SPMB - Chapter 63

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

Sylvien explained quietly.

It was a gentle voice as if teaching basic arithmetic to a child. Moreover, as Kanna listened, she realized that what he said was right.

'Yes, it was Sylvien who brought me here. Where there is a Prince who has already touched noble women several times.'

The moment she realized that Sylvien had a duty to protect her, not her voice whispering.

'If it were an ordinary couple, it would have been natural for Sylvien to protect me because he was my husband. If I had been Joo-hwa,  would have waited desperately for Sylvien to come to the rescue.'

However, Kanna did not expect or wish anything from Sylvien in the first place. She only understood it after Sylvien explained the plausible reasons.

Kanna sighed deeply.

She has no interest in blaming herself anyway, and she has even less interest in blaming herself for his fault.

'I'm tired.'

A sense of fatigue, dejected, and body pain. Kanna closed her eyes and wanted to get away from everything. Still, she has to say this.

"Thank you."

Kanna muttered with her eyes closed.

"I didn't think anyone would help me."

Suddenly, she realized that it wasn't polite to say thank you with her eyes closed, so she opened her eyes. She faced him.

"..."

Is it because of the mood? The eyes look somewhat crooked.

 'It must be an illusion."

Kanna closed her eyes again.

***

And Kanna lay in bed sick for a whole day. When she woke up a day later, the situation had already been resolved. Prince Casil said that he left Venice after having a deep conversation with Sylvienne.

What on earth was he talking about?

"Now, the events of that time will no longer be talked about."

That means it was buried. I

She didn't know if it was a threat or what, but it seemed like Cassil and Sylvien had agreed to cover it up and not tell anyone.

'Because we're at a disadvantage to both sides.'

If it were revealed to the public, it would be like both of them holding each other by the collar and falling into the water. Anyway, during his exile, Cassil tried to harm the nobles again, and Sylvien shot an arrow at the royal family.

'Maybe it's best to ask.'

Sylvien, who was staring at her, asked.

"Don't you like it?"

 "yes?"

"Are you disappointed that I didn't make this public?"

"..."

What is the intention behind this?

'Of course, from my perspective, that's true.'

She hoped this would be revealed and Cassil would be punished justly. He will either be exiled or imprisoned forever.

"That Prince will attack me again someday."

It was an obvious story.

They have gotten through it safely now, but will the crazy Prince just forget about this?

'No. I'm sure they'll retaliate. He can't bear to touch Sylvien, but he won't leave it alone.'

And when that time comes, Sylvien won't help as much as he does now.

Originally, he was a man who had no interest in whether she died or not. Only this time was an exception because he was responsible.

Therefore, she could not request that this matter be made public. If it becomes public, the fact that Sylvien shot the arrow will also be revealed. Since he shot the Prince with an arrow, Sylvien will definitely be called to court.

He probably didn't want to take that kind of trouble. In other words, Sylvien made the best choice for himself.

She can't ask someone like that to protect her. That's why she spoke calmly.

"Your Excellency made the best decision. It's not for me to argue. It's okay, so please add a few more escorts."

"I will."

"However, there is no need for close escort. Please let me call them only when I want to, and ask me when I don't need to."

"I will do as Miss Kanna wants."

And Lord Balix and Doctor Isaac. It is said that they bowed down and apologized to Sylvien.

"Well, I'm here to stop this! I'm sorry for not blocking him in advance, Your Excellency!"

They say he said so.

'Lie.'

Although they did not attack Kanna in the forest, Kanna knew.

'You guys also tried to hunt me down with the Prince.'

Whether willingly or unwillingly, he tried to cruelly hunt her down.

When she thought about it like that, it felt like she was covered in cold water from head to toe. Realization struck her.

She really almost died.

She almost got murdered.

Of course, she had faced life-or-death crises several times before, but this time was different. Death has never been so close and threatening.

Kanna clenched my fists due to the sudden sense of crisis.

"The Third Prince won't leave me alone."

No matter when he will retaliate. It could be a year later, or it could be a month later. Or maybe it's just tomorrow.

'Something has to be done.'

Kanna was shaking her head the entire time she was in the hospital bed. Something must be done with the Prince. She can't just wait calmly for him to attack. But she does not have the power to put pressure on the Prince. Then,

' I can use someone with that kind of power.'

At that moment, a person passed by in her mind.

'Empress.'

What if this story reaches the Empress's

ears?

'Cassil is Queen Teresa's son. He is the Prince who monopolizes the Emperor's love, so he must be a thorn in the Empress's eyes.

And the Empress was a woman who would even kill her daughter for her own gain.

'What will happen when the Empress finds out about this?'

A smile appeared on Kanna's lips.

She felt like she now knew how to solve this problem.

***

The next morning. She defeated the guards and left the ward. First, she went to the general store. There, she bought a brown hair wig and immediately put it on. She then pulled a hood over it to hide her appearance.

The next place she headed to was a pawn shop.

"I came to sell this."

Kanna took off all the jewelry hanging from her dress and held them out.

 "How much can you price?"

"200 gold."

The pawn shop owner answered roughly, picking his ears. Kanna frowned. It was an expected development, but this was a bit harsh.

This is a piece of jewelry taken from a dress that Sylvien personally bought for her. Since she didn't bring any clothes, he prepared it for her

'And he doesn't treat people unless they are of the highest quality.'

But it's only 200 gold? Kanna sighed and jumped up from her seat.

"I'm not selling it. I'll go somewhere else."

"Uh. uh. wait a minute."

The owner quickly grabbed her by the collar and smiled brightly.

"I understand, I understand. I'll give you 1000 gold."

"Do you think you can find jewelry of this quality in Venice? If you go inland and sell this, you can get at least 2.000 gold."

Only then did the pawn shop owner realize that Kanna knew exactly the value of this jewel.

"Good. 1700 gold. No more than that."

"..."

Kanna pretended to be displeased and sat back down. Because the purpose wasn't money anyway. No, of course, she needs money too.

'What I really need is the position of an information merchant.'

In order to leak information to the Empress, she had to get help from the guild.

"How about this? I have a question. If you tell me, I will only receive 1,000 gold."

"What? Say it."

"I'd like to know where the information is sold."

At those words, the pawn shop owner's hands stiffened.

'Please. I should know.'

Buying and selling goods and buying and selling information are inseparable. That's what she thought, so she came here.

"Don't you know?"

But the pawn shop owner said nothing. Kanna sighed deeply.

"If you don't know, there's nothing you can do. Please give me 1700 gold."

He seemed to ponder for a moment in silence. however,

"I'll draw you a map."

Done! Kanna took the map he had drawn. Her heart was pounding. Things were going very smoothly.
