SPMB - Chapter 64

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

"What information are you looking for?"

Groups that buy and sell information exist everywhere. Although it was not an officially licensed organization, everyone knew about it secretly and anyone with money could use it.

'So, even a suspicious woman like me just has to pay."

"I didn't come to buy information. Rather, I came to give it to you."

"What?"

The information merchant frowned. Then he jumped up with an expression of displeasure as if he had wasted time.

"We do not buy information from people whose identities we do not know."

"It's so bad."

"Who would sell it?"

Clink.

Kanna held out a bundle of gold coins on her desk. Then his body, which was about to turn around, suddenly freezes. 1000 gold. It was the money Kanna received from selling jewelry at a pawn shop earlier.

"As I said, I'm not here to sell information. I have no intention of asking for money."

"..."

"I will pay you a thousand gold in exchange for my information."

"We have separate informants. To an unidentified person..... "

"I assure you, sooner or later someone will come looking for my information."

"..."

'And my information could be sold for a huge price. What is 1000 gold? It must be worth it."

She whispered seductively.

"It doesn't matter whether you believe it or not. Sit in front of me and listen to me. There's nothing to lose, right?"

The man looked suspiciously at Kanna's words. But he soon pulled out a chair and sat down.

"Okay, let's take a listen."

"His Royal Highness Prince Cassil Isaberg, you know, right?"

Immediately the man's expression crumpled. He also seemed to have a terrible opinion of the bastard Prince.

"Okay. A Prince who was sentenced to exile. Fortunately, he is now gone. Why him?"

"From what I heard, on the last day of his exile, he was walking around Debor Pharmacy pretending to be a commoner and was hit by a woman and passed out. She has black hair."

Since she gave the obvious clue that the woman had black hair, he would have guessed right away that it was her, Kanna Valentino.

As expected, the man seemed interested and focused. He asked, leaning forward.

"So? What happened?"

However, Kanna opened her empty hands.

"It's over."

"..."

That's all the information I'm giving you."

Then the man grumbled irritably.

"Hey, what on earth are you going to do with that much information? Isn't there supposed to be a backstory?"

"Well."

Kanna grinned inside the hood. She had a smile that no one would ever see.

"I think that's enough."

After leaving the information shop, she returned to the ward. She called the escort knights that Sylvien had assigned her. She held out a sealed letter to one of them.

"I need to convey this to the imperial family, can you send it to me?"

"Yes, I understand."

"Thank you. Please, as quickly as possible."

He immediately took the letter and left. Once that letter is delivered to the Empress, everything will go as planned.

Of course before that,

'Sylvienne will check the letter first.'

***

"This is a letter that Duchess Valentino told me to deliver to the imperial family."

Suddenly the fountain pen stopped, and Sylvien raised his head.

Kanna told him to deliver a letter to the imperial family?

For a moment, doubt arose. Was she also dissatisfied with the fact that this incident was not widely publicized and that Cassil was not punished?

Without even a second thought, Sylvien removed the wax seal and opened the letter. He read it.

'...'

After a while, he folded up the letter. He put it neatly in an envelope, sealed it with wax, and handed it to the driver.

"May I send it, Your Excellency?"

"Go ahead."

It was a no-problem letter. He had a slight suspicion that she might be planning to report something that happened the day before yesterday.

"That can't be possible."

Sylvien laughed at his imagination and shook his head.

Yeah, that can't be true. If she does that, he'll be in trouble.

Kanna loves herself. Although she has shown a change recently, Sylvien has never once doubted her love. Her past seven years have been enough to make him believe that.

Besides, didn't he save her life this time?

'So there's no way you'd do anything that would harm me."

It was a brief distraction. He pushed Kanna out of his mind again and focused on his papers. After that, he didn't think about it even for a moment.

***

A few days passed like that. Kanna worked hard to receive treatment even though she was injured. Since the disease was so easy to treat, there was no need to worry too much.

The patients' diets were planned, and they were carefully checked to ensure that they consumed a certain amount of fruit juice and medicinal herbs every day.

The results were great.

The crew's condition improved day by day. The swollen gums gradually subsidized, and the ulcers on the skin stopped oozing. As she supplemented with vitamin C, which was extremely low, their health gradually began to recover.

The more it happened, the more nervous Isaac became.

'What if this becomes known to the world?'

Isaac provided information about the dark-haired woman to Prince Cassil and insisted to Balix that the woman should be punished.

Besides, didn't he participate in 'hunting'?

'It's a good thing Duke Valentino arrived before the arrow was fired."

Although he pretended that he was there to save her, Sylvien didn't seem to completely believe it.

It didn't seem like there was any need to dig into it because they just decided to ask about it.

'But what if he changes his mind and investigates the truth properly and tries to punish me?

That wasn't all.

Surprisingly, the symptoms of the sick sailors were gradually improving!

'It is a lie. How can they get better just by changing their diet and taking some herbal medicine?"

If the sailors get better, what happens to them?

It was easy to imagine. A doctor who couldn't cure a disease that even women can easily cure.

A lawmaker who made an absurd claim that he may have been infected by Black Fog. Thus, the lawmaker who even made Alessandro Addis come forward.

If that happens, Isaac's life as a member of the National Assembly will be over.

'No, I can't leave it like that."

It was then.

Thump thump.

There was a knock on the front door.

"Who?"

He suddenly opened the door, but there was no one there.

"What is this?"

Instead, there was a letter and a small package left in front of the door.

'Who left it behind?'

He checked the letter first. The handwriting is crooked as if it was intentionally written with the left hand. The intention was to hide the handwriting.

The woman is trying to report this to the imperial family.

What?

'If it becomes known that I tried to hunt down nobles while I was in exile, it would be harmful to me, the lords who cooperated with me, and Doctor Isaac.'

His heart dropped. The only people who know what happened at that time are those who were in the forest at the time.

In other words, this was a letter from Prince Cassil!

But that woman is trying to report this to the imperial family?

His fingertips were trembling. Can not be done. She can't do that!

'So I plan to frame that bitch. Sneak into the ward and poison the sailors' medicine. I've bribed a few people in the ward, so if you go on the date and time I mentioned, you'll be able to take the poison without running into anyone.

Kill the sailors with poison. Kill everyone at once in one day and make it look like she killed them. Then I will arrange for her to be executed by labeling that woman as the black apostle.

Be sure to burn this letter.'

Shakily, Isaac unwrapped the package with trembling hands.

A small glass bottle with red liquid inside. And it contained the key to the ward.

"Uh..."

A painful groan came out as if he had been strangled.

Is he saying kill the sailors?

But he is a member of the National Assembly?

He's a lawmaker who saves people's lives?

'You may have to stay alive to work as a member of the National Assembly!"

For a moment, Isaac came to his senses. Yes, he has to live.

If that woman reveals this, Isaac will definitely die. Cassil, a member of the royal family, and Balix, a nobleman, may not know, but he himself will surely die. Certainly!

'Yes, and if the crew dies, my honor will not be damaged. I can continue to work as a member of parliament.'

Isaac swallowed dry saliva.

Is it because a decision has been made? Now his fingertips no longer shake. Only the two eyes burned like a spectacular fire.

'This is the only way to live."
