IDMH - Chapter 3

IDMH - Chapter 8

I Decided My Husband

Gelean Anasid. He was my mother's half-brother and the one who ruined the Anasid family. Gambling addiction is the cause. Gelean went to the casino as if he were at home and squandered his money.

Her maternal grandparents, Count and Countess Anasid, tried to stop Gelean somehow, but he didn't listen like an unbridled colt. Rather, he poured more money into the casino, saying that he was more stressed out because of the nagging.

As a result, Countess Anasid's family had so much debt that they had to sell the historic mansion. Count Anasid, who wanted to protect the mansion somehow, risked his shame and asked my mother for help.

My mother didn't like her half-brother because he was a fool, but she couldn't bear to refuse her father's request and help him. If the situation reaches that point. It would be normal to realize something, but unfortunately, Gelean was abnormal.

He did not stop gambling, even selling the name of Duke Leopold to continue gambling. Angered by this, my mother cut off all financial support. Nevertheless, instead of reflecting and apologizing, Gelean raised a blood vessel in her neck and screamed loudly at my mother.

"Is it such a waste to give to your family when you have so much money that it will rot anyway? Yes? You are like a selfish woman!"

Hearing those words, it was only natural for my father to kick out Gelean in a fit of rage. All of this happened before I was even 7 years old. Even after that, Gelean, who was in need of money, shamelessly showed himself to the Duke's family several times with the help of Count Anasid.

It is difficult to make a living, so he asked for a loan. However, my parents, who had already made up their minds, resolutely kicked them out. Even then, Gelean pointed at the front gate of the duchy and cursed my parents, shouting that it was too much and that they were abandoning their parents too.

To put your face on such a subject at my father's funeral, he couldn't be this shameless.

In my heart. I wanted to expel him right away, but I couldn't because there was a history in the past life when they were defeated in the territory and things became more complicated.

"Adele, you have grown so much. You have become a full-fledged lady."

So I had no choice but to accept it, but Geluan pretended to be friendly as if I was misunderstanding something.

"Thank you."

It was so repulsive that I had to strain my face to straighten out the wrinkles on my face.

"He was a good person, but it's so sad that he passed away like this."

"I know, right. I'm so sad I can't stop crying."

It was really tearful to see her trying to squeeze the tears that could n't come out. No matter how much couples look alike, isn't it necessary to resemble that shameless part?

"Uncle, please put the flowers down."

When Gelean picked up the white chrysanthemum flowers in the vase, I stopped him. Then Geluan looked at me in bewilderment.

"Put down the flowers. Then how do I make an offering to my brother-in-law?"

"You don't have to.

"What?"

"I'm just saying you don't have to."

Geluan was dumbfounded. but belatedly understood my words and frowned.

"Are you ignoring us now?"

"It can't be. I'm just saying that my father won't like it."

I snatched the chrysanthemum from Gelean and put it back in the vase.

"Because my father hated uncle very much. But he won't be able to close his eyes peacefully when uncle lays a wreath."

Geluan's face turned red. He stomped his feet like a bull and roared loudly.

"Let's look at the crocodile talking to the grown-ups who have made it this far through the snow! You can clearly see how you were educated by your father!"

"Then, did uncle get a good education from grandfather and waste the family fortune on gambling?"

"What, what?"

"Considering that my mother was right, I don't think so, so was my grandmother the problem?"

You, you...!"

It was funny no matter how many times I watched him tremble without being able to speak properly.

"Honey, calm down."

My relatively normal maternal aunt stopped him. Still, whether he was listening to his wife or if he remembered his original purpose, Gelean took a deep breath and caught his breath.

It's a waste. If Gelean had turned his eyes and rushed at me, he could have been banished from the Leopold estate forever with that as an excuse.

Gelean calmed down and spoke again in a kind voice.

"Let's forget about the past, Adele. I was so immature back then."

To say I was immature at the age of 30. So when the heck do you get mature?

"But now it is different. I also admit my mistake and am deeply reflecting."

The action just before was not an action that a person who reflected on would be able to see.

"It will never happen again. So let's get along well for now. Adele. We are family by blood."

Family by blood. In my first life, I was fooled by those sweet words and suffered badly. I couldn't help it then. Because at that time I was an ignorant fool. In addition, he was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of my father, so I could not properly discern what was going on. I desperately needed an existence to rely on and follow, but I foolishly chose that existence as Gelean.

'After Gelean, it was the Emperor."

Without even dreaming that the Emperor was a more terrible person. Seriously, in my first life. I was an irreplaceable idiot.

"Since you are single now, wouldn't it be nice to have a family to share with you?"

"I am okay. I can do well alone."

"I know it's burdensome, but I hope you don't hold back too much. It's because I'm worried about you."

"Are you worried about me?"

"Okay. You are the age who just made your debut this year, so you don't know the world well."

Her maternal aunt helped Geluan.

"That means that we, the adults, will help you. Will you need our help too?"

It was useless worry and fuss. It was better to stand alone than to have their help. Above all, I was not the ignorant child they thought I was. Having lived the same life several times. I knew the circumstances of the world much better than they did. So, I was about to reject it, but I suddenly thought of its usefulness to them and hesitated.

A smile bloomed on the lips that drew the line.

"Will you really help me?"

The Anasid couple smiled brightly and nodded, probably thinking th at their appeal had worked.

"Of course. I will help you with anything."

"Anything?"

"Okay. Because we are family. What could the family not do?"

"Well then. So, if you have a favor to ask of us, feel free to tell us."

"That's right, I'm glad."

What I'm asking you from now on is something that may cost you your life.

"Then would you wait while resting in the annex? I will call you if you need help."

"It's not the main building, it's an outbuilding?"

Families or blood relatives stayed in the main building, and guests stayed in the annex. In other words, it meant treating them as guests rather than family, so the embarrassed Gelean stuttered.

"Right. Of course we thought we would stay in the main building."

"I want to do that too, but because my father died suddenly, I could n't properly organize the main building."

It wasn't an outright lie. Because it was true that I had to organize it. I still consider them real family. If it were me, I would have made them stay at the main building, but that wasn't the case, so I made an appropriate excuse.

"For the time being, the main building seems to be busy due to the tidying up, so please understand that I'm serving you in the annex. I'll call you when the main building is finished."

Of course, even after the main building is finished, they will be returned again. I had no intention of calling them.

"You're calling me when it's really over, right?"

"Sure. Don't worry and rest."

I let a servant guide them and went into the main building. The snow stopped while I was talking with Gelean, but my body trembled, probably because I had already been hit so many times. I told the maid I met on the way back to my room.

"Bring me some hot tea. A medicinal tea to get rid of a cold."

"Oh, did you catch a cold? Shall I call the doctor?"

"It's not that far yet, but I think it'll be better if I drink warm tea and rest well."

"Then how about taking a warm bath? If you soak it in herbal bath bombs, your cold will go away and you will feel better."

"Well, that's not bad either."

"I will prepare right away."

After the maid had left. I returned to my room and sat in front of the dressing table, looking at the woman in the mirror.

"You're young."

I was only 3 years younger than the end of my previous life, but I looked young for a while. Is it because I suffer less?

"How many opportunities will I have left in the future?"

Once? Twice? Or will this be the l ast time? I was worried about not knowing which one. If this life is the last, but if I fail this time too, I will lose the opportunity to take revenge forever, so I was afraid that it would drive me crazy.

"It'll turn out okay. I'm sure I succeed this time."

So, while I was hypnotizing myself not to be anxious, I heard a knock.

"Come in."

I thought it was a maid, but it wa s Hannes who came unexpectedly. "What is going on?"

"My lady. I heard that you brought Gelean into the annex."

Ah. Is it because of that?

"That's right."

 "But Sir Gelean.. "

"I know what the butler is worried about."

Because in my first life. I heard so much worry and nagging that it hurt my ears.

"Don't worry. I have no intention of being swayed by them."

"Are you really going to be okay?"

 "Of course."

When I saw the maid behind the harness. I stood up.

"So don't worry and prepare the memorial service. As I said before. A month should be enough."

"Yes? Hey, you said you didn't hold a memorial service earlier..."

"I thought so, but it changed."

A useful card was in hand, but there was no reason to go back to the difficult path.

 "So prepare a memorial meal."

It was early evening when the moon had just appeared. The wheel of the fourth life began to turn with a creak.
