TSFHA - Part 2 Chapter 33

“...”

At the answer that came in a second, Vania paused, squirmed with a pout, and poked Nike in the chest.

“What is it...”

"You're just messing around," Ryan thought.

However, the only one frowning at his sister's feigned innocence was the older brother. The boyfriend could not hide the corners of his mouth, threatening to curl up.

"Stop!"

Ryan didn't want to see them displaying affection right in front of him, so he hurriedly stepped between the two.

"Let's just get back to work!"

***

Nike ordered the knights to move the monster breeding facility building that Belzer had previously used.

After successfully setting up a temporary enclosure in Shacht and seeing that there were many eyes watching, she even put on a performance of confining Ratan again before sending everyone away first.

Ryan and Vania returned to Belzer with Merchen.

In the meantime, they discussed the cause and background of the landslide and shared information about supernatural abilities.

When the always-busy Prince had perfectly finished settling everything.

It was the middle of the night, and Belzer Castle was in chaos.

“My Lord, young lady! Young Master Alex has returned!”

"But they heard he submitted a leave of absence request!!!"

It was because of unexpected visitors and even more unexpected news.

***

The reception room of Belzer Castle.

“Why did you submit a leave of absence request?! Without even consulting me! You brat, don't you know your dad works his fingers to the bone to support you!”

Ryan grabbed the back of his neck.

“Dad, don’t get mad!”

Vania glared at Alex while soothing Ryan.

"So you didn't even take the exam? And what's with that crooked attitude!"

Dressed in a shabby school uniform shirt with a couple of buttons undone, Alex spoke while picking his ear.

"Oh, I have my own ideas, too."

“Ugh!”

“Ack, Dad!”

Ryan fell backward.

The atmosphere was tense.

Ryan was furious. Vania sat right beside him, as if trying to stop him if he were to raise his fist in his excitement.

Across from them, Alexander, looking somehow completely at ease after returning from causing trouble.

Nike, who had entered the reception room with Alexander to exchange greetings, stood up to slowly make his way out...

“Your Highness, please stay with me.”

Ryan grabbed it.

"I'll leave. I think this is a place for a family conversation."

“Yes. He is Your Highness’s brother-in-law, isn’t he?”

...It’s already becoming like that?!

"Your brother-in-law came back after causing trouble, so you should hear the story together."

"Dad, really!"

Slap!

Vania hit his shoulder.

Nike looked back at Alexander while standing awkwardly.

His brother-in-law replied with a grin, as if to say it was okay to have him.

In the end, Nike sat down again.

A seat of honor that feels like it must mediate between the two fierce camps...

“You said you had an idea earlier? Explain what that idea is in a way that your father can understand.”

“You’re crazy! How on earth did you do something like this?”

Ryan and Vania shot back.

They seemed like a couple whose hearts were breaking at the thought of their son returning home after taking a leave of absence without a word of consultation, all after they had worked hard to earn the tuition and send him to the academy.

“You rascal! Do you know or not that you almost didn’t get into school, but got in thanks to your brother-in-law’s connections? Huh?!”

Ryan slammed the table and gritted his teeth in anger.

“Brother-in-law? What do you mean, Dad? Come on!”

Slap!

Vania hit his shoulder again.

"It’s not a withdrawal, it’s a leave of absence. Please calm down first and take a look at this."

Alexander took something out of his pocket and placed it on the table without blinking.

[Lawyer License]

A glittering golden Imperial Lawyer Certificate.

Ryan and Vania's eyes widened as soon as they saw it.

“Wow, what is this!”

“Oh my god! You took the exam! Did you get your certificate already?”

Nike was also surprised and immediately looked at Alexander.

“Finally! Finally, our family has an intellectual who uses his head, not his body!”

“It’s hard to say ‘finally,’ considering there was already one professor!”

Ryan and Vania hugged each other tightly and made a fuss.

“But Alex is only fifteen! Well done, Alex! I’m so proud of you!”

“My son, you’re amazing! It was worth working my butt off to raise you!”

Nike could not close his gaping mouth between the two, who felt the heart of parents watching their child succeed.

Ryan and Vania were simply overjoyed, but they didn't seem to fully realize just how big a deal this was...

'The youngest successful candidate was Alexander?'

Under Imperial law, only adults can obtain a legal professional license.

However, due to controversy over whether this meant genius minors should just suck on spoons, a law was enacted allowing the <Private Defense Counsel Exam> to be taken from the age of 15, which is an exceptional occurrence.

Even so, in fact, it was merely a measure to quell the resentment, not a law actually designed to require the applicant to take the exam at age 15.

Almost no one was aware of these eligibility requirements, and naturally, there have been no 15-year-old applicants to date.

There were even fewer people who passed with a perfect score at the age of 15!

"Congratulations."

"You really should congratulate them on this," Nike said with a surprised look on his face.

“I was curious to know who the perfect scorer was when I heard it had been the first in 26 years. I was surprised to hear rumors that you were the youngest successful candidate in the capital, but I never imagined it would be you.”

“Thank you, Your Highness.”

Alexander bowed politely.

“Oh my! Alex, did you really get a perfect score? I heard this was a super hard test!”

“Hahaha! Well done, my son! I heard the word got out even on the island? Let's have a meat party today!"

Ryan, the father who was completely intoxicated by his son's success, laughed loudly, then suddenly.

Bang bang!

He slammed the table a couple of times to get attention and spoke.

“Then tell me why you submitted a leave of absence request without consulting me.”

"Understood, Father."

Alexander stood up, walked around the table, and abruptly knelt in front of Ryan and Vania.

Everyone was surprised.

"Before I tell you about my life plans, there is something I would like to ask for permission from my father and sister."

“...”

“...”

At those words, Ryan and Vania just blinked.

And they looked back at each other and exchanged glances.

1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds.

He turned his head back to Alexander and spoke at the same time.

“Denied.”

"No."

What is this? Without even listening.

Nike was bewildered.

“Why are you acting like that without even listening!”

As Alexander looked frustrated, Vania waved her hand dismissively.

“No, go back. Seeing as you even knelt, it’s obvious without even hearing it. Isn’t that what you’re saying—that you want to use your supernatural powers?”

“...”

Alexander shut his mouth.

It seemed to be correct.

...a chilling silence settled over.

At this moment, Nike became curious.

Alexander's special ability.

Nike knew that he was a person with supernatural abilities, but he didn't know what kind of ability he possessed.

Ryan had said this the other day when they had a conversation where they laid all their secrets on the line.

He said that since he has no intention of letting young Alexander go, there is no need to know about his special abilities.

Unlike Vania, Alexander was a real child, so Nike fully sympathized with Ryan's decision.

That is also why he hadn't been curious about it until now.

He thought he wouldn't see Alexander use his ability anyway.

“It’s my supernatural ability, so why can’t I use it as I please? No matter who my father and sister are, don’t you have the right to force me?”

That is true. Nike, who was listening, nodded.

"If you want to do as you please, get out of the house."

Ryan made a bold move. Nike was startled. Why go to such lengths?

“The right to force? I fed you, sheltered you, gave you pocket money, and paid your tuition, huh? I worked my bones out raising you, and here comes this brat with such disrespect!”

Oh my?!

"Have you forgotten how much I agonized over making this decision back when you whined, thinking you were incompetent? I told you back then. It’s not a skill you can just decide whether to use or not, so just keep it in mind."

Even Vania was resolute.

"Please don't be so harsh, both of you, and listen to my plan first."

“No need to listen!”

Ryan suddenly stood up.

“No matter what plans come out of your mouth, I won’t allow them. If you really want to do things your own way, leave the clothes, bag, and allowance I bought you behind, move out, and do it there. I won’t pay your tuition even if you go back to school.”

"Hey."

Nike, who had been listening, couldn't stand it anymore and interrupted.

“What kind of situation is this, without even listening to what he has to say? Threatening a child who hasn't become financially independent with control over their finances—isn't that going too far?”

“Your Highness, you are right!”

Recognizing his helper, Alexander quickly knelt down and clung to Nike's side.

Nike turned around and asked.

“What is this ability?”

“...”

Alexander just blinked his eyes.

Vania, who had been watching, quietly rose from her seat, approached Nike, and whispered in his ear.

“...”

Nike's face slowly hardened.

He thought for a moment.

“...Listen before I take your clothes, bag, and allowance.”

They threatened with economic power!

“Ah, Your Highness~!!!”

Alexander sobbed.
