TVHR - Chapter 62

The banquet welcoming Kaluta was held outdoors out of consideration for the Kalutans' dislike of feeling confined.

Food was served mainly as finger foods that could be picked up with the hands so as to be boisterous without losing elegance, and alcohol was served mainly as cocktails based on whiskey or vodka and traditional liquor rather than wine.

This means that there was information scattered everywhere indicating that the Emperor was quite considerate of Kaluta.

To begin with, holding an imperial banquet outdoors was not a common occurrence.

Even Kaluta didn't seem to mind this kind of welcome, as their expressions weren't that bad.

"...A banquet like those of barbarians? I wonder what His Majesty is really thinking."

"I think it smells."

"Everyone, watch your mouths. Do you not understand what it means that His Majesty has prepared this?"

"Ahem, even so... this isn't a salon invitation or a tea party. It's not like this is the Imperial Household Greenhouse, so why hold a banquet in a backyard like this...?"

The lady spread her fan wide and spoke.

The others nodded.

"If you have come to a foreign country, you should show courtesy to that country."

"And more than anything else, why is the person in charge of this banquet that stuttering Princess?"

"That's right, it really doesn't match the level..."

They, who had been murmuring softly, paused at the sound of a sigh coming from behind.

"I agree. I don't want to join in on low-level conversations either, you know. So..."

They slowly turned their creaking bodies.

"You're getting in the way; move out of the way."

They paused at the sight of Roselyn murmuring in a low voice.

She was adorned from head to toe with jewelry and a dress that were hard to find, yet it wasn't excessive.

It was natural.

It was because Fleur, somehow having heard the news that Roselyn was attending the banquet, had bypassed everyone else and barged into her mansion again the day before.

Thanks to that, Roselyn, who had been suffering since morning, was in a bad mood right now.

Fleur Boutique.

It was a boutique that had become even more famous due to the flood of orders after Roselyn made a spectacular debut wearing a dress they had made.

Thanks to that, the owner, Fleur, has been incredibly busy lately.

He was suffocated by the overwhelming work and had less time to sleep, but his mouth stretched wide and soared to the sky.

After all, he earned and touched the money he would touch in a lifetime in just one year.

His boutique, which was already busy, was fully booked up to three years in advance.

Even though several more assistants were hired.

Furthermore, the business partner who cut ties with Roselyn after listening to her was arrested for illegal drug distribution not long after.

Even though there were no problems, rumors spread, and all the places he did business with ended up taking down their signs.

Fluer, terrified by this, revered Roselyn beyond a benefactor, practically treating her like a god.

He even said that if she contacted him at 3 AM, he would drop everything, even if he was sleeping, and rush over.

Anyway, in that sense, the Empire's best designer shouted that he would take on the role of Roselyn's personal stylist.

And he finally attended the banquet with her today.

Anyway, for that reason, Roselyn was styled by Fleur and was the most eye-catching presence in this venue.

'...I never imagined Fleur would be Baron Fleur.'

Roselyn sighed at the fact she had learned this morning, looked at the women in front of her, and then looked at Baron Fleur standing beside her.

'Didn't you say that Fleur is a pseudonym he uses when cross-dressing as a designer?'

If Fleur was a beautiful woman of unparalleled splendor, Baron Fleur, on the other hand, appeared to be a rather sophisticated man with his long hair tied up in a ponytail.

Roselyn turned her head and smiled as she looked at the pale-faced young lady and young masters.

"Are your ears blocked? I'm telling you to get out of the way."

"What, what?"

"Listen, before you criticize others, why don't you reflect on whether you yourself are doing something that deserves criticism?"

"Lady Bellion, please bear with it. I've heard that if your ear canals get fat, you can't hear well."

Baron Fleur, who was standing nearby, spoke in a voice tinged with laughter.

It was a rather androgynous voice, different from the shrill soprano falsetto he usually produced.

"...What, what did you say? Baron Fleur! It seems you haven't learned that a man shouldn't butt into women's conversations, have you?"

"Aha, was that so? But who are you...?"

"...!"

Because of the nature of his profession, there was no one in high society who didn't know Fluer.

Roselyn inwardly shook her head in disbelief at the way he nonchalantly pretended not to know who the other person was, even though it was obvious.

"Please bear with it, Countess. After all, the Baronial family of Fleur is a poor household teetering on the brink of collapse. It is only natural that they are uneducated."

"Ah, right. They say the pillars of a household shake just to attend one banquet."

"What? Are there families like that?"

"I suppose that’s why it fits today’s banquet perfectly."

Roselyn frowned at the way they were simultaneously mocking Kaluta and the Baron.

They say shit.

'Even if you combine all the family assets here, it would be less than Fleur's personal wealth.'

Roselyn clicked her tongue inwardly at the arrow that was pointlessly aimed at Baron Fleur, who was an easy target, while they could not even open her mouth to the Princess.

"Do you realize that today's banquet is one that His Majesty personally directed, paying attention to every single detail?"

“Of course...!"

"The Kalutans are a people who inherently live in harmony with nature. They are a people who adapt and coexist with its members. That is why His Majesty held banquets in the gardens rather than inside the covered imperial palace."

Everyone fell silent at the explanation Roselyn began in a flat voice.

The same was true for the Kalutains who were gathered together chatting, as well as the nobles who were venting their grievances.

Even though she felt all eyes on her, she opened her mouth solely to the immature young lady and young man.

"It is right to follow the laws of a foreign country when visiting it, but respecting the customs of visitors is also a form of hospitality."

"..."

"And we decided to call this 'consideration.' Not that it is low-level."

The people who had been chattering loudly just moments ago have fallen silent.

Arma, who entered the banquet hall just in time, was somewhat surprised by the silence, but then paused upon spotting Roselyn in the center.

Roselyn scanned the banquet hall once with a look of contempt and continued speaking.

"If there is anyone who fails to understand His Majesty's will, which is this clear, then it is you who are unworthy; therefore, I would like you to leave this banquet hall."

Roselyn said.

"It seems you don't realize how keen the five senses of a Kalutain are. Did you really think that vulgar remark wouldn't have been heard?"

At the sight of Roselyn standing tall with her back and shoulders straight, unfazed by the stares pouring in from all directions, Arma raised his hand and slowly rubbed the corners of his mouth that were trying to curl up.

'I want it.'

The more Arma got to know Roselyn, the more he coveted her.

To the point where he wondered why he didn't know back then.

"You'd better know that our guests refraining from ripping your heads off is an act of consideration toward you."

Roselyn's choice of words was quite rough.

However, Yuldian trembled violently when he actually saw his arm being pulled off right before his eyes.

Naryan, who had wrapped her arm around Yuldian's waist and held him close, caught a glimpse of the banquet hall's atmosphere and headed toward her mother and father with him.

‘Was it too much?'

Roselyn narrowed her eyebrows as she looked at the banquet hall, where silence had fallen.

At that, Young Lady and Young Master, who had been subjected to all sorts of rebuke right in front of them, hurriedly stepped aside.

'I don't know.'

As Roselyn looked at the musicians, they flinched in surprise and started playing again.

"Wow, Miss Bellion, you look great!"

Roselyn walked to where the Kalutains were gathered, listening to Baron Fluer's exclamation of admiration.

Seeing Roselyn approaching, Khan opened her arms toward her.

"Lin! I heard something big happened to you. Are you feeling okay? As your friend, I was quite worried."

"Yes. Was there any inconvenience on your way here?"

"It was just fascinating to be outside for the first time in a long while, but it wasn't as bad as I thought."

She added a remark, saying it was a relief, and nodded.

"It looks like my husband enjoyed the outing for the first time in a long while, too."

At Khan's words, Roselyn turned her head and looked at her husband, Hatan, who was acting as Khan's representative.

Hatan looked at Roselyn and spoke.

"I heard you weren't feeling well. Are you okay?"

"Yes. Fortunately, I got better soon."

"Right, I've been hearing updates from you periodically. Thanks for the invitation."

The external Khan is likely known as Hatan.

Roselyn showed courtesy by smiling faintly and nodding.

"His Majesty the Emperor, His Highness the First Prince is entering!!"

The chaotic atmosphere was quickly resolved with the Emperor's arrival.

Roselyn bowed respectfully between the Kalutains, who stood upright.

“I found it.”

Amidst everyone bowing their heads, a single gaze stared greedily at her, muttered softly.

Khan's eyebrows shot up sharply as he keenly sensed the malice in the voice with his keen hearing.

Khan approached Roselyn.

“Lyn.”

"Yes."

"I have a bad feeling about this. You'd better be careful when you go out."

“I will.”

Roselyn nodded.
