sword into the ground.
Is he that afraid of losing his composure in front of Sister, no, Kanna Valentino?
'As expected. I have to stay away from my sister.'
How on earth can she manipulate himself like this? The guilt of the mere childhood is no excuse.
'Would it be better to kick her out of Addis Mansion?'
Yeah, that would be a good idea...Then, he can go back to his normal daily life like before.
Kalen wiped his sweat with a towel and stared out the window. The night had already become dark. At this point, Kanna would have left without waiting any longer.
With that in mind, Kalen opened the door and a rush of cold air rushed in. The sound of rain hits my ears.
Kallen opened an umbrella and walked forward.
"..."
However, after taking a few steps, he stopped. In the pouring rain, someone was standing.
The moment he checked his opponent, his back was pulled. He was just as embarrassed.
“Kalen, It was Kanna. Are you done now?"
She brushed away her wet hair with a weak movement.
"I kept waiting."
Kalen's breathing stopped. When he realized too late that had stopped, he let out a rough breath. He barely moved his stiff lips.
"Here."
Kalen's trembling gaze traveled down her hair. A few strands of hair stuck to her white cheeks, trembled lips, and soaked clothes. Kallen stared at her blankly, feeling extremely devastated for some reason. Was it this difficult to come up with lines and words?
"What are you doing?"
Then Kanna laughed weakly. As she blinked, raindrops fell on her long eyelashes. It flows along the curve of the cheek and seeps into the lips.
"I told you. I waited for you."
and this is the chapter i start to dislike mc. she was the one who told Kalen to ignore her, but now she does this shit
ReplyDeletefuck google account this is annoying
DeleteThis MC is becoming like the rest of the people she hates
ReplyDeleteGurrrlll, u told him that🙄ugh
ReplyDeleteSo funny. The author wants to portray her to be a strong woman who don't need anyone's help. Who ignored all the people who have done bad things to her. She push away all the help from people who have ignored her in the past. But then what? She goes back on her own words. She still need someone's help in order to gain power. This chapter is the turning point I think. Such a foolish author.
ReplyDeleteMy god she's turning stupid too
ReplyDeleteKanna lives in a world dominated by men. Her best option is to manipulate them to get what she wants for now. Why can't you see that? (To the people who have commented before me)
