EIITB Chapter 11 < Are You Going To Play With It Again? >
Even If It Is Trampled And Broken
"I don't think I said anything particularly wrong, but it's hard to catch the blame."
"I'm telling you to be polite!"
Angela repeatedly raised her voice and got on Aslan's nerves.
Fearing that her maid might be harmed, Hestia quickly exhaled her breath and stopped Angela.
"It's okay, Angela. Stop."
"But Princess......!"
Hestia was adamant.
"Stop, Angela."
She was well aware of her maid's loyalty. She was always grateful, but she was honestly just a hindrance in this situation.
"I have something to talk about with Duke Kalati. So please leave the room."
Angela looked back at her with a look in her eyes that told her that she had no idea Hestia would give her orders like that. As she hesitated and fidgeted, as if she found it difficult to follow, Hestia eventually spoke sternly once more.
'Hurry."
"... Okay, Princess. I'll be outside, so if anything happens..."
As Angela continued her words with a glance towards Aslan, Hestia sighed and shook her head.
"That doesn't happen. Duke Kalati is not the kind of person who would do that."
Hestia cut Angela off mid-sentence, fearing that she might make more mistakes. Angela hesitated for a moment longer, but then she walked out of her throne room with cautious steps.
Aslan gave an order with his chin to his men who were waiting for me behind.
"You guys go out too."
"...Yes, Your Excellency."
Unlike Angela, Aslan's men did not add anything, but silently nodded their heads and turned towards the entrance. But even so, everyone glanced at Hestia at least once.
Like their master's, their eyes were not pretty, so Hestia had to bite the delicate flesh in her mouth every time a part of their gaze touched her.
Finally, only Hestia and Aslan remained in the throne room. Hestia was the first to speak.
"I hope you don't act sharp. The reason I spoke to you was because I just wanted to ask how you were."
However, Aslan's momentum did not subside one bit. He actually looked more angry at Hestia's answer.
"Once again, you became curious about my well-being.....?"
He chuckled as if he had heard a funny joke.
"Should I believe that obvious lie like an idiot? Or are you going to play with it again?"
As he added, Hestia stopped breathing and gently closed her eyes.
"Was it fun? You're playing with me."
She felt like the words she heard from him the other day overlapped. Hestia barely opened her eyes again and immediately began to tremble. For a moment, his attitude felt threatening, and she even took a couple of steps backward without realizing it. Seeing that, Aslan's keen eyes became even sharper.
"Just be honest. No one has ears to hear but us..."
He raised the corners of his mouth. The smile that the man, who was not afraid of laughter, gave her was quite sharp. Enough to rip her breasts to shreds.
"I wonder what you have to say now about a topic you've avoided for six years."
The one word he uttered was like magic. From the moment she saw Aslan's face, she thought,
'I have to talk quickly.'
'I have to tell the story quickly.'
And Hestia, who had been acting impatient the whole time, was silenced. Her purple eyes wavered as she looked up at Aslan. He was looking down at her with the same cynical expression on his face as before. It was heartbreaking to see such an attitude as if it was difficult to bear even this brief moment of face-to-face contact.
Hestia also knew about her hair. She knows that now she has to bow down to him. But she hasn't even brought up the real story yet, so does he really need to be this cold just because she's dealing with him?
Strangely, her emotions continued to surge within her.
'Will this man listen to me seriously?'
She decided to endure his cold treatment to some extent. So she decided to hide her real secret. And yet, nevertheless.
Hestia scolded Aslan.
'I know better than anyone else that we are not in a relationship where I can feel this way.....!
Why is it that I can't get it together at all?
Hestia lifted her trembling hands and covered her face as if to hide her collapsed expression.
"Please..."
"Hmm?"
With her eyes tightly closed, Hestia opened her mouth. It was a very tired voice in that short period of time.
"Just like that... Do you feel relieved having to criticize everything about me?"
Reason tried to stop her from speaking several times, but strangely enough, her lips opened of their own accord. Meanwhile, Aslan listened to Hestia and picked his words for a moment.
"Hmm."
He read it with the intention of figuring out what she was thinking when she said this to him and her intention.
She felt his persistent gaze looking at her face as if trying to examine her expression, but it was soon withdrawn, perhaps because Hestian was still covering her face.
"Not really."
"..."
What seemed like a short pause soon turned into cold sarcasm.
"But no matter what I say, the Princess doesn't shed a single tear, so for some reason, I feel angry."
Hestia bit down hard on the delicate flesh in her mouth. She calmed her expression and lowered her hand that was covering her face. Then she looked straight at Aslan with unwavering eyes.
"Then I guess I should also say 'definitely'.
"What do you mean?"
As Hestia took in her breath, her small chest heaved.
"I don't care if you treat me rudely. But I'm telling you to be careful about your attitude at least in public."
Aslan snorted at her.
"I said something again and you said you wanted a treat."
"That's not it.... ...."
Hestia frowned slightly and tried to elaborate, but Aslan didn't seem to have any intention of listening.
"You have bitten everyone just to nag like that. It's amazing."
"Duke."
"But, princess."
Aslan's voice suddenly became cold.
"Isn't there something you should say first before you expect me to say those words or behave like that?"
Hestia narrowed her brows and tilted her head with a look of incomprehension on her face.
"... Am I talking to you?"
Aslan's face hardened at her actions.
"I understand from what you said. I mean, you've lived your life without any regrets or hesitations."
He took a deep breath as if trying to swallow his anger.
"It wasn't even worth hearing anymore. I feel like I wasted a lot of time."
Tsk, he clicked his tongue roughly and carelessly brushed his hair with his large hand.
"As I said before, who's going to say that I'm being disrespectful? His Majesty can't say anything right now. Ah."
He paused for a moment and burst into laughter.
"You're not doing it?"
Those slow words were full of self-deprecation. Hestia could not deny it.
Because Aslan's guess was correct. Aslan paid Yorgos no more than the bare minimum of courtesy. Although he had neither reverence nor respect, Yorgos nevertheless took no note of Aslan's insolence. This was because if Aslan's temper was upset and the shield that blocked the North disappeared even if he uttered his bitter words, he would have to bear the entire damage himself.
Moreover, since Aslan was the only one who could criticize his incompetence, he tended to let it go even further.
"Or, as everyone says, they think I'm really a barbarian and don't know how to behave."
Aslan added as if muttering bitterly and twisted his mouth.
"Anyway, I have no intention of being polite to you."
Aslan seemed intent on putting an end to this situation in a hurry.
"If you don't like it, let's just carry on as before. You avoid me when you see me, and I avoid you when I see you."
He clicked his tongue briefly and put effort into each word until the very end as if he was chewing tough meat.
"Wouldn't it be better for both sides?"
Aslan's golden eyes glanced at Hestia with anger. Then he looked away without hesitation.
"I'd better go. I think we were wrong to have a constructive conversation from the beginning."
Aslan turned around, pouring out only sarcasm and anger. Hestia couldn't help but be embarrassed.
"Wait a minute. Duke, my story is not over yet."
No, she couldn't even start the main topic at all. She couldn't let him go like this, so she tried to take a hasty step, but the difference between his and her strides was so great that there was no way to catch Aslan, who was moving further and further away.
"Duke!"
Hestia became anxious and raised her voice.
Aslan's steps stopped at the sound of her voice coming from behind him. But he still didn't look back. Hestia repeatedly raised her voice to bring back Aslan's gaze, which had already left her.
"Get married, I want to get married!"
