Someone Has Possessed My Body

 "What?"

"I think you wanted that situation to continue rather than ask me for help."

It wasn't wrong. If it weren't for Kalen, she could have seen something very interesting and taken revenge by bringing disaster to the Valentino family.

"How on earth have you been at Valentino?"

Kalen still couldn't believe what he saw. Kanna was lying on the dirt floor and being beaten like an animal. She accepted the violence as if she was all too familiar with it. Has she lived like that all this time?

"Is this how Valentino has treated you? All the time you were at Valentino?"

Kalen asked harshly, stroking his hair as if it were absurd. 

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"What difference does it make if I tell you?"

"Yes?"

"What difference does it make if I tell you?"

As she listen in silence, she start to feel irritated. Kanna muttered, feeling very upset.

"It wasn't really any different from when I stayed in Addis."

So Joo-hwa never once reported this to the Addis family. No, she didn't even think to announce it. She never considered Addis to be her ally in the first place.

'But you shouldn't have said it like a gamble at least once, Lee Joo-hwa. Maybe he could have stepped forward for the honor of the Addis family.' 

Lee Joo-hwa, who kept her mouth shut throughout her married life. When Kanna thought of her, she couldn't help but sigh.

"..."

Kalen was speechless. His words seemed to have struck his throat.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Ignored, persecuted, and sometimes beaten. I got the same thing in Addis, right?"

"Someone hit you!"

"Your mother, Chloe."

"..."

"Your older brother, Orsini, when we were young."

Kanna smiled slightly and was sarcastic. Kalen's complexion was now pale.

 A laugh came out automatically from Kanna's lips.

"What if you tell him? Do you think your father will do anything?"

"..."

'I'm telling you, don't interfere with my revenge story like you did today.'

He glared at her with those eyes and kept his mouth shut.

'After being this sarcastic, I won't talk to you anymore.'

Kanna completely turned around, as if declaring that she had no intention of talking anymore. Fortunately, Kalen did not open his mouth after that.

At that moment, the carriage suddenly stopped with the sound of a horse neighing. Kanna's body almost fell forward due to the violent sudden stop, but Kalen quickly caught her and stopped her.

He shouted to the coachman.

"What's going on!"

Kanna's eyes widened as she looked out the window. Someone on a horse was blocking her carriage. Silver hair shining brightly under the sunlight, that person...

"Sylvienne Valentino?"

Why is he here? Kalen also noticed that presence and her face hardened. Suddenly, Kalen opened the carriage door and got out. Kanna also hesitantly followed suit.

"What are you doing. His Excellency Duke Valentino?"

Sylvien looked down at them from his horse. And he smiled.

"Because my wife is here,"

Kanna frowned without realizing it. 

'Wife, me?'

The same was true for Kalen. He glared coldly at Sylvien as if he had heard a very vulgar word.

"Who are you talking about?"

"The person standing behind you is my wife, didn't you know?"

Sylvienne easily gets off the horse while she is so shocked that she is at a loss for words. He approaches slowly.

"Where are you taking my wife now?

"My wife."

Is it because Kalen's too angry?

Kalen was more calm than ever.

"I didn't know that His Excellency the Duke considered my sister to be his wife."

Then Sylvien smiled softly. 

"I also didn't know that you regarded my wife as your sister." 

"Did you know that Count Eilester treats my sister like a slave?"

Kalen asked quietly. The voice was so calm that it did not sound like an angry person.

"Your Excellency, if you had eyes, look at my sister's face. Your stepmother made it like this," 

"It's definitely not in good condition."

Sylvien wrinkles his eyebrows as if he feels a bit regretful.

"I will treat you myself, so please go back to Addis."

"No, my sister is coming with me. I can't leave her alone in that monster's lair any longer."

'What are you both talking about?'

Kanna was dumbfounded and watched with her arms crossed. She had no idea why those kids were doing that. No, Kalen has been acting strange lately.

'Sylvienne Valentino, what are you thinking?

Why did the guy who left with nothing but a sleeping scent come back to catch her now? That guy doesn't even care if she is there or not or where she goes.

"What happened?"

Kanna asked because she was curious. Then Kalen did her impression.

"No, sister. Don't worry about him...."

"Kalen Addis, shut up."

For a moment. Kalen's expression became clouded. A face as if he had been slapped by her. Kanna was taken aback because the look in his eyes conveyed his sense of betrayal.

What does that expression mean? Did he really think he would take his side?

'He's really weird.' 

Kanna glared coldly at him and then stepped forward.

"I asked what was going on, Duke."

Sylvien, who was watching them with interest, opened his mouth.

"Do you remember what happened last night?"?

Last night? Is he talking about that night when she tried to attack him with a sleeping scent but failed, and fell asleep because of the reverse attack?

Sylvien smiled vaguely and whispered. 

"I guess you all remember it all."

"Of course, I remember."

"Thank goodness. Last night Miss Kanna fell asleep like you were fainting, so I asked just in case."

It's not like she is falling asleep like she fainted..... Sylvien knocked her out. Does he think she did that on purpose?

His strange way of speaking was very misleading. And strangely enough, it seemed like Kalen was really offended by those words.

"If possible, I would like to discuss what happened last night. Something like a gift from Miss Kanna."

Gift?

"This is something precious that Miss Kanna gave me last night."

He is talking about a sleeping scent. But why does he turn it around like that and say it in a way that makes it sound strange? Kanna couldn't understand Sylvien's intentions.

Maybe Kalen shouldn't know?

Is Sylvien saying it would be better to pretend to be a couple who had a hot night rather than talk about the scent of sleep?

"What Miss Kanna did last night, can always make it a problem."

Kanna glared at him. Making a mean threat with such an elegant face.

'Unlucky bastard."

But it was true.

"Great."

"Then shall we go?" 

When Kanna follows in Sylvien's footsteps.

"...?"

Kalen grabbed her arm. She glared at Kalen nervously. 

"What?"

"..."

Kalen said nothing. No. He felt completely speechless. He had a confused face as if he didn't even know what he was doing. But the strength of his grip on her arm remains unchanged. The feeling of disconnection was very strange.

At this moment, Kalen seemed unable to understand or control himself.

"Kalen, will you let me go?"

"..."

"Come on? If you have something to say, say it quickly." 

He moved his lips as if hesitating, but in the end, he couldn't say anything.

"Let go, Kalen."

Suddenly, the power dissipates from his grasp. Kanna roughly shook off his hand and followed Sylvien.

'Strange guy. Why on earth is he like that?'
